Having issues with iOS 6.1.4 heating up (in standby) and high battery consumption in standby. It's not consistant but I will, sporatically, notice my phone warming up, in my pocket, to pull it out, turn the screen on and then off again and it'll cool down.Battery consumption is also very high (worse than iOS 6.1 update issue) and is drained quickly. I've closed all active applications (but mail and calendar as I need for work) and still will occur.
There seems to be a lot of people out there dropping their Iphone in the bath so I thought I would share my experience of fixing mine.Firstly if its in warranty consult your dealer - if this doesn't help try the following: A lot of people say stick it in bags of rice / silicon, etc but here is a quicker, more reliable way which is far less likely to contaminate one of the connectors. You do not need any special equipment. Make sure phone is off (If you can still see the screen) - hold sleep and Home for 5 seconds and tap the red off button that appearsPop your oven on a low heat ( less than 100C) for 5 minutes.Wrap your phone inside a sock, doubled over a couple of times so the phone is well protected.Turn oven offPop phone into oven for 30 minutes or longer preferably You could use a hairdryer but be very careful to keep it moving to avoid any localised heat spots that could damage components. If the phone got really soaked you might want to jump down to taking the phone apart - if it is still full of water powering up or charging could result in further damage Let the phone cool and try to power up, if nothing happens check for any signs of water vapour still in the phone and repeat if present. Otherwise try charging and powering up Still no success? this step requires a very small crosshead (some need a 5star) screwdriver, don't compromise and try and use a larger one, damaged screws will cause you even more expense. Very cheap on ebay. Unscrew the 2 small screws at the bottom next to the speaker, slide the back up and lift away. Unscrew the very small screw holding the battery connector in place and pry up the connector (lift the side nearest the edge first). Be careful not to lose the screw or the small metal bracket under the connector. Use the plastic tab sticking up half way along the battery to ease the battery out (usual there is a small amount of glue on them). This will reset the phone (you will not lose anything but the phone will hopeful power up when the battery is replaced). This is a good time to try the drying procedure again to ensure there is no more moisture present. Reconnect the battery screw everything back in place and press the wake button. If this has not succeeded you may need specialist help to test more components.Good luck ( and I cannot stress enough - keep the temperature low when drying)
I am unable to download any app or song from iTunes directly onto my iPhone. It asks for my Apple ID password, accepts the password and then looks like it is downloading, and sayings INSTALLING. 3 seconds later it stops, and won't download.I am able to download apps on my iPad using the same apple account.
I was charging it and listening to pandora when my phone started to feel really hot! I couldn't really touch it. The USB port that plugs into the outlet was hot, along with the actual USB plug in. And then the plug that goes into the phone was very hot too, and the bottom of the phone where the charger goes in was hot. So, in long story short, everything was hot. That was the first time I experienced that, and it scared me so I quickly unplugged the cord and it started to cool down. Not it is completely cooled, the phone, and the cord, and when I try to plug it in again to charge it doesn't charge. I thought maybe it was just the cord. So I got a different one, and it still didn't work. I even tried plugging it into the computer, and still no luck. Some additional information, I was using an extension cord, and was laying in bed. I also have been experiencing issues where the phone would be plugged in, and say that 'it is not supported' or something like that, and would stop charging. And also earlier today I upgraded my phone system to the 6.1.3 Please help!!!!! Will I have to send it in? I hope my phone isn't completely dead! :(
Hi!Apologize if this question has been submitted multiple times. I just got an iPhone 5 within the last few days to replace the lemon of a Droid that I had. I've noticed that as I surf, email, text, FB... the norm, that the phone runs warm. So far, it hasn't gotten excruciatingly hot, or anything, but I usually turn all apps off to let it cool after I notice. Is this normal?? Other friends of mine also have the phone but say they haven't noticed it. Just concerned that it may need to be replaced.
