Iphone 5 Screen Damage Replacement

Hi, I bought factory unlocked Iphone 5 from US in Dec 2012. I came back to India few days ago and accidently iphone's screen got damaged. The phone is under limited hardware warranty with no extra apple care plan. I talked to Apple care in India and they say they cannot replace my damaged phone even if I pay to them Can you please let me know the procedure as on how shall i get my damaged Iphone5 replaced , can i ship it to directly to Apple or do I need to ship it to some of my friend in US or do I have to follow some other procedure? Please suggest. Thanks,Rahul

I bought an iPhone 4 locked to Orange UK why can't it be unlocked

I contacted Orange UK and they said that this iPhone4 is ready to be unlocked, but they can't unlock the phone because I am not the original contract owner. Why can't Apple unlock this phone, because the original owner doesn't care and has sold it? As far as I understand, I am one of at least 3 owners for this phone. I guess there could be more. I just wanted to have a normal iPhone, why can't Apple help on this issue? I have previously had many apple products, this is the first one I bought used adn just wanted to restore it to normal. Another thing is that 3rd party services can unlock it for 200$. What is that they do to unlock it? Why can't apple make a small comission for unlcoking iPhones instead. People find ways to cheat and ripoff people who doesn't deserve to pay extra for the phone they bought. Here is my iPhones description: IMEI: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXSerial Number: XXXXXXXXXXXPart Description: IPHONE 4 16GB BLACK Product Version: 6.0.1 Coverage Status: Out of Warranty Coverage End Date: First Unbrick Date: 29/03/11 Last Unbrick Date: 10/04/11 CTN: 7580088512 Next Tether Activation Policy Description: UK TMobile Orange. To avoid extra charges when I travel, do I turn on airplane mode? Will that automatically turn of voice and data roaming? Should I leave wifi on?

4 month old iPhone 5 with Applecare-Still Â179.99 to replace screen

Hi all, I have an iPhone 5 which is only 4 months old and has full Applecare on it. Unfortunatley I had a horse decide to tread on it and the whole screen has cracked! I've taken it to the Apple Store and they have replaced the whole phone for a new one. Thats brilliant except that even though i've paid extra for the Applecare and its only 120 days old, I still had to pay £179.99! From discussions it sounds like there is an option in the US of purchasing Applecare plus, which also has accidental damage, however surely the UK's applecare should have some kind of accidental damage allowance!? After all we all know how small the chances of a hardware fault occuring on an iPhone and that seems to be all thats covered with Applecare! I'd like to get other peoples views of this please. Don't get me wrong I agree that if you had a phone that was 6 months old or older, or you had decided not to pay a further £99 for Applecare, then i'd expect to have to pay to get the phone repaired/replaced, but it just seems such a waste of money getting Applecare when this is the most common problem thats bound to happen to your phone!

I need to replace my iPhone 4S due to hardware problem. Will I be offered to upgrade to iPhone 5 for an extra fee

Hey everyone. I have an iPhone 4S that needs replacing due to obvious hardware issues (shuts down randomly on its own). I have shown the panic.plist reports that it generates on another forum and they have confirmed the kernel and hardware problem. Since replacing it is the only way to go for me, I was wondering whether Apple still offers the option to upgrade to the next model when going to replace a phone with warranty. What I mean is, if I go to an Apple Store and ask to replace my handset for a new one (with my warranty/receipt) will I be offered to upgrade to an iPhone 5 for an additional fee? Can I ask for this option? Thanks!

Cracked screen on brand new iPhone 5

I bought my new iPhone 5 through Optus and it was delivered Wednesday. I didn't get the extra Apple Care plan, and today, barely 3 days later there is a crack in the front glass!!!!! Can Apple fix this under the standard warranty or am I up for more money already??? It hasn't been dropped or bumped so not sure how the crack even got there? :(

Lost my entire desktop after restoring files with Wondershare Dr. Fone. how to get it back without purchasing their software iPhone 3G

