Thought iPhone 3GS was supposed to have MMS

I watched the video of the tour of the iPhone 3GS and it talks about how the new iPhone has MMS and I was really looking forward to the feature. I bought a new iPhone and there is no MMS. Am I just missing something or is there no MMS? iPhone 3GS

App store problem- very confused iPhone 3G

Hi everyone.Ok, Ill try to explain this as best as I can.When I tried to download anything from the app store, it said my username/password was incorrect (which it was totally correct- I checked on my iTunes account several times). I got fed up with this, so I created a brand new iTunes account. After doing this, the password and everything worked fine.Fast forward to the current issue- some of my apps require updates. When I try to update them (either one by one or using the update all option), it brings up my OLD iTunes account name even AFTER I sync it with my iTunes on my computer logged in with the NEW iTunes account. Thus, I am unable to update any of the apps. I can download new ones without an issue, though. Any feedback? I hope I explained that alright.Thanks!Howard PC iPhone OS 3.0

I was using the iMail app for forwarding emails to comtact groups. Before 3.0 the app worked like a charm and really saved time not having to select all the email addresses to forward emails to. Now, it doesnt seem to work, so Im wondering if anyone knows of any other app that works like this or any other way to forward emails to groups?

MY SETUPIve been using my iPhone with a (ridiculous looking) dongle/blutooth transmitter and a Sony Ericsson HBH DS-980 Stereo Bluetooth Headset. I found this to work VERY well, regardless of the This device was not designed to work with the iPhone message when u attach the dongle...A. MISSING FUNCTIONS1. The headset Next & Previous buttons no longer workBEFORE: I could move to the next/prev song by pressing the appropriate button on the Headset... didnt even have to touch the iphone. NOW: I have to activate the iphone screen, unlock the phone and then touch the next/prev button on the screen.2. Fast- forward/rewind no longer workBEFORE: Using the same buttons as above, you could get the song to play in 2X fast mode - great if you wanted to scan ahead, back to a place in a podcast or song.NOW: Not available at all.BUGTheres a VERY noticeable delay/gap in the music every so often now. SUMMARYiPhone w/out stereo bluetooth - REALLY disappointing. iPhone WITH stereo bletooth - AN INSULT...QUESTIONIs there an update or trick to get this to work? IPhone 3G Updated to 3.0 My review

I know sometimes people come to forum to see feed back on everyones experience on updating to new firmware. I know I do. But typically only folks with bad experience post, so I thought I would post how my update went (Good - No Problems). 1st let me say that when I do updates thought iTunes, I do Download only, I dont Download and install. I then do the Install when it is finished.Here is my experience, which I posted on Facebook:My iPhone 3.0 update review (on a iPhone 3G) Im always a bit worried that something will go wrong when doing a major update like this, but all went well. Ill start with my complaint, and its more for AT&T. Please turn on the MMS. Cut/copy/paste - Oh thank you, thank you. And finally we have it. It works great. Spotlight Search - As far as I can tell, works as designed Voice Memos - Cool app, works as designed, You can do tweak the start and end points, but dont think you could cut out a middle section. I wish the update included the Voice Control that the 3GS had. Oh well Calendar improvements - looks good Stereo Bluetooth - Not tested Auto Wifi login - Worked great this morning at Starbucks, downtown Houston in the Tunnel. Yes, Yes Notes Sync - I may need help on this one, I think you have to have Outlook, or Outlook Express to sync to a PC, which I dont use at home. Emailing Multiple pics - Yes, finally, no more emailing one pic at a time from my iPhone. I think there is a max. of five at a time. Dont know if I would try this on EDGE. Probably would be a bit slow. Landscape typing - works (was not high on my wish list) Looking forward to some apps with Push Notification!! iPhone OS 3.0

Hi everyone forgive me as i dont normaly come on the forums to complain about my iPhone as i never have any issues with mine even from the time i bought it but!if i recall the 3.0 OS was supposed to be realeased today in australia on the 17th of June thats what my service provider told me through sms alert and my local shop even the Australian Apple site said 3.0 realeased June 17th well its june 17th and its now saying i have to wait another day? im a bit dissapointed in this as i was really looking forward to this update.this really is much to complain about but i just felt let down and dissapointed and wanted to vent my dissapoint ment sad face = Lenovo Windows XP

