Lately I've been having probelms with my iPhone 4s. I bought it in July of last year. The problems include: my lock button is jambed, the phone thinks that I have headphones in when I don't, and applications such as Camera and Safari constantly crash. The screen also does not always respond when I touch it and it does not ring or vibrate when I recieve calls sometimes (I did check to see if my ringer was on, along with vibrating in Sounds under Settings). I have Apple Care+. Can I trade it in for a refurbished phone? Also, for an extra fee would I be able to trade it in for a refurbished iPhone 5?
I got a small amount of water in my iphone, at first i thought it was ok but after about half hour the water had spread through my screen, and it started going blotchy and cloudy. The touch screen still works, speakers, charger, camera etc. Only thing is phone wont turn off? I tried the rice for a few hours but didnt do much. Does the apple warrenty cover water damage if not how do i get this repaired?
just restored my iphone to be like my ipod and I lost all my photos and videos..is there any way to get them back?
I have an iPhone 5 still within the 1 year warranty. It has a small crack on the top right of the phone, which doesn't have any effect on the screen or touch capabilities. However, the phone also has a faulty camera and lock button. What I am wondering is, does the fact that the screen is cracked affect the ability to get a warranty replacement for the other two problems? Thanks!
I'm planning on buying the iphone 5 because I have an upgrade available. I have never owned an iphone before, but I do have an 2gn ipod which has 8 gbs and has 2 apps and have used 5.5 of my 6.84 gbs available with songs(1175 songs). I have also have 30 photos, and have 1.5 gbs left to fill. If I do get the iphone 5 I will not put music on it, because I have my ipod. I would like to have a lot of apps though, because I like to test them out, and give reviews on them. I have a fair amount of photos in my current phone(around 400), but the camera quality is not that good, and I think because the iphone 5 have a lot more gbs than my current one that I will want to take more than I usually do(although I would probably upload them onto my computer and delete the originals off my phone). I don't have that many contacts and I have a tablet where I play my games and movies on, so that is not an issue. I know this is a bit long but I really want to make the right choice because I plan on having this phone until my next upgrade which is in 2 years. I want to know if 16gbs should be enough or if should I go with the 32gbs? OR if I should just wait for the newer version to come out, and if this is worth to buy. I would also would like to know what the perks and downsides are too. Thank you for your patience and time.
i think my touch screem is freeze, i dont know
The USB cable got wet in the washing machine and it was dried by the sun outside. But it can charge the iPhone 5. Is it OK?

My iPhone 4's from Japan and it's still locked. The only way that I can use it is through Gevey Sim. It's still in version/iOS 4.3. Any ways to update/unlock my phone to iOS 6? Home button's not working now so I need to have the assistive touch already.
What should I do if the touch screen on my Iphone 4 wont work?

when i bought my iphone5 the volume was the same as that of my ipod. after i ve updated it to ios 6.1.4 the volume has degraded. Is this due to the ios update or in the manufacture of the iphone 5 ? kindly help
I dropped my iphone 5 in water. The touch screen is not working, but its charging and im getting all my texts & notifications. I brought it four months ago without apple care. What can i do to fix it and if there cost what the estimate ?
I was reading my Facebook page when the screen just went out all of a sudden. It still seems to respond to touch and Siri works but the screen is dark. What's up with that?
Have G4, downloaded photos and videos to Windows 7 Ultimate PC. Photos and videos showed up in an ipod Photo Cache file with a Photo Database and .ithmb files. I am looking for a "reliable" .ithmb converter to jpg, and likewise for the video format. TY:)
Hi, I am hoping someone can help me as my wife's iPhone completely froze up after synching with the latest version of iTunes. In the end, the only thing she could do was re-set the iPhone, thereby of course losing everything. Reconnecting to her laptop restored music and most apps, it seems she has to re-download the other apps again direct to the phone. Now the problem is images. There is an ipod cache directory on the laptop Pictures directory, and in this are folders labelled F00, F01 etc.. and a "Photo Database" file. In each of the Fnn directories is a series of files, called Txxx.ithmb, each of which is about 1,500KB. Doing a backup from the laptop indicates there are about 2900 files overall.Altogether there is about 3GB in this folder, so it looks to be a lot of space. Pointing iTunes to the directory containing all this and synching, still results in zero images being found. She went to the local Apple store for help, to be told these are not the images, but then elsewhere I have read that these are the full files, and this proprietary format contains three different resolution images. If the images taken on the iPhone are not here, where are they? Finally, how on earth do we convince iTunes to recognize these files and imporrt them again? Sorry to be thick but losing everything thanks to the latest iTunes was rather catastrophic! Any help/ideas/suggestions greatfully received... The photo files were a mix of photos taken on the iPhone and images previously uploaded from the laptop. Cheers Chipontheroad
Is anyone having issues with a lack of sensitivity of iPhone 5 screen. I am having to touch items several times to select or scroll the screen, when it does scroll it "jumps" to catch up making it hard to operate smoothly. I Also notice that the screen appears to have shifted up slightly cutting off top of wi-fi and battery symbols. These symptoms don't always happen and I cant be sure I can show them to a Genius. This my 4th iphone, so my expectations are only what I have experienced with the others.