I was trying to recover a deleted text message and used Wondershare Dr. Fone to load previously deleted messages. I didn't find the message that I was looking for, but when I went back to my "desktop" - all my apps were rearranged and there was a photo I had set as the background 2 years ago. When I opened their program again to try and restore my desktop, I was prompted to purchase their software, which I cannot affort to do. Like many people, I rely on my phone almost as much as an extra appendange and am clueless as to how I can recover my icloud, apps, etc without spending any money. Do you have any suggestions. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing

Huge data usage on iOS 6.1.2 with carrier COSMOTE in Greece on iPhone 5

I recently purchased a new iPhone 5 and it seems that I have managed to chew up 6,5 GB of Cellular Data in 7 days of owning it, while spending 80% of my time in WiFi locations (at home or in my office). I usually use around 500MB - 750 MB per month so I am extremely concerned. I contacted my carrier but they said that as I have only recently been added to my price plan they cannot see how much data I have really used until my first bill is printed...In addition their 80% usage warning when you have consumed more than 80% of your data plan doesnt work either because as they stated the system gets confused?!?!. They also told me to switch off Cellular Data as the iPhone 5 will use it when on Wifi...Whats the story on iPhone 5 using cellular data even when on Wifi????? Considering I am about to incur a 450 euro bill for the extra data usage, I would like to know if this a software fault (i.e. iCloud synching being stupid and using cellular data instead of wifi), a carrier settings fault, or simply a Cellular Data counter fault. For other users of the iPhone 5 phone on COSMOTE in Greece using LTE BEWARE! As they have no idea what is going on with this.

iPhone 4 modem

I have an iPhone 4 16 gb who no longer has a warranty. Spontaneously stopped to read the sim card. The Apple service told me the failure of the modem. I was offered an exchange for a new phone with a small surcharge. I want to ask how much is this extra? Can I replace my old iPhone 4 gb on the new iPhone 4s ?

Someone please convince me iPhone 5

...why I should stay with an iPhone? I have always been a staunch supporter of Apple. Every computer and Apple device I've ever bought over the last 20 years still works. I treated myself in December to an upgrade from my iPhone 3GS to a new iPhone 5. The 5 lasted two months. I dropped the phone once, no physical damage. When turned on, the screen now has green stripes and now unusable. I never thought to buy any extra insurance, because I've not had a product break before. I've dropped my 3GS countless times without a problem. I'm so upset that I signed another 2 year contract because of a phone that couldn't take being dropped once. It will cost hundreds to either replace the phone or break the contract to find another phone that may be compatible with my Mac. Thank you for allowing me to blow off some steam. mhh

Interested in Apple development Few Q's iPhone 4S

Hello, Apple user's, I am a 15yr old with a passion for computers & design. Anyways I am interested in developing for the iPhone, as I'll be getting one in a few months. I've never really developed any type of games before, but am in a game design school magnet, and want to begin to learn how to program as I've been meaning to for a while now. I'm interested in developing for the iPhone, and know I need a Mac, Objective-c knowledge as well as XCode knowledge, and a $99 Subscription to be able to sell and test my apps. So here's some questions I've been wanting to ask for awhile...1. Would you recommend a Mac-Mini ? I see i5 Mac mini's on craigslist going for around $400-$450, and know I could afford that. I switch between my mom/dad's house weekly, and have a Windows based desktop that I built w/ monitor at each house, So I'm thinking i could just bring a small Mac-Mini back and forth with me, as they're pretty small.2. Could you guy's point me towards some nice Objective-C or XCode tutorials or books? I've just started spring break and want to take advantage of the time off.3. I'm only 15, so how would I go about selling apps, Ill probably have mostly free apps but would like to incorporate paid versions too, and I know i need to be 18 to sign a contract, would i just get my mom to sign the contract, and if she gets taxed extra I would just pay her the amount she was taxed ? (BTW, I'm in FL)4. How would I sell apps under a company name, I've heard of people trying to list apps and it saying they're real name instead of a company / made up name. There are obvious reasons I'd like to sell an app under a company name, no one wants to buy an app from a company named, for example "Steve". It pretty much set's your app up for failure. Would I have to register all kinds of legal crap just to make it say a developer name like, for example " FunTide Apps".5. If there's any advice you'd like to give to me or info that I didnt ask for PLEASE do, it's greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading, I know the questions are in abundance but I am really excited about starting to develop and have been wanting to do so for a while now !

