After ios 6.1.3 my battery is getting worse!Yesterday I switched off my phone with 30-32% of battery, this mornig I switched on and the battery was 20%: during the night it lost about 10% of charge without using it!And another problem is the recharge of battery: now the battery recharge in about an hour from 5% to 100%, before the update was about 2,5-3 hours. What can I do?When will apple solve this problem with a new upgrade??
i have an iphone 4s , of course the warranty expired a little over a month ago. The slider mechanism does not work. I've tried turning the phone on and off, restored to factory settings. nothing seems to work. I've never dropped the phone or had any kind of water damage. I've taken the phone to the Apple store. They have opened it , No damage has been done to it whatsoever but they won't replace it unless I pay $200.00 , which I can't afford right now. very frustrated. Any other suggestions?
My iphone was completely submerged in water last night. I put it in rice. Everything seems to work properly. But there is what appears to be water under the iphone screen. In the very middle of the water, it is blue. What does thar mean? Will it go away? Can I help make it go away? Will my Apple insurance plan cover this? Please help!!
SO here's what happened, I was texting a friend and listening to music on my iphone... Then all of a sudden I get this pop up notification that says "This adaptor is not supported" I didnt have my phone plugged in and then all of a sudden it turned off and will not start back up. I tried the following:Charge my phone for an hourPressed the sleep/power+home button for 20 secondsPressed the home button and plugged it in my computer while doing so Now with that said, I need to know the following:Is there hope for my Phone? And if I have to replace it, can I go to my cell phone provider-ATT and have them replace it ( I have insurance on it) because the closest Apple store to me is 3 hours away. All the advice the better!
Please help - My iphone 4 intermittently stops making and receiving calls/texts without warning, the phone will have a full signal and could be anywhere in the country but when you try to make a call it won't do it. If you then ring the phone it is as if it is turned off, if you then turn the phone off then on again it works perfectly well until the next time which might be in days or hours. T -Mobile talked me through a reset but this has not worked and Apple want a fee to help further as the phone is 22 months old, it is however little used and still looks new. Any help appreciated
I dropped my phone into the toilet. I got it out as quickly as possible, but it did get submerged. When I got it out, the screen turned on by itself, but I didn't think much of it, and I stuck it in rice for a few hours. When I went to check on it, it seemed fine, as the screen turned on and all the buttons seemed to be working, other than being slightly laggy. The volume buttons worked, but the didn't seem to do anything to the volume. The speakers worked as well, and even the vibrating part did. the lagging didn't get any better though, so I decided to see if reseting it would work. It turned off fine, and the apple symbol came up, but that was where it stopped, and it now will not turn on. I checked the LCI in the headphone jack and the charging slot, and the one in the headphone jack has a tiny pinkish-red dot, and the one in the charging slot doesn't look red at all. I stuck it back into the rice just in case. Can anybody help with my situation?Just some info, up until I put my phone into the rice the first time, I was mostly in full panic mode, and even after I put it in the rice, I kept checking to see if it worked by pressing the sleep button. I'm pretty sure I did everything I'm not supposed to do, but what can I say?
I purchased my iphone 5 in January 2013 in India. For past couple of months, my phone camera dies frequently. The first time it happenned, I update the phone with iOS 6.1.3 and it started working. Next time when Camera was not working then I reset the phone and it started working, Now, I have the same problem, when I open the camera, shutter does not open and I am not able to click any picture. Does anyone has a similar problem with their iphone 5? I never had this problem with my iphone 3GS. Please reply. Thanks,-Upanshu
On May 18, 2013: Yesterday my cousin and I tipped our canoe while on a river. We had our electronics in a ziploc bag which included my iphone 4S. We managed to save almost everything including the ziploc bag. We were stuck floating down the fast moving rapids for atleast 30 minutes keeping firm grip on everything. Once our fellow canoe group caught up with us we put everything in their canoe and made a pit stop. There we put the electronics out to dry (only a little bit of water got it). I managed to send one quick text out and tried hard to shut off the phone but it kept rebooting. When we got back to my grandma's house I investigated the iphone. It was on and working BUT the flash was stuck on and the power button didn't always work, water behind the lower part of the screen I tried hard to turn it off but it just kept rebooting. With no rice I just layed it out in the sun for an hour. About 2 hours later we rushed to the mall and went to the Apple Store. They checked the status of the warranty and it just expired 5 days ago. Ugh.. So they just told us there was little they can do and they will replace it for $200.00. At this point I didn't want to give up. At the Apple Store the iphone was having such a melt down. The Apple employee struggled to keep it on as it kept turning itself off (power button issue). Everything else was functional besides the back camera full of water vapour and LED light. About 3 hours after that I got home I put the phone in rice. I noticed the phone some how got into recovery mode. Over night and about 24 hours later I took the phone out of the rice plugged into iTunes on my iMac. It was just on recovery mode asking me to recover it on iTunes. It wouldn't work because it kept going into UNKNOWN ERROR 2001 and UNKNOWN ERROR 2006. I read somewhere a fix can be putting it from recovery mode into DFU mode. But remember the power button isn't still working so it is impossible to go into that mode. I think I got it once but still had the same errors. I am not ready to give up. I know there is no such thing as minor water damage but it really does seem minor because everything was functional just the phone put itself into recovery mode with a messed up power button. I'm asking what I should do now. I really don't want to spend $200 for another iphone 4S when the next generation iphone will come at what ever time. It seems pointless getting an old phone than a new one. I just want to be able to use this one until then. Thanks for reading my rants. Brady
Some help would be greatly appreciated !
