Iphone 4S Wifi slider not working

Hello everyone, I've recently got my WIFI slider greyed out. I was on a lower version than 6.1.3 before I got this issue, now after trying several resets and network resets and other stuff such as using the hair-dryer trick and freezer trick it didn't work. Now as I've seen in a tutorial on Apple it says you must go to Settings --> About --> Resets and then reset the network settings, but after doing that my Wifi-Adress stays with some numbers instead of N/A which other people gets, I still have a WIFI-Adress in it no matter if I reset my whole Iphone or not. Airpot has always been off, when I'm in the menu of setting Iphone up, it most likely skips the Find wifi part where you connects to your WIFI. The Iphone it self has not even a scratch, I've not really dropped it before or anything, I've had it for some time now but not really got it damaged. So people, any ideas? It's running on IOS 6 6.1.3 now.

Using Sharepod with iphone 5

Is there a trick to using Sharepod with the iphone 5? When I use sharepod 3.9.9.0 it corrupts the iphone database. I get the nice message "iTunes cannot read iPhone content".  I keep having to do this to fix the iphone database. https://discussions.apple.com/message/15637529#15637529 When I use the new version of sharepod I don't have the option to copy music from my computer to my iphone.  I am trying to copy music from my computer to my iphone. I would hope there would be a way to do this without using itunes. I really don't want to use itunes or like itunes at all. Is there a way to fix this problem with sharepod?   What other programs have the same functionality as sharepod that can copy music from your computer to your iphone 5 and vice versa?

Hi, i went to a party this friday and i fell in the pool with my iphone 4s in my pocket i got it out quick but the screen was all black, i came home and i did the rice trick and i opened a few minutes ago and i can hear sounds and it vibrates but the screen is all black. i dont have the money right now to buy a new one, i bought mine october 2012 but not at the apple store i got it with my plan with my phone provider so what can i do? thanks for your time and sorry for my bad english.

how to get photos from iphone 5 with unresponsive screen

My iphone was dropped a few days ago and the screen became unresponsive. All the buttons work fine, but I can't swipe to turn it on or enter my passcode. I took the phone to an Apple store and was told by a not-nice guy that there was nothing they could do and that I could not get any of my photos off of the phone because I had the phone passcode protected. I thought Apple wanted everyone to passcode their phones! I wish I had known that this would prevent me from accessing my photos if anything happened to my phone. I have sadly come to accept that my phone cannot be fixed and that I will need to shell out big bucks for a replacement. However, I cannot accept that there is no way to retrieve the material on my phone. When I plug the phone into the computer, it is recognized fine and stuff will download to the phone. However, iTunes tells me that it cannot synch FROM the phone until I enter the passcode on the phone, which of course, I cannot do .   I am really hoping that someone will know some trick to getting stuff off of a phone with an unresponsive screen. Please, please help this very sad iphone user.  The photos are all the photos I have of my young daughter. I know, I should have learned to to back my phone up, but when I tried a few months ago, I couldn't figure it out, so I have no backup. I even tried to set up iCloud, but I couldn't figure that out either. I suppose I deserve to lose all the photos from my daughter's babyhood . Thanks for helping if you can! (please!!)

Iphone 5 private speaker doesnt work

After 15 days of regular use, the internal speaker stop working for phone calls, and we need to use headsets or conference speaker.I would like to know if its an sofware issue ( that I can resolve), or al Hardware issue ( need to  send to other Country for repair, because I am aboard).I saw a lot of other people with the same problem, and most of them went to Apple Store for a replacement, but I had never read a conclusion about the origin of the problem.I was told by a local AppStore that probably is a Logic Problem, and a Logic Chip must be replaced... but sounds Crazy, I couldnt be reprogramed ?Can any "Genius" instruct us If we can solve it by a software trick ?I had already reset the Iphone as a New one , and actually I am in IOS 6.1.3.Best Regards. Eng. Why can I only hear sound through my headphones iPhone 4S

This has happened before and usually plugging my headphones in and out seems to do the trick, but not this time. I can't hear any sounds when my headphones aren't plugged in. I've tried resetting, turning things off and on again, tried cleaning out the docking port, and still nothing? Any ideas of what I can do before I resort to bringing it into apple?