battery iPhone 5

I updated my iPhone 5 to IOS 6.1.2 on Feb 24th...Several days after that, I noticed the battery was draining quite quickly. Up until this point I could normally get through an entire day using it regularly without running out of juice. The other day I had to drop by the local Apple store to pickup an extra charger so I could charge my iPhone at work as it was dying by lunchtime. Having to charge my phone twice each day is becoming monotonous and slightly rediculous. Oh, and the phone is a lot hotter than it used to be. This is the first problem I've run into with this device so it's dissapointing. I'm hoping someone out there can lend some advise on this. Thoughts??

How to Delete Messages in Spotlight Search History without Resetting or Syncing iPhone 5

I know there are a lot of individuals dealing with this issue and if you are like me you spend hours searching "how to delete messages in spotlight search history" and it seems like every post either says to reset your phone or sync it! I'm sorry but I did not want to go through the hassle of resetting my phone but I did try to sync it which did nothing so I decided to just mess around with my settings and I believe to have found the answer to everyone's question!! This worked for me so I really hope this works for you! Just follow the steps below: 1. Go to <settings><general><spotlight search><uncheck messages> 2. Then turn your phone off and wait a minute! Turn your phone back on and off again 2 or 3 more times while waiting a minute in between turning it off! 3. After you are done doing that go back to step 1 and <check messages>! 4. Now go to your spotlight search and those messages should be deleted! If they are deleted I would recommend going back to step 1 and <uncheck messages> so you do not have the same problem with messages showing up again in the spotlight search! It works for Mail too! Just follow the same steps listed above but uncheck mail instead of messages or do both at the same time!!*Here is an extra tip which will remove deleted Mail Messages, just follow the steps below:1. Go to <settings><mail, contacts, calendars><your mail account> scroll down and click <advanced> Now click <remove> under the title Deleted Messages and you can choose to have your mail removed After One Day, After One Week, After One Month or Never. I hope this post was detailed enough and easy to understand!I really hope it works for you like it did for me! Good Luck!!!

Stream Music from Mac iTunes Library to iPhone

I am looking for a way to stream music via the internet from my Mac to my iPhone. I am definitely not looking for a cloud solution and I am not looking to download the music onto my iPhone. Audiogalaxy worked very well for this and in spite of a few UI idiosyncrasies it gave me access to my iTunes library and any other music in multiple formats I had on a shared drive very easily and dependably. The performance via my cellular network was very good. Audiogalaxy has been sold to Dropbox and support for AG has been terminated. I try not to use orphaned solutions if I can so does anyone out there have a good repalcement? There are quite a few "sort of" solutions out there but I would like to find something that has been thouroughly vetted by the brain trust here and "just works". Without cobbling together a bunch of extra hardware or more than a Mac based server/ iPhone app situation I am ideally looking for a way to stream music stored on my Mac to my iPhone and use my iTunes library WITHOUT having iTunes running 24/7. I find many variations on this theme but nothing that addresses this so far. Sorry if this has been asnswered in the past. TIA,Pete

Locking iPhone via icloud doesn't work iPhone 5

I recently lost an iPhone 5. I went on to my iCloud account and locked the handset via the find my iPhone app. I have since discovered that it's of no consequence at all, apparently. My telco informed me that the SIM was replaced and the phone has been used since then to make calls. Hmmm - bit of misinformation I think - not the theft proof device I'd been told about. Pity, I really enjoyed the extra performance from the new hardware...for all of three days!