I recently purchased an iPhone 5 (Monday, May 6th) and am convinced that the battery is defective. I attempted to get the phone replaced by AT&T since it is within their 14-day Return/Exchange policy, but of course they denied me based on it being a "technical" issue and therefore a problem I need to take up with Apple. Whatever that means. Background info: Left the house around 10:00 AM, battery fully charged at 100%Finished class at 12:00 PM, battery dropped to 53% (VERY minimal use, I was sitting through a lecture)Arrived at AT&T store at 12:15 PM, battery at 51%AT&T Rep turns off LTE, Wireless, Location Services, Bluetooth and Auto BrightnessThe only apps that were opened/used were Text, Mail (fetch set to Manual) and SafariAT&T Rep says there's nothing he can do, but these changes should "help"Left AT&T 12:25 PM, hopped on bus, got home at 12:45 PM, battery drops to 43% (ZERO use)Call nearby Apple store at 12:50 PM to set up an appointment (Call length: 11 minutes), battery drops to 41%Call Customer Support at 1:30 PM to run remote battery diagnostic (Call length: 16 minutes), battery drops to 32%Apple Rep says the diagnostics looks normal...... Battery life: 30%Usage: 2 hours 26 minsStand by: 6 hours and 3 minutes This can't be right. Is anyone experiencing similar issues with their battery? Does the usage information above look normal? Any suggestions and/or tips on what I can do? I'm so upset with both Apple & AT&T right now. The AT&T rep even suggested that I "turn off cellular data" to save the battery life. REALLY? I feel like I basically just purchased an ipod touch for $240!
my iphone 5 often losses its network signal. i am islanded from the network often. this affects my connectivity with my business & friends. with this problem my iPhone 5 is working like only an ipod. certainly iPhone 5 is not meeting the purpose of a mobile phone. can anyone suggest me some solution for this issue..? Regards,Arunkumar
Problem started about 3-4 months ago. Screen will be dim at first, but pressing the power button to turn off the screen and then pressing the power button again will restore the screen to full brightness. Brightness is set to max and Auto-Brightness is off. Phone is not overheating and has never been wet.
I have been having an issue with my backlight turning off completely when I receive a text message on my iPhone 5. It is very random. It doesn't happen every day, just once in a while. My screen will be completely off, then it will fully light up when I receive a text message, then 1-2 seconds later the backlight will go off completely but the screen will remain on. Even if I hit the home button, the backlight won't come on. I have to hit the power button to turn the screen off, then hit the power button again to turn the screen back on, then the backlight comes back on. I don't have auto brightness or anything like that turned on. Any ideas what might be causing this or how to fix it?
Hi all, I have a few Audiobooks which I listen to on my IPhone 3GS a lot and I put a couple more and last night I downloaded them and now they have an echo which it didnt before. From what i have read I need to change the playback speed but from all the feedback I have seen online there is no icon on my phone at the bottom right corner I can touch to change it. I have just about tried everything with no luck. PLEASE is there anyone that can help me. I have already lost these books once and have spent a lot of money getting them back. I will very angry if I cant listen to this now. Many thanks and I would appreciate any assitance.
When iPhone 5 is plugged in/ charging, touch screen isn't accurate, doesn't respond properly, doesnt let me type sometimes.