Question about MMS in 3.0 iPhone 3G

This may be obvious, but not to me, so thought I would ask. On the Apple site, it talks about the new messages features in 3.0 (Send messages with text, video, photos, audio, locations, and contact information. You can even forward one or more messages to others)but underneath all that it says MMS support from AT&T coming in late summer. Hi Im new here so forgive me if this has been asked before.When I heard about OS 3.0 and the fact that they were finally going to have MMS avaliable I was stoked and couldnt wait for the release. Then when it was announced at the WWDC that AT&T wouldnt have MMS avaliable on the iPhones until later this summer I was p!$$ed to say the least.MMS was the main reason I was looking forward to downloading OS 3.0 and now that MMS wont be avaliable for some stupid reason on AT&Ts part Im considering just not even downloading it at all until later this summer when MMS is actually avaliable.I wish the iPhone were on another network, Id drop AT&T in a heart beat.So im curious if anyone is going to hold off on downloading 3.0 bebcause of this? I WENT to apples website and reserve (without having to pay) a GS phone... so i reserved a black 16GB GS.. ok.. then it says in fine print this doesnt guarantee you get one that day - phones sold first come first served..i can pick it up from the apple store on 6-19...im reminded of the seinfeld episode where jerry tries to rent a car, and he goes to the rental agency and they dont have the car he reserved.. he says something about the agency knowing how to take a reservation but not HOLD the reservation.so this means lets say for example, 5 people reserved phones, and lets say i am #4.and lets say that apple gets 5 phones on 6-19and lets say that i am #6 in line.. even though i reserved my phone, i wouldnt get it?Thanks for reserving your iPhone. Iphone screen-vertical grey and coloured lines 3G

Would be interesting to know if anyone else has had a similar problem and how they got on. The phone has not been dropped or water damaged and last night a white screen appeared with grey and subsequently coloured vertical lines. It was on the table and working one minute and as described the next. The phone is still receiving messages, emails and calls because I can hear the bleeps but the screen is stuck on the vertical lines. I tried to reset etc but nothing. When plugging it into itunes all the information was still there. I tried a restore but still nothing.I have arranged to send it back to Apple but I am concerned that they are going to say it is not covered - I know I should wait and see but it would be comforting to know if anyone else has had a similar issue.Thanks in advance. I had an original IPhone and it has water damage. I had bought it before the new 3Gs came out. I need to know if I can send or forward a draft email (from any mail client as I have a few) what I mean is I have a a few generic emails I need to send to clients when Im on the road. So I would need to pick a generic draft copy, paste into a newly composed email, add some new text within the draft and send.Last I remember I Phone has no copy and paste feature, is this still the case? happy with ATT coverage iPhone 3G

I for one, am not. I love the iPhone, but it is getting increasingly difficult to make and receive calls on AT&T. In Maryland, it appears to me that AT&Ts service is getting worse. My business partner also has the 3g iPhone, and is experiencing the same problems.Dropped calls with the phone showing 5 bars, 30+ seconds to initiate calls, garbled fast forward sounds when initiating some calls, voice mails that take 20 minutes to show up. Sure seems to me that AT&T has oversold their network.As much as I love the 3g iPhone, if the Palm Pre works as advertised, I may switch. I never had coverage problems on Sprints CDMA network...AT&Ts GSM coverage in my neck of the woods is pitiful. Win XP Windows XP

Keys punch themselves iPhone 3G

This happens typically a little after i start my iPhone 3G 16GB in the morning. The keys go crazy and start punching wildly regardless of the app I am using - Mail, Safari, Notes. The keystrokes are so random that it changes my bookmarks, selects addressees, starts voice calls. The only thing that is effective in taming this behavior is the Home key but I end up reseting the phone these days. However, today I got disabled for 60 minutes due to the keys auto punching the wrong passcode several times. Jensen VM9512 software upgrade iPhone

I just got off the phone with the Jensen tech support and they mentioned they had a software upgrade for this car stereo head unit, resolving some of the issues with the iPhone address book transfer and general Bluetooth reliability. Then I was passed on to customer service to discuss how to obtain the upgrade but I ran into a roadblock as they insisted that another department is actually handling this upgrade and I cant talk directly to them, they would forward my request instead and someone would call me back. How will apple be able to tell if my phone damaged from an accident iPhone 3G