Vodafone Italy 4G will work ONLY with iOS 6.1 update iPhone 5

Soooooo, after driving myself crazy with Vodafone italy and their 4G network, i finally have answers that i'd like to share. 1) you must "activate" 4G service, either online (through "190y" on their site) or directly from them (the store, or what i did, they have a live chat feature on their site). 2) you have to wait to receive a text msg saying it has been activated. 3) wait until iOS 6.1 is released (end of the month). I have a factory unlocked iPhone 5 that i bought in italy and have traveled to the states with recently. as soon as i landed i had 4G service, without any modifications or updates or doing anything. i told voda all of this, and after 3 days, i got some answers. after doing some research, basically the new update with allow the 5 to use vodafones frequency. bam. there you have it. no 4G until the update. oh, and you have to pay 10 euro a month extra for it. thanks vodafone :-/

Could I trade in my iPhone 3GS for iPhone 4 Could I trade in my iPhone 3GS for iPhone 4

I've had the iPhone 3GS for 4 years now and I heard off a friend that if you say to apple could I replace my phone you could trade it in and get a brand new one for £120. So if I trade my iPhone 3GS in could I put in extra money to buy the iPhone 4 instead?

How much GB of iPhone 5 should I get

Greetings, Cyber friends! (lol K. That intro did not work >.< )Anywhoo, I'll be getting a new iPhone 5 this week or next week, and I'm torn between the 32 GB and the 64 GB. I signed up a 3 years contract with my local phone carrier, so I need a GB that will sustain my needs for three long years.... -.-I owned a 16GB iPhone 4s for about a month, and quickly filled that up, but I CAN make more space by deleting apps/photos, if I wanted to. But this time is different since I'll be using this phone for a while, and I really don't want to regret the decision of choosing the wrong size.I'll probably have all my favorite songs stored in there because I don't own an iPod and my iPhone will practically serve as one. My iPhone will also serve as my camera since I do not currently own one, and I like to take pictures and videos & just keep them there on my phone. I won't be downloading any movies or music videos (that's for sure) coz I would rather watch videos on my Macbook. Plus, there is also YouTube. ^^ As for games I will probably download a bunch, just the games that I really enjoy and play most of the time, but there are new games every year, and some with bigger sizes than others. Most of my apps will probably just be photo editing apps/video editing apps since I am really into that.Well, that's pretty much it. Money is kinda tight. I can afford a 32 GB, but another extra 100 for the 64 GB, i'll have to work extra hard for that, and I really wouldn't want to waste money if I pick the wrong size. If I end up taking the 32 GB, what happens if I fill that space up quickly and will start hating my phone (lol)? If I end up taking the 64 GB, what happens if I don't fill the space up, and end up regretting paying an extra hundred bucks for spaces I won't even use? Thanks in advance!!

How can I retrieve my security question answers iPhone 5

I recently acquired an iPhone 5 for Christmas and had an apple ID previously on an iPod 4. I entered my account into my iPhone 5 after signing out of my iD on my iPod 4. Whenever I try to download an app it tells me there is extra verification required and it asks me for my security question answers and I don't remember them. How can I retrieve my security questions?

my mail app crashing iPhone 4S

My contacts were slow to load and so I deleted a lot of extra emails that were slowing down my mail program. Then, I restarted my phone and my mail app wouldn't open! I couldn't even click in settings/mail, contacts, calendars. It didn't go anywhere. So, I did a backup to itunes and restored my phone, but the mail app still isn't working! I have a lot of data IN my apps that I don't want to lose. How can I get my mail app to work again AND keep my app data? Thank you!PS: I am running iOS 6.0.1 on an iphone 4s.

Purple flare help iOS 6 iPad s iPhone 4S And 5 Purple flare help iOS 6 iPad s iPhone 4S And 5 iPhone 5

