charging iphone and serial number

I am not able to charge my phone, i have tried numerous chargers and resetting my phone by holding down the home button and the top button, and this still doesn't work. I also don't have access to my serial number

I have allready tried holding the home and power butten, and charging. The battery is allready on atleast 80% It just has a blank screen. Its an iphone 4 running iOS 6.1.3. It has not been jailbroken, it was just abit over exposed to the sun on my holiday in bali and has been acting up ever since. Please help! I need my phone by tomorow! Thanks alot

Flaky lightning connector now battery deadflashing iphone 4

I've had a flaky lightning connector on my iphone 5 the past week or two, where the cord must be jiggled around to charge the phone properly, and it's continued to get worse.  Just confirmed with Apple that it'll be getting sent back for warranty work this week (it's a first batch iphone from Sept. '12), so I need to back everything up and wipe the HD.  Last night I ran the battery down (bad idea) and it did something it's never done before - I got the flashing red battery symbol with the cord + lightning bolt.  Tried charging it via wall adapter and USB to my MacBook, and of course, nothing changed, but I also am only guessing that it's charging because the connector is flaky.  After reading some posts of others' ideas on here, I left it plugged in overnight, hoping that it's been charging, and now it's completely dead and unresponsive.  When I jiggle the cord around I get no response.  Is there anything I can do?  Any hope of reviving it so I can wipe it out?  If I use my "find my iphone" app will it still work on a dead phone to wipe it out?

iphone 4s drains fully charged battery within 1 hour after it accidentally plugged into an ipad 3 charger fix

My fully charged iphone 4s used to last enough for 1 day. Today, I accidentally plugged iphone into an iPad 3 charger for about 2 hours, then I noticed that it is getting abnormally hot. After this incident, the phone drains battery by decreasing 1% of the battery every minute. I went to see Apple technical support, who tested and said for certain that the problem was the battery (after assuring me that it should be fine to charge iphone 4s with iPad 3 charger!). After charging me a hefty fee, I left the store, and iphone 4s still drains battery like before. Can my phone be fixed without requiring me to get a new phone? Can I get my money back from Apple techincal support, who gave me a wrong diagosis of my phone?

Can Apple charge for repair of water damage on iphone 5 even though indicator white

A couple of days ago I found what seems to be water damage under my iphone 5 screen although to my knowledge it has not been near water. The phone is fully working and the water damage indicator is still white. If I send this off to Apple and they deem it to be water damage and say they're charging me, is it worth appealing?

Belkin Dock damaged my iphone 's charging port iphone 5

I bought a Belkin Charge + Sync Dock for my iphone 5 (the one that includes the cable) in February. It was a flimsy, crappy device from the start, but I figured I might as well use it.Four months have passed and now the lightning port on my iphone 5 has started to deteriorate very quickly and noticibly. I would only charge my phone with the dock and I wouldn't use the lightning cable that came with my phone or any other cord for that matter. I went on a trip so I took my lightning cable with me and it would only charge at an odd angle. I also noticed the plug was very loose inside the port. This became true with the dock as well. The dock was flimsy and wobbly at the start and now would only charge at a very odd angle too. Any cord I use barely works, and my phone does not charge at night anymore. I know it is not a problem with my cords, because I tried my friend's cords and they also did not work. I know the dock ruined my port because that was the only thing I charged with for four months.Who should I go to for help? Should I call Belkin and ask for a return? Would my Apple 1-year limited warranty (I do not have AppleCare) cover a new phone?

iphone charger won't charge phone but will charge iPad iphone 4S

I have multiple chargers for both my iphone and iPad. Every time I need to charge one of them I have to swap adapters AND cords until I find a pair that works.  For example;  my iPad was charging with regular adaptor and cord, but I needed to charge my iphone.  When I hooked it up to the charger nothing happened. Samething with car chargers. I do see sometimes it will say accessory is not supportd with this device, but why wounldnt it be?  Thats what its made for!  I have like 10 different chargers so it's getting frustrating.  That's enough info, so if u know please help me

Hi all, My iphone will not charge and if i get the charging bolt on it takes around 3 hours to bring the apple logo on the screen but the logo is very blury and really looks like your seeing double but when the logo is on for 2 muinets it switches off and dose it all over again?????? iphone 5 charging Issue

My iphone 5 was charging in my car's cigarette lighter since I got it last Sept.  About 6 weeks ago, it just would not charge in the car anymore.  I have tried different cables and different cars as well as USB adapters to no avail.  My phone WILL charge on my PC and in a wall adapter.. Any ideas why this would happen after 9 moths?

