New Iphone 5. Wi-fi and bluetooth are not working. Nobody can help me in Russia

 Hello! I live in Russia and love Apple very much, have many different products and never had any problems with them. And now I decided to buy a new Iphone 5 and wasn't lucky. I bought it on 3.05.2013 in normal shop, then turned out that wi-fi and bluetooth are not working and the phone eats battery very fast. Shop doesn't want take it back, official services don't want to repair it for free, because it was made for USA. I really don't know what to do:( To buy android? Dropped iPhone 4 in to toilet but hear me out

I dropped my phone into the toilet. I got it out as quickly as possible, but it did get submerged. When I got it out, the screen turned on by itself, but I didn't think much of it, and I stuck it in rice for a few hours. When I went to check on it, it seemed fine, as the screen turned on and all the buttons seemed to be working, other than being slightly laggy. The volume buttons worked, but the didn't seem to do anything to the volume. The speakers worked as well, and even the vibrating part did. the lagging didn't get any better though, so I decided to see if reseting it would work. It turned off fine, and the apple symbol came up, but that was where it stopped, and it now will not turn on. I checked the LCI in the headphone jack and the charging slot, and the one in the headphone jack has a tiny pinkish-red dot, and the one in the charging slot doesn't look red at all. I stuck it back into the rice just in case. Can anybody help with my situation?Just some info, up until I put my phone into the rice the first time, I was mostly in full panic mode, and even after I put it in the rice, I kept checking to see if it worked by pressing the sleep button. I'm pretty sure I did everything I'm not supposed to do, but what can I say?

Water Damage iPhone 4S

On May 18, 2013: Yesterday my cousin and I tipped our canoe while on a river. We had our electronics in a ziploc bag which included my iPhone 4S. We managed to save almost everything including the ziploc bag. We were stuck floating down the fast moving rapids for atleast 30 minutes keeping firm grip on everything. Once our fellow canoe group caught up with us we put everything in their canoe and made a pit stop. There we put the electronics out to dry (only a little bit of water got it). I managed to send one quick text out and tried hard to shut off the phone but it kept rebooting. When we got back to my grandma's house I investigated the iPhone. It was on and working BUT the flash was stuck on and the power button didn't always work, water behind the lower part of the screen  I tried hard to turn it off but it just kept rebooting. With no rice I just layed it out in the sun for an hour.  About 2 hours later we rushed to the mall and went to the Apple Store. They checked the status of the warranty and it just expired 5 days ago. Ugh.. So they just told us there was little they can do and they will replace it for $200.00. At this point I didn't want to give up. At the Apple Store the iPhone was having such a melt down. The Apple employee struggled to keep it on as it kept turning itself off (power button issue). Everything else was functional besides the back camera full of water vapour and LED light. About 3 hours after that I got home I put the phone in rice. I noticed the phone some how got into recovery mode.  Over night and about 24 hours later I took the phone out of the rice plugged into iTunes on my iMac. It was just on recovery mode asking me to recover it on iTunes. It wouldn't work because it kept going into UNKNOWN ERROR 2001 and UNKNOWN ERROR 2006. I read somewhere a fix can be putting it from recovery mode into DFU mode. But remember the power button isn't still working so it is impossible to go into that mode. I think I got it once but still had the same errors. I am not ready to give up. I know there is no such thing as minor water damage but it really does seem minor because everything was functional just the phone put itself into recovery mode with a messed up power button.  I'm asking what I should do now. I really don't want to spend $200 for another iPhone 4S when the next generation iPhone will come at what ever time. It seems pointless getting an old phone than a new one. I bought an iPhone 4 locked to Orange UK why can't it be unlocked

I contacted Orange UK and they said that this iPhone4 is ready to be unlocked, but they can't unlock the phone  because I am not the original contract owner. Why can't Apple unlock this phone, because the original owner doesn't care and has sold it? As far as I understand, I am one of at least 3 owners for this phone. I guess there could be more. I just wanted to have a normal iPhone, why can't Apple help on this issue?  I have previously had many apple products, this is the first one I bought used adn just wanted to restore it to normal. Another thing is that 3rd party services can unlock it for 200$. what is that they do to unlock it? Why can't apple make a small comission for unlcoking iPhones instead. My iphone 4s wonn't accept charge