Hello!May I ask a favor from people who have: - New iPhone 4S (bought after iPhone 5 launch day)- Old iPhone 4S (bought prior to iPhone 5 announcement)- iPhone 5 Please take pictures of direct sunlight/focused to the sun AND indoor lighting/focused to the lights in the ceiling, BECAUSE, here's my problem. I've heard about the iPhone 5 purple flare issue. There were multiple guesses on why, it was either a camera software flaw, (as Apple said) the thin and sleek design of iPhones nowadays and, the sapphire lens cover. At first, I was like, it was both a camera software flaw and because of the sapphire crystal lens cover. Then, I didn't mind it at all until when I went outing with my family: I randomly took pictures with my iPad 2 (WiFi+3G, November of 2011, yes, last year) focused on the sun and found a purple color present and recently used the iPad as my camera for my school field trip, and it still had the purple on it. I started thinking the purple thing is from the software the camera is offering and using, but I also was considering that the purple color wasn't as wide, thick and large like the one in iPhone 5 compared to my iPad. When the iPad mini was released, there were vloggers in YouTube posting videos about the 5MP 1080p iSight camera tests of the iPad mini. There were still purple colors of the sun's corona in them. I went iPod touch 5MP iSight camera tests and still saw the same thing, the purple lining. In fact, there were pictures of the iPhone 4S suffering from the purple color, which I assume that the iPhone 4S is running iOS 6 that time, I'm not sure though, it may be iOS 5. So after seeing all these, I've thought, there was one commonality, they were all iOS 6 devices (as I said, not sure with the case of the 4S) But I then considered the larger purple ones in iPhone 5. So I was analyzing, and I came up with this: — The purple color is produced by the camera software provided by iOS 6, a flaw or something.— A larger purple color is much more prominent in iPhone 5 because of it's sapphire lens cover.— The sapphire lens cover in iPhone 5 captures thicker flare than ones in iPhone 4S and iPads, iPod touches.— Meaning, the purple color is present in the thick and extra area of flare, whatever the iOS device is. Tell me what you think. If you want me to explain further through a video or image explanations, tell me! :)Thank you for reading this concern of mine. I hope you take my suggestions and investigations into consideration.

8G not enough on iPhone 4 options

Hi- sorry I don't know if this new-ish phone to me is CDMA or GSM (carrier is Sprint/Nextel if that helps). I got this iPhone 4/8Gig "free" a few weeks ago but I'm finding that between the new, wonderous world of apps now open to me, and my existing music library, 8gigs is coming up short. I don't suppose there is any options increase the space in this device, without getting a whole new device? It sure would be great if it at least had a slot for a micro card for extra storage like on my old, crappy, dumb-phone (which I could use as an oversized mp3 player... if I could only find it.) I'm not a big fan of the new 'cloud' based solutions, as they depend on too many variables that are out of my controll, with the probablility of leaving me without my music. Plus, the delay is anoying. My area is lite on the available technology and cell service. Can an iPhone 4 accept additional memory space upgrades?

iphone 5 verizon free hotspot

How to identify whether A1429 iPhone 5 support CDMA or not

I do have an iPhone 5 purchased at Apple Store in Europe, the version number is A1429. I found there are 2 types of A1429, one supports GSM only and the other one has extra CDMA/EVDO support and several more LTE band. I wonder how to identify them from each other. How do I know if my phone is a GSM 1429 or CDMA 1429?

Think I don't understand warranty. iPhone 4

(I'm too wordy, I know. Sorry. Please forgive my throwing a bit of catharsis in with my query.) Am I missing something? I hear different things from different people & I'm hoping for a final word from an authority. When I got my iPhone 4 at the Santa Barbara CA store 2yrs ago I was told that unless I paid the $100 for an extended warranty then I would only be covered for the 30 or 90 days required by law and I'd be on my own after that. (I don't recall the exact number, just that it was a shockingly short period of time.) I found that surprising because I'd heard such great things about Apple customer service, but I thought that maybe that greatness came at a cost of $100 and no one ever mentioned that part. So when our phones started having trouble within 6 months of buying them I did the repairs myself. I had to replace an unresponsive home button on my phone and had to replace the cell antenna on my wife's phone to fix her reception problems. (Yes, it was in a case. Replacing the antenna fixed it.) Now it's time to re-up my contracts so I'm looking at new hardware and I see one year factory warranty on the iPhone. Those iPhones 4 were my first Apple purchase and since then they've been my only one as I've been thinking this whole time that the only way to get the good service everybody talks about was to pay extra for it. Yes, I understand $100 isn't much if I have to replace the phone out-of-pocket, but an extra $200 over the cost of the phones 'at the register' was too much for me to handle. (I have to admit to harboring some resentment over the whole thing, as if I'd gone to this hot new club everyone was talking about only to find I couldn't afford the cover and had to watch from the outside as everyone else enjoyed themselves.) Is this year warranty a new thing or does this vary by state so that a CA store would say something different? Did I just not understand? Is/was it true that the warranty is the minimum required by law unless you purchase additional coverage? I feel like I'm missing something. Shame on me for taking some random salesdude's word for it and not digging deeper sooner, but that's what I'm doing now. So...?