Take your time to write a thoughtful comment on a video, hit send, and it's gone, "youtube is not available". It happens frequently on the iphone app yet never happens on the desktop site. This bug has followed the youtube app across multiple phones (OG & 3G), multiple OS updates, and still happens randomly. Not having a feature is better than one that frequently doesn't work, and frustrates, as well as wastes your time...I'm so ready to checkout the latest from HTC I copied this question from an archived thread from 2009. I'm having the same issue. I comment on YouTube a couple of times and it's fine, the third time it completely blocks me. It's very frustrating. Looking at the replies from 4 years ago it seems that its definitely the app that has the issue, not the main website. Something to do with capture was the solution last time. Why do I have this issue now, does anyone else have this problem?iPad 3' iphone4sPlease sort it out, it's getting hard to defend iphone these days!
I got a small amount of water in my iphone, at first i thought it was ok but after about half hour the water had spread through my screen, and it started going blotchy and cloudy. The touch screen still works, speakers, charger, camera etc. Only thing is phone wont turn off? I tried the rice for a few hours but didnt do much. Does the apple warrenty cover water damage if not how do i get this repaired?
My iphone 5 is one month old and I cannot talk for 2 hours without my battery dying. It wasn't like this when I got the phone last month but in the last week - it won't hold any charge. My OLD iphone that is 2 years old has a longer battery life than this with tons of use. I have been turning ALL of the apps off (which i should not have to do with a one month old phone) and I still can;t get 2 hours of use without the battery dying on me. tI's starting to annoy me and if my battery is bad I just want to go get a new phone. Is anyone else having this issue or does anyone know how to check to see if my battery is bad? Any ideas is this can fixed? Thanks in advance for the help
I've had my iphone 5 16 GIG for 2 months. The day after I got it from the store I noticed a annoying rattle. I know that there had been many discussions about this topic, but I was wondering if apple would replace my phone? It does have some damage from my cell phone case but that's it. I've only dropped it twice, would apple replace it for free?
I dropped my phone in water and pulled it right out it still works but put it in a bag a rice to try and get the water out. Is my efforts wasted and I just need to go out and get a new phone
Will Apple repair or replace a water damaged phone at some type of discounted price?
My phone won't send picture messages to any phone other than an iphone and when I googled it, the solution was to restore it.So I did. Downloading the software itself took nearly 3 hours, but whatever. My phone restarted, but now the bar is stuck at ~3/4 done and it's on "restoring firmware". It's been this way for over 20min. I use iTunes 11.0 and Windows 7.Can anyone help me out? Would it be bad to reboot my computer at this stage?
Has anyone noticed that since the last couple of updates (6.1.3 and 6.1.4) the search feature on the iphone doesn't work. You can search ok but when you press what you're looking for is puts you at the end of the message without going to the area you need. Apple please fix it. Sooo annoying.
My i phone5 got submereged in water...its working now, but the camera is not., My i phone got submereged in water...its working now, but the camera is not.

Sometimes, when i lend my iphone away for a few hours, that person would have complete access to my messages, whatsapp and so on. Is there any way (or app) that can lock specific apps?
My iphone 5 battery drains a lot. After 42 minutes of usage, and 5 hours of standby it drops to 89%. I'm just wondering if thats normal. I was wondering, if theres a way I can completely restore my iphone. Like restore nothing back onto it, only my text messages and imessages cause those are really important.
My son's iPhone5 has water damage. Will apple care replace it even though it wasn't covered at the time of the damage?
i recently dropped my iphone4s,screen didnt smash or marked but wouldn't light up,made all the right sounds.took it to be repaired at local mobile shop and they sent it away to have new lcd and digitizer replaced. I got it marked and noticed home button had dropped then 5/6 days later 3 black marks/spots appeared on the bottom right hand side of screen??? returned to shop and engineer is refusing to repair as saying i damaged phone......I havent done anything apart from use it as it should be.can anyone shed some light as to why this is happening? many thanks
I dropped my phone with an otterbox defender case on the phone on its back, directly following the fall (maybe 3ft) the screen remains black, however, the phone is still on because I get text messages and emails. I believe that the digitizer may have been dislodged from the logic board. Should I investigate the phone myself or take it in, mind you the nearest apple store (grrr) is almost 60 miles away.