My iphone 4s wonnt accept charge and its at 0%, my warranty expired and I am wondering if changing the battery would fix it? I have tried restarting it and all that.  (If its not the battery what part is it?) When I try to charge it, it says its charging, and I cannt get past that.

iPhone 5 seizing randomly-unable to be used

I am not the most technically inclined, so please bear with me.  About two months ago, lines began showing up in Safari every now and again. They would go away, so I didn't think too much of it. Then one night, while in a game app, the screen began "flashing" like a strobelight. It couldn't exit the app fully, was blinking half the screen in the app, part of the home screen, etc. You cannot see throught the commotion to use the phone, if the programs can even open. This happened all evening, through the night, and the entire following day. Then it stopped.  It was fine when I took it to the AT&T store (the closest Apple store is 45 minutes away, so I wanted to be sure AT&T couldn't do anything for me) but by opening and closing programs and apps, I was able to force it to act up. Of course when I left the store, it worked fine again.  It was fine for a few days, acting up only a time or two, but I drove 45 minutes to the Apple store. My Genius Bar member told me it was software based and that I should restore the phone, download the software again, and manually add my media back on. After the four+ hours of downloading and 2+ hours of adding media, it was fine again. That was about two weeks ago. Now it's back.  I looked into the diagnostics (what I can see through the noise on the screen) and I have many different errors going on. Googling these errors codes is not providing much information, and again, I am not the best with this stuff.  SO:-Is a latestcrash.plist or mediaserverd.plist the same as a panic.plist code? In turn, if they are, will Apple replace the phone as they supposedly do in the case of panic.plist crashes? -I've noticed a bunch of the issues seem related to audio and video functions on the phone. I have AudioToolbox, CoreFoundation, and CoreQuartz codes, for example. Are these things that would justify a replacement? I am sitting through another 4 hour software download right now in order to restore the phone again, but am afraid to lose that diagnostics info, but also cannot see the screen to send any diagnostics info to Apple. Is this something that is software based? Does that mean I am going to be doing this every few weeks? The phone is only 6 months old, but I don't want to let it go and loet the one year manufacturer's warranty.  I apologize for being so verbose but I really cannot find anything online that sounds similar to what my phone is doing. Any guidance would be much appreciated.

Hi there, Im scott, I dont own an iphone so know nothing whatsoever about them. this is our issue pls help :   My sister purchased an iphone 4 from a woman at her work. Her husband upgraded to iphone 5 so sold his old one to my sister. My sister currently has a blackberry on contract to virgin media here in England. She took her BB along with her new iphhone to a local phone shop They cut her simcard down to size and put it into the iphone. When we turned it on we got this message 'only compatible sim cards from a support carrier....... '  I called our current contract to exdplain what we were intending to do and swap settings from a blackberry to her new iphone... they said we needed to contact the original service provider... here lies our issue.  My sister works as a nurse.. she called her collgue to explain all this and ask what network he was on. She doesnot kno and her husband isnt home for another cpl weeks he is military. My sister doesnt want to wait a few weeks to use her new phone. Is there anyway to unlock and activate this phone giving all the detials of the phone and confirmation from his wife regarding the new user ?  Ive read on the internet about jailbraking and all that nonsense.. but i dont want to damage the phone.. It isnt stolen isnt lost sureley i dont have to 'hack' into a perfectly legitimate phone to use do i?   My sister simply wants it to work with her contracted sim .. with the benifits and features iphone offers. IPhone 4 gets very hot

