Lost purchases when restoring phone iPhone 3G

Hi im a first time poster and need help, now im not that good with itunes on the computer but i plugged my phone in the other day for the new download and something went wrong and it needed to restore the phone~~heres where my problems start!!!Firstly my husband and i have different login accounts on itunes but payment always comes from mine however its only his apps that show on the screen, no matter who is logged in???? so on the back up all my apps were lost and his were put back on the phone! (any solutions!)My most major concern though is that i bought some songs in itunes and a ringtone but before they were transfered to the computer it started this backup so i have none of the purchases on my phone or computer BUT when i go to repurchase them (not that i want to pay again) it says you have already purchased this item do you want to buy again?~~~ if it knows i bought it where is it?????I did continue to buy, following some advice on another thread about being told no charge but it went through and as far as im aware it has charged me again!!Please help(also there are in total 2 iphones and 3 ipods linked to my account!) Help me! Somebody please <grin>!I had to get a replacement phone from the Apple Store due to my battery life dwindling. Anyway, the Genius told me to plug the refurb unit into my Macbook and wait for the prompt restore from backup or something along those lines. Well, I plug my phone in, and I never get a prompt saying restore from backup. So, I plod along and after the phone is done synching, I unplug & notice none of my paid apps are on the refurb phone. My itunes account shows all my receipts, but none are transferred to the phone. Same with my photos, they would not transfer to the refurb phone. On the refurb phone I tried a trick: went to the App Store & tried to download an app I already add thinking I would get the message you have alreday downloaded this app, would you like to download it again? UITableView asynchronous image download jitters scrolling performance iPhone

Hi,Akin to RSS reader, I tried to use the AsyncImageView to download the images and cache the images once I receive them. But this is hindering the UITableView scrolling performance. I went through one more example of using NSOperationQueue, http://www.cimgf.com/2008/02/16/cocoa-tutorial-nsoperation-and-nsoperationqueue/, still no use, but yes little bit better than the previous one. Ive just recently had a problem with my iphone which has really angered me and i do not know what i have done wrong, so if someone could help me that would be great.About 15 mins ago i went to sync my iphone with itunes on my computer, after trying to sync my apps i realised all of them had dissapered but about 3, and i cannot find them anywhere. This is a real problem because i know ii can re-download them again if i have too. Well so i though, because all of the apps i have bought want me to buy them again when i go back onto the store even though i am logged onto my account, it doesntseem to acknowledge that i have bought the app.Does anyone know how i can fix this, or atleast what i have done wrong?Thank you in advance.

Apple ID not really working. iPhone 3G

Heya, I have a problem with my Apple ID. When Im going to download free games from Appstore, they ask me to fill in all the information on Billing Information, in which they send me to that page, and I fill in all thats needed. When I finally click on Submit, a red text appears telling me to type my Apple ID and password, go to Billing Information, and fill in. Theyre basically telling me to do exactly what Im doing. So Im not getting any further. Does someone else have this problem aswell, or am I the first one? And can someone please tell me how to make it right? Windows XP Windows XP

HiI dropped my i-phone and the glass screen has cracked very badly, Luckily I am insured with o2,they are sending me another one. However, I have been trying all day to get my Apps. off the phone into my computer so that I can download them onto my new phone.I spent an hour on the phone to i-phone technical services, but nothing is happening, I have asked i-tunes to authorise my computer to take my Apps. but it keeps coming up that it wont download because I have not authorised it, but when I try it again, it says that the computer is already authorised. What do I do? iphone frozen in recovery mode help 3G

okay, so i did something to itunes to where it updated or something and then my iphone got un-jailbroken or something..so i tried looking online how to jailbreak it again.i started to do the redsnow steps, but i got an error 1015 message..and then after that, i got into recovery mode.. ive found steps to get out of recovery mode consisting of holding down home/sleep button off and on tons of times..but to no avail..its still in recovery mode.how the heck do i get out of this mode!??!? is there some sort of program, or app i need to download to get me out? i dont want to restore my iphone and lose everything i had!!!!

itunes for Windows 7 64 bit not recognise iPhone 3G

I have just installed windows 7 x64bit on my pc. I have downloaded the itunes for windows 7 x64 and it seems to have installed correctly. I have reset my iphone (as my old one packed up with the home button, so Apple replaced it as it was still within the warrenty)and now when I connect the newly formated iphone to itunes, I get the following error,this phone cannot be used as the required software is not installed. Run the itunes installer to remove itunes, then install the 64 bit version of itunes???? i am assuming that the itunes download iTunes64Setup.exe is the correct installer package for the 64bit version of windows7?does anyone have any ideas of this, I am really missing my iphone. iPhone 3G Windows 7