Hi everyone... I want to ask question, I just realise that I Can't do anything (swipe, text, ect) when my iphone placed on the flat surface. To be able to swipe or text i must literally hold the iphone with my hand. When the iphone was placed on the flat surface (table for example), The screen do not respond at all when I just do the swipe and text with my finger (I don't touch the iphone with my hand). But when I picked up the phone and hold it with my hand, the screen began to respond to my finger,, Anyone facing the same problem ?Do we have to hold the iphone with our hand in order to be able to swipe or text ? If anyone have the answer to this problem, please let me know, because it was so frustating now that I can't do anything when my phone was placed on the table.
I am tired of my iPhone 4S already after suffering through issues upon issues with the device. My screen is having issues now where at a moment's chance it goes dim. I have to reset the device to get the brightness back to normal. I've tried restoring without any luck of this resolving. Another gripe I have is that I'm continuing to have issues with apps like Mail, Safari, and other Apple installed apps just continuously force closing. I've been sending emails back and forth on my iPhone only to have Mail force close and I lose everything in my message. The phone acts sluggish and performs worse than previous 4S devices I've owned. I've had issues upon issues across multiple iPhone 4S devices. The device I have currently is my 5th iPhone 4S and even tho its less than a few months old after it was sent to me after multiple filler iPhones of refurb models from the store, I continue to experience issues that make me use my iPhone less and less as it becomes more unreliable with the crashes and multiple restores. My closest store is not within close distance so that's made owning an iPhone with issues difficult as not every thread on the communities forum touch on half the problems I continue to have. Thankfully at least Siri knows where I'm located compared to my other devices where she always thought I was in Pittsburgh where I picked the phone up at my nearest store over an hour and a half away. Now everything just seems to be more of a deficiency with iOS and the hardware than anything. Obviously there must be something wrong with the latest stocks of 4S devices if my issues are continuing. When I restore I'm always setting up as a new device. I'm never downloading or redownloading anything from my Mac or PC. Everything is just redownloading apps from iCloud within the App Store and having a ton of missing photos in my photo stream. I just don't understand what is wrong with my iPhone. I never experienced these kind of issues with my iPhone 3GS so its hard to swallow how terrible the 4S has performed with every single device I keep getting. I'm at a loss on what I can do. Does anyone have any tips I should try that Apple hasn't provided me with to fix or at least band-aid the issue long enough till I can upgrade with my carrier?
i hv apple 4s and itz still under warrenty but last it fallen on d floor and screen got crack but touch is still workin. help??hw much screen gona cost and what about ma warrenty??
Less than two months ago, I purchased an iPhone 4S 16G, as well as a LifeProof case, which the dealer told me was superior to an Otterbox. It is touted to be waterproof, dirtproof, snow/iceproof, and shockproof. Up until today, I have been quite pleased with my case, though the screen protector does make it a bit harder to to tap the screen. Today, I had my phone in my pocket. When I bent over, it fell out and hit the ground from a height of two feet. It was completely in its case, and I had performed all the checks recommended before using the case. It fell on to carpet. When I picked it up, the case was undamaged, but the entire front of my phone was shattered. It look as though it had been hit by a bullet. The screen still worked, but it was covered with tiny shards of glass. The damage seemed focused around the ear speaker at the top of the phone. I have in the past dropped an ipod touch, sans case, face down onto tile, and the damage was about 4x less than the current damage on my phone. I immediately called Apple, who told me that the warranty did not apply to my situation (though this was not a surprise). I would have to replace my phone, refurbished for $150 or new for $200. I then called LifeProof, at which point I discovered that their warranty only covers the case. They will not refund your phone, though they offered to give me a new case. The person I spoke to told me that he used a LifeProof case, and that his screen had cracked several times while using it. He recommended going to an independent phone dealership who would repair my screen. In short, this overpriced case does almost nothing. To be fair, I have had no problems with the waterproof aspect of the case. However, it will not protect your phone from even the most minor drop that would normally not damage the phone at all. I have seen several accounts of LifeProof owners who put their phone in their pocket and pull it out cracked. This case is not worth $1, let alone $80. For emphasis, I have included some photos of what my phone looks like after the fall. Remember, this was only two feet and onto carpet while in the supposedly shock-proof case.
