my iphone 5  was on and on the charger last night.   wake up this morning the phone is dead dead   zero black, no respond    even connect it to the puterdo i need a new phone?

iphone 5 suddenly no sound

I recently had a software update (6.1.4) on my iphone 5.  I ran the update last week and everything seemed fine.  However, as of yesterday my phone no longer made sound, it just stopped making sounds to everything.  It makes no sound when it rings, when I receive a text/email or when I try to listen to music.  The sound is completely dead.  The little switch on the left of the phone is turned on for volume.  I did a reset and nothing seems to help.  Has anyone encountered this problem?  Does anyone have a solution?

There seems to be a lot of people out there dropping their iphone in the bath so I thought I would share my experience of fixing mine.Firstly if its in warranty consult your dealer - if this doesn't help try the following: A lot of people say stick it in bags of rice / silicon, etc but here is a quicker, more reliable way which is far less likely to contaminate one of the connectors. You do not need any special equipment. Make sure phone is off (If you can still see the screen) - hold sleep and Home for 5 seconds and tap the red off button that appearsPop your oven on a low heat ( less than 100C) for 5 minutes.Wrap your phone inside a sock, doubled over a couple of times so the phone is well protected.Turn oven offPop phone into oven for 30 minutes or longer preferably You could use a hairdryer but be very careful to keep it moving to avoid any localised heat spots that could damage components. If the phone got really soaked you might want to jump down to taking the phone apart - if it is still full of water powering up or charging could result in further damage Let the phone cool and try to power up, if nothing happens check for any signs of water vapour still in the phone and repeat if present. Otherwise try charging and powering up Still no success? this step requires a very small crosshead (some need a 5star) screwdriver, don't compromise and try and use a larger one, damaged screws will cause you even more expense. Very cheap on ebay. Unscrew the 2 small screws at the bottom next to the speaker, slide the back up and lift away. Unscrew the very small screw holding the battery connector in place and pry up the connector (lift the side nearest the edge first). Be careful not to lose the screw or the small metal bracket under the connector. Use the plastic tab sticking up half way along the battery to ease the battery out (usual there is a small amount of glue on them). This will reset the phone (you will not lose anything but the phone will hopeful power up when the battery is replaced). This is a good time to try the drying procedure again to ensure there is no more moisture present. Reconnect the battery screw everything back in place and press the wake button. If this has not succeeded you may need specialist help to test more components.Good luck ( and I cannot stress enough - keep the temperature low when drying)

Another iphone disabled question- iphone 4S

Hi All, So I have disbled my iphone 4s by forgetting my passcode (like it seems many other people do!). Also as the phone went dead as I was away for the weekend the SIM is also locked. I have often backed it up to iCloud but I never had the camera roll back up option ticked as I cannot see it when I sign into iCloud. I dont have iTunes on my laptop or access to the original iTunes where it was synced a year and a half ago. My question is can I get the phone unlocked by Apple? ( I have the IMEI number and proof of purchase) Is there any way of keeping or getting my photos/videos and messages? When I had my phone plugged into the laptop and was clicking backup through wifi will this have also backed up my photos? Thanks!

Strange Battery Behaviour iphone 5

Hi,I got this strange problem 2 days ago.I charged the phone 100% at 6pm and in the morning it was dead. Even when I pressed power button nothing happened (usually it blinks the dead battery) but this time - nothing.So I charged it again and watch and recorded: It drained 5% per 30min. that's 10% per hour! It doesn't matter if its 3g or lte or even air-plain mode. Same result.So yesterday I restored it and set it up as new. But the problem remains.  Strangest thing ever. I checked the info in iBackupBot4 and it gives me: CycleCount:77 DesignCapacity: 1430 FullChargeCapacity: 1375 - which is all normal!  So is there anything more that I can try?  Thank You.

iphone 4s battery problems. 4 hours of usage

I got my iphone 4s a little less than two weeks ago and I am getting 4 hours of use and 4 hours of standby before my battery is almost dead. It also gets hot while charging or sometime while just texting people. I took the phone to my local sprint store and they tested the battery and said it was fine. I really don't see what else I can do. I turned siri off. I don't have many apps at all. I even exit them all out constantly every few minutes. I've tried everything anyone has said to try and help it but no luck. I don't even get service in my house so I'm rarely ever on the phone (maybe a combined total of 1 hour since I have had the phone)  and the only texts I send are to people that have imessage because those can be sent with wifi. I really don't want to have to send my phone to apple and wait. But because the test showed nothing, sprint will not give me a new phone. What can I do?