Computer Crash when Backing Up iPhone 3G

Hello,I am continually having a problem with my computer crashing when I am trying to back-up my iPhone 3G in iTunes. My Iphone wont turn on

I just left it on the bed but I have a sort of heating blanket underneath the bedsheet and that was turned on. I left it lying there for a while then I wanted to download music on Itunes so I plugged my Iphone in my laptop but it wont show on Itunes, then I took it off and pressed the open button at the top but there was nothing coming up and I did this lots of times and pressing all sorts of buttons aswell but theres not many buttons as it is a touchscreen. iTunes store on iPhone deleted my entire music library from my iPhone 3G

I was out of town with just my iPhone, not my PC. I usually download podcasts to the PC and sync them to my iPhone. But this time since I didnt have my PC, I clicked on the iTunes app on my iPhone and downloaded 7 news podcasts over the cellular network. The podcasts downloaded to the iPod application of my iPhone just fine. But they replaced the whole iPod library on my iPhone. Before that, I had 20 other podcasts, 3,000 songs, etc. All were deleted when I downloaded the new podcasts from iTunes onto the iPhone! I have since returned home and re-synched my iPhone with my PC and I have restored the whole library. But does anyone know why that would have happened? Updated to 3.1.3 bought album from itunes lost all other music iPhone 3G

I bought an ablum from itunes on my phone today. (I buy music and rent movies on my phone all the time without any problem) However, this time when I bought a new album, I went to iPod to listen to something else while it downloaded and the iPod was hanging (or appeared to be hanging). I reset the ipone after the album finished downloading. At this point the only album in iTunes was the ablum I had just bought. So I think that when I thought it was hanging before it was actually just showing me a blank screen because there were no songs or video available anymore. I checked under settings -> general -> about to see what information was available. Apparently there are only 14 songs (from the album) but the remaining capacity is about 2.3GB which is what is was when the rest of my music was still on it. Has anyone else had a similar problem? I will sync my phone tonight to get my music back but I would still like to be able to download songs/videos directly to my phone. Macbook iPhone OS 3.1.3

Cannot update apps because of address change iPhone 3G

I dropped my mobileme account and havent had a problem until I tried to download some updates on apps. On my phone I get the message that my account has changed. Duh. Then I get the message: Tap continue and sign in to view billing info. I do this and approve the billing info (which comes on the new email address) and then try to install the download. But again and again I get the same message Tap continue and sign in... I am at a loss as to how to get my phone to adapt to my computer address change. Do I need to eliminate the apps and start over or what?

S Card Error iPhone

Hi, I brought a 3GS last year from a Vodafone store outright, since I was on the 3 network at the time I got it unlocked and away I went, I went back to Vodafone this year but now it will not work with the Vodafone sim card. The message I get from iTunes is below:The sim card inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be supported.Only compatible sim cards from a supported carrier may be used to activate iPhone. Please insert the sim card that came with your iPhone or visit a supported carriers store to receive a replacement sim card.When I got it unlocked from Vodafone the first time I connected to iTunes and it said you have carrier updates to download so that is what unlocked it, I assumed 3 had locked it with the update but I rang and they said under no circumstances it gets locked again, I went back to the Vodafone store and they tried another sim card and the same deal, I went home and did a restore and still have the same issue. 3 said if the restore doesnt work contact Vodafone, Vodafone says contact 3.By the way my farther has the same issue with his iPhone 3GS. Ive just discovered that I cant transfer files using Bluetooth on my new high-tech iPhone. How do Apple get away with this?!? Such a basic tool that is on offer with every other handset on the market! So now Im going to have to use my work Blackberry again..! I can see a common theme developing here..... App deleted but still in settings iPhone 3G

Hey I dont know if anyone can help. My facebook app has been playing up the last few days, so I followed the advice of apple and deleted the app, with the intention of reinstalling it to see if that would fix the problem.However the facebook settings lable is still in my settings list, despite there being nothing there when i click it. This means that my app store thinks that facebook is still installed onto my phone and so it wont let me re download it.I have tried resyncing facebook, readding it via my Itunes, and completly resyncing my applications but nothing has worked. So I upgraded my phone os, with the usual backup. Something went wrong on the restore and I had to restore from backup. On restore a lot of my apps or missing. Occasionally, my iPhone will report that there are 2147483646 unread messages on my Mindspring/Earthlink POP account and that I can download the next 25 messages, even though there are no messages to retrieve. Very curious. Is anyone else seeing this?Incidentally, 2147483646 is hexadecimal 7ffffffe, which makes me think that there is simply some bug (either in iPhone or in Mindspring/Earthlinks pop server) in handling a negative number as an unsigned integer. iPhone 8GB Windows Vista