I recently bought nike+ sensor and have just been for a run in it. However it won't let me upload my workout data via wifi. It comes up with a message saying: Nike+ipod cannot sync workouts because nike+ service is unavailable. I have tried and tried and again and it doesn't work. I have googled it and there is not any answer to it so far. any help would be appreciated.thanks
So once I got my iphone I didn't touch it till I got a case...Anyways, I had problems with my lock button as soon as I clicked it..It wasn't easy or smooth to press down it was always hard now I have to use my teeth to press it down to turn it on...Can I get it for free??I have insurance...Should I bring that up?Or should I try to get it for free since it wasnt my issue..Plus my cable is broken and my home button is slow to respond..I didn't do anything.I was just using it.That's all!
the keypad on my iphone has gone crazy i have already reset it ND ITS STILL NOT WORKING?
I got an iPhone 5 on Friday and the battery *****. I've read every single forum, done everything, reset all settings, drained battery to 0 and then back up, even restarted to factory settings, turned off push, limited notifications, every thing every forum has told me to do. I even went to apple and they were no help at all, telling me my battery was normal. I don't think sleeping with 100% and waking up with 75% is normal, or getting 2 hours if limited use from my phone throughout the day. I have no idea what to do and I'm getting so tired of this. I did not pay 1000$ and wait 5 months for this. I really expected so much more. Someone help me, and give me a right answer, to help me fix this. Seriously getting so ******. Not even lasting longer than my ipod touch. <Edited By Host>
I had a screen sensitivity issue with my original 4s. It would react to my finger getting within about 1/4 inch of the screen, and would auto dial without anyone touching the screen. Fortunately, It happened to actually do this in front of one of the 'geniuses' on my third trip to the apple store so they replaced the phone about 5 months ago. I was given a 90 day warranty on the new phone. It worked fine until last week.It started cycling on and off. Then it wiped the phone and all of my apps. I restored the phone but there would be a noticeable hesitation between when I touched the screen and when the touch registered. This went on for two days.During those two days the power indicator did not ever show any indication there had been any battery drain, but always showed 100% charged, days, then went dead without ever showing it was discharging. I took it to the Apple store. They tried to do the same restore I had. The phone came back on, but then cuts on and off to the Apple logo. The battery will take a charge, but as it sits on the charger it cuts on and off. The store solution was for me to purchase a new phone since they either had no idea what the problem was, or wouldn't tell me. The phone has not had rough treatment or been exposed to water or excessive moisture. Any suggestions?
I'm new to touch screens and just got an iphone 4, i turned voice control on and may have set another item wrong because i can't scrool in any area. try to set voice control off but cant scrool in settings? Very confused and stressed.
Is there a way to bypass Siri when using a bluetooth headset to make a call? I press the call button on my headset (Plantronics M50), but I still must touch the Siri mike icon on the iPhone 4S to verbally make the call.
Hello community. I do get the fact that there is million of threads, but I want to know the opinion of others on this particular case. I dropped my phone into the toilet (luckily, it was clear) and immediately got it out. As I had no experience with these kind of accidents, I actually didn't turn off the phone. I used a towel and then I wobbled my phone to get rid of the water. Then, as the phone started rebooting itself, I dried it with a hairdryer (yes, I'm an idiot) and used a vacuum cleaner to help the proccess. It kept saying this error [NAND] FileFlashAndMedia or something like that, so I turned it off for good and tried to restore it - I started getting the -1 error. After several repetitions, iTunes finally started restoring my iPhone 5 and everything was back to normal. But then I came to the dreadful realization that the screen does not respond. Everything is ok - all the buttons, the display, even the sound seeems to be fine. So after these 15 minutes of panicking I started to read articles and watch videos of other people. Put the phone in a bowl of rice, sealed it and I turn it on from times to times to find out if the screen started responding. Any suggestions? Do you think there is a possibility to recover it?
Hello! Yesterday my lock button stopped working. I still have my warranty but the problem is I live in Belgium and there is no Apple Store there. Is there any way I can get my phone repaired without having to go abroad? I'm now using Assistive touch but it just doesn't feel the way it should... Greetings & thanks!
I was in the bathroom and my phone fell into a bucket that had a bit of water in it. I immediately took it out and my sister blew in a few areas and I dried some holes with tissue and tested to see if anything wasn't working (sound basically. everything was working fine, though the sound was a bit low) and then I turned it off. After maybe 2 minutes we put it in a bag of rice. Throughout this whole event the LED light in the back has been on and it still is. It's been an hour since it happened. Why isn't the light turning off and do you think my phone will be fine in a couple of days? The thing is I literally just went to the Apple store today to replace the iPhone I had that didn't let me turn my phone off and on (the power button was basically stuck).