iphone 5 would not power on

Woke up this morning and went to check the time and my iphone seemed like it was dead. It had been plugged in all night just as usual. Thought that maybe the charger was bad so I went to another charger but It would still not power on. I held the home and power button and it did power on asking to connect to iTunes. I ignored that and turned it off and back on. Now it seems fine and it was at 100% charge. My question is, What could have caused this? Should it be a concern and should I take it in to Apple to look at it?Thanks,Ben

Can't tern on my new iphone 5

I've my iphone 5 since February 2013.  One day I turned it off and since then I cannot turn it on, I've tried to pushed both the off/on button on the top and the round button on the front at the same time for about 15 seconds  - it's didn't help. I can't turn it on. The solution with  iTunes didn't help as well.  The iphone is dead.I bought the iphone in USA at Apple store in the Internet. I live in Israel. What can I do? I understood that in Israel there is no support or service for iphones that didn't bought in Israel.Can I send it with DHL to USA and Apple will fix it or replace it to a working one? It's new and has warranty.  Please your help.

iphone 5 barely charges doesn't sync

Hey all, I have an iphone 5, obviously less than a year old, and am having a really strange problem. Two days ago, I was able to charge my phone, sync it, everything like it was normal.  Yesterday, it decided it won't charge.  When the phone is dead, and I plug it in it has the normal charging screen and will get to 5% like usual.  But then, there is no charging battery, and my phone charges SUPER slow.  For example, yesterday I plugged in my phone at 3:50pm with 1%, and when I unplugged it (never used it while charging) it was 9:15pm and 34%.  Continuing to charge it from then has resulted it up to 50% now.  When it's plugged into my computer (Windows 7 Professional), I get a notification that says the USB device has malfunctioned.  So I know from this and the very slight charging that it shouldn't be the cord, there is still communication between the two.   I haven't updated my phone to the latest settings (it's on 6.0.2) and I'm struggling to try to update it now.  I also don't want to Reset all Settings due to some of my photos and videos that I need to save and I don't want those deleted.   What do I do?  How do I go about fixing this situation?  It really shouldn't be a battery since it's a decently new phone.  It's been handled great and there is no damage to it and no drops.  Help!

Can't hear just one person through my iphone 4

Okay, so lets see if this works. So I've had my iphone 4 for about a year and a half, I've never really had issues beside the normal glitching and having calls drop here and there. Recently I've had an issue with my iphone connecting with just one individual. Yes, I know it sounds weird but keep reading. I have been able to make calls and recieve phone calls fine, however I cannot with just one single individual. They to also only have the same problem with me, however the only difference is they can hear me but I cant hear them or anything. We're able to text and send picture messages without any issues. Now sometimes when I try to call them, itll ring twice and then the line just goes dead, but thats usually them picking it up. I cannnot hear them at all. I've already done the reset on my phone and I've already contacted apple about this issue and their about as lost as I am because it doesnt make sense that this is only happening with one individual. I've also blew out the speakers and such like people have suggested. I use my head phones that came with my speaker, and ive connected and reconnected them incase my iphone thought they were plugged in.  Let me give you a little bit more info. They have an android phone, we have the same carrier which is verizon and they live in another state (not sure if thats helpful). I'm completely lost because this has been going on for about 4 days now and its driving me crazy. This happened a few weeks ago, however it magically fixed its self ( im thinking it was because I had bad service). If anyone has any solutions that might help, please, please let me know.

I went to bed with iphone charge at 40%. I woke up during night to see what time it was and picked iphone up and it was dead.No life...dead as dead is going to get.  I plugged it in with charger still not responding..Tried another cable and charger module....Still dead after being plugged in for 15 minutes. This phone is only 2 months old. I am an IT manager and i have deployed these to fellow workers and my entire family.This is my 3rd iphone 5.. All of mine were returned because of defects and failures., Others in my family and workforce have had problems also.I have had every iphone model ever issued and never with any of them had problems.iphone 5 is just not good. I always drain it to below 15-20% and let charge to 100%.  This time could it be a defective battery?

Need Help iphone 4S

I have an iphone 4S that seems to work fine until the battery runs flat to the point there is no response when I press the sleep or home butons, the screen is just blank... When I plug into a charge point it will not take a charge. I have taken it to be repaired a couple of time and the guy a he mall fixes it in just a few mins and charges me 40 bucks. So long as I charge it before it goes dead flat I have no problem recharging or recognizing the phone on iTunes.Any help would be greatly appreciated...