Okay, here's my situation. I was recently given a iPhone 3GS that I was thinking of using an iPod touch (i.e. no cellular data -- just wifi). My car, an Audi A6, has iPhone/iPod integration as well as a built-in WiFi hotspot (using a Tmobile SIM built in to the car). I have a long commute so I listen to a lot of podcasts. I thought it would be cool if I could subscribe to x number of podcasts and have them automatically download/udate without having to touch the 3GS -- just do all the controlling via the car's interface. The problem it doesn't seem like podcasts are downloaded to the "Podcast" directory in the phone anymore (thank you iOS 6 and Apple's Podcast app). Since my car's interface will only stay in the "Music" directory, is there anyway to automatically get podcasts into that directory so I control them using the car's interface? 3rd party app perhaps? Any suggestions? Thanks!
Lg MArkus
hello. i recently turned on my iphone and it started to glitch out, being really slow and i turned it off to see ifmaybe it would cool down and when i when to go turn i back on the back light is on but no visual? and ive tried resetting it.. what do i do?
Iv'e had my IPhone 4s about a month, works fine. My friend recently decided to spam me with as many emoji's as possible. I eneded getting 65 messages filled with emoji's. I think it caused imessage to crash, because when I try to open the app, it simply crashes and goes back to the home screen. Now the only way i can text is using Siri. Is there some way to clear imessage without opening the app? I would really prefer not to restore my phone, so any other solutions would be welcome.
Some apps such as "emoji 2" can help users reveal them. Just curious about why Apple wants to hide them in the keyboard.
I always see the invert colours button and sometimes i used it coz it's cool. But what is the real function of this assessibility?
The emoji should have a giraffe emoji!! how about that?
So I'm not really sure what to do with this information so I'm putting it here. Just updated to iOS 6 (flawless install) and was playing around with the new features when I came across something extremely odd. In the official calendar app, you can now see Facebook events that you have been invited to within the calendar itself. Upon opening them, you can see info about the event with a button at the very bottom that says "View on Facebook." This is really cool, but therein lies my dilemma., When I select "View on Facebook," my iPhone automatically launches a game I have installed called "Supersonic" (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/supersonic/id431087511?mt=8). I have tried this on multiple events on the calendar and the result is the same. When I click the button, it launches Supersonic. Only developers can log bugs with Apple, and thus I am here on the forum talking about it. It seems like a pretty big bug, but I'd imagine that it would only happen to those with Supersonic installed on their device. I guess I'm curious if anyone else might be able to replicate this issue (the app is free and it's actually pretty fun). Also if anyone has suggestions about what to do with this info, I'm listening. Thanks!
I want emoji
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2246056/Woman-takes-picture-mobile-phone -stolen-nightclub-unwittingly-sends-owner.html A woman has unwittingly taken a picture of herself on a stolen iPhone that has then been sent to its rightful owner. With a downloaded app, the owner was able to take a photo of the woman as she tried to unlock the +$400 (£319) mobile phone, as well as map the phone's location after it was stolen from the Coalition nightclub in Brighton, East Sussex earlier this month. The owner, armed with the information and the photo emailed to them by the app, called Sussex Police. The dark-haired woman appeared to be sitting in a car as she tried to access the white iPhone 4. Police said they do not know whether the woman pictured was responsible for the theft but they appealed for her or anyone who recognises her to contact them. Pc Gavin Crute, of Sussex Police, said: ‘The owner of the camera has a rather cool app that takes a picture of anyone who tries to unlock it, maps their current location and then sends all the info back to the owner in an email. ‘We know where and when the photo was taken and it appears to be in a vehicle with quite a large sunroof. ‘We don't know that the woman is the person who stole the camera, but she obviously has had some connection with it in the meantime and I'd like to speak to her about it.’ Anyone with information is asked to call Sussex Police on 101. There are various iPhone apps that track stolen iPhones. It is thought that the app used was iGotYa which is activated when a wrong passcode is entered into the phone keypad. iGotYa is a third-party app, made by Cyndia, which is not available in the official Apple store. It is an alternative to Apple's free Find My iPhone software, which shows a stolen phone's approximate location on a map but does not take a picture of its user. Device Locator costs $2.99 (£1.86) allows the phone owner to track the location of a misplaced iPhone and take a photo which is then sent to a website where the photo can be viewed. This app also allows the user to trigger an audible alarm on the phone. GadgetTrak costs $3.99 (£2.48) can generate location reports, send discreet messages to the device and also take a photo of the thief. The latest statistics reveal 170 iPhones are stolen every day in London, many of them from pedestrians targeted by muggers on bicycles. The wife of Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason recently said she is now too scared to use her phone in public after she was mugged while walking her dogs. Annette Mason had her iPhone snatched from her grasp by a bike-riding hoodie as she was trying to send a text. Okay just who do I gotta convince at Apple to get them to add this to the App Store? Or at least get the feature where a picture, location, date & time is sent back to my email whenever someone enters in the wrong password? I just heard about this story today & taught that's an incredibly beneficial feature to have. Now my iPhones not jailbroken and I really have no interest in jailbreaking so I can't get this app but I would vary much like to see this added to Find My iPhone.