My iPhone 4s not making noise except for when someone calls me an alarm going off or unlocking it.

I have no sound except for my ringtone, alarm, and sometimes the unlocking noise. No text alerts, email alerts, media noise, Pandora noise, iTunes noise, anything. First on my own I restored it to factory settings, cleaned the dock and head jack, did the head phone trick in and out, and I have checked for water damage. I have searched the threads and Google for solutions but none have worked. I talked to Apple today and they made me restore it again and it still doesn't work. ^Usually theres a volume bar on videos, none here. ^Theres no thing to slide the sound back and forth here. ^Also no sound bar here.

iPhone 4 Restore Problem

Hi, I've got a White iPhone 4 16GB Model and recently I've had trouble with it. First it started to drain the battery really fast so i decided to replace the battery but that didn't do the trick it still drained the battery. 15 days after replacing the battery i noticed the phone dumped its own operating system and reverted back to factory settings (iOS 5+ First time setup screen) i set the phone back up again and just left it.   after a few months of not touching it, because i got 2 other iPhone's (4s & 5) that i can use i thought i would restore the whole OS using iTunes and hoping that would solve the problem but i cant get far as to loading iOS onto the phone. after extracting the software the phone restarts and displays the 2001 error. Update to 6.1.1 failed-stuck in recovery mode iPhone 4S

I am a Vodafone customer in the UK with an iPhone 4S.  I didn't actually see the warning from Vodafone saying not to update to 6.1.0 and so went ahead and did it.  I had no problems whatsoever, was working perfectly fine.  I then saw the release of 6.1.1 and the advice from Vodafone to do it.  I went ahead and did it Over The Air but it didn't complete.  I got the message on my phone saying to plug into iTunes.  iTunes said my phone was in recovery mode and I had to restore.  Tried to do it but got unknown error 36 and the restore failed.  Went through all the suggestions on the support website - tried different computers (Windows and Mac OS), different USB cables, different network etc.  Contacted support in the UK and they called back.  Went through the whole thing again, tried the holding home and reset trick etc.  Still not luck.  In the end they put me through to support in the US who said they have the engineers looking at it. Has anyone else had this issue?  Error 36 can be a hardware error and I'm worried they will say there is a problem with my device and make me pay for servicing (out of warranty).  There was absolutely nothing wrong with it, it was definitely the upgrade to 6.1.1 that did it.  Without sounding selfish, I'm hoping it is a widespread issue so that they admit liability and fix/replace without cost or release 6.1.2. 

iPhone 4S dies quickly even when phone off

I have a 16GB iPhone 4S for AT&T that dies within around seven hours with very very light usage. Today I after charging it all night I took it off the charger at 7:40 a.m. I used it to send 2 text and turned it off at 8:30 with 96%. At 9:20 I turned it back on and it had 81%, it was off the whole time and was not hot. By 1:40 my phone had died.  Once my phone die it would not show the connect to charger symbol. When I plugged it up to the charger it showed the lightning charging symbol. The symbol stayed there for 2 hours until I couldn't take it anymore. I tried the power and home button trick and it did not work. I put the phone back on the charger for the next 3 hours and it finally turned on.  When the phone turned on I had no cellular, no wifi, and no Bluetooth, when I tried to turn it on it would even give me the option. I turn the phone off and on, same thing. I take it off the charger and it Immediately dies, I am getting ****** I take off the back and unplug the battery. After I unplug the battery I held down the power button for 15 seconds, plug it back in and it gives me the connect to charger symbol. I plug it up and 15 mins later it turns on and everything is working perfectly fine it just dies really quick and I'm scared it might happen again.  What is going on and how can I fix it?

I had recently got my iphone 5 for christmas and i immediately noticed that it was not staying connected to my home wifi, but my tablet, ipad and computer was working fine. i turned on "ask to join networks" and thought that would do the trick, but nothing has worked yet. i tried to look it up and nothing was helping me. anyone know what to do??  thank you

iPhone 5 ringtone

I was lucky enough to get an iPhone 5 this AM and I'm trying to set up a song as a ringtone.  I've followed the old instructions - created AAC version, changed file extension to M4R, etc.  Despite this, the song doesn't appear on the list of ringtones.  Is there some new trick I need to know?  I'd like to have an option besides the standard ringtones preloaded on the phone.  One thing I noticed - I renamed the file by adding .m4r but Windows still identifies it as an M4A file.  Do I need a file conversion program to do this instead of simply renaming the file? Thanks, Chris