I dropped my iphone 5 in water. The touch screen is not working, but its charging and im getting all my texts & notifications. I brought it four months ago without apple care. What can i do to fix it and if there cost what the estimate ?
My iphone is a joke, was getting 8 hours battery life, now im gettin only 3-4 have restored phone, deleted all apps etc nothing works, also when i try to turn off phone it just automatically restarts. (ios 6.1.4 installed)
After months and months of not being able to update my iphone 4 to the new technology due to storage usage, i was finally able to. Now after two hours of waiting, my phone says it was verifying the update. My phone turned off and then turned back on and i got the plug into iTunes icon. After i plugged it in it says that the iphone update server cannot be found.
Hi All, I just upgraded my iphone 5 to IOS 6.1.4. Afterwhich i realize the performance motion of sliding from page to page, app opening and minimizing... seems to have dropped. Did anyone experience the same effect? I wish to revert back to 6.1.3, any guide on how to achieve this without losing any data or app installed? Appreciate any help. Thanks.
How much does it cost to get the face and back replaced in the iphone 4S? I guess our daughter dropped it on the exact stop and it shattered. Can it be fixed?
Lately I've been turning off my phone and when I turn it back on battery is drained. Yesterday I turned it off at 80% and when I turned it back on 3 hours later it was at 62%. Then today I turned it off at 50% and when I turned it back on it was at 32%! Does anyone know why my iphone is losing battery even when it's completely powered off? I feel like it shouldn't be losing any battery at all
I have an iphone 5 and it seems my battery will be drained completely in less that 4 hours, in addition the temperature of this phone is 102 degrees...this seems way to high to me. any help or advice?
There seems to be a lot of people out there dropping their iphone in the bath so I thought I would share my experience of fixing mine.Firstly if its in warranty consult your dealer - if this doesn't help try the following: A lot of people say stick it in bags of rice / silicon, etc but here is a quicker, more reliable way which is far less likely to contaminate one of the connectors. You do not need any special equipment. Make sure phone is off (If you can still see the screen) - hold sleep and Home for 5 seconds and tap the red off button that appearsPop your oven on a low heat ( less than 100C) for 5 minutes.Wrap your phone inside a sock, doubled over a couple of times so the phone is well protected.Turn oven offPop phone into oven for 30 minutes or longer preferably You could use a hairdryer but be very careful to keep it moving to avoid any localised heat spots that could damage components. If the phone got really soaked you might want to jump down to taking the phone apart - if it is still full of water powering up or charging could result in further damage Let the phone cool and try to power up, if nothing happens check for any signs of water vapour still in the phone and repeat if present. Otherwise try charging and powering up Still no success? this step requires a very small crosshead (some need a 5star) screwdriver, don't compromise and try and use a larger one, damaged screws will cause you even more expense. Very cheap on ebay. Unscrew the 2 small screws at the bottom next to the speaker, slide the back up and lift away. Unscrew the very small screw holding the battery connector in place and pry up the connector (lift the side nearest the edge first). Be careful not to lose the screw or the small metal bracket under the connector. Use the plastic tab sticking up half way along the battery to ease the battery out (usual there is a small amount of glue on them). This will reset the phone (you will not lose anything but the phone will hopeful power up when the battery is replaced). This is a good time to try the drying procedure again to ensure there is no more moisture present. Reconnect the battery screw everything back in place and press the wake button. If this has not succeeded you may need specialist help to test more components.Good luck ( and I cannot stress enough - keep the temperature low when drying)
I was promted to update a couple of apps. What can i do to get my programmes to install? They are stuck in "installing". There is plenty of space to download. Tried finding the apps to uninstall, both on my 4s and in iTunes. Cant find them.
"Erase All Content and Settings" is taking more than 3 hours for my 3GS which had about 6Giga Bite of data. Is it normal?
I dropped my phone on the ground and the screen broke but now the screen is black all the time but i still get the buzzes from alerts or notifications, texts, and even phone calls. what do I do?
