Official unlocking of iphone 4 from orange Apple approved

Having Paid about £20 for an official unlocking, I am being told to insert a Non-Orange 3G Sim card into the phone that is to be unlocked (Orange is the network the iphone iscurrently locked to).  Well I don't have a Non-Orange 3G Sim Card do I !! I found an app that provides a call confirmation without jailbreaking the phone called "Group Contact." in settings, if you turn 'return to the app after phone call" on, you get the message "you will be alerted before making the call, and the app will be re-opened after the call." Before every call, a call confirmation is delivered, which solves my problem perfectly!

Sms new compose sms already have text in it iphone 5

iphone 5 / factory unlocked / USA purchase..  Whenever i compose a new message (SMS), i already have a text (one of the previous sms that i hv sent to someone) there in the message box. I have tried resending the same to myself and other numbers and it gets delivered aswell. But what is annoying is everytime i have to compose a new message and click on icon on top right corner in message app to create a new sms// i have the text alrdy in my typing box and have to select all and delete it.  And when i click on any previous conversations with my contacts and reply them this problem does not exist. This is only when i click new message compose icon or have to start a new conversation with someone. To me it seems as if some kinda signature is added in SMS but i couldnt find any option for the same. Please advice !!

My built in apps have disappeared how can person reinstall Safari Siri or App Store on an iphone 4S

I have lost my built in apps and do not know how to reinstall them on my phone.  The Safari and App Store icons are gone.  I can no longer surf the net on my phone and the little "microphone" key has also disappeared when I send text messages etc.  I now have to actually type the message instead of speaking into my phone.  Siri has also vanished.  Any advice?

'search' has broken 6.1.4 iphone 5

Has anyone noticed that since the last couple of updates (6.1.3 and 6.1.4) the search feature on the iphone doesn't work. You can search ok but when you press what you're looking for is puts you at the end of the message without going to the area you need. Apple please fix it. Sooo annoying.

Why it it that when I query a word or two in spotlight, I can see the text message that I am looking for but when I tap it, I am not taken to that message. This renders the search useless.

This is my issue. I have been using the messages app and spotlight to search keywords and/or phrases in old text messages.  Scenario: Using the search bar in the messages app, I lookup Mac. It returns 2 results. I click the message I want to view and it opens the most recent message in thread. So I tried using Spotlight. Granted, it returns more results (about 6,7), but when I click the message to finish reading it, again, it opens the most recent message in the thread. Is there an app that actually searches messages and lets you view the message?

hey! i upgraded to an iphone 5 in october 2012. ive always had the iphones and never had a problem with them before. however, this phone has decided it no longer wants to charge, at first i thought it was the usb so i brought a new one for it. but it didnt charge it either. i have tried using different sockets ive even used my dockinstation but nothing works. the phone is all up to date and shows a message stating 'this accessory is not meant for charging' , anyone else having the same problem?

My iphone wont turn on after updating

My iphone 4G was updating to the latest i.OS software on itunes (on my windows computer). As usual, my phone had to restart. It turned off, but as it was turning on (when the screen just shows that silver apple logo) an error message came up on itunes saying that it couldnt update the software (I forgot to get the error number). But my phone is stuck with that silver apple logo on it. My computer tells me to restore my phone, which I tried, but everytime I do that, itunes says "extracting software" and then it says "preparing to restore" then it comes up with an error message (number 2009). I have tried restarting my computer. My phone is stuck like this. What should I do? Please help!

iphone 5 audio fail

Does anyone have audio fail problem on their iphone 5 (iOS 6.1.4)? This happeded twice on my iphone. First time was when I was using my phone as usual and it just suddently truned into mute by itself. The other one was when the alarm was ringing but no sound just vibration. I'm sure that I did not turn into silent mode. Except the sound, it still functions well. System just poped up a message asking me to reboot my device. It recovered after restart, but I still want to know how to deal with this problem.