Excuse me if I sound a really silly...but for a long time now I keep wondering, how can I use smileys/emoticons on my iPhone5 text messaging pallete. I have seen few people using it and always felt a bit embarassed to ask them, as I should not be peeping into their screens while they typing anything  Any smart guys out there or may be as dumb as me, but still knows the trick? After the iOS 6.0.1 update, my WiFi won't even slide to "ON" with my 4S, any suggestions to get it back on? Resetting factory settings didn't do the trick nor did reboosting it. Any ideas at all?

I'm looking for a great ID thief protection program and thought I had found one but was told it wasn't compatible with my Mac and iPhone. Many come with things like Norton antivirus and other of elements. Doesn't make sense since it would be protecting my bank accts etc that I use online. Hi all, My Iphone does not have any sound coming out of it at all (music/apps/ringtones alert tones/keyboard clicks/calls) through the internal speaker/s or even by headphones and it seems my mic is also dead as people on the other line that call me cannot hear me too. I can hear music from my iphone through my laptops speakers when connectd to itunes via the dock. It also does not vibrate at all. Other than that I can play games, receive and send txt messages and do all the other things but very silently. It all started when I accidentally dropped my Iphone a few weeks back and my lcd screen cracked. It still had full sounds coild play music receive calls hear app sounds click etc and vibrate even though the screen was cracked. I had the lcd screen replaced the day after and everything was ok with it. It had normal sounds and vibration functions until two days later when it just stopped making any sounds at all and stopped vibrating. I plugged in headphines but still could not hear anything. I plugged the phone thru itunes on my laptop and was suprised to hear sounds coming from my laptops speakers. So obviously th dock connector works. I took it back to the technician who replaced my screen and he changed the internal speaker and mic but still no sound and I could not record on mic so its not those parts.  One thing that makes me believe its a board or ic problm is that before i lost the sound and vibration on my Iphone it became very hot after a person called me 4 times until the phone rang out 2 days after I got the screen replaced. It eventually shut down 2-3 times due to overheating. The next morning the sound and vibration were gone.  I've tried the dock and headphone and cleaning trick. Hard restart, reset, and all the suggestions I could find on the internet but to no avail. Has anyone come across this problems and been able to fix their Iphone/s. Thanks heaps in advance,Reg

Has anyone here tried the next-day-retail-pickup option for an iPhone 5?   Has anyone tried it - but still not gotten one?  Right now I have my iPhone 5 ordered online through Apple.   It's not expected for a few more weeks, alas.  Two days after I placed that order , Apple announced that you could order online after 10pm for next day pickup at a retail store. I called Apple to ask if I could simply "convert" my existing order to a next day pickup.  I was told that I'd have to (1) cancel the online order (2) maybe wait a day for my upgrade-pricing eligibility to reset and THEN (3) place the order online after 10pm.  BUT - she also added that even the next-day-pickup orders were subject to stores' inventory.    So, I called my local store to ask about availability.   Rather than telling me anything about their current inventory, the gal there just repeated that I should order online after 10pm.  Of course, the entire point of my doing this would be to reduce my wait time (not roll the dice on MAYBE reducing my wait time.)    Yet apparently my only option is to "step out of line" with my existing online order before I can even see how long the line is for in-store pickup.     If it turns out I'll have to keep trying again every night after 10pm in the HOPE that maybe this time there'll be an iPhone 5 available for the next day, then I go from my current 2-3 week wait to a god-only-knows-how-long wait, with nightly online order attempts.     There's no way for me to adequately express my distaste for this catch-22 without using verboten language.    If anyone has an idea how I can TRY the next-day-pickup trick WITHOUT first squandering the 2 weeks I've already been in the online queue - please let me know. 