I recently purchased an iphone 5 (Monday, May 6th) and am convinced that the battery is defective. I attempted to get the phone replaced by AT&T since it is within their 14-day Return/Exchange policy, but of course they denied me based on it being a "technical" issue and therefore a problem I need to take up with Apple. Whatever that means. Background info: Left the house around 10:00 AM, battery fully charged at 100%Finished class at 12:00 PM, battery dropped to 53% (VERY minimal use, I was sitting through a lecture)Arrived at AT&T store at 12:15 PM, battery at 51%AT&T Rep turns off LTE, Wireless, Location Services, Bluetooth and Auto BrightnessThe only apps that were opened/used were Text, Mail (fetch set to Manual) and SafariAT&T Rep says there's nothing he can do, but these changes should "help"Left AT&T 12:25 PM, hopped on bus, got home at 12:45 PM, battery drops to 43% (ZERO use)Call nearby Apple store at 12:50 PM to set up an appointment (Call length: 11 minutes), battery drops to 41%Call Customer Support at 1:30 PM to run remote battery diagnostic (Call length: 16 minutes), battery drops to 32%Apple Rep says the diagnostics looks normal...... Battery life: 30%Usage: 2 hours 26 minsStand by: 6 hours and 3 minutes This can't be right. Is anyone experiencing similar issues with their battery? Does the usage information above look normal? Any suggestions and/or tips on what I can do? I'm so upset with both Apple & AT&T right now. The AT&T rep even suggested that I "turn off cellular data" to save the battery life. REALLY? I feel like I basically just purchased an iPod touch for $240!
So, I was in my bathroom just about to get in the shower while listening to music, being the clumsy person I am, I ended up dropping my iphone in the toilet. I quickly gathered the iphone, and placed it in rice. I waited 3 days, and if I plug it into my laptop, it turns on for about 10 seconds (only logo appears) then it shuts off. I was wondering if I visited the Apple Store, would they replace this? I have an iphone 4. Btw, I don't have a warranty.
I had to redownload my phone through iCloud because of a malfunction in the system, so I could not back up the phone. I had almost 800 pictures on my photostream before, some duplicates, but for some reason less than 100 photos re-downloaded to my new iphone. It stopped downloading the pictures, and has not turned up any new pictures for about nine hours. Is there any way to get back those pictures? Thanks for any help!
My + volume button is stuck and it decreases the volume if I press it hard enough.I have no idea how this happened, i never dropped my phone and everything else works fine also my phone looks new with no scratches. Will the limited 1 year warranty cover this? If so do I need to take anything else except my phone to the apple store?
I want to restore my phone to see if that would help? but i have a passcode and cant see anything to type it in, anyway i can restore without entering the passcode?
I recently did a jailbreak on my phone and decided I didn't like it. I restored the phone to Apple factory settings and everything is fine except the battery. It will not hold a charge more than a few hours -- and that's on STANDBY, not actually using the phone or making calls! Is there anything else I need to do to erase all traces of the jailbreak? Or is there anything I can do to improve my battery life? I've already done the following: 1) lowered the screen brightness2) close programs when not in use3) changed auto-lock time to 1 minute (the shortest possible)
My iphone stoped working and when i plug it in the apple logo comes up then goes away, i brought it to a repair shop where they thaught it was water damgaed but they treated it for that and it turned out that that is not the problem and that they didnt know what to do with it.. what should i do with it now?
Since I updated my iphone software to 6.1 the battery is discharged really fast, it lasts about 3 hours!!!I've heard the same complaint from several users, so I assume this is not my battery failing... Is there an issue with the new software that is affecting my battery???
Hi, I've recently noticed that my iphone 4s battery is draining very quickly. Normally, I would charge my phone overnight and it would last the whole day. Recently i've noticed that my battery drains extremely quickly, just now its gone from 55% one minute to 35% the next! Earlier today, in 3 hours my battery went from 100% to 15%. Does anybody know how to fix this? Ive seen some articles saying that people notice that their iphone batteries drain fast after the 6.1.3 update, but I downloaded this a while before my battery has been playing up. I would appreciate any help/tips! Thanks

My iphone 5 is barely 2-3 months old, a couple of days ago it stopped charging yet it was plugged in, it never died either. Today I had it plugged in for a few hours and suddenly I unplugged it and it died. It wont turn back on now. Help please!
The iPhone5 is less than 6 months old. After I downloaded some photos to my computer through the USB, I then needed to recharge my iPhone5. So, I removed the cord from the USB port plugged it into the adapter and then plugged into a wall receptacle. After more than 8 hours it has not charged. The symbol shows it is charged but the battery icon shows only 29% and it continues to decline when used. Any ideas on what to do other than taking it to the store. Thank you for any assistance
I recently had my 4S replaced after my previous one had water damage. It was working fine at first but suddenly, whenever I take photos with my phone, they're not saving to my camera roll. I don't think it's a question memory space as I only have 1 photo on my camera roll.
Without my knowing it, I recently had my iphone 4 fall out of my jacket. When I came back and found it, it had been out in the rain for 3 hours. Now, the microphone does not work when making or receiving calls. The speakerphone microphone at the top works fine, but not the one at the bottom. I have tried rebooting, too, and nothing seems to work. Do I need to take it to the Apple store to diagnose and fix?