Hello everyone. I have an IPhone 4 16gb with iOS 6.1.3, so yesterday i was using it normally, put it back in my pocket with 36% battery. After 1 hour or so i pick it up again and I had a nasty surprise the phone was very hot and battery drained down to 15%, i didn't have 3G, wifi, bluetooth, locations or other stuff or apps running, the phone was in standby. I get home and try to do a restore and i got another surprise, while it was connected to the PC instead of recharging it the battery went down and the phone shut off. Managed to restore it eventually, it stopped heating in standby but whenever i am at the menu doing nothing again with no apps or other stuff turned on it starts to get hot in the upper right part, people say it's the CPU..i don't know what to think anymore, last time it did this a restore solved it but not this time..any ideas?

spyware is very easily accessible and requires nothing from the Apple store, and although I realize some of these posts are several years old-at this point, it is simply misinformation.  All one needs is a similar program to the one in the link above and not only can your sms messages be accessed, your calls be intercepted and recorded, but the camera in your phone can be remotely accessed and activated at any given time without your knowledge.  As you tap away on your handy little iPhone you love so much, in whatever possibly "compromising" or embarrassing position you may be in at the time, a creeper can be looking you straight in your face or observing your enviornement at their leisure.  Imagine the horror in finding out that you were sitting there on the toilet gaming and someone was watching you the whole time or better yet, while you were involved in an intimate interaction while your phone sat charging on a dock on the nightstand next to the bed?  How about knowing that every incoming and outgoing communication is recorded and documented for the creep to scroll and read through like a book?    This is some scary stuff, and it's been used on me via an encrypted picture message.  I've done a full restore of my iPhone and the pc used for backing up via iTunes to ensure that the spyware wasn't then rooted into the pc or the iTunes, and was even told to create an etirely new Apple ID, but aside from this and there being no true scanning software for malware, spyware or viruses for the iPhone-how can I be sure that this encrypted software has truly been eradicated?  Is there an antiviral program that I am unware of?  I'm not looking for a secure AVG browser, I'm looking for a detect and destroy scanner program. <Link Edited by Host>

My Iphone kept rebooting and I decided to restore it. So while in the "Restoring Iphone Software" part the bar just stops loading (I waited for an hour but it was still in the same place) I tried it on other computers still stopped in the same place. Any solutions?

How I get rid of other section of my Iphone make up

I have an Iphone 4 8gb and it seems that everytime I try to download an app/song or try to take a photo/video it is constantly telling me there's no more space left on my Iphone. The content of my iphone is: 1.40 GB's of music, 761.1 MB of photos, 779.6 MB of apps, and 3.39 GB's of other. I don't know how to get rid of the "other" part that takes up half my storage. If anyone has some helpful ways to get rid of the other storage without losing all my data (pics, music, apps, messages, etc) let me know!

Why my iPhone 5 camera have dark shadow-type spot on one constant part of screen

There is a shadow type spot in one part of the camera app, that stays on a certain part of the screen when the camera is moved (normal HD camera on back). It then appears in photos. what can I do to fix this? Is a Genius Bar trip the only answer? Thanks!

I had never faced any need for warranty repairs or any such thing previously.  My luck with the Iphone 5 was not the same. Just 5 Months and my Sleep/Wake button just refuses to work. But the Horror was when i reached the Zain Telecom store in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. I was told by them that Apple has refused to take Any Iphone exibiting Scuffing or Scratches as this renders the iphone out of warranty. It just Dosnt make any Sense when Senior Apple SVP for Marketting Phill Schiller Him self on 25 Septeber 2012 in an email to an apple user have acknowledged that this kind of scuffing is natural to any aluminium product. I would like some one from Apple to Respond to this issue of mine and give me a solution. The worst part is there no authorised service in the country. Toolbar missing first part iPhone 5

My iPhone toolbar is missing the part with the carrier, signal strength, and wifi signal. what do I do?Btw i've never jailbroken it. iPhone 5, latest os (6.1.3 i think)