I had a screen sensitivity issue with my original 4s.  It would react to my finger getting within about 1/4 inch of the screen, and would auto dial without anyone touching the screen.  Fortunately, It happened to actually do this in front of one of the 'geniuses' on my third trip to the apple store so they replaced the phone about 5 months ago.  I was given a 90 day warranty on the new phone.  It worked fine until last week.It started cycling on and off.  Then it wiped the phone and all of my apps.  I restored the phone but there would be a noticeable hesitation between when I touched the screen and when the touch registered.  This went on for two days.During those two days the power indicator did not ever show any indication there had been any battery drain, but always showed 100% charged, days, then went dead without ever showing it was discharging.  I took it to the Apple store.  They tried to do the same restore I had.  The phone came back on, but then cuts on and off to the Apple logo.  The battery will take a charge, but as it sits on the charger it cuts on and off.  The store solution was for me to purchase a new phone since they either had no idea what the problem was, or wouldn't tell me.  The phone has not had rough treatment or been exposed to water or excessive moisture.   Any suggestions?

iphone 4 battery life Why it die so fast and what can I

I have had an iphone 4 for a little over two years now and feel like recently, my battery is dying so fast.  When I go out for the day it always dies before I get home, what I think it is, could be that I take a lot of pictures and use many picture apps, but I don' think that it has always been this bad. NO matter what I do, when I go out to shoot at the park, it dies within a few hours. I hardly use it for other things besides that and it still dies. Yesterday when I left the house at 12, and came home at 5, it was dead.  I did all of the things I read about that I need to do, like closing the apps, etc.  I don't get it, is it me, or the battery being old or what? Should I buy a portable charger or do I need a new phone? I have a question about charging the battery as well. A coworker of mine told me that you need to let your battery die out every time, and then charge it, but I never do that. Is that neccessary to save the battery? Thank you. (*not sure what the difference is between CDMA and GSM? sorry)

I have had my phone for less than a year, my first charger malfunctioned in November. Started a case with Apple, never herd from them again. Went and paid $30 for a new one as could not be without a phone. It is now April and the second one is doing the same thing and will be dead soona s well. Anyone else had these issues?

I have had an iphone 4 for a couple of months no problems with it yet. Yesterday I plugged into a docking station like usual with full battery and it started playing music then stopped, suddenly blacked out and not responding. I have tried charging it for hours, putting it in DFU mode, connecting it to my laptop, no response. It is not responding to anything! And the warrenty has expired. HELP MUCH APPRICIATED!

About three days ago my iphone decided to display the incorrect time at first it was an easy fixjust correct it using the clock app-thingy, then it got worse, so I shut it down that worked and hasstayed that way and me and my iphone became friends again.... UNTILI got home to charge it, I put it on the charger and it didn't take. I hooked it up to my original charger - nothingthe computer - nothinga friends charger - nothingbought a different offical charger - nothingshook it - nothingrestarted it - nothinglet the battery drain til it's dead and restarted it - nothingpunched it in the face - hospital visitbought it flowers and choclates - nothingwhispered sweet nothings into it's earpiece - nothingtook it back to where I bought it - nothing, was told to restart it by shutting it down for 10 mins then turning it back on - NOTHING.  Frustrated, I go back to my friends house and attempted it one more time at her request, guest what - it worked, same charger as before but it worked.  UNTILI get home and hooked it back up to my charger, my original charger, my computer - and got nothing ALL OVER AGAIN...  Nothing seems to work with this thing, what's going on??

hi guys... i have an iphone 4 running ios 5.01 i believe..  about 3 weeks ago, suddenly it just died for no reason. i didn't drop it or anything.. i pressed and hold the home and spring board buttons, but nothing happened.  the phone would only turn on if it is being charged. even then, it is not functioning at all.. it says no service on the top left, the wifi is greyed out..  most of the apps wont work. when i selected any of the apps, they flashed briefly then go back to main menu.  and the phone dies again as soon as i unplugged the it from the charger. the battery says a 100% while being plugged.  there is an alarm icon on top of the main menu..  last night, all of a sudden, the phone just started to function again while being docked to the charger... after being unplugged for about a week or so.  and everything just works... but this morning after i have been using it for a few hours since last night, it died again...  so it looks like there is a loose connection inside the phone or there is a chipset or something thats beginning to fail inside phone..  just wondering if anyone has experience this kind of issue with their iphone 4..  its very irritating.. i never drop the phone, never got in the water.

my iphone 5 dead 2 weeks old Apple wont replace untill wednesday night

I've been an dedicated Apple customer since the iphone 2G and have qued up every release day for the next model. Always delighted with the service at apple, im now disappointed that my phone had to be replaced 2 weeks ago as it would turn off when ever it felt like it. Problems happen, Happy customer with a replacement immediately.  Now 2 weeks later, the replacement phone has died (tried all suggested revival techniques to no avail) Apple (Southampton) tell me they cant help me until Wednesday evening as their busy. Is my Business supposed to go on hold until Wednesday? Surly I must be able to pop in to store and wait to see someone and get it remedied? Im very disappointed with the telephone service of the girl on the phone at Apple Southampton. Anyone have any suggestions?