iPhone 5 issues Mail won't pushrunning very warm

I sure will let you know.  I was doing the same things as you and it got as warm as you said in my hands.  Texts, web browing, that's it.   I have noticed that it is cool as a cucumber now, it's sitting, not plugged in.  I'm doing the battery run all the way down trick today and tomorrow to see if that helps things.  Doesn't that always help the battery? I'll let you know, thanks for the input! D

iPhone 4 no service searching

Yes, another no service thread but mine is different from almost everyone elses.In my university, since we're near the water and the closest antenna is far away we get little to no coverage in some places, thing is my iPhone, when I lose the signal by going to a place where there isnt any and come back to an other place I'm sure I got coverage, does not for any reason search for signal, it just doesn't, it stays in the no service thingy as long as I let it, the airplane mode trick does not help, even tho I get my bars back I lose the carrier name and the phone doesnt do anything, calls/sms it just doesnt work.. Ultimately it seems restarting does the trick, thing is its a pain in my butt to do this 30 times a day, and it certainly can't be healthy to the phone itself, I tried reseting the network settings and it works for a few days, but eventually it gets back to the same situation.. So I need some help, I'm on my second phone as the otherone had the exact same problem but it wouldnt go away with any of the tricks I described above. I'm on 5.0.1, restoring the phone didn't help either, as a backup or original.. I talked to my carrier vodafone PT and changed my microsim, but it wasn't that either.. and they have no other explanations and they can't help me with the hardware since my phone is factory unlocked.. In other words, I'm in desperate need of help so any ideas would be very apreciated. Best regards.

Cannot access touchtone menus with my IPhone 4

When I call someplace with a touchtone menu (like the pharmacy for a prescription refill or an extension) it does not recognize my choices.  I have an Iphone 4 - it's pretty new to me still so I am hoping I just don't know the right "trick" to make it work.

iPhone Home Button not working and Voice Control starts on its own

Hi, Up till last night my iPhone was working totally fine. I never have dropped it nor has anything physical happened to it. I think I may have a software problem but: the home button is not working at all, and the voice control is starting on its own randomly. This started out of the blue last night. This morning, suddenly my home button was working again, for all of 5 minutes, before it went back to not working, and voice control going off on its own again. Oh, and it doesn't turn off at all! Each time I turn the phone off, it will immediately turn itself on again. It's as if my phone is possessed!  I've tried resetting it already, and also updated to the iatest iOS. Not helping. I tried the trick to go to a native app, hold the wake/sleep button and exit the app, not working.  This is very very odd and I suspect it's a software issue, almost as if there's a virus on my phone. Anyone habe suggestions? Thanks!

iPhone 4 mic not working via Bluetooth

My iPhone 4 microphone isn't working during calls, the people on the other end can't hear me. The mic works OK in apps like Skype, etc. I tried the cardboard trick and it worked for one call and then it stopped working again. I then decided to buy a bluetooth headset and work around the iPhone 4's faulty, but to my surprise that isn't working either. Even with the Bluetooth headset I can hear the other people but they can't hear me. Is there any way to get this working?

sudden no service issue abroad iPhone

Hi, I have an iPhone 4s on Sprint. It's on 5.1.1 and I've used it internationally before. I'm in Hong Kong and I had service at the airport but at my hotel I have no service. Yet, everyone else with 4 and 4S has service here. I've tried network reset, I have no pin set, I've done the airplane mode trick, reconfirmed roaming settings are correct, etc.  I don't know how to proceed. I've emailed Sprint but due to the timezone difference I'm not within their operating hours.  Thanks for any thoughts.   I can't do an itunes restore because I'm on my work laptop using Ubuntu.

