Flaky lightning connector now battery deadflashing iPhone 4

I've had a flaky lightning connector on my iPhone 5 the past week or two, where the cord must be jiggled around to charge the phone properly, and it's continued to get worse.  Just confirmed with Apple that it'll be getting sent back for warranty work this week (it's a first batch iPhone from Sept. '12), so I need to back everything up and wipe the HD.  Last night I ran the battery down (bad idea) and it did something it's never done before - I got the flashing red battery symbol with the cord + lightning bolt.  Tried charging it via wall adapter and USB to my MacBook, and of course, nothing changed, but I also am only guessing that it's charging because the connector is flaky.  After reading some posts of others' ideas on here, I left it plugged in overnight, hoping that it's been charging, and now it's completely dead and unresponsive.  When I jiggle the cord around I get no response.  Is there anything I can do?  Any hope of reviving it so I can wipe it out?  If I use my "find my iphone" app will it still work on a dead phone to wipe it out?

Iphone 5 Charging Issue

My Iphone 5 was charging in my car's cigarette lighter since I got it last Sept.  About 6 weeks ago, it just would not charge in the car anymore.  I have tried different cables and different cars as well as USB adapters to no avail.  My phone WILL charge on my PC and in a wall adapter.. Any ideas why this would happen after 9 moths?

Today I had my iPhone 5 replaced at an apple store and when I attempted to restore it after leaving it started asking for the password to my old apple id address even though I changed the email address months ago. Is there anything I can do? I really don't want to lose my 100's of pictures. Please and thank you. I'm stressed out about this.

Hi, I have an iPhone 5 that's about 5 months old now.I bought in India.My phone died last night coz the battery finished..and i have been trying to charge it ever since and it isn't working..I did everything possible(like a hard reset : Holding the home and power buttons down with various time combinations) and nothing worked, it isnt even turning on(Not even the Apple Logo is being displayed).There has been no external damage to the phone in any aspect.I tried charging it using my computer, a wall adapter and a power bank and NOTHING SEEMS TO WORKSomeone Please HELP!

I have been having trouble with my iPhone - sudden decrease in battery life, apps not working, Wifi not working, iCloud not working (don't ask me why, but when I go to Settings>iCloud>Storage and back up, the toggle is off and greyed out, giving me no option to turn it on). I was advised to back the iPhone up on my mac, reset the iPhone to factory settings and then restore it from the Mac.  So, all my apps have come over, but none of my contacts, SMS's, nothing. I can probably live without the SMS's but it will take me a long time to re-enter all my contacts.  However, they are all still in the Mac.  But I can't work out how to get the Mac to send the addresses back to the iPhone.   As previously stated, the iCloud doesn't work, so I can't use that.  I looked through previous entries and the advice was: Open iTunes. Connect the iPhone. Select it under the Devices heading in the iTunes sidebar. Click on the Info tab in the main window. Check the Contacts box then sync. However, when I do this it say in contacts "your contacts are being synched with your iPhone over the air, over-the-air sync settings can be changed on the iPhone" But I don't want them synched over the air, because over the air (I assume this is iCloud) isn't working.  How do I set it (either iTunes or the iPhone) so that it synches, via USB cable, with the contacts on my Mac? I am totally, utterly confused and a bit cross as I am now worse off then before I reset the phone and was told that it would just back up from the computer.  And even more annoyed when I know the data I want is all still there (on the Mac in address book), I just can't drag it across.

Sir I have purchased Iphone 5 on 3rd May 2013 from Ansar Galary, City Cetre Doha. On 1a June adopter for charger is burned. When I visited Store to exchange the burned adopter, Anser gallary managment refused to replace/repair. They informed that no waranty for adapter. When I requested about complain for the same they refused to give any acknowledgemwnt for my coplain Now I want to knw that is it Apple started selling a product which cannot work for more than a month? If not what is the arrangment for replacement for faulty acessories? Is apple is going to take action against orgainagation/group who is responsible for packin/selling fauly acessories.

iphone 4s died at 100 wont turn on or charge even though it was charged.