Hi, I have various things wrong with my phone. About two months ago the casing of my Iphone 3G had cracks showing on it. I searched it up online and it has happened to numerous other people. So I thought ok I can over look it and still use my phone since it still works great and everything. Then fast forward to about a month ago and my Home button stops working completely, so then I was reduced to restarting my phone to get to the home page until I had the chance to call apple. Then around the same time the Home button stopped working the top silver button on the phone came off!! I could still turn on the phone from where the silver button was. I just had to push down with my nail which wasnt that troubling for me. So now I am at school restarting my phone to go to the home page and when it restarts it tells me i need to connect to Itunes. So then I cannot do anything on the phone till I am home and able to connect the phone to my imac. I connect the phone and it says my Sim card is not in the phone etc. I do all that I can to fix it. I finally call apple which I admit I should have done along time ago but seriously do not have any time during the day. I tell the representative the problem about my sim card and mention my home button. He says my phone should be replaceable and sent me a box to return my phone in for them to either fix it or replace it. I realized after I hung up that I forgot to ask what is accidental damage which is not covered under my warranty. Would that be the silver button falling off (which I forgot to mention) Or would it be the cracks on the white casing? I have only dropped my phone once and am afraid they will find some reason not to replace or fix my phone. Should I stay worried? Any input on if they might fix my phone or not? I sent it off today. static in speaker when making call or receiving one 3G iPhone

I have terrible static on my 3G phone when making or receiving calls. The person on the other end doesnt hear the static, only on my side. Sounds like bacon frying. Anyone else ever experienced this problem? I bought the phone the same time as my wifes and she doesnt have this problem. To buy or not to buy now iPhone 3G

Hi I am actually looking forward to getting myself an iphone 3G. But after surfing the net, i found some site saying that there will be a release of a new iphone model during june. I live in Singapore usually i think the iphone will take a few months before coming over to asia.My question is the rumour true? And is it worth to wait for the new iphone and get that and be an early adopter or stick to the 3g and get the 3.0 OS update?

Great new iphone idea

Hope Apple heads/programmers reads this. It would be nice to have a button to either enable or disable individuals within my contact list, to/from texting me or to out-right disable incoming text from numbers that are not included in my contact list. I really hate when people forward unwanted text to me. This feature would also address the virus, stalker, ex-girlfriend/boyfreind, spam text problem or any other stuff thats unwanted, especially with the new 3.0 upgrade, which includes video,voice(MMS)texting. Most of Apples Iphone users are kids and sexting is a big concern,not to mention paying for unlimited text when I dont really need to. Last, I would love, love to be able delete a single incoming/outgoing/missed phone calls not the whole thing, and I dont need to save it in my contacts just to keep it. Please Apple, these things are pretty standard. Just stop making your customers cry for basic features, especially for those who are on the fence about why they should buy an Iphone with limited capability, even though the Iphone is remarkable and ground-breaking. Potential Iphone buyer

hey everyone im in the market for a new phone and am pretty sure im gonna go with the iphone. i just have a few quick questions first. first off i can only have one ipod synced on my computer at one time. does that mean i wont be able to have both the iphone and the ipod synced to the same computer? i dont want to have to decide between using this computer for one or the other, im hoping to use it for both. but i figured since the phone appears like it uses itunes, that there might be a conflict. in addition, i dont want all the music in my itunes/ipod ending up on my phone. so hopefully that wont be a problem. my other question is basically about the data plan for the iphone. the 30 bucks a month doesnt seem that bad. im hoping this includes unlimited use of apps and the web? i was worried that id be paying for the data plan AND using up minutes while surfing the web or using the apps. but im hoping as long as i pay for the app and pay the data plan fee, that i can use the web and the apps as much as i want. anyone willing to straighten all that out for me? id greatly appreciate it. ive heard nothing but good things about the iphone and im kinda looking forward to getting one as long as theres not a problem with the things ive addressed Windows XP

Hi,I am writting this from Singapore, a country located in Asia.I have a few question that I would like to ask Apple but I dont know where to go, so I come to here hoping somebody from Apple is kind enough to help.1. My iPhone s/n : 888338M41R4, checked from apple website, its still under warranty till 21 August 2009.2. However, Im not the 1st owner of this phone, i bought it from somebody else that I do not know. So I do not have the receipt or what so ever. I thought it would still ok as its still under warranty base on s/n. (I know that Apple is giving the world Most Best customer service, and will do 1 to 1 replacement if the phone is having manufactured defact, heard it from many many people)3. Recently, my phone stop vibrating. No matter how many times i restore the OS from iTunes, it still wont vibrate.4. So, I called Apple customer support. A very very kind lady assisting me and check for me the warranty status and gave me a case no : 1210739055. She approved and told me to do the phone replacement from any Singtel shop in Singapore and even told me to contact apple direct from Singtel shop if having any difficulty.6. I went to Singtel today, and they told me must go to the HQ and gave me a number to call. 7. I called the number to enquire, what a dissapointment!!! They told me that I will need a Original receipt or approval letter from the owner and will defintely need the photocopy of owner IC in oder to have a valid claim.8. Is this the policy of Apple in Singapore? or is this the rules of Singtel?9. How come even the Manufacturer already agreed to do a replacement but Distributor is BLOCKING it?10. Does it mean people who are poor and do not have enought money to sign for the expensive contract line - who trying to save the money for a year just to buy a 2nd iPhone - DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO CLAIM WARRANTY FOR THE DEFFECTIVE PRODUCT???11. What kind of service provider is this? Phone sound and application problems-seeking help. iPhone