How do you know what each emoji character means? Thank you
I find it so funny that through the update emojis still doesn't have black people emojis but most of the emojis are white people and even has an Indian man emoji. We even have lesbian emoji but no black people. I don't think it would be that hard to add just maybe one or two new emojis. I think emojis should be more diverse. Who else agrees?
I just recently bought the new iPhone 5 and it hasnt even been more than a month since I walked out of the Sprint store with it. Just yesterday it displayed a "Sim card failure" or/and a "Sim card invalid" message several times. I have tried restarting it and it solves the issue temporarily. I have also tried taking out the sim card using a paperclip then cleaning it then putting it back in. I've also tried the "Airplane Mode" solution and I've tried resetting the network settings. I have two questions, will sprint cover this and not charge me if i need to get a new sim card? Remember it hasn't even been a month since i've owned this phone. And yes I am running the latest software (6.0.1) And question number two: Is there any other methods to overcome this obstacle that I missed? It's pretty dissapionting to know that my entire family got 4s iPhones and my iPhone 5 is the one that goes bad. I do have a case on it but its an "incase" model and it seems to keep the phone rather cool compared to the fat, bulky, rubber cases. Please help, i'm planning on visiting a Sprint store after school but any feedback/experiences/recomendations would be great! Thank you!
Everyone has run into a point in time when they are in need of a hot dog emoji. Personally, I find myself needing it many times. It needs to be created.
My girlfriend and I both have iphones. Mine is from Vodafone NZ and I bought hers through the Apple store. In a few weeks time we will leave NZ to live in Daegu, Korea for a year. We would really appreciate it, if anyone knew what we should come to expect. Can we use our NZ iphones in Korea? Thank you in advance... Drew & Nat
My new iPhone 5, and the other I tried when asked for a replacement at the AppleStore today, consider MY OWN VOICE as "noise" if I move the phone away from my ear to let it cool off, or read the agenda out loud. It's "cancelling" my own voice, when my voice enters as much through the top mic as through the lower mic.It seems smart, but THE PROXIMITY SENSOR should be telling the phone that THAT WON'T WORK. The proximity sensor works, turning off/on the screen, so it's not that "the phone doesn't know I moved the phone away" (to stop the noise cancelling system). It just ignores the fact I'm doing it. The system works by reducing the sound that is entering through the top mic but NOT through the lower one, considering it "noise". The problem is when you speak directly to the screen, like reading from the screen, both mics get the same audio, your voice, and it's all considered "noise". For everyone who notices this, here's my technical description. I know Apple will silence until thousands or complaints or next version gets it fixed. I think it's an issue with the software, since the other unit I tried did the same. The Customer rep recommended me NOT to wait for a replacement without that issue, but gave me no solution, so it was like "keep it or return it. It's either that or nothing" (based on the scarcity of new phones) It seems the "replacement" units are older and even probably refurbished. The first one she brought me had the frame nicked and the protective film with hand-palm and finger prints on it. The second one was cleaner, and had the same mutting mic issue. So I'll return this unit next week and I'll wait until they stop speculating with us losing the first month before they say anything officially about the issues we all read about (and could really tell what it is if we had the right screw-driver). No need for a engineer degree to see what's causing it. I can't believe Apple's silence about the rattling noise and this. I'd like an official answer for this and the rattling noise (tap it next to the camera with one finger while on your ear).