Why can t we delete alarms in Clock like we can in Mail in iPhone

In Mail, it's quick to delete a bunch of messages at the same time. Click edit, tap tap tap on all the dots, Click DeleteWhy isn't this same interface used in Clock? Just a petty annoyance - I accumulate alarms somehow, and after awhile I've got a long stack and it takes those extra little bit of work to clean out the stack and start again...

Can I still purchase applecare protection plan for my iphone two months after buying it iPhone 5

I bought my iphone 5 when it was released in September but did not purchase the applecare protection plan at the same time. I now want to buy it after realising that I should get extra cover after the one year in warranty. Will I still be covered though after having it after two months already ?

What are these dots on my iPhone 5 S tray

There are these odd white dots on my inside edge of the SIM tray in my iPhone 5. I don't recall seeing these dots in previous generations of iPhone 5. I found a similar thread on MacRumors about this, but there appears to be no answer. Here is a picture: For my iphone, I have an extra dot (so three dots and a line), so it is not exactly the same. What are these? Are these normal? Does your phone's SIM tray have those too? How many dots?

new Iphone 5 charger in keeping with 2014 regulations

The new Iphone 5 charger needs an adaptor which costs extra on top. Is this just a money making excercise on Apple's part? (as if they need to make anymore!) Or, will this bring the chargers in line with the new regulations due out in 2014 when all chargers for all phones need to be the same? I travel all over the world and currently with friend's, family and colleagues who also own Iphones in varying models I can charge up my phone wherever in the world I am. Having already purchased several extra normal chargers for my travel, if I do forget one I can always charge up. This is not about me being tight, just wondering what promted this sudden change, when for the last 4 generations of Iphones have been the same. I also wonder if Apple have taken the environment in consideration here, which is quite an important point. If, when the reguations do come in in 2014 will the chargers change again? What about all of the millions of discarded chargers that will end up in landfill? The regulations will come into effect in just over a year's time, so I'd like to know if the Apple chargers will have to change for the 2nd time in as many years - it's a very irresponsible way of caring for our environment being one of the biggest company's in the world. But I guess a few people complaining about this over pricing/over charging of their loyal customers will more than likely go by ignored as for every customer they lose (refusing to part with their cash on an Iphone 5) there will be 10 others queuing up to buy.

New iPhone 5 Infinite password loop on Apps.

I just recently got my iPhone 5 and I was trying to download some free apps onto it. Here is my problem. I did not have an Apple ID so I created a new one. What happened originally was if I went to the app store and tried to download an app, it would say since my ID has not purchased anything from iTunes I would have to "review" the TOS and agree to them. This page kept giving me an error saying I had to enable cookies, despite the fact I DID have cookies enabled. I got past this part by going to settings then iTunes & App store and putting in my apple ID and PW there which gave me the same message, this time the page did load and I got the whole TOS to agree to and it also asked me for my CC # saying charges would not be filed unless I make a purchase. When I went back to the apps page, it said extra security is needed or something (saying I could put 3 security questions) with the button "Not Now" or "Confirm." Clicking "Not Now" does nothing. Nothing happens on my phone when I press this. Pressing "Confirm" prompts me for my password. I put in my password and... the same box pops up again. I tried this multiple times and it just loops infinitely. Pressing Cancel will basically just quit it. I am NOT putting in the wrong password because I tried putting in random stuff for the PW and if the PW is wrong, it will give me a message that says I put it in wrong. I tried rebooting my phone but I still get the same problem.