Still having trouble since attempting 3.1.3 Update iPhone 3G

Further to my reply to cannot update iphone 3g with new os (which I have included below) I have found another post which showed me the difference between Recovery mode and DFU. Ive tried this but have no idea if I have been following the instructions correctly. I have no idea if the iPhone is on or off and the only time its icon disappears from iTunes is when I press both wake/sleep & Home together, but that doesnt really follow the instructions correctly.I just want the latest version, working. Is there a way to try and download the latest version and try again? I cant seem to find that option in iTunes. As Im not sure if Im following the instructions for DFU and what to do afterwards, Im at a lost there as well.Help?Ive having the same problem here and await any help.I am running windows Vista, have the latest iTunes (9.0.3.15), and have just tried to upgrade. I did Sync before trying to upgrade so luckily I havent lost too much, what ever happens in the end.After my original attempt, I was told that there was an error 6 and that I needed to restore (I think, that was several hours ago and I have had further messages after) I pressed restore and a vicious cycle began. To explain, Ive re-started the computer and iTunes. I have plugged in the iPhone after the re-start and received a message from iTunes saying that it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode and that it needs to be restored. I press Ok and the only option presented by iTunes is Restore. I have clicked Ok and Restore several times now with the same result. ITunes talks to the iPhone, installs Software and Firmware, checks and confirms the installation, says it was successful and that the iPhone is shutting down and restarting and not to disconnect from the computer. This is where the iPhone shuts down for a little time and iTunes tells me it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode and that it will need to be restored, again. From here, the cycle starts again.In addition to this, I have tried manually restarting and resetting the iPhone by pressing the Sleep/wake button with no luck and I have attempted to reset by pressing the sleep/wake button and the Home button as per the instructions found here in the support area.Can anyone here help with any suggestions, or where else I can ask for help? iPhone

Personalized Ring Tones Not Working iPhone

I have several ringtones assigned to differing individuals. Recently two things have happened: 1) the picture associated with the person appears, but not on the whole screen like it used to; just in a small square at the top. and 2) the persons specific ringtone no longer rings...just the tone I have assigned to generic calls. The ring tones are honestly obtained and paid for. They are attached to the particular contacts and they work when attaching. But they arent working when the individual calls. Ideas? Setting up replacement phone-what order to things iPhone 3G

Hello!Ive just received my replacement iPhone and Im just wondering in what order to start setting things up and having my last backup transferred onto my new iPhone to get all my data and everything onto the phone.All Ive done so far is take the phone out of the packaging. Havent turned it on yet.I was going to first insert my SIM card, then turn it on and connect it to iTunes to start the process (which info from another thread should be iTunes prompts me to register the iPhone and then asks if I want to transfer from a backup) and then let it sync and do its thing!Is that pretty much correct or would you do it a different way? I also know that theres a new iPhone software that has been released while I didnt have my iPhone, Ive updated to the newest iTunes version but will the new iPhone software download automatically or when does downloading that come into the order of things?Cheers!

iTunes doesnt start automatically anymore after failed iPhone update 3G

So, the other day, I tried to download the newest update for my iPhone, and it failed for some odd reason, which left my iTunes all messed up, and my iPhone stuck at a screen. I reinstalled iTunes, fixing the screwed up iTunes, but my iPhone was stuck on the connect to iTunes screen. As a result, I did the emergency restore on a different computer, and now my iPhone works okay. But Ive noticed now, that when I plug my iPhone in, iTunes doesnt start automatically anymore, I have to manually click on iTunes (not that this is a big deal or anything, but it would be nice to get this fixed). So, is there any setting or solution I can use to try to fix this? PC Windows XP