Hi! Since upgrading to iOS6, my iPhone 4S, bought from UK (factory unlocked), has been having trouble connecting to wi-fi. Earlier I thought it was due to software, so I reset my software, but finally, it completely disabled the wi-fi option. I checked a few forums where they said if you cool your iPhone enough, the wi-fi will start working again. I tried that and it worked. But still if the surrounding temperature rises over 23-25 degrees, the wi-fi stops working initially (which means it won't scan any wi-fi networks) and if I restart the phone, the wi-fi toggle button would now be disabled. So I would again have to switch it off, cool it to at least 18-20 degrees and start it back again. The wi-fi would start working again. Is anybody else facing the same problem? Is Apple aware of it? Is Apple accepting it as a fault? And most importantly, Is Apple planning to fix it?
Hello. Ive never even wanted to use my time to do this. But this maps app is absolutly discusting. There are a couple cool things but for the most part its horrible. I drive for a living. So I use maps app all the time. This has affected how I do my job. Ill either get a android phone soon if apple doesnt fix this problem. I dont like that you have to redo your directions each time you shut your phone off instead of starting off were your current position is. I dont like that you cant swipe to the next turn you have to make so you can see ahead. I have no use for the 3D option. Thats cool for some and I understand that. But please take it back it to the way the old maps worked but keep the voice navigation. I do like the maps sceem. But people if this is not were I need to post this please let me know. email mypack97@yahoo.com email me people please if you can help me or tell me were to find were I can email apple so they can see this complaint. I dont want to sound like a complainer cause im not. I just dont like this new maps app. I love apple products. IOS is awesome.
How do I remove emoji 2 from contact list?
Hi Guys, It's now been ONE HOUR since I installed a T-Mobile SIM card into a brand new, out of the box iPhone 5, running on the factory installed iOS 6.0. Issues within the FIRST HOUR: 01. Several unwanted shutdowns, despite having 30% juice. 02. Several unwanted restarts. Being the woman that she is, she's randomly turning herself off and on ;o). 03. SIM card could be found when it was first installed one hour ago. Then the SIM card couldn't be found. Several unwanted restarts still didn't find the SIM card. 04. Even with 30% juice, she kept turning herself off, and then back on, even when I wasn't touching her. 05. Phone getting hot, even when I was doing NOTHING on her. Unlike some of the other posts in Apple's discussion forums, this is definitely NOT related to Maps OR the App store. All I was doing was rearranging the icons on the home page, and going through the Settings. 06. Power dropped from 32% to 30% in TWO MINUTES, with NO apps running. 07. During one of the many unwanted restarts during the first hour of use, on the Apple logo startup, a single line of coding lettering could be seen BEHIND the screen, at the very bottom of the screen. Such coding is clearly not supposed to be seen by the user. I've never seen such coding on my iPhone 3GS. 08. Setting to show battery percentage at the top of the screen not being saved between unwanted restarts. 09. Flickering screen. Intermittent issue. Unlike other posts in Apple's discussion forums, this is definitely NOT related to Maps OR the App store. 10. Sometimes during the intermittent flickering screen issue, a faint green 4mm stripe down the entire left side of the screen. 11. During one unwanted restart, vertical light grey and dark grey HARD stripes down the whole screen, each about 4mm wide. 12. Setting to use Siri not being saved between unwanted restarts. 13. After yet another unwanted restart, going to Settings to turn Siri back on. Clicking the Siri Settings button does not give me options, but instead, quits Settings, and goes straight back to the home page. 14. Recording video on my iPhone 3GS, to evidence problem 13. Clicking the Settings button on the iPhone 5 did not take me to the Settings. Instead, the screen colours all faded increasingly dark, until turning to complete black within five seconds. Ten attempted restarts have refused to get beyond the black screen. This phone is ONE HOUR OLD, and after issues 01 to 13 raised their ugly heads, issue 14 has now killed the phone completely. Since issue 14 occurred, I left her to cool down for 45 minutes. She's now cold, but she's still a dead brick, refusing to restart. Very glad to have recorded issues 03, 06, 07, 08, and 14 on my iPhone 3GS, so that I can take the evidence to my local Apple store tomorrow, and show it to them. With so many varied, serious problems being reported by iPhone 5 users all over the world, it suggests a quality control issue at FoxConn. Perhaps FoxConn's staff deliberately performed countless bad assemblies, to draw the world's attention to their working conditions. I would suggest that Apple Cupertino contacts me, so that I can send them photographic and video evidence of at least some of these hardware issues. If you're running iOS 5.1.1 on a 3GS, 4, or 4S, I would advise you to stay exactly where you are, until Apple Cupertino solves these numerous problems with the iPhone 5 and/or iOS 6.0. Best, Michael ThorneLondon, England