Lost Mode Alarm continues-I found my iphone 5

Hi.  Last Saturday morning I lost my phone and immediately went onto iCloud and entered the phone into Lost Mode, sent the message and Played Sound.  Spent all that day reporting the loss to the police, insurance and Vodafone and generally panicking.  Went to bed that night, put hand under pillow and guess what, found my darling phone!!!  What a relief!!  Cancelled Lost Mode on iCloud and restored passwords, Vodafone etc.  HOWEVER, at various times (and obviously I never get any warning), the lost alarm still sounds and in public, people must think I have stolen my own phone!!!  I have tried different ways to stop the alarm happening again eg setting Lost Mode over again and then cancelling it again but the alarm still goes off.  All I have to do is press the on/off button to stop it sounding but the fact that it goes off in the first place is the problem.  It should be cancelled!   Why does the alarm still go off?  Can anyone help please? Many thanks Susan

I have been trying to update my iphone's software for the past few weeks due to my current provider not being found. (A bar that says "Searching" is always at the top where my 3G should be.) Yet whenever I try directly from my iphone, it always end with an error message. So, yesterday I tried updating directly from itunes and I let it download the new update and all that. However, after it finished trying to update my iphone, it put my iphone in a recovery mode and I've been trying to fix it eversince. I can not access my iphone, all it has is an icon saying to connect to itunes. I've tried troubleshooting, checking my software, updating my computer etc. yet it still leaves me with this message: "The iphone "iphone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (-1)." I've looked on the apple site and I've made sure my security is up to date, my computer is up to date, my itunes is up to date and that I have restarted my computer. I am very irritated and I don't know what to do. I don't know what to do because my warranty is over with apple and I still have a few years on my contract. Viber Editing text hard to impossible-cursor jumps always to end iphone 3G

Hi all, everytime I want to edit text I'm entering into the message box, I'm not able to do it, since the cursor always jumps to the end of the text.This makes it impossible to mark & copy some or all text, as well as rephrasing or correcting typos. The only 'workaround' I found is to keep the finger on the target position (and having the looking glass active) and then type one character (or delete on). I'm a little bit curious since my friend and me are experiencing that issue for a long time now though I found no reference on the net for it yet (except one to a wordpress app). It happens on a 3GS as well as on a 4, at least all 6.* versions of iOS, with the previous (2.3.1) as well as with the current Viber version (3.0.0).Also experienced on iPad (3rd gen, cellular edition) with 6.1.3 / 3.0.0 Any hints or tipps are very welcome! Thanks in advance &cu,-udo

iphone 5-Backlight turns off when I get text

I have been having an issue with my backlight turning off completely when I receive a text message on my iphone 5. It is very random. It doesn't happen every day, just once in a while. My screen will be completely off, then it will fully light up when I receive a text message, then 1-2 seconds later the backlight will go off completely but the screen will remain on. Even if I hit the home button, the backlight won't come on.  I have to hit the power button to turn the screen off, then hit the power button again to turn the screen back on, then the backlight comes back on. I don't have auto brightness or anything like that turned on. Any ideas what might be causing this or how to fix it?

Hello everyone! I've got a problem with my iphone 4S and I hope someone here can give me a hint on how to fix this... Last year in March I was on vacation in Las Vegas (I live in Austria/Europe) and bought a new unlocked iphone 4S GSM in the Apple Store in the Forum Shops in Las Vegas including AppleCare+ (I just learned that iPhones can only be serviced in the Country where they are bought - my bad). Lately I was browsing through my Apple support profile and noticed that my iphone was not registered there. So I tried to enter the serial number of the device and got this message:We're sorry, but this is a serial number for a product that has been replaced. Please check your information and re-enter your serial number. If your information is correct, you may need to contact us. I knew this could not be true so I called Apple Care here in Austria and first I was told that - according to its serial number - my iphone has been replaced, and that it never should have been sold. I also was told that I have no chance of getting any service for this device despite the Care Protection Plan because the device is invalid due to its status as "replaced". And last but not least I was told that I could never receive any service for this device because American devices cannot be repaired in Europe (I was not aware of this fact and would have expected the salesperson in the Apple Store to tell me because I definitely told him that I am from Austria). Meanwhile I wrote an email to the store where I bought the iphone from but it's two days now and I have not received an answer (or any indication that my email was received) yet. Is there anything I can do? Yours,Michael