I have been having problems with my iphone turning off at anywhere from 80-100%, in fact I haven't seen it anywhere near 50%or less in about 2-3 months. Sometimes it would turn back on if I press the power button or home and power button, and would show the same battery % as when it shut off, but would die right away again till I charged it. Sometimes it wouldn't come back on till I put it on the charger. Last night I took it off the charger when it was 100% and went to use an app right awayand it died still at 100%. I put it right back on the charger and expected it to turn right back on or at least turn on in 15-20 min. It has been on the charger sonce last night and still has not come back on, and yes it shows the lightning bolt like it does whenever it is charging, and shows no battery power. I have tried pressing the power button both on and off the charger, tried pressing the home and power button for 15 seconds, and even tried longer both off and on the charger, I have tried changing cords and the adapter, and different outlets, I have tried plugging it into the computer and it again shows the lightning bolt and low battery thing and itunes and the computer doesn't even acknowledge that it is plugged in. I'm confused as to what else I can try. Of course it dies after 1 year warranty is over.

How to upload iOS 1.0 on my iphone 4

Is there any way I can upload the original iOS 1.0 software on my iPhone 4? If so, can one of you more experienced Apple users please walk me through the steps on installing it?  I loved the original 1.0 software; it was simplistic yet very functional. However, the original iPhone I once had is now defunct. I currently have an iPhone 4 and would like to return to using iOS 1.0.  I'm also not really interested in the new upgraded version of iOS that was detailed in today's keynote address.  I hope someone is able to help me with this. I'm looking forward to returning to the days that once were...the days of iOS 1.0!

Apple ID problem iPhone 3G

When setting up my apple ID i put in the wrong email address initially, I typed it wrong. I resolved this by correcting it with the right email address then popping in the correct password. Everything seemed fine initially. But now I keep getting Apple ID popping up with the wrong email address asking for the password (which doesnt exsist). It doesn't affect anything as when it matters, eg app store iCloud etc, it always asks for the password for the correct email address. But this window will pop up constantly, whether I'm in settings, App Store, iMessage.  I've tried looking for a way to stop it from popping up but can't seem to see anything. I really don't want to have to reset my phone so hoping someone out there has some useful advice for me...

How I make Apple Maps Default Map on my iPhone

I am not here to discuss pros and cons of Apple Maps vs Google Maps, for dev purposes I need to clear Google Maps as the default map on my iPhone. If you have Google Maps on your iPhone and are browsing with Safari and click a link to an address you will be prompted by Google to "make Google Maps the default".   Having done this how do I now remove Google Maps as the default or otherwise return Apple Maps to the default map on my iPhone? Thank you

Can explain why my iPhone has gone MAD

For the past two days while my phone is charging I have not been able to explain this and sound sane. If I touch the settings icon the camera will open up, if Safari is touched then settings opens, allowing no function be assigned to their icon and it's is really freagin weird. A few times I have tried to power off the phone but won't allow me to slide the power bar off. Holding down the power/homescreen button will restart the phone but right back to madness. Can anyone at all explain what the **** is going on with my phone?? I did notice it with a particular charger and close to 2 other laptops. Not sure, but with my boyfriend around I thought he was playing a joke on me since he is very computer literate but denies anything to do with this and from what I can tell by what I've read it could be the charger? I need to know cause it's not anything I wish to encounter again, If this had video I'd show you. possessed I swear!