Ok, so me and my friend are usng the same id, cause were like childhood friends, were like family almost been together for like ever, so she and I used the same id, so forth, for itunes store, cause we like share apps when she finds a cool one, or i find one, we just kind of yah know? so anyways her phone blacked last night with the update of ios 6 and i thought fixed it this morning, and for whatever reason while she and i were txting, the thing randomy said on the screen, Her phone name, and my phone number? didnt make any sence to me? it was weird, does this mean she will be getting my messages now?
I sure will let you know. I was doing the same things as you and it got as warm as you said in my hands. Texts, web browing, that's it. I have noticed that it is cool as a cucumber now, it's sitting, not plugged in. I'm doing the battery run all the way down trick today and tomorrow to see if that helps things. Doesn't that always help the battery? I'll let you know, thanks for the input! D
I was wondering if there is anyway of downgrading iOS 6 to 5.1.1 in my iphone 4 because of following reason. 1) Thought the new map application would be cool with all those 3D views. My iPhone 4 did not even supported 3D view. So what is the point of having such map that is not as good as google map. I also miss the street view.2) Missed old youtube app.3) My camera does not even support Panoramic shots.4) No Siri or voice dictation. I thought I would get all these cool features in my iphone 4. I feel so stupid right now. Is there any way to downgrade? Otherwise I was thinking to trade my iphone with the one that has older version.
Is anyone else besides me having a problem and having to restore midway through updating? It got caught on the "usb & itunes" screen at 530 this morning waking me up from the bright screen and it would only let me restore my phone from there AND at first it didn't let me because it made me UPDATE itunes first. I feel like pulling my hair out. I would have not updated my phone if it was going to creat so many problems!! Goodbye all my pictures, music and media. cool!
My daughter downloaded the emoji app and now i have all the imodicons filling up my contact list, , The delete alloption does not apear as the app stated to clear the app from phone, apple 4
Hey, I purchased an iPhone 4S approximately 10-12 Months ago and recently I've encountered some overheating issues. Usually when the iPhone would get too hot to hold or I could feel it being an issue I would turn off the iPhone and let it cool for a while, however just yesterday my iPhone during a 30-60 Minute phone call got so hot it actually burnt my hand. Now for Healthy/Safety Risks/Issue I've stopped using the phone however it is the only phone I have currently and need to get this issue fixed. So here I am asking you guys what I should do, I don't have the option to go to a Apple Store. From my memory I don't have the receipt but I still have the Box. Cheers
Not been able to use my iPhone 4 for over a week now originally due to the screen freezing on "enter passcode" page. The probelm has escalated to keyboard and generally unable to use the handset in any reliable way. Please point me in the right direction to fixing this. Symptoms and log of activities in chronological order; - the arrow freezes when "slide to unlock". This would persist over a period of time (a day to 7-8 days), first incident around April. After many manual resets, able to access without the arrow freezing. Observed that this kept happening after the iPhone has been switched off. - the above problem returned last week after the device was switched off then back on. This time, the arrow freezed for 15-30 seconds then "enter passcode" page appeared. The keyboard that appears is unresponsive so nothing happens when you press the buttons. The text entry cursor does not blink. iPhone eventually crashes with a spinning loading sign on freeze. - cannot switch off phone, unless with hard reset by holding the home + on/off buttons. - the same issue returns immediately. - restoring iPhone (first time) - required to update to IOS 5.1.1. Still the problem persists - appointment with Genius bar - explained the problem. Does not take a look at the handset once but offers a replacement at a cost. - Suspect it might be a glitch rather than a hardware damage (it's only under 