Hello all,I have spent the past 2 hours using the search function trying to identify a fix to the problems I have with my phone, without huge amounts of luck.1) Sound distortionI recently decided to update my iphone with some new music after leaving stuff on there for a couple of months, which involved an update to 2.2.1.Now, this could be related or completely independent but I get a distortion when listening to music through the ipod function.The distortion is not that of crackles, it just sounds odd - imagine Babylon Zoos voice for Spaceman on everything.Now, its not just the new songs this affects (suggesting EQ problems) but its the old stuff which I know for a fact was working fine.I have tried multiple sets of headphones (including buying a new pair as I thought it was those initially), and I get the same issues.Any ideas how to fix, I really dont want to have to do a restore of iPhone for nothing (see below)2. Applications all closingFor some reason my applications keep dropping off and closing, read that should restore to factory settings the phone to correct. Simply the most irritating and none fuctioning aspect of the iphone and iphone 3g. I am not sad to see you go. You have frustrated me for soooo long. iPhone 3g sync problems in iTunes 8.1 Windows solved Please read on

I wanted to post something quick here in an attempt to help anyone else with my same problems. I freely admit I have a jailbroken phone, and so perhaps thats part of the problem with the recent syncing problems, but ultimately I have an iPhone 3g 16gb, 2.2.1, and I tried to sync it with the 8.1.x.x and it DID NOT WORK. I constantly had a message of Verifying Prestones iPhone, and it NEVER moved forward. Restore would not work, I could not click anywhere on the page (Photos, Movies, Applications) tabs.My fix:I went to File Hippo and downloaded iTunes 8.0.2, uninstalled 8.1, installed 8.0.2, and when it starts up the first time, youll probably get a message that the library was built by a newer version, if so, when restarting iTunes again, hold shift, and in your iTunes music folder, go into the Previous iTunes Library, and find the most current date. (Most likely dated the date you installed 8.1) It would have copied the old library, just before making a new one for 8.1I hope this helps anyone and everyone. It was a headache for me! Want to transfer some songs/photos to friends phones via bluetooth, have enabled it, but cant see the phones - what am i doing wrong?3. Want to use music I have put in itunes as ringtone - How is this done?Please help.

GPS satellites or iPhone GPS receiver issue 3G

Hi!During the last week I have been seeing strange activities of my iPhone (2.2.1) GPS receiver. When using Maps, it first triangulates my position using cell sites and shows blue circle, after a minute (sometimes quicker) it locks GPS signal and blue dot appears. Up to here everything seems normal, as used to be before.But then after a few seconds bluish round appears about the blue dot (indicating worse accuracy of the GPS coordinates), a few seconds later bluish round increases, after another moment blue dot disappears and triangulation circle pops back up. After that, sometimes sooner, sometimes later, sometimes never until I restart Maps, the blue dot comes back and disappears again, and so on... All of this takes place outdoors, no tall buildings around.A few days ago I met my friend who also owns iPhone 3G and we have tried to check the GPS together. I was surprised that the GPS coordinates were locked and lost almost simultaneously on both devises.Has anybody of you seen this? What could be the reason for this malfunction? Could it be that some GPS satellite is down, or iPhone GPS receiver is broken? I would not guess that it is weather conditions because it lasts for about a week, and I am sure I got GPS working correctly before even in more cloudy conditions than this week.By the way, I am located in Vilnius, Lithuania. iPhone 3G Montenegro activtion and iTunes issues

I have bought an iPhone 3G yesterday in T-MOBILE shop in Montenegro. (http://www.apple.com/me/iphone/)When I was trying to activate it on iTunes, my country (MONTENEGRO) was not listed on registration page, so I had to choose YugoslaviaPlease note that Yugoslavia does not exist for 10 years. It has splitted in two countries: Serbia (which is on the list) and Montenegro (which is not listed!!)Can you please add my country on the list?! And how can I update my activation information if I want to change country name?I also have problem registering on AppStore. Since my country is not listed. T-MOBILE Montenegro directed me to this article (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534), but i have to register on AppStore as user from Croatia, even though Im not living in Croatia.Please Help.