I have recently moved from England to Hong Kong. I know the plugs are the same, but the voltages are different. I know the voltages are different because I checked on various websites. I once took my iphone to france without the world travel adapter, and it broke the iphone. Is this why they sell the world travel adapter kit? I'm a bit scared to charge it in HK, and have been doing so throught my computer, as they have a transformer incorporated. Is using the HK to england an exception??? Can anyone help?

iMessage Q--won't activate-even after following all instructions via Apple site iPhone 5

Trying to get iMessage to work on husband's iPhone 5.Followed these instructions. http://support.apple.com/kb/ts4268 All attempts failed. Image on this page http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5538 shows that the phone number needs to be checked also.  Mine is grayed out so I cannot check it. I have already activated (months ago) my phone number and email with Apple, but only reason I am questioning how to activate iMessage is because someone tried to send me a message and I never received it.  They had to call to find out why I didn't respond. I've followed all instructions on the links I've listed above, but still does not activate.  Iphone 5About this iPhone: V 6.1.4 (10B350); carrier AT&T 14.0. iMessage under settings > waiting for activation; send and receive: email correct and verified; phone number does not have a check after it like the image shows at the above link. On my iphone 4, the phone number is checked along with the email address.So I'm thinking there must be an issue with the phone number in order to get iPhone iMessage to work. Not finding anything about that on the Apple site or Googling either.

iPhone 4S iOS 6.1.3 WiFi Grayed Out iPhone 5

My cousin have this problem after she update her iPhone's iOS to 6.1.3 last month and then after it she notice that the WiFi on her iPhone was grayed out we try to Reset network settings, try to reset all settings and try to reset the iPhone by holding down the power button and home button at the same time but nothing happens and also we try to restore the iPhone on iTunes but still nothing happens. Her iPhone still have a WiFi Mac address but restore on iTunes didn't work so please help us to resolve this problem.. Thanks.

I recently changed my apple I.D. to a different e-mail address because the one I had was hacked. I recently went to the Apple Store because my iCloud wasn't connecting and backing up my other stuff. So, they deleted the account and connected me to the account under my new e-mail. Everything is working fine. All of my stuff is still the same and nothing has changed. However, my Facebook app isn't working when I try to connect it to other apps such as Pinterest, Twitter, and Vine. When I go to my settings, and then to Facebook, it says "There was a problem accessing your account. Please reenter the password:". I have tried to enter my password multiple times and it doesn't work. I have tried my old password too, and still nothing. I changed my Facebook e-mail and password after my e-mail got hacked. I changed my Facebook e-mail when my e-mail got hacked, and I also changed my password. So, does anyone know what to do? I'm getting very frustrated.  Thanks, Jackie

Battery not charging iPhone 5

The iPhone5 is less than 6 months old. After I downloaded some photos to my computer through the USB, I then needed to recharge my iPhone5. So, I removed the cord from the USB port plugged it into the adapter and then plugged into a wall receptacle. After more than 8 hours it has not charged. The symbol shows it is charged but the battery icon shows only 29% and it continues to decline when used. Any ideas on what to do other than taking it to the store. Thank you for any assistance

iPhone 5 charging problem

Hi. I have a iPhone 5. When I plug my phone In to charge it charges fine but it has to be plugged in perfectly straight. If I move or knock the charging adapter in the phone it will stop charging even though it is still plugged in the phone. The adapter seems like it only can be charged when it is in a certain position. This is obviously a fault. It is not my adapter as I have tried several different ones. There must be something wrong with the charging port on the iPhone. What I would like to know would this be coved under apples warranty?

VZW iPhone 5 will not pick up LTE when s removed and put into Galaxy Nexus then back into iPhone 5

I have a VZW iPhone 5 activated as my main phone, I also have a VZW Samsung Galaxy Nexus that I use a sim adapter and swap the sim to. When I swap the sim from the iPhone 5 to the Galaxy Nexus for a day or so then back to the iPhone 5, I cant pickup LTE signal, it just stay at 3G. Although if I put the sim back in the Galaxy Nexus it still picks up LTE. The only way i can get the LTE back on my iPhone 5 is by going into VZW and getting a new sim card activated, in return kills my old sim card. Any ideas or help?? iPhone 4s Software Update fail from 5.1.1 to 6.1.3