8 months old) so attempts another restore. This time, set up/configure screen comes up on the device. Chooses not to set passcode. Screen is responsive, able to choose launguage, country etc... Hope returns, it actually seems to be working. Slide to unlock, takes 15-30 seconds but does unlock. Able to open and delete emails and SMS texts. Apps such as facebook seems to be working although generally everything is slow. - HOWEVER, keyboard across all apps unresponsive and text entry cursor does not blink. The apps crashes then returns to home screen. - Deleted emoji international keyboard in the hope that the keyboard problem would go away. - After a number of crashes, the screen is black. The Backlight of the screen is on but unable to switch off or do hard reset. From deduction, the problem seems to be with the keyboard across all apps. Has anyone had similar problems and did you find any fixes? I really don't want to have to pay for another replacement so please please, do share your knowledge. Thank you
I have activated photostream and so now via iCloud my iPhone 4S is transferring photos to my MBA - cool. Does anybody know how now I can delete the photos from the iPhone, once the photos are transferred, without going one by one in the camera roll?
will the person receiving the text message with emoji characters see them even if they don't have emoji set up on their smartphones?
Please Apple help older devices improve.... I already saw that iOS 5 is very good i wish that it will be available at older devices before 3GS. iOS 4.2.1 is a cool update though. Thanks alot.
Something weird has been happening recently, over the past week actually. When I go to the search iPhone area, and then go back to home screen, by either swiping back or pressing the home button, the Keyboard from the Search screen Still remains on screen. It disappears ONLY when I open an app OR by locking the phone and un-locking. Any suggestions?? I have emoji app installed, I heard that could cause problems? Iphone 4, 5.1.1
I have a iPhone 4S since 3 weeks, and i really like the design. At the moment, i have a switcheasy Nude, but i dont like it, so i will send it back to the store. So im looking for a new case, but im not sure if the iPhone really needs protection. I think the bumper is pretty cool, it keeps the design of the iphone cool en slick. But wont scratch the backpanel of the iPhone too much? I allways put the phone in my pocket, and make sure that keys and stuff like that is in the other pocket. So is back protection really necessary ? So who of you have an iPhone 4 or 4S, and have only the bumper as protection, so no sticker of something on the back? Do there appear any scratches??
My factory unlocked iPhone 4S on T-Mobile cant receive emoji icons from an ATT iPhone. Instead I see a bunch of weird symbols, but the ATT iPhone can receive emoji's from my phone. Also some of my friends have a verizon iPhone and I can receive their emoji icons, and they can receive mine. At one point I was able to receive emoji icons from ATT iPhones. Is this a problem on ATT's network or T-Mobile's ? any help would be greatly appreciated !
Ok so I had been having issues with my iPhone. Then I noticed it had a hairline crack in the screen, never dropped or hit etc. I called support and a tech dude to.d me it would not be a problem based on my issues. I asked what it was going to cost me to get it replaced and he told me $30. Not sure how he arrived at that amount but it seemed very reasonable. I sent my iPhone in as soon as I got a replacement and they also charged me a hold of like $700 in case I didn't send the iPhone back. Once they got it back they lifted the hold.So this week I'm going thru my bank statement and lo and behold there is a charge for 211 bucks from apple. So I call them and sure enough it was a repair charge. So they hook me up with a rep who says he is sorry for the charge and not only will they be refunding the $211 but as a bonus, the $30 as well. Ok, this is really cool. But then he says something like the way it works is you won't see the refund until you get your next bank statement and they refund it back to your bank. Does this sound plausible? I mean, every time I have ever gotten a refund from a charge card it shows up right away in my online banking. It's kinda silly that I have to wait to get my 211 back of my money that was basically stolen from my account. In no instance was I told that there would be a Spain charge or this would be taken from my account nor was it authorized. Especially considering they already took the $30, a number again I'm not sure how they arrived at which is probably why the rep told me they would refund all of it.In any event, I don't want to get burned I'm thinking of just filing an unauthorized claim with the bank because I've never heard of something taking a month or whatever to get your money back.