Transfer photos back and forth to OS X WITHOUT iPhoto or iTunes iPhone 3G

I googled to no end, searched Apple support forums endlessly and you know what? Not a single simple answer can seem to be given without being redirected to something that simply does not answer THIS very specific question. Is it, or is it not possible to quickly transfer photos DIRECTLY *FROM* and *INTO* the Camera Roll WITHOUT iTunes or iPhoto? Simple question yes? lol. NOPE. Reason why I ask can be simply described in short: iTunes 11.0.2, running iPhone iOS 6.1; Clicking "Photos" from my iPhone via iTunes, gives me ONE single option; "Sync photos from". Tried keeping it real simple. Make a folder on the desktop called iPhone Photos just for quickly transfering photos back and forth and chose to synch from that. 18 photos to test. Just crap from the internet. Nothing major. Know what it does? For one, it takes 3 minutes or so to sync 18 whole photos, which is stupid but whatever. But here's the BEST part, none get sent to my Camera Roll, oh no, it makes TWO entirely new folders under it in my iPhone. One being the one I made on my desktop, and the other is called Photo Library, and get this, BOTH of these have the same 18 pictures lmao. Yup. Why? Oh who cares at this point. I really just do not care. Apple. All that needs to be said. And as for iPhoto. It's just an unnecessary useless program I have no intentions of ever needing. Why? I keep a crap load of various types of photos in organized folders in my Finder, and iPhoto likes making sure it takes 3x longer to do that. It really just does.  Now back on point. what happened to the good old friggin days when all you had to do was DRAG AND DROP?!?!?! I legitimately am getting cancer from pondering this question.  Is there not a way to simply drag from Camera Roll somehow to the iMac, like say a specified folder. And Vice Versa from the iMac straight to Camera Roll? A nice workaround to get FROM Camera Roll TO iMac specified folder is "Image Capture" which does exactly just THAT. Quickly and painlessly transfer STRAIGHT FROM AND TO wherever. This is ridiculous. At this point, I'd pay 50 bucks for a simple app to quickly drag and drop from and to Camera Roll and bam. Done.  Sorry for the book, but this is getting ******** trying to get an answer to this and thought I would deem it necessary to be as descriptive as humanly possible.  Looking for simple answers if possible, but at least descriptive. spyware ON MY IPHONE 4S

HI everyone (I'm not an english people so i hope you will understand that i write). Today, i download a free app but in reality it's a spyware and my iphone is not the same since i download this app.I Reset many times my iphone (it's an iphone 4S) with itunes without conservation but i think it did not work. More precise, it's not a jailbreak iphone so people told me download CYLAY but only if it's a jailbreak iphone and it's not, what it possible to do to delete everything and be sure it's ok. The app download call Avast! secure line VPN but it's not really avast it's a spyware and many people download it and have problems next. Thansk for your help and i hope you understand me.

had my iphone 5 replaced yesterday due to screen going blank like its switched off you then hit the front and power buttons on and off till the screen lights up again in photo mode my NEW replacement has same problem so another 30 min drive and waiting to get another bodgy replacement worst part you cant even complain so looks like fair trading and i dont think apple is aware of the new warranty law in australia but once you get something replaced on warranty your warranty period is to re start

I can t connect to my wifi iPhone 3G

I'm on my iPhone 4S and I can't connect to ANY app that uses wifi, including the iTunes store. I keep getting notifications that I need to check my Internet connection (I have it on my phone) and that my phone wasn't sure if itunes.apple.com was really iTunes' web address (oh come on!) It's storming here where I am in Tennessee now, and I figured that might be part of the problem. But is it?  I've reset the network settings, and it still says it. what could the problem be? I've even tried turning off the wifi and using 4G and nothing happened.

I have an I Phone 5 with fully updated software. The 'other' portion in my storage capabitlities is at 5.60GB. I do not have many apps and no music. Does anyone know how I can delete this part of the storage or at least explain what it is?