Hi there, Im scott, I dont own an iphone so know nothing whatsoever about them. this is our issue pls help :   My sister purchased an iphone 4 from a woman at her work. Her husband upgraded to iphone 5 so sold his old one to my sister. My sister currently has a blackberry on contract to virgin media here in England. She took her BB along with her new iphhone to a local phone shop They cut her simcard down to size and put it into the iphone. When we turned it on we got this message 'only compatible sim cards from a support carrier....... '  I called our current contract to exdplain what we were intending to do and swap settings from a blackberry to her new iphone... they said we needed to contact the original service provider... here lies our issue.  My sister works as a nurse.. she called her collgue to explain all this and ask what network he was on. She doesnot kno and her husband isnt home for another cpl weeks he is military. My sister doesnt want to wait a few weeks to use her new phone. Is there anyway to unlock and activate this phone giving all the detials of the phone and confirmation from his wife regarding the new user ?  Ive read on the internet about jailbraking and all that nonsense.. but i dont want to damage the phone.. It isnt stolen isnt lost sureley i dont have to 'hack' into a perfectly legitimate phone to use do i?   My sister simply wants it to work with her contracted sim .. with the benifits and features iphone offers. iOS 6 Upgrade wiped my phone had to restore to factory settings and lost my all data. iphone 4

I do not so much have a question, but a statement:  I did the upgrade to iOS 6 last night.  I had to delete a lot of apps to make room for the upgrade and did a small icloud back up to save space.  But, after waiting and seeing the upgrade time kept going up and up, I just went to bed.  Woke up in the middle of the Night to check and my phone said to connect to iTunes.  When I did, it told me I had to restore my phone.  So I had no choice because, it would not leave the connect to iTunes message on my screen otherwise.  This is a horrible glitch!

Multiple iphone 4S issues continuing

I am tired of my iphone 4S already after suffering through issues upon issues with the device. My screen is having issues now where at a moment's chance it goes dim. I have to reset the device to get the brightness back to normal. I've tried restoring without any luck of this resolving. Another gripe I have is that I'm continuing to have issues with apps like Mail, Safari, and other Apple installed apps just continuously force closing. I've been sending emails back and forth on my iphone only to have Mail force close and I lose everything in my message. The phone acts sluggish and performs worse than previous 4S devices I've owned. I've had issues upon issues across multiple iphone 4S devices. The device I have currently is my 5th iphone 4S and even tho its less than a few months old after it was sent to me after multiple filler iPhones of refurb models from the store, I continue to experience issues that make me use my iphone less and less as it becomes more unreliable with the crashes and multiple restores. My closest store is not within close distance so that's made owning an iphone with issues difficult as not every thread on the communities forum touch on half the problems I continue to have. Thankfully at least Siri knows where I'm located compared to my other devices where she always thought I was in Pittsburgh where I picked the phone up at my nearest store over an hour and a half away. Now everything just seems to be more of a deficiency with iOS and the hardware than anything. Obviously there must be something wrong with the latest stocks of 4S devices if my issues are continuing. When I restore I'm always setting up as a new device. I'm never downloading or redownloading anything from my Mac or PC. Everything is just redownloading apps from iCloud within the App Store and having a ton of missing photos in my photo stream. I just don't understand what is wrong with my iphone. I never experienced these kind of issues with my iphone 3GS so its hard to swallow how terrible the 4S has performed with every single device I keep getting. I'm at a loss on what I can do. Does anyone have any tips I should try that Apple hasn't provided me with to fix or at least band-aid the issue long enough till I can upgrade with my carrier?