I have lost my iphone(4)and the battery is dead. I have the "locate device application", however, I know the battery is dead. To my knowledge, once the battery has expired, it cannot be retrieved using the "lost device/find my device" application.?? Is this correct? If so, is there another way to find this lost iphone?

Facebook app disappeared and cannot retrieve iphone 3G

I have an iphone 4S, about a year now.  Yesterday I downloaded a Facebook update and went to sleep.  Wake up in morning and Facebook app is missing from phone.  It was on my front page, next to a blank spot, and now there are two blank spots in the bottom right of my front page.  Here is what I have tried: -Resetting phone (home+on/off button).  Reset 3-4 times, nothing.-Reinstalling app.  Looked up Facebook app in app store, and shows as being installed.  So there is an "Open" button where there would be an "Install" button if I did not yet have the app.  I click the "Open" button and it does nothing, like it's a dead button.-Searching for Facebook.  On the iOs "Search iphone" bubble (swipe right on home screen) I search for Facebook.  Nothing shows up but contacts.-Synching on iTunes.  App doesn't show up on list, tried a synch, reset phone, nothing worked. I have 111 apps installed across 7 pages (with a few blank spots scattered across).  I do not and never had "Restrictions" enabled.  I have not changed any other settings anytime recently.  I have 4 gigs of free space on my phone. Any guidance here would be appreciated...thanks!

4S not charging

Have to wait for iphone to be dead or off to see that it has a connector plugged in. When dead it charges until it turns on then stops charging. Have had this problem on and off for a year, never got it fixed or seen as it costs more than I can afford.  The following has been tried and did not work : -apple power adapter w/apple connector-3rd party power adapter-apple and 3rd party connectors-plugging into laptop/computer/docking station Have tried multiple cables, chargers and computers.  The phones never really liked charging properly. Im surprised its lasted this long. running ios 6.1 (10B142)  Any help would be awesome.

My iphone 4 died and won't turn back on. It's been on charger for 17 hours.

Last night my phone went completely dead while I was doing something for school. I put it on the charger as soon as I got into the car, maybe 30 minutes after it went dead. It's been charging for 17 hours and still shows an empty battery with a flash underneath.  I've tried everything. I've attempted a hard reset multiple times, the screen goes black for maybe two seconds and then the empty battery comes back. Tried restarting my computer while my phone was plugged into it. Tried pressing the home button while plugging it into my computer. My computer isn't recognizing it when I plug the phone in.  I am desperate. I don't have the money to buy a new phone. Please help.  It hasn't been dropped. No water damage. I've never broken an iphone before.

I dropped my iphone 4 today, which had a case on it but the screen is messed up. It isn't cracked anywhere but shows blue streaks. It also isnt dead because I am getting texts and can turn it off and on. can i take iphone 4s into genius after been to service centre

HiSent my iphone 4S into service centre as it was not charging the battery anymore. They have told me that there is physical damage to the dock connector and that i have to pay a "Fee".I spent a long time on the phone with them explaining that this is rubbish, the phone is always in a full case and i've always used the original sync cable, never rammed it in, never even found it tight or anything, etc etc. There is no way that the dock has been damaged so i suggested that something may have failed in the connector itself and then when i have plugged the sync cable in it has caused the issue? They totally dismissed this and told me to make the choice - pay the fee or have a dead iphone back.I am not prepared to accept this, my iphone gets treated like the crown jewels and no way has it been subject to damage - i want to know if i received it back and took into a genius bar to explain would there be a chance they would repair or replace (The phone is still in the 1yr warranty)Any advice or assistance would really be appreciated - my long standing faith in APple is dimishing very fast!

Purple Camera Lens Crack--Covered iphone 5

I'm not sure if this is a question anyone can help with, but about a month ago I noticed a mark showing up in my iphone photos. At first I thought it was a dead pixel, but I realized when I zoomed in that it was purple which can only mean its a microscopic crack or scratch in the camera lens. >.<  Idk how it got there, but it's definitely a huge eye sore in my photos. Any advice on what to do in this case? Is this something that would be covered by my phone insurance (my provider is at&t) or something I could visit the Apple Store to have fixed? or is that only covered by Apple Care?