Capacity of iPhone and hidden space or programs

My 8GB iPhone 3GS has a total capacity of 6.2GB, as shown in settings of my iPhone. Further, a friend's 8GB iPhone 3GS shows a total capacity of 6.7GB, but after being restored to factory settings with the iTunes in my laptop, its total capacity drops to 6.2GB as well. This is not owing to new version of iOS; indeed, I gave a new 8GB iPhone 3GS to another friend last year, and the iPhone also shows a total capacity of 6.2GB despite its iOS4 (not iOS 5 or iOs 6). Clearly, there is something wrong here. A friend suggests this is a virus that reduces iPhone's total capacity, but Apple technical team hasn't yet been able to figure out a way to clean the virus. Another friend told me rumours about *** randomly select iPhone users to monitor their usage and private activities, and the missing storage space are taken up by these hidden spy programs. For iPhone 5 and 4s users with much larger capacity, this problem cannot be identified because iOS reserves an extra space of 1GB or 2GB in all iPhones, and the spy programs, if they were really here, could hide in such reserve space. Any expert could shed some light on this troubling issue? Thanks!

how we verify new 10 digit Ecuador phone number to use FaceTime iPhone

Ecuador has added an extra digit to mobile phone numbers but apple wont accept 10 digit phone numbers so we cant use facetime or apple IM or verify our new phone number. Can someone at apple please help us?

iPhone 5 cable

My iPhone 5 "lighting" cable has stopped working. This is the one that came with the new phone. Fortunately, I ordered a couple extra cables so I'm able to charge the iPhone. Tried resetting the iPhone, different charging blocks, different USB ports. It don't work! How do I get replacement? Thanks.

Problems with anodized aluminium on black iPhone 5

I was excited to receive my new iPhone5 in black on 21st September 2012 but was instantly worried about scratching the delicate anodized aluminium covering the back (as I'm sure many of you were too!). For this reason I took extra care in keeping it away from any sharp or metalic objects such as keys in my pocket. So imagine my horror when after just 3 weeks the back of my phone developed a couple of, what I can only describe as, wear marks! Are Apple aware of this major design flaw?! Have you had the same issues with your Black iPhone5...?

Why did iPhone 5 prices increase

The iPhone has always been $650 for the 16GB base model, why is Apple charging $50 more now on the iPhone 5 which starts at $699. The Canadian dollar is at $1.02 US and the product is coming from China, so why is Apple stealing an extra $50 from everyone?

iphone 4 vs iphone 4s reception issues

Hello, I have an interesting question... my 2 year old iPhone 4 seems to get better service than my parent's iPhone 4s. I always though the 4s would have better signal since its got 2 antenna. Did i miss a setting or is just pure luck? I dont think its the iPhone as we have 2 4s and both have the same bars but the 4 gets an extra bar. There are some areas of my house where i get service on the 4 but not the 4s. Should i return/exchange them?

Unidentified iTunes charge iPhone 3G

Hi I have 2 subscriptions on my iphone 4S subscriptions list totalling $9.98 per month as one line item on my credit card bill. I agreed to these charges and want the content. But I also get charged an extra $3 per month in a separate iTunes line item and I can't identify what this is - it doesn't appear on my subscriptions list. My subscriptions list only shows the 2 subscriptions totalling $9.98. How do I identify/cancel this extra $3 charge? Mike

iPhone 5 3G Signal Strength

Hi, My iPad 2 and iPhone 5 are both on the same network (Three UK). I have noticed that my iPad manages to maintain a better signal than the iPhone - typically displaying an extra bar and when in areas of poorer coverage my phone drops to No Service before the iPad. I realise the two have very different antennas but was just curious to know whether it is usual for the iPad antenna to perform better in terms of signal strength? The strange thing is that when right next to each other, even when I have more bars on my iPad than my iPhone, the iPhone performs substantially better in bandwidth and ping tests, which makes me wonder whether the algorithm for calculating the number of bars in iOS 5.1.1 (which is on my iPad) is slightly different to that in iOS 6 on my iPhone. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Ed.

iPhone 4 to iPhone 5 Upgrade

Hello everyone, I have a question that I can not seem to find an answer to. I recently dropped my iPhone 4 on the sidewalk, and the front screen is totally smashed. I have an appointment at the Apple Store tonight, and I am wondering if they can upgrade me to an iPhone 5? I was informed that to get a new iPhone 4, it would cost approximetly $150. Can they upgrade me? I would not mind paying any extra, as long as it's not an absurd amount (i.e. $699) Thanks!