On my iPhone, my mail app doesn't work. I get the "ring" that I have a new email and it shows how many, but when I click my app to look at the emails its blank and then just shuts down and takes me back to my home screen. I've turned it off and left it off for a minute then turned it back on and its still doing it. My iPad and ipod are fine, its just my phone doing it. Can anyone help me?
My touch screen works, but not the right side. why is this
My touch screen has white lines on the right side and the screen doesn't respond on that side. I have an appt with the Genius bar tomorrow, but since I can't unlock my phone, I also can't back it up! Is there any other way to unlock the phone? Or back it up without unlocking it? Thanks.
to cut a long story short. I was interested in an i-phone... got the details..checked them all.. on the phone and with the provider, VODAPHONE... told unlocked, not stolen etc etc. proceeded to buy the phone...new sim topped up £10 only to find it wouldn't work... Went into vodaphone store..been running around following thier advice..(they said I need a friend who is a customer on vodaphone to get passed the unlocking with a vodaphone code.. and they would do it for free given the circumstances...so i run errands go back and forth doing as they asked...got nowhere) SO IT IS NOW A MONTH LATER..and after complaining and complaining to thier email site and repeatedly asking for help in store..I am stumped as what to do and just have a glorified ipod. I WILL NOT BE FORCED TO REMAIN ON THE VODAPHONE NETWORK given the situation they have put me in and thier unwillingness to help so i refuse to use the phone with vodaphone... BUT WHAT can i do PLEASEEEEEEE? all they keep on suggesting is that I get the original owners details but he is not answering anything...and the phone is not registered as stolen etc so what is the problem!? As you can imagine I am really peeved by the whole thing as I actually carried out all the necessary checks, and whilst the phone was not bought directly from vodaphone, I went to them as the provider, to find otu about unlocking etc as it is always advised to do so..and it was them that gave me the wrong information but they still will not resolve the issue. I have even sent them phone records to confirm when I rung and the name of the invalid who told me the phone was unlocked in the first place. I really would much appreciate any help as they are ignoring my emails now.
It appear some longitudinal lines on my screenCan I fix it or the touch is broken?
I opened Instagram on my iPhone 4G this morning and nothing loaded, it's stuck on a blank white screen. I can see the black bar at the top that tells me I'm connected to the internet and the battery, but the rest of the screen is plain white. I have the assistive touch on because the lock button is jammed, and I can still go into its little menu, but when I press the home button (either on the menu or on my actual phone) nothing happens. I've been trying to turn it off but, again, the lock/power button is jammed, and it hasn't been working. I read that you can hold down "lock screen" in the assistive touch menu, but when I do that nothing happens either. I plugged it into the wall and into iTunes on my computer, still nothing. When I leave it idle, it's doesn't turn off. The screen gets dark, but it's still on, I guess it's just the back-light that turns off? My only idea is to wait for the battery to die and then charge it and hope it goes back to normal.
I have some longitudinal lines on the screen and the touch is not working properly now

So I've had my iPhone 5 for a few months now and today I noticed that there is a small crack on the home button within the little white square. Also perhaps as a result of this the button feels somewhat loose and makes a clicking noise when I touch the button without actually pressing it. I have previously dropped my phone but that was a while back and it was fine then. It still functions properly but after comparing it with my brothers iPhone 5 there's is definitely a noticeable difference with the home button as mine has sunk in a bit and doesn't sit flush with the housing. It's obviously still within warranty and I don't want to pay for a replacement so will Apple repair the home button if I take it to them?
I have a Verizon iPhone 4. No contract in a few months. No SIM card. Will I be able to use my phone as an ipod touch when my contract expires? Will I be able to (all with wifi): send iMessages? browse the web? update apps?
I am having difficulty getting my iphone to come back to life after being through the washing machine! It has dried out and is in "recovery mode" but when I try and get it restored via itunes it comes up with an error - "an unknown error occurred, error 21". Does anyone know what thjis means and how I get round it?Thanks, Neil
When typing or working in certain apps, the touch screen and keyboard are not calibrated correctly. When typing either the letter to the left or to the bottom is selected rathert than the letter I'm selecting.