Hey everyone I have been holding back from updating my iOS on my iphone 4s (I know - not a smart move) I am currently still on 5.1.1 and trying to update to 6.1.3 (finally) from the phone itself (not via iTunes) I am trying to downlaod and install the update using Wi-Fi connectivity, but it just wouldn't let me? Kept saying An Error occured while downloading... It didn't give me any error code or any other explanation. It just simply won't update  I know it was silly of me to begin with for not updating for so long, but I don't understand why my phone is rejecting the update? If this is even what is happening..  Also I sent my iMac for repair recently, came back with a Lion (which was what I had on there previously anyway) but it wasn't updated? So I couldn't just open iTunes and restore all my contacts..  AND I am still currently in the process of downloading the updates - but something always happens as well, an error occured that I have to re-download the update, internet drops on and off, etc.  -- The reason I wanted to update was (this is a whole separate problem) my 4s kept crashing the apps, not doing anything out of ordinary - it just crashes everytime i start or a open an app. So I would hard reset my phone (turning it off and on again) and then I would find all my contacts gone. No other entries are gone, just my contact names! All messages and calendar entries are all still there - just no contact names in my address book. ***? After sleuthing here and there, and found no real solution to this problem. I decided to update my iOS because one of the discussion thread I found told me to try that. Heck, why not.  SO I tried uploading and this is where I end up..    Does ANYONE have any idea what the **** is going on? Does anyone else out tehre have the same problem? Surely this is not just me!!

I went to bed with iphone charge at 40%. I woke up during night to see what time it was and picked iphone up and it was dead.No life...dead as dead is going to get.  I plugged it in with charger still not responding..Tried another cable and charger module....Still dead after being plugged in for 15 minutes. This phone is only 2 months old. I am an IT manager and i have deployed these to fellow workers and my entire family.This is my 3rd iphone 5.. All of mine were returned because of defects and failures., Others in my family and workforce have had problems also.I have had every iphone model ever issued and never with any of them had problems.Iphone 5 is just not good. I always drain it to below 15-20% and let charge to 100%.  This time could it be a defective battery?

iPhone 5 won't charge correctly. Only charges when I put pressure to one side on the connector. I know you're thinking "It's the cable or the wall adapter. It's not. I have 5 genuine apple lightning cables, happens with all of them whether plugged in to an ac outlet, USB on a pc, or in my car. This is my 3rd iPhone 5 since my original purchase in October.  The other 2 phones failed with this exact problem. The last time, I took the non charging phone in to a Verizon store (no apple stores near me) and asked them if they had seen it before, they told me that my phone was the only one they ever seen with that issue. So they offered to call apple and ask if this is a known issue with iPhone 5's, they also responded that they haven't seen this issue. Is this true? Am I the only one with this issue, for 3 phones in a row?? Seems unlikely. Anyway, I ask if anyone else has had this happen because if this is in fact something that happens often, I'm going to get a different phone. I love my iPhone 5, but not enough to go through this every month or two.

We have an unlocked Iphone 5, numbers were brought into the device from windows live. Incoming calls from international numbers will show only the incoming caller id, but not the name, even though they are in he address book. We tried to add the "+" to beginning of the number already.

My iPhone will only charge when connected to a computer. It was fine this morning and then suddenly it wont charge when connected to adapter for a wall plug or in my car. I have tried 2 different USB cables and they both work with the computer but not the adapter for a wall plug or in my car. I have connected my iPad to both cables and the adapter for the wall plug and it charges just fine. Its just my phone, not the cables, not the adapters.....So has anyone else had this issue? Should I reset the phone? I was hoping to not have to go that far, but I'll do what I have to do. Or do you think my phone is broken?

My iPhone 4S will only display the low battery screen even after charging it to both my computer and the wall adapter for several hours (over 8).  Any attempts to restart it have failed, and it won't show up in iTunes for a restore attempt.  Is there anything else I can do?

4S not charging

Have to wait for iPhone to be dead or off to see that it has a connector plugged in. When dead it charges until it turns on then stops charging. Have had this problem on and off for a year, never got it fixed or seen as it costs more than I can afford.  The following has been tried and did not work : -apple power adapter w/apple connector-3rd party power adapter-apple and 3rd party connectors-plugging into laptop/computer/docking station Have tried multiple cables, chargers and computers.  The phones never really liked charging properly. Im surprised its lasted this long. running ios 6.1 (10B142)  Any help would be awesome.