HELP Problem with iPhone 4 screen color Discoloration and Image Persistence

Hi guys! I had this problem about 3 months ago. I started having this when I took a screen shot of a game then suddenly after the flash, the colors changed.Yesterday it came back to normal for the first time but after several minutes, it went back to the distorted colos mode.  Here are some pictures of the actual screen condition. You can see the problem here. The icons have a bit of a dark shade in their middle parts, but when I touch and select an icon, it shows their normal colors.*Look at the VIDEO ICON, PHOTO ICON and PHONE ICON.As you can see in this image, it's like on a thermal camera mode. LOL! it also has a large amount of image persistence in it.  In this image, you can see that the lower part of the screen is missing (blackened) and has some image persistence too. You can also see the difference in color of the messages tab.Image color is different and has image persistence too. The colors are different and the screens bottom part is darkened.  One thing I noticed here is that when the accesive touch button menu is active, the icons behind it get their normal colors back.*take a look a the APP STORE ICON, MAIL ICON, SAFARI ICON, CONTACTS ICON and PASSBOOK ICON    Any help guys? Is there any software that can fix this or any method you know? If there's anyone who have the same problem and has encountered the same problem, kindly reply and post some solutions.Thanks in advanced for those who will read this post and give me some answers!

Can my iPhone 5 be hacked through free app downloaded from App store

I updated my phone to iOS 6.1.3 today. This evening (two hours ago) I downloaded a free app called "Caption Pics" by Viral Media Entertainment. About 15 minutes ago, something weird happened. I had 6 apps that the App Store wanted to update. I went to update them. The App Store asked for my Apple ID. Seemed odd to have to submit for an update, but I did. Got a message saying it was an incorrect password. So I entered it again. Same error. I enter it a 3rd time before I realize that it's asking me to enter an Apple ID for an ID that isn't even mine! It was completely different, even the domain name. I immediately deleted the two apps I downloaded today and restarted my iPhone. I also immediately reset Apple ID password from my computer. I saved my photos without syncing.  I'm doing a factory reset/restore right now. I'm a bit weirded out...  I realize it could be a fluke. Servers sometimes get bits of information mixed up. Someone else could be cursing right now because they think someone tried to hack them and got them locked out of the App Store. But still. This is weird. Any insight? Anything else I can do to protect myself?

Iphone 4 display screen broken, phone one year warranty is over, Phone purchased in Dubai , and inuse in Goa,India.  Can i get it replaced in Goa or Mumbai India. Cannot get pass Backing Up Iphone part when updating from 4.2.10 Help

Hello! I have an iphone 4 that needed it's software to be updated to the latest version. I've downloaded the latest iTunes to my computer and connected my iPhone to it. A pop-up prompt let's me know that there is a newer software version available to which I click "Update." After downloading the software, the prompts are letting me know that it's "Backing Up Iphone." That is as far as I can get when trying to update. Usually the "status bar" will be slowly moving (letting you know the progress thus far) but in this case it doesn't. All it says is "Backing Up iPhone," and that's as far as it goes.  My phone hasn't been updated and I am stuck at square 1.  I am not able to download certain apps because I need a the latest firmware. If I restore my phone, then try updating will it work? I'm afraid to do that simply because if I rid my apps will I be able to download them again? I don't understand why the phone cannot get passed the "Backing Up" part.  Please help.

Problem with camera-focus stuck on bottom iPhone 4S

HelloSince last week my camera can't focus correctly for some reason. It's always stuck on the bottom part (and on the side in landscape mode).When I tap other parts of the screen it seems to adjust but just goes back to focusing the bottom. I tried a long tap that stops the autofocus-doesn't work.Running iOS 6.1 on 4S.Any suggestions for a solution?  Thank you!

how can I tell if I successfully unlocked my iPhone

I got permission from AT&T to unlock my iphone and have followed the instructions. There was one part where I was unclear about the instructions and that was if I needed to do an erase with my old SIM card in place or just do a complete restore with the new SIM card. Anyway, I already had a new SIM card in place so just used that one. But I can't find anywhere where it says if I did the unlock successfully. Any help would be most appreciated.

White bars on top of display iPhone 5

I had my 4s in a bumper and like many other have the rubbing affect and think apple should fix it for free but that's beside the point anyone know if apple will or not I can buy the replacement part for $39 only issue is its a DIY and rather not break my phone even though I have fixed many phones in the past rather not risk my only phone usually I buy broken phone and see If I can fix them and resell them but not going to play chicken with 4s.