No Alerts or music sounds SiriRingtones ok dockheadphone ok iPhone

2 week old iPHONE 4s and sound stopped working suspiciously around the time I started using my headphones and Bluetooth speakers. (Much like several people have experienced.) No speaker sound for any alerts or other sound producing actions or APPS other than Ringtones and Siri. Soft/hard resets, reboots,reloading firmware in new phone and restore modes and closing all apps (double click home >> minus arrow...) has done nothing but an occasional, one-time, unlocking alert. The phone has been encased in a protective cover since purchase that covers the headphone and docking ports. Symptoms: Side volume buttons only display ringer/speaker icon, no volume bar shown below speaker, for ringer or speaker volume.With Settings >> Sound >> Ringer and Alerts "Change with Buttons" = ON, The slider bar will (intermittently, but mostly) not move with side buttons. If you exit Settings and hold down a + or - volume button, no bar is displayed on the white popup speaker volume Icon. But if you go back to the Sound settings menu, the slider bar has moved in the direction of the side button pushed. The slider won't visibly move with the side side buttons unless you first (kick-start)  move the slider with the touch screen with/without simultaneous holding a side button. Then it will move. (This works in the = ON as well as = OFF setting...) In the OFF setting, doing this sometimes makes the speaker volume icon show up and appear to be adjusting the volume, but no sound from speakers. Icon will sometimes show the speaker with sound waves but no sound bar, sound waves should go away when volume is muted (turned all the way down.) so that in itself is odd.With any sound APP,  the volume controls act like it is either docked via bottom connector, paired with Bluetooth speakers or headphones are plugged in to headphone jack. No sound from speakers, but everything works fine through any alternate speaker option. And the additional volume slider on those APPS is displayed and moved with side buttons/touch screen. While playing "Music", double clicking home and scrolling full left, shows another volume control. Full off volume is displayed and there is no control (touch or buttons). While the settings trick of holding a side button and moving the alert slider volume in OFF mode does sometimes get the volume "Icon" bar working, there is usually no change on this volume control display or in sound. Sometimes you are able to see the Music volume control has matched the Icon setting (but still no sound), but as soon as you touch the screen, the slider button disappears.There are two volume levels. One for internal speakers, and one for external. Using the "kick-start" method, within the Volume settings window only, the two Icon volumes can be set independently by plugging and unplugging headphones (still no internal speaker sound). Directly locking and unlocking the phone stops internal speaker volume icon from working.  With headphones plugged in, "Headphones" is not displayed above the speaker Icon if the kick-start method was used.The list goes on and on but I shall stop here. I think you get the point that some combination of connector/chip/firmware confusion is going on. Temporary Fix:Using a can of Dust Off, blowing out the bottom docking connector gets the internal speaker working for a while. After a short time, sound will stop and the volume buttons will display the speaker Icon, with sound waves, but no sound bar or control. Plugging in headphones works, unplugging them pauses music as expected, but upon playing, still no internal speaker sound or control. Blowing air into the docking port again, after sound has stopped, will cause the play button to display a paused button. Pushing play will produce sound from the internal speakers, for a while. I strongly suspect this is has to do with thermal expansion screwing up a connection or chip near the docking port. Several of the fixes I have seen people do with brushing/cleaning the ports and such may have really just inadvertently "fixed" a poor/broken connection, not a dirty connection. Oddly enough, no amount of shaking, tapping the phone or wiggling a docking plug in the connector seems to fix, or break the sound problem. Upon completion of this summary, and several iterations of the sound coming back on with blown air, I discovered, while picking up the phone, and covering the right speaker, the sound dropped greatly. The left speaker has little to no sound coming out of it, Mono and the left/right settings has no effect on either speaker. Ring Tones and Seri both have no sound coming out of the left speaker both when music sound works as when it does not. Both channels work fine through headphones. Cooling the phone with an air conditioning duct, as well as leaving it in a cold environment (fridge) brings back the right speaker.At this point I think a replacement is necessary. If you are experiencing this problem, see if temperature has an effect on the symptoms. Have you found that your "intermitted" problems line up with hot or cool environments the phone is exposed to?

Thats really weird, from what I have read your not the only one to suffer from this glitch. Repeated (10+) times of in and out rapidly fixed others.  I wonder if there is anything you can do to trick it...

After unlocking officially my iphone 3GS OS 4.3 applications cannot be started

Hello In order to change my provider, i asked to Bouygues France, to unlock my phone (not jailbreak).I respected the process and obtained the apple right message in Itunes, it was correctly unlocked. I tested another SIM card, it was ok.All was ok since my iphone powered down.Then, i cannot launch the downloaded applications, i can only  launch the integrated ones. I tried some tricks like :- reset iphone- uninstall/reinstall app- app update- authorize pc on itunes My last backup is very old. Should i restore it? If I restore, will the phone go back to the "locked" state?Any other trick ? Someone encountered the same issue? I'm very disappointed with this issue, i thought that unlocking an iphone was really without risk!! Thanks for your help BR bp