I have a factory unlocked iPhone 4SI have a $50 monthly 4g plan on tmobile but I doubt that is relevant I am running iOS 5.1.1Whenever I send emojis to other iPhones my recipients cannot see them unless it is on iMessage. Even on the Facebook app, I can see emojis that friends send me in messages but when I reply with an emoji via facebook it says "message cannot be delivered at this time"However one single emoji does work on Facebook and it is the red heart Can someone help me fix this or at least tell me why it won't work?I can see emojis fine but for some reason I can't send them. My brother gifted me an iPhone 4s 2 days back and when i connected it i was given a prompt to update it to 5.1.1. After i used my phone for around 4-5 and my iphone 4s battery was @ 10% it was fully charged, i read a lot of forums and they said that .. if you reset all your settings and setup as a new iphne .. mine was out of the box but i still did try that and it was still the same . Als i have activated a 2g plan on it.. if i have that off and dont use the phone i get a good battery backup.. When i used my 2g to browse the internet or anything that needs net access my phone gets so heated up i have to leave for some time to cool it down .. so i can work on it .. and the batter in 10 mins goes down around 10-15%. I would requested if any help cn be done on this Thx

Hello everyone in Apple's discussion board. I NEED HELP I'm having a problem regarding my emoji keyboard.I'm on iPod Touch Gen 3 64GB Currently iOS 5.1.1Since updated iOS5.0.1 to iOS5.1 in March, I've been experiencing this issue. It's quite annoying and i'm looking forward to any solutions from you guys.. "This also happens to my friends who are on iPhone4/4S several times" It happens according to the photo below.*NOTE* It happens not all the time but quite often. When I switch to emoji keyboardfrom my language keyboard, this will happen. Sometimes it doesn't. BUT if I switch betweenemoji tabs, those emoticons will appear again. I really have no ideas whether it's because of my device itself or the operating system.I have updated iOS5.1.1 which is the recent one but it doesn't get rid of this bug.PLEASE HELP
If you dont have an i-Phone, you dont have an i-Phone......
2 week old iPHONE 4s and sound stopped working suspiciously around the time I started using my headphones and Bluetooth speakers. (Much like several people have experienced.) No speaker sound for any alerts or other sound producing actions or APPS other than Ringtones and Siri. Soft/hard resets, reboots, reloading firmware in new phone and restore modes and closing all apps (double click home >> minus arrow...) has done nothing but an occasional, one-time, unlocking alert. The phone has been encased in a protective cover since purchase that covers the headphone and docking ports. Symptoms: Side volume buttons only display ringer/speaker icon, no volume bar shown below speaker, for ringer or speaker volume. With Settings >> Sound >> Ringer and Alerts "Change with Buttons" = ON, The slider bar will (intermittently, but mostly) not move with side buttons. If you exit Settings and hold down a + or - volume button, no bar is displayed on the white popup speaker volume Icon. But if you go back to the Sound settings menu, the slider bar has moved in the direction of the side button pushed. The slider won't visibly move with the side side buttons unless you first (kick-start) move the slider with the touch screen with/without simultaneous holding a side button. Then it will move. (This works in the = ON as well as = OFF setting...) In the OFF setting, doing this sometimes makes the speaker volume icon show up and appear to be adjusting the volume, but no sound from speakers. Icon will sometimes show the speaker with sound waves but no sound bar, sound waves should go away when volume is muted (turned all the way down.) so that in itself is odd. With any sound APP, the volume controls act like it is either docked via bottom connector, paired with Bluetooth speakers or headphones are plugged in to headphone jack. No sound from speakers, but everything works fine through any alternate speaker option. And the additional volume slider on those APPS is displayed and moved with side buttons/touch screen. While playing "Music", double clicking home and scrolling full left, shows another volume control. Full off volume is displayed and there is no control (touch or buttons). While the settings trick of holding a side button and moving the alert slider volume in OFF mode does sometimes get the