I had my iphone 5 stolen recently

My phone was about to die before it was stolen and now it is dead so I cant call it. I am not sure if I had the ICloud set up or not. I tried to set it up but I don't know if it was completly set up. I have synced my phone into my PC computer before to download pictures. I have my ITunes account set up for my phone on my computer. I don't know how to see if I can use ICloud or the Find My Phone app. If my ICloud wasn't set up is there anything I can do to set it up, find my phone, or restore the pictures from it. I have a lot of pictures on there of my son and I really don't want to lose them. If there is no way to find my phone I have insurance for it but I really want to get my pictures back. If you know any way to help me I would really appreciate it. Thanks

I tried to update my iphone 4 and it just keeps flashing apple logo.

I tried to update the phone to the 6.1 and while in update progress while it shuts down your phone and restarts with the picture of apple logo and now it seems to be stuck there and keeps flashing the logo. I've let the battery go dead and when i plug into computer it repeats the logo flashing, and iTunes does not recognize it and so I can not wipe it out and restore it! Anyone got any ideas? Thanks

iphone 5 dead battery when ever it feels like it

My i phone 5 recently just keeps dying on any %. Today it died at 20% when I try to turn it back on I get the dead battery sign, I just keep trying to turn it back on and after the 5th attempt it's comes back on with a higher %! Any ideas to why this could be happening??

My iphone 4 stopped charging and won't charge anymore ideas

I was charging it and listening to pandora when my phone started to feel really hot! I couldn't really touch it. The USB port that plugs into the outlet was hot, along with the actual USB plug in. And then the plug that goes into the phone was very hot too, and the bottom of the phone where the charger goes in was hot. So, in long story short, everything was hot. That was the first time I experienced that, and it scared me so I quickly unplugged the cord and it started to cool down. Not it is completely cooled, the phone, and the cord, and when I try to plug it in again to charge it doesn't charge. I thought maybe it was just the cord. So I got a different one, and it still didn't work. I even tried plugging it into the computer, and still no luck.  Some additional information, I was using an extension cord, and was laying in bed. I also have been experiencing issues where the phone would be plugged in, and say that 'it is not supported' or something like that, and would stop charging.  And also earlier today I upgraded my phone system to the 6.1.3  Please help!!!!! Will I have to send it in? I hope my phone isn't completely dead! :(

There was a bug in previous versions that could cause the battery to drain rapidly if the phone was linked to an Exchange account and a problem was encountered with a calendar entry that would cause the phone to continually attempt to sync with the server. Other common causes are rogue apps, and corruption during installation of iOS or in the backup used to restore the phone. I'm sorry but I'm going to have to 100% disagree with you on this.  There is something horribly wrong in iOS since I think the 6.1.2 update that my wife's 4S experiences.  She doesn't use exchange so it isn't the exchange bug.  She is constantly killing the running processes to make sure that there are no apps running in the background that would eat up her battery.  Plus they are all (3 of them) the same apps that she used prior to the updates and they didn't cause the drain. There is seriously something wrong in iOS that is the problem.  I let it update to 6.1.3 last night hoping that it would solve it, but no.  It is still having a problem.  Prior to these updates the phone had phenomenol battery life, end of the day she would still have like at LEAST 45% available.  Now, she has to plug her phone in on the commute home because it is almost dead.

iphone 4s won't charge HELP

For the past week my phone has been randomly muting and showing no sign of volume bar. I tried resetting it and turning it on and off but it wouldn't help much. I finally noticed that when I plugged my phone into my speakers the problem was fixed and after unplugging my phone would have a volume bar once again. Today when i went to charge my phone it wouldnt read that it was plugged in and instead continued to lose battery power as if it wasn't plugged in. I tried using multiple cords and different outlets but nothing worked. So now my phone is dead and still not accepting charge. I don't have warrantly because I always take excellent care of my phones and I didn't want to pay for something I most likely would never use. I made an appointment for the genius bar at my local apple store for tomorrow but im incredibly impatient as my phone is my life (I also use it for business). Does anyone have any idea how I could possibly fix this on my own? I do not want to have to buy a brand new phone as I just got this one last summer.

Hi. I dropped my iphone 5 in water and then continued to use it for a while with a blank screen. using siri.. So it works but the screen is dead. I know i should have turned it off but didn't realise at the time. Is this any way repairable? I'm gutted!