Can I use VoIP at home and prepay service outside with same number iPhone

Hmm... After doing a ton of searching over the net, I cannot seem to find a simple answer to this. I want to setup to a prepay plan for my daughter. After doing a lot of research I have settled on using a used AT&T iPhone 4 with the Straight Talk plan from Walmart. But ther is one problem. Straight Talk uses the at&t network and we have no reception at home. So I would like to phone automatically switch to using wifi when at home, just like it does for data. From what I understand, this means getting a VoIP system going somehow. But when I go to the app store the number of VoIP apps is bewildering. I would like to use something that will make it completely transparent, ie keeping the same iPhone number, being able to text msg and all. Is that possible? Can I do that with a known quantity like Skype or vonage? Is there some extra hardware required? Can I keep my number? Any other recommendation? My ISP is Cox communications and my wifi is through an Aiport Extreme. Thank you for any help in this rather confusing issue. Bo.

IPhone 5 restore on IPhone 4

Basically, a bit of back story. I had a IPhone 5, I had numerous issues such as WiFi not working, or extreme load times (some apps took 2 days to download.) My AT&T data connection consistently dropped, for no apparent reason. Another IPhone user in the house was not having issues with it, so it is likely not tower related. I also had a ghosting image when typing in the App store. Some problems, to say the least. I spoke with an Apple rep, and they set me up with a repair. I live 50 miles from the nearest physical Apple store, so I opted for the mail in option. I backed up my IPhone 5 last night to my ICloud account. After sending back the IPhone 5 today, I chose to use my old IPhone 4 that I had previous to my 5 for my temporary phone. After getting it activated, all that fun stuff, etc. I restored my IPhone backup from the cloud, specifically my IPhone 5's backup to my IPhone 4 it worked pretty well. All my settings/music/apps/etc. were restored. The issue that is arrising, as when I had the longer IPhone 5 screen, I had opted to use the extra row of apps. I now am back to the IPhone 4 without the extra row of apps, however, my restore did not auto relocate my apps (specifically folders actually, so a lot of apps) to a second or third screen, but rather has them now hidden in a non-existent extra row that would be visible on the IPhone 5. The apps are installed on the phone, as I am able to use spotlight and they do return in the search results. However.. I have no other way to access them. I would rather not backup from my IPhone 4 backup from a few weeks ago, or a fresh installation, as not to lose data. Is there anywhere to fix the settings, or cause them to auto relocate? I have checked my ITunes App tab as well. It has the same symptom.

iPhone 5 has extra plastic protector at back

Do you need to take it off so it will be flat?

iMessage automatically turns off in settings iPhone

So I updated to IOS 6 and I noticed most of my text (not all) are being sent as texts instead of iMessage. I know the people I am texting have iMessage, but most of my text are still being sent to them using text messaging. How can I prevent the iMessage button under settings from automatically switching off. This is also causing me extra money if I go over my 200 messages that I have on my account. I have the 200 messages as extra for the people I text occasionally with that do not have apple products.

iPhone 5 won't sync with iTunes

So, got my 32GB iPhone 5, had been waiting for ages, really excited. I went for the 32GB one because the 16GB in my 4 didn't seem to be enough to store my apps and my 8GB of music. So, of course, set it up out of the box, icloud synced over my music purchases and everything else, so far so good. Then I plugged it in to my mac to sync the rest of my music (I have downloaded a meagre 67 of my 1100+ songs from itunes, the rest come from CD's)I got a message telling me to upgrade to iTunes 10.7, as my phone wouldn't work with 10.6Oh No.This is what I had been dreading. My Trusty Dual 2GHz PowerMac G5 can't sync with my phone.Back to my 6th gen nano for music then, which is annoying. I had paid the extra money for more memory in the hope I would no longer have to carry two devices around.I understand why they've done it, iCloud removes the need to sync with iTunes, but I've been left with a fraction of my music library. If the iPhone won't sync, We can assume that future phones and iPods won't sync either.Having spent several months saving up for my new phone, there's no way I can afford to make the switch to intel, which seems like the only solution. What else can I do?