volume "Icon" bar working, there is usually no change on this volume control display or in sound. Sometimes you are able to see the Music volume control has matched the Icon setting (but still no sound), but as soon as you touch the screen, the slider button disappears. There are two volume levels. One for internal speakers, and one for external. Using the "kick-start" method, within the Volume settings window only, the two Icon volumes can be set independently by plugging and unplugging headphones (still no internal speaker sound). Directly locking and unlocking the phone stops internal speaker volume icon from working. With headphones plugged in, "Headphones" is not displayed above the speaker Icon if the kick-start method was used. The list goes on and on but I shall stop here. I think you get the point that some combination of connector/chip/firmware confusion is going on. Temporary Fix:Using a can of Dust Off, blowing out the bottom docking connector gets the internal speaker working for a while. After a short time, sound will stop and the volume buttons will display the speaker Icon, with sound waves, but no sound bar or control. Plugging in headphones works, unplugging them pauses music as expected, but upon playing, still no internal speaker sound or control. Blowing air into the docking port again, after sound has stopped, will cause the play button to display a paused button. Pushing play will produce sound from the internal speakers, for a while. I strongly suspect this is has to do with thermal expansion screwing up a connection or chip near the docking port. Several of the fixes I have seen people do with brushing/cleaning the ports and such may have really just inadvertently "fixed" a poor/broken connection, not a dirty connection. Oddly enough, no amount of shaking, tapping the phone or wiggling a docking plug in the connector seems to fix, or break the sound problem. Upon completion of this summary, and several iterations of the sound coming back on with blown air, I discovered, while picking up the phone, and covering the right speaker, the sound dropped greatly. The left speaker has little to no sound coming out of it, Mono and the left/right settings has no effect on either speaker. Ring Tones and Seri both have no sound coming out of the left speaker both when music sound works as when it does not. Both channels work fine through headphones. Cooling the phone with an air conditioning duct, as well as leaving it in a cold environment (fridge) brings back the right speaker. At this point I think a replacement is necessary. If you are experiencing this problem, see if temperature has an effect on the symptoms. Have you found that your "intermitted" problems line up with hot or cool environments the phone is exposed to?
Hi cool person who is reading this, I did something stupid... maybe What happened? so... my out of warranty iPhone 4 power button stopped functioning all of a sudden and it also no longer made that "click" when pressed. What did I do? I decided to open up the phone and tried to do this, (at 4:30 is what I did)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i5mFBfZg1bo It basically shows a guy who bonded a very very small washer to the bottom of the power button. I tried this and it didn't work, probably because my washer was a was too big, i filed it down a bit, still didn't work, so I just put it back together, i noticed a few things: After Reassembly, this happened: power button still does not work, and doesn't "click"iPhone camera app shutter does not open and the bottom right "camera/video" icons just flicker, I've concluded this is because of the front camera not working.the ear speaker for phone calls is now "crackly".I noticed my WiFi and network signal isn't as strong, maybe a bar less on WiFi and a bar or 2 less on network. Temporary solutions: A walk around camera fix is that i installed "camera plus pro" and this allows me to take photos and video. If I switch to the front camera it freezes, again confirming the front camera is not working. What should I do next? So I obviously did something when i took my phone apart and put it back together. I did open it up again and confirmed that all the flex cables and connections were seated properly. I ordered these parts from eBay: Power ButtonPower Button Flex CableBack Camera Lens With Flex Ribbon Cable Feedback If anyone has any ideas, feedback, suffers from the same problem, please feel welcome to continue the discussion. I will be posting a reply after I receive my parts from eBay also.