Why are notes made on my iphone automatically e-mailed to me? I got 40+ e-mails, stunning. How can I sync / copy-paste my notes from my iphone to my Mac in .pages format?Or is it better to sync from notes (iphone) to notes (MacBookPro) first, and copy paste to Pages? Then, how to sync from notes to notes? Also, I have heard I should be saving the notes on my icloud account. I have created one, but how could you save your notes on the iCloud? I can t connect to my wifi iPhone 3G

I'm on my iPhone 4S and I can't connect to ANY app that uses wifi, including the iTunes store. I keep getting notifications that I need to check my Internet connection (I have it on my phone) and that my phone wasn't sure if itunes.apple.com was really iTunes' web address (oh come on!) It's storming here where I am in Tennessee now, and I figured that might be part of the problem. But is it?  I've reset the network settings, and it still says it. What could the problem be? I've even tried turning off the wifi and using 4G and nothing happened.

iPhone 5 has wrong apple ID email address it my phone but has son s email address-now I cannot update anything

The apple ID associated with my iphone is showing up as my son's ID for his iPod Touch 5th gen.  When I look into the settings everything is set to my email address, but when I attempt to update it shows his email address and says I have the wrong password.  I did not have this issue until I updated the iOS system.  Can anyone help?

iPhone 5 batterycharger problem

About a week ago, my iPhone 5 charger started going in and out. After about three days, it stopped working completely. Assuming that it was just a short in the cord, I just went to buy a new one. The store I went to had sold out of just the plain lightning cord, so I bought an offbrand adapter to the old 30 pin chargers. Of course, two days later, it stopped working, broke off into my phone, and I had to pull it out with tweezers. I found an offbrand lightning cord at a gas station for pretty cheap, and it seemed to work fine. But the day I started using it, after my phone had been running for the day, my battery was at 12% and out of nowhere skipped to 1%. I had no apps running, and that has never happened to me before. Could the problem be with my phone or the offbrand charger? I have plenty of friends who use offbrand iPhone 5 chargers and haven't had a problem like this.

Cannot Restore Corrupt Backup after upgrading to 6.1.3 iPhone 4S

My wife needed to make space on her Iphone because of the many videos she had on it. When she plugged the phone into our iMac, running 10.8.3, and connected to iPhoto to transfer the videos over the upload started as it normally does. However, during the middle of the transfer iTunes interupted and INFORMED my wife that the phone was now upgrading to the newest software version (6.1.3)being as we usually keep our phones up to date with upgrades anyways we didnt think much of it. Unfortunately during this process the software update failed and the phone crashed. We were left with two options "restore from backup" or "restore iPhone." We tried several times to restore from the backup and we received the same error message every time "iTunes could not restore the iPhone because the backup was corrupt or incompatable with the Iphone that is being restored." I went into my library and checked out my backups folder and I saw that there were two new backups there for my Wife's phone. One time stamped at the exact time the phone crashed and one from the last time I tried to restore(after the phone crashed). We finally decided that there must have been a glich with the softwarre download, since it didn't complete, so we decided to "Restore Iphone" hoping that a corrected software would then allow us to restore from the backup properly. So the phone was wiped and reset with the new software, and we still cannot access the backup that we need. Though it is extremely frustrating that the videos of our toddler are gone, it is very important that we somehow find a way to access the information in the non corrupt backup files, her address and phone books as well as past text messages and calendars. I went to a site called iphonerecoveryonline and followed their protocol and I was able to see that all of the aboved mentioned information is still in those backups, but I have no way, with out paying these people $20 per file, to return that info to her phone. I would rather not have to pay to recover this info, but I guess that may be my only option? Any advice, experience or reccomendations would be greatly appreciated.

My wall adapter doesn't charge my phone iPhone 4S

I just got a new wall adapter for my iPhone 4S and it won't charge my phone I know the charger works because I tried it on my iPod .