why isn't my iphone 5 charging

My iphone 5 doesnt want to charge. I plug it into the outlet or on my laptop but still doesnt charge. It shows the screen that it is charging but it stays like that for hours but still doesnt work. I have dropped it a couple of times when i first got it but it has been about three weeks since i have last dropped it. i sort of figured if it was because i dropped it, it would have stopped working that same week or so.

iphone 4S Multitouch doest work properly while in charge

it is just recently when i noticed that my iphone 4S doest play so nice with muti touch especially to pinch to zoom on either pictures, ibooks, and webpages,,, when I do multitouch,, the screen just go wild and the images shakes, and worst, the screen doest respond totally in multitouch,, i have no problem in one finger navigations like tap to zoom etc,, it is just the multitouch while in charge.... I have no problem when the phone is not charging it runs smoothly... what could be the problem?? also I notices that after i juiced up the battery a while (after 45mins) the problem on the multitouch seems to disappear, but when you reconnect it again it persist... is there anyone experienced the same? and what would be the solution... apple refuses to accept my complaint because when i brought it to apple store it behaves normally even while in charge,, im using the supplied charger...

Charger issues iphone 5

I'm having problems charging my iphone 5.  The charger sits in the dock but does not charge. If I wiggle the end of the cable, it charges but only if I hold it there - unfortunately I don't have the time to sit charging my phone by hand for 3 hours a day! It is not the cable that is the problem as it does not work with any other chargers in the house. I have an appointment at the Genius bar on the weekend but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

iphone won't Charge iphone 5

Okay so i had problems with my iphone earlier. It would power off randomly when I was or wasnt using it. And i also charged it when I had 30% but on the top right corner for the battery icon, where its suppose to show ' charging ' it showed Fully charged. and after it died, I plugged it back in with it saying its charging. The symbol with a low red battery with a charging sign. It stayed on that symbol for more than 12 hours and never turned on to the lock screen. And if i take it out of charge, it completely shuts off.But when i plug it back in , it has the apple symbol from when you turn it back on after you powered it off. It did that symbol repeatedly. Please help. The problem: Won't charge or turn on to lock screen  Is there anyway I can do it besides taking it to Apple? Thanks (: I don't think I backed up anything, but I maybe did and I have lots of things on my phone. So is there any other solutions that I can use besides restoring it?

iphone 5 Audio Port Issue

When I'm in my car listening to music from my phone with an audio jack it sounds great. But when I plug it in to charge at the same time you get a loud static noise. Does anyone have anything that might fix this? Also I think it's probably from the audio jack and the charging port being so close together.

about a month ago i took a bath with my iphone 5 and didnt realized it and when i came out of the water the screen was black and didnt work and after that i putted my iphone in rice for 3 days so it dryed out but when i tryed to boot it up nothing happend so now after that month i put my iphone on charging for about 12h and when i came back the iphone was really hot and i could hear the speaker when i plugged my iphone in and out but the screen was blue like the starting screen but without the apple logo and i cant fix it. i tryed to restore it and reboot it ovar and ovar again but nothing worked.      ! english may be bad !

Hi, I have an iphone 5 that's about 5 months old now.I bought in India.My phone died last night coz the battery finished..and i have been trying to charge it ever since and it isn't working..I did everything possible(like a hard reset : Holding the home and power buttons down with various time combinations) and nothing worked, it isnt even turning on(Not even the Apple Logo is being displayed).There has been no external damage to the phone in any aspect.I tried charging it using my computer, a wall adapter and a power bank and NOTHING SEEMS TO WORKSomeone Please HELP!

I have been having problems charging my iphone. When plugged to the mains or pc, the phone acknowledges its connected to a power source (can see the "plug" sign and the sound made when the phone is connected to a power source), yet the battery life does not increase. I had kept my phone on charge for over 16hrs and no increase in battery life. Can someone please help me try and sort this problem out?

iphone 4s died at 100 wont turn on or charge even though it was charged.

I have been having problems with my iphone turning off at anywhere from 80-100%, in fact I haven't seen it anywhere near 50%or less in about 2-3 months. Sometimes it would turn back on if I press the power button or home and power button, and would show the same battery % as when it shut off, but would die right away again till I charged it. Sometimes it wouldn't come back on till I put it on the charger. Last night I took it off the charger when it was 100% and went to use an app right awayand it died still at 100%. I put it right back on the charger and expected it to turn right back on or at least turn on in 15-20 min. It has been on the charger sonce last night and still has not come back on, and yes it shows the lightning bolt like it does whenever it is charging, and shows no battery power. I have tried pressing the power button both on and off the charger, tried pressing the home and power button for 15 seconds, and even tried longer both off and on the charger, I have tried changing cords and the adapter, and different outlets, I have tried plugging it into the computer and it again shows the lightning bolt and low battery thing and itunes and the computer doesn't even acknowledge that it is plugged in. I'm confused as to what else I can try. Of course it dies after 1 year warranty is over.