Description:Some of my friends, that are already in mine contact list, in FB have different names.So after synchronization of contacts with FB I got two contact entries for one person. Ok. I linked them together to get one united contact.And then choose to use for this united contact name from contact which was in my contact list before sync.And that's all ok until next synchronization of contacts with FB, wich forces contact list to use name of "FB part" of united contact,instead of choosen by me name of "phone contact list part". So we see, that synchronization with FB dosn't looks at user setting which name to use.Any suggestions?p.s. ok, I understand, that I can turn off the sync, but it seems to me, that correcting of the error would be better....

How can I recover my iPhone 4 without restoring It went into recover mode while I was updating it.

I think part of the problem is my memory space had been exceeded. I own a 8 gb, but it had about 8.2 according to itunes. I was going to delete some pictures and videos after updating, but it never came back. hi, everyone, I'm from China. I'm using an iphone 4s 16G black with a Trexta shell. I bought it in the Sanlitun Apple store, Beijing. Last night I wanted to change another shell. After I took off the Trexta shell, I found there was a sunken part which felt smooth by fingers on the back cover(the adge is not sunken). I've never dropped my iphone on the floor and there is no collision track you could see in the first picture. I thought it's like this when I bought it.  so I posted these on the biggest apple communities of China, but no one had seen this kind of problem before. Someone thought it's a plastic forming problem. In my opinion, the Apple products represent the best and perfect. If it's really a plastic forming problem, I can't believe it would happen on the iphone. someone said "go to the Apple store and change a new one", but Apple customer service said, after 14 days, Appearance problems is not in the warranty scope. someone suggested me to keep it as a souvenir, cause it's a small probability event.someone joked that I can put my iphone on Ebay, it's an Apple with a bite, maybe someone want to buy it. Have anyone seen the same problem before?  I hope you can understand what i'm saying, and forgive my poor English. I just got a text message (not iMessage..) from a number 561-900-66--, with the message "Omg Cathy (my first name).." followed by a mysterious bit.ly/xxxx URL. I clicked on the link (thinking it's somoene I know since the person got my first name), it automatically re-directed a few times on my iPhone's Safari browser.. ie. sort of like how spam/viruses go when you click on them on a real computer. I shut down the Safari app quickly but not sure how much of the page already loaded. Does anyone know anything about this spam/virus? And, is it possible to hack my iPhone? How do I further protect myself? Please help!! For your reference: I have an iPhone 5. It has not been jail broken nor have I tried to do anything shady to it. I'm fairly sure I have most of the latest OS updates.

After fell in water iPhone 4S

After fell in water of a pool (chlorine water) my Iphone 4S remained working for 4 hours aprox.,even tried to dry it with a hair dryer.Today its working but some loudspeaker functions are not working,i.e. cannot get sound from Youtube videos,only earphones working,cannot get sound from some messages.Sound from incoming calls is working good.Aditionally ,because the earphone plug could not be inserted well after a while(some obstruction inside de jack) ,I ve tried to spray with a contact cleaner solution and this solution damaged a part of the display.:-(what do you reccomend to do first?Thanks

iPhone 5 replacement

On February 11th I purchased the black/slate iPhone 5 from an APPLE Authorized Reseller (iStore Tunisia) at full retail price. It's been three weeks now. Yesterday after removing the case for the first time ever(i didn't use it without a case) I noticed some scuffs and dents on the lower part, they are really ugly! So I called iStore, they advised me to go the nearest iStore. So after 1 hour of waiting in line they told that they need to contact Apple first before replacing my iPhone because they cannot do anything without contacting Apple. They told me that me they will call me after two days. what if Apple denies the replacement? Can I get a full refund since I am still within 30 days of its purchase? I am really not satisfied this iPhone 5:( sorry for my English.

iOS home screen problem iPhone 5

Has anyone had problems with the home screen on the iPhone enlarging so that only a part of it is shown?  The " slide to unlock" bar can't be used then and there is no way to resize the display so the whole screen is visible. And the only way to use the phone again is to reboot by hard reboot as the slider bar to turn off can't be used too.