iphone dies 3G

I have been having a recurring problem since Thanksgiving. For no reason, my iphone will die. The battery is not dead, but it will not turn on. The only way I can get it to turn on is holding the Home button and the on/off button at the same time (I think its called a hard reset). Anyway, each time I do that it takes longer and longer to get the Apple back. I took it to the Apple store on Friday. They told me I just needed to download the latest update. The employee told me he had the same issue with his phone and this fixed it. So he downloaded the update for me and I went on my way. Then Saturday morning the same thing happened again, it completely died and I had to reset it. And again this morning. Is anyone else having these issues? Is there any way to resolve it? A couple of days ago upgraded my 3G16GB iPhone from 3.1.2 to 3.1.3 soft. Ver.Since then can’t download photographs from iPhone to my PCs using Windows Scanner & Camera and/or Windows Explorer utilities. In both cases the Win XP doesn’t recognise the device, but once it does get the following announcement “ The imaging device is busy, or may be in use by another application. You may cancel, or continue to wait for the device to become available.” After some ten minutes get the message “ The device could not be reached” or “The Properties for this item are not available”Have tried, at least ten times to perform the restore operation both as a new device as well as using my last backup – NADA ! iPhone frozen on screen 3G

So, I tried to update my iPhone tonight, and when it came to installing it, some error occurred and my iPhone couldnt download it. As a result, my iPhone got stuck on a screen showing a USB cable with an arrow leading to the iTunes icon. Then, my iTunes went screwy and told me that an audio problem occurred and it wouldnt play any music. So, I reinstalled iTunes thinking it would fix both problems. It fixed the music problem, but the iPhone problem still persists, even though Ive reconnected my iPhone to my PC with iTunes running. The computer recognizes the USB, but iTunes doesnt show any sign of an iPhone connected. And if it helps, Ive reset my iPhone several times now, just to get this screen time after time. Help! App Sync Disaster iPhone 3G

This is a complaint. It is unacceptable that itunes has deleted apps from my phone that I paid for and more specifically (since I know I can download those apps again) it has deleted my Data. Stories of iTunes deleting all the songs from peoples ipods, itouch, iphones have been around for as long as those devices have been, it was annoying for those involved, but unless you were trying to copy all the songs from your friend (obviously not allowed) you could get the songs back. Apple got away with this because they could claim it was copyrighted music.Let me explain what I have done and why I am annoyed. I installed windows again on my machine. I read a little and learnt I should deauthroise my previous itunes account to prevent it from using up my 5 accounts. Nothing about apps. I have synced a few times but must have had sync apps unchecked. This evening I checked it and it said something like Do you want to copy all the apps from this computer to your iphone i thought no this picture doesnt look like all my apps maybe I dont want that. I unchecked the box and it said You have chosen not to sync apps all apps will be removed from your phone do you wish to continue. That sounded even scarier so I left it checked (I now know what I should have done was unplugged my iphone at this stage - but 20/20 hindsight is no good to me now). My phone synced and I have lost a whole heap of my older free and purchased apps. I read afterwards I should have transfered my apps by selected explicity to do this on the file menu prior to syncing (what!!!). I have now lost my apps (I know I can download them again) but much much much much more worrying and of a vastly larger scale than previously, I have lost the data that went with them, gone forever.This is not acceptable that I should be given a choice between two alternatives by itunes both of which are going to delete my data. So on my iPhone 3G I purchased Treat Me Like Your Mother by the Dead Weather the other day. Everything went fine until about a week later when it had disappeared from my iPhone entirely and iTunes didnt have a record of me buying it. Whatever, I didnt care that much - I managed to get it on my laptop before my phone decided that it wanted control over my purchases as well as what apps I could use (zing!).But now the other shoe has dropped, and Im pretty frustrated - I tried to buy Mountain Man by Crash Kings, and despite paying for it and downloading the file, the Processing... step keeps bombing out and giving me the tap to retry error. I have more than enough space and my connections are good (tried both wifi and 3g), it just doesnt seem to download.I briefly considered calling Apples support line, seeing as clearly they have a problem on their end somewhere when a consumer pays for something they dont receive, but apparently after 90 days it costs $30. Whether this $30 is handled by the same accountants that currently have my $1.98 and didnt give me any songs to go with it or not remains to be seen, but frankly its a chance that Im not willing to take.So in short, if anyone has any help for me, it would be appreciated - but given the current state of Apple support, I wont hold my breath. iPhone 3G Windows Vista

This question is very simple. Why can I not manage my own music on my iphone? I think the answer would be: 1) Click on Summary Tab 2) Manually manage music and videos 3) Music tab - then manage. But No. That does not work. My Iphone rather fills up entirely with as much music as possible leaving me no space to download apps. In fact it will not even show me a list of music currently on my iphone. Why?!!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!