My iphone 5 no longer charging. It'll charge for bit and then pop up will appear saying phone not longer charging because accessory not supported. This third charger I use. What may be causing this

Phone turns off with lots of battery left iphone 4S

My iphone 4S has taken to turning off with as much as 30% power left. When I plug it in again and it comes back up, it will indicate the same power percentage. I have made it a habit of draining the battery at least once a month and then fully charging it (probably that happens more than once a month), so I feel like I've been properly maintaining the battery. I got this when the 4S came out, so it's as old as the 4S model is. Oddly, if I'm on the phone this does not happen. It will run down to 1%. Maybe that's coincedence, maybe not. It's quite irritating - isn't this supposed to be the software/hardware that "just works"? - when you're doing something important and this happens. Today two armadillos appeared in our back yard and I was shooting some video of them. I got a low battery warning - I'm not sure if it was the 10% or 20% warning - but then right after clearing it, the phone shut down. I had some good video, but instead of using the remaining power to save the video, the video was just lost. I had never seen armadillos up close like that and was wanting that video to show my son and some other people, but now due to this problem that video is gone. Thanks a lot, Apple!

4s hissing constantly out of charging port and it very hot

This started completely randomly just now. The charging port is very hot, and it wont stop making a hissing noise at me. Restarting the phone does nothing, and if it is off, the hissing will start whenever the power button is pressed, even if brief enough to not actually turn the phone on. What's going on???

iphone 5 says its charging but just stays at 2 .

When i plug in the iphone 5 to the wall and my computer it says its charging but its stays at 2%. When i plugged it in at night it was at 2% and when i woke up it said it was charging but still at 2%. Ive tried charging it with my mac but still says its charging and is still at 2%. Can someone please tell me how to fix the issue. My phone has always charged normally and now it wont. Ive tried different cords too.

Hi everyone. I actually have a few issues with my iphone and I have tried various things to fix these problems. Yes, I have connected to iTunes through my computer and have download and restored it twice in as many days. Ok, the first one is the touch screen is unresponsive and/or behaves erratically, like it has to think about what it has to do. Secondly, when it is connected to my computer or either one of my chargers, the phone keeps shutting down and rebooting about 15 or so minutes, and the battery percentage level meter doesn't change either. All this started happening at the same time. I was running a battery boost type app which I have since deleted but still no luck, so am I guessing right if its all battery related? Any help, thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated as like many others here, our phones are our life.

My iphone 4s won't turn on after stuck at 1 iphone 5

So my iphone randomly drained to 1% when i came back from school, and i could just charge it and it would be alright, even tough the battery displayed 1%, i could still use it throughout the day. I've had this problem for the third time now. The other times i got this problem i just let my iphone drain untill it was dead, and then waited for a day or so, and then charged it again and it would turn on. But this time it won't work and i can't seem to get it on again and i really need my phone! Since the iphone displays a battery when it's off or drained, i've always tought that there's some battery percentage left to display the image of the battery. So i tried waiting 1 week to see if it dissapeared or not, but it wouldn't. Whenever i put the cellphone in the charger, it displays the battery as if it's charging, but no matter how long i let it charge, it wont turn on! Does anyone have a solution? Could someone explain why the iphone battery percentage sometimes goed randomly to 1%? did i do something for this to happen?

iphone 5 3 problems.

Hey guys Ive had my iphone 5 since the day it came out, so now it had started to have its problems, and more than one. Ive got three:      - brightness turns down automatically to the point I cant see the screen and when I go back to settings the brightness bar is still up to to bright and I just have to touch it for it to come back to normal.          - When I call someone or when someone call me, the place where I should hear them talk back does not work, I have to hear them on the speaker.      - When I charge my phone the lightning connector doesnt have a good connection and cuts out of charging looks like its lose.  Has anyone had one of these problems, and how was it fixed? or when you gave it to Apple, how long did it take to be fixed? or did you get a new iphone? Or feel free just to talk about what you think   Thanks guys!