Issues after 6.1.4 update iphone 5

IS anyone else having issues after the 6.1.4 update? Here is what I have experienced in the last two days.  1- Unable to access a locked or secure network.  It asks for password initially.  When entered, it is unable to connect.  I restart and then go to Settings, find the network and click.  I never get a prompt for the password, just "Unable to Connect" 2-Bluetooth.    I can after a few attempts to connect my Bluetooth headphones, only after I get a "Failed attempt" a few times.  Then only music works, unable to make phone calls.  This happens with two different products.  A SENA SMH 10R and LG HBS 700.   3- Music play - I found this issue out when trying to figure out problem with Bluetooth.  I can start to play a song fine, but if I click on the ">>" or "<< "  it freaks the player out and then skips multiple songs or stops play and goes back to the playlist.  At first it was doing this with the Bluetooth headphones when using it to make selections.  So I deleted the devices and the iphone continued to do it when selecting functions on the screen.  Some playlists did it and some don't.  Creating a new playlist did not help.  Additional Info.Apple Store replaced my iphone on Saturday 5.4.13 because if antina issues.  The issues above came after I restored from backup and updated the OS.  I have erased the phone 2 times since getting the new phone and restored from back up and rebuilt from Itunes and neither way makes a difference above. What is going ON?   message was edited by: Karl Kroeker  Corrected Version update

Spyware is very easily accessible and requires nothing from the Apple store, and although I realize some of these posts are several years old-at this point, it is simply misinformation.  All one needs is a similar program to the one in the link above and not only can your sms messages be accessed, your calls be intercepted and recorded, but the camera in your phone can be remotely accessed and activated at any given time without your knowledge.  As you tap away on your handy little iphone you love so much, in whatever possibly "compromising" or embarrassing position you may be in at the time, a creeper can be looking you straight in your face or observing your enviornement at their leisure.  Imagine the horror in finding out that you were sitting there on the toilet gaming and someone was watching you the whole time or better yet, while you were involved in an intimate interaction while your phone sat charging on a dock on the nightstand next to the bed?  How about knowing that every incoming and outgoing communication is recorded and documented for the creep to scroll and read through like a book?    This is some scary stuff, and it's been used on me via an encrypted picture message.  I've done a full restore of my iphone and the pc used for backing up via iTunes to ensure that the spyware wasn't then rooted into the pc or the iTunes, and was even told to create an etirely new Apple ID, but aside from this and there being no true scanning software for malware, spyware or viruses for the iphone-how can I be sure that this encrypted software has truly been eradicated?  Is there an antiviral program that I am unware of?  I'm not looking for a secure AVG browser, I'm looking for a detect and destroy scanner program. <Link Edited by Host>

I had always encountered error -5000 while trying to upgrade the OS via iTune.  I had tried numerous time and it's still the same error message..any help would be very much appreciated.

itune ask to authorize my iphone every time I try to sync iphone 5

Every time that I try to sync my iphone 5 to my computer (pc) itunes tells me that my computer is not authorized and as soon as I enter my info. (sign in) a message comes on ant says that my computer has been allready authorized before.

phone in recovery mode but cannot restore with error code 21 26 iphone 4S

After my latest update on my iphone 4 my phone started just shutting down and restarting by itself. I have tried to restore the phone with the latest version of iTunes but now get the error message that iTunes has detected a phone in recovery mode. Well that's fine, I selected recovery and when it appears that the recovery mode is going to go through the recovery mode returns an error code. The first code I received is the error 1656, then a 26, then the final attempt I got an error code 21. This phone has never been dropped, mishandled, or taken any physical damage. It was working great before I attempted to update. Please if anyone else has experienced this let me know how you resolved these errors. I have attempted every trouble-shooting step indicated on the Apple support site. HELP!

I never had problems before buying apps for my iphone 4s.  I even bought some today.  then I started getting a message that paypal is not compatible with itunes and I had to go to my account and put a defferent payment.  I did that but I still can't buy apps or even download free apps. Has anyone else had this issue and how did you fix it?

Nike won't let me sync my workout data over wifi iphone 4

I recently bought nike+ sensor and have just been for a run in it.  However it won't let me upload my workout data via wifi.  It comes up with a message saying:  Nike+iPod cannot sync workouts because nike+ service is unavailable.  I have tried and tried and again and it doesn't work.  I have googled it and there is not any answer to it so far. any help would be appreciated.thanks

Waiting for activation Error message iphone 4S

I get a "waiting for activation" message when trying to turn on IMessage and Facetime. I rebooted the phone and reset the network settings but it did not work. Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?