Hello I am an iPhone 4 User and I Live in Pakistan and i am Having iPhone 4 Home Button issue so i cann't mail it to APPLE for repair and i dont want to take risk by open it up myself so i was on internet when i find Alcohol trick to repair the Home Button.I Dont Drink so i Use my Perfume and then i sprayed it on my Finger and Rub it on my iPhone 4 Home Button in circullar motion and when i turn on my iPhone then ALAS!!! my iPhone Home Button works Perfect !!! if Alcohol trick didn't work for you do it 1 more time

5.1 update foreseen soon to help iPhone 4

After upgrade on 5.1 on Iphone can't get internet nor mail.All reset, restore, etc contact with provider done....still nothing,any other trick to try? Any idea if 5.1 will be upgraded soon? Thanks

No longer possible to hide Newsstand in iOS 5.1 iPhone 4S

I tried to do the folder trick to hide Newsstand, which worked under 5.0 and 5.01.  Does it no longer work, now that a single app can reside within a folder by itself?

iPhone 4s call end hang not detecting carrier

So this problem has become progressively worse to the point where my iPhone is not working in its main purpose: AS A PHONE I had a problem a month back where my phone which was working fine 10minutes beforehand stated that the sim failed. After a restart, sim fail again, same after a reset.  I took this to the provider that sold me my sim and to my surprise they removed the sim rubbed it with an eraser and then it worked again??? I dont know if this is related to the current problem.  The main issue is that I cannot make or receive calls.  Hitting dial works but then there is no sound, the people i call dont receive anything other than a missed call and when i try to hang up, the end screen hangs after the red button goes grey.  If you hit the home button or the power button to lock at this point you can get back to the home screen no problem.  Hitting the phone again brings up the same call with the end button now back to red.  Hitting again causes this to hang again.  The only way avoid this is to hit home, then double tap home and kill the phone app. I am in an area where reception is a little sketchy.  Prior to this issue occuring, there would be 2/3 bars of reception and when signal dropped out hitting airplane mode  on and off lead to the phone searching again for the signal, this took time but it would come back up at one or two.  Currently, the phone will show reception of 2/3 bars constantly.  This is unusual, as there was always times when the signal dropped out.  When hitting airplane mode on and off to check this the signal immediately comes back to 2/3 bars and does not search at all.  I believe the carrier signal indicator is hanging and this may be related. Another issue i have noted is when starting to make the call, i put the phone to my ear to see if its ringing and siri pops up?  Siri should most definitely come up at this point as it is not set to voice commands (and i havent spoken anyway) and i do not touch the home button.  Siri only comes on when the phone touches my ear.  So far i have tried: 5.01 update - same issuesToggling airplane mode on and off to get it to search for the carrier again - this occasionally worked until 2 days agoTurning the phone off and on - this occasionally worked until yesterdayResetting the phone (home and off button) - this occasionally worked until 1hr agoDeleting all apps - this did nothingTurning off wifi - also nothingTurning of location services - nothingTurning off siri- nothing (although it stops popping up when touching to ear)Removing the sim - this worked last week, today no luck (i even tried the eraser trick)Turning off siri I have read a much as I can on this issue (and it seems to be everywhere) and havent seen a peep from Apple regarding a fix (yes, i will restore tonight to confirm but nobody said this worked either).  If this is such a widespread issue why doesnt Apple have a better troubleshoot than what i did above (yes, i know i need to try the restore, but again every question i read said this didnt work). My problem compounds, I am working in Singapore and my phone was purchased in Australia (unlocked from Apple).  Getting to an Aussie retailer is not as easy as going down to the shops for me.  My question is this, is this a hardware issue?  I need a phone for work and decided to upgrade from my 3G (yes dinosaur) as soon as the 4S came out.  I must have this sorted by tonight and am very worried that my expensive new phone is junked (ok yes my sudoku app would still work if i didnt delete it) I tried to do this through the express lane but the only options are via a phone call.  I cannot receive calls, I cannot make calls, apple how can you make these the only options when this was the topic i selected. I just want my phone to work.  Can anyone help please? Kind regards, Exasperated long time apple user and supporter (since mac SE)

IPhone 4s stuck in headphone mode

I purchased the 4s two days ago, and have had it stuck in headphone mode twice in two days. I have tried the headphone trick with two different types of headphone, and it does not fix the issue. Resetting the phone fixes it. The phone has not been subjected to excessive moisture, and I have not used headphones with the phone.I realize a number of people have experienced this issue, but my concern is that this is a hardware issue, and I was wondering how Apple were resolving this issue.Resetting an apple device twice in two days is not acceptable.