My iphone 5 wont charge

My charger broke last night so i got a new one today, the man in the shop showed me that the charger he was selling me worked on his phone and was fine, i put my phone on charge an the screen is black, usually you get the charging symbol but im getting nothing? can anyone help? ive tried holding the 2 buttons at the same time for 15-20 seconds and nothing, tried connecting to computer and nothing, the computer doesnt even regocnise that anythings plugged in. Do you think its just completly dead and needs to be left on charge? or its broke? HELP ?? Thank You x

Can explain why my iphone has gone MAD

For the past two days while my phone is charging I have not been able to explain this and sound sane. If I touch the settings icon the camera will open up, if Safari is touched then settings opens, allowing no function be assigned to their icon and it's is really freagin weird. A few times I have tried to power off the phone but won't allow me to slide the power bar off. Holding down the power/homescreen button will restart the phone but right back to madness. Can anyone at all explain what the **** is going on with my phone?? I did notice it with a particular charger and close to 2 other laptops. Not sure, but with my boyfriend around I thought he was playing a joke on me since he is very computer literate but denies anything to do with this and from what I can tell by what I've read it could be the charger? I need to know cause it's not anything I wish to encounter again, If this had video I'd show you. possessed I swear!  

iphone 4s will not connect to charger

My iphone 4s will not connect to any charger I've tried in the last two days EXCEPT my Sony dock at home, but then only after 3 or 4 tries to get it to connect. I have multiple iphone charging cables, and I've tried them all.  I've tried them plugged into the wall and my MacBook. I can't get any of them to connect. At this point I can't even sync or backup to iTunes because the device is not recognized. Any suggestions? 

I recently dropped my iphone 5 into toilet.

I shook water out before submerging it into rice, where its been for almost 48 hours now. I tried plugging it in to charge and it turned on briefly before returning to the no power/charging screen, where it remained for about 10 minutes. I realised it wasnt going to turn on so I have unplugged it and it's back in the rice.Is my phone ressurectable?? What can I do?

Hi, I'm an owner of a relatively new iphone 4S and just out of the blue it's stopped charging last night. I plugged the iphone into my laptop last night- as per usual- and for some reason it showed only the 'plug' symbol and not the lightning bolt.I didn't worry too much hoping it would charge anyway.This morning the percentage has stayed at 30, occasionally dwindling down to 29 then back up to 31. I've changed the USB, the output and tried plugging and unplugging numerous times and now am at a loss!The phone is still recognised by my computer and syncs whenever plugged in.I've done a hard reset soft reset and now all that's left is to restore to factory settings, but I doubt it'll do anything! Please could someone help! Thanks, Rebecca

iphone 5 won't take charge

So a couple of weeks ago my iphone started acting up. *First the screen froze with the iCloud window open and it wouldn't respond. I couldn't text, call, or pretty much do anything. I fixed that by rebooting my phone by holding the home and power button for 12 seconds. Thanks to this community. **Then, the touch screen began to lag. I would try to unlock my phone or text, and the screen would take a couple of seconds before it would respond. Still does that but not as much. ***Next, the battery icon would not respond. I would plug it in to charge and it would show as charging, but the percentage number was not changing. It doesn't show if it would complete the full charge so I had to estimate the avarage time it used to take before it began to mess up. After I would unplug it, it would take a couple of hours to actually show the correct percentage of the battery. ****NOW - it won't charge at all. I am getting very frustrated and don't know how to fix this. I tried the wall charger, the car charger, my macbook, and even my iPad charger plug and none of them worked. It shows that it is plugged in just not charging. I took advantage of that and backed up my phone to my computer but now what do I do. It's not charging at all.  My next problem is that I can't take it to an Apple Store cause the closest one is 4 hours away so I have to take it to the AT&T store.  Is there anything else I can try before I take it to AT&T. Or what can I expect AT&T to do about it?  Luckily, I bought my iphone less than a year ago so that would mean it's under warranty, correct?  HELP!

My iphone 5 is 1 month old. It started getting very sluggish, now reboots itself every few seconds after charging,, battery percentage life showing incorrect percentage, have to power down and back on to see correct percentage. Tried restoring as new phone, did not help, recalibrated battery and it did not help.

i connected my phone to the copmuter to chargethen i tunes asks for an update i strted installing and left it to finish when i came back it said that the update couldnt be finished and that i should try again later but my device is not working at all it just shows yhe i tunes logo on the cover and the usb picture below it. i gess its asking for me to conect it so i did but its just charging with out doing anithyng else and i can't access my device from the computer to search the problem either.HELP PLEASE im desperate!!!

My iphone 4S (roughly four-five months old) when plugged in only charges to 4% and then stops charging and dies. This is the second phone this has happened with and my phone has suffered no damage to my knowledge. Anyone know what is going on?

my charging port broken what should I iphone 5

recently I discovered that my iphone 5 would only charge when the charger was balanced in a certain manner.The cable had to be taut and wrapped around the iphone and thus ensuring that the charger part was in a certain way, as a quick fix I bought a new charger in the hope it would work. It hasn't, any ideas on what I can/should do? My phone is still in its 1 year warranty. Thanks, Pukeyallen