4S Hangs When Making Outgoing Calls

Hi everyone Not sure if this is a common phenomenon but i've had my 4S for just over a month, and i've had several episodes where i try to make an outgoing call, but the phone just freezes (am also unable to [end call] so i need to turn off the phone). On turning the phone on again i still have the same problem, but a settings reset (whilst mantaining my data) does the trick to revive the phone... any idea wat's wrong here or is it common??? Thanks.Lynn

Heads up Siri Engineers Please fix sound quality of Siri over Bluetooth iPhone 4S

I've used Siri on multiple Bluetooth devices (Ford Edge, Belkin AirCast, LG Bluetooth Headphones) and every time Siri talks back she sounds very distorted, loud, and mono. I can play music in crystal clear quality and I'm assuming that's because the music part uses the A2DP Bluetooth profile but when you use Siri I think the phone switches to a different profile that isn't stereo audio. Does anyone know if Stereo audio and a microphone input is possible via Bluetooth? Just seems like a design flaw that Apple would make Siri so awesome as it via wired mic and internal mic but that with Bluetooth it is near unbearable. I found that with the AirCast I was able to trick Siri into talking into high quality when she was reading text back to me, I made a YouTube video to show that: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mx9earyp_w4 (You can skip to 45 seconds to see exactly what I'm talking about) Now that I've tried Siri on several different devices with the same result I know that it's Siri that is the issue. So are any Apple Engineers looking at these forums or some Apple employee that can send this along to the Siri Engineers to get us some good quality audio via Bluetooth while using Siri?

can't sync apps or music iphone 4S ios 5

I can't sync apps or music to my 4S.  I had upgraded my 4 to ios5, made a good backup, and tried to restore backup to the 4S.  It says it is syncing (for an hour), but there are no apps on the phone other than built-in apps, and no music or audio content of any kind.  Videos sync, as do contacts and notes. I have tried the following:Multiple syncsdelete itunes plistdelete and reinstall itunesrepair permissions (Power mac dual g5 2.0Ghz, 10.5.8, all software updated)restore iphone 4S from scratch 3 timestried the "dual restore" trick at least 6 timesBought apps on phone and on computer (this has worked in past for certain itunes errors)deauthorize and reauthorize computer for store Here's where it gets weird - if I click the "apps" tab then 14GB of apps show up on the summary as loaded on the phone, but they're not.  If I download a previously owned app, the data for the app is already on the iphone (1password pro, angry birds, etc.).  I still can't sync so re-downloading all of the apps is not going to work for me. I am at my wit's end - Genius Bar was unable to assist.  Any tips are appreciated.   Thanks!

Why my NEW iPhone 4S have INSANELY crappy battery life

Just got it for Christmas and I understand that there have been many reports of this and i have tried to do every trick in the book to maximize the battery life. Are there any other tricks that are not as "popular" as others? Also, is Apple trying to fix this??? B/c getting a Day 1/2 of battery life isnt cool. (I am also running iOS 5.0.1 on Verizon)

home button not respond after IOS 5IOS 5.1 update. iPhone 4

Iphone 4G 16GB: after updating IOS 4  to IOS 5, later on IOS 5.1, the home button is inresponsive. Recalibrating the button, using the most mentioned way (switching off till slider visible/ followed by lightly pressing home button for approx 7 secs) does the trick, however in no time the calibration of home button is again way out and thus resulting in a blocked phone. Completely reinstalling ios5.1 had no positive effect at all. An subsequent install of  IOS 5.1 without any additional app's gave same negative results. To be clear, upto the IOS 5 update the phone operated perfectly.  As my partner's iphone 4 reacted exactly the same way (updated by our common Apple ID) I still strongly suspect a software-problem.But for now I'm out. Anyone knows a solution except for buying two brand new none-Apple replacement phones?  Vodafone-Holland offered to send the phone to their technicians. They indicated we would have to leave the phones for a minimum of 4 weeks at their place.Upto whatever longer time it could take. And ofcourse no replacement phones available.  So far for their service-level.  Strongly thinking of switching to another brand of phones and provider.
