Which uses most battery on standby 2G wifi or just wifi iphone 5

Hello, Which mode uses most battery when the phone is on standby and on a wifi network and has 2G (EDGE) coverage.. 2G+wifi or just wifi? I believe it is 2G+wifi because when you put your phone to sleep, it turns off wifi leaving push connected through 2G which consumes very low power. If I have only wifi enabled, the phone can't turn off wifi otherwise it'd lose the push connection. Thanks.

iphone 4s Wifi problem, After using the device of 7 month. wifi is not working. BEFORE WAS WORKING FINE and now wifi is not able to identify. Re iphone 4s wifi

My iphone 4s no longer allows me to connect to any wifi connections. The option is greyed out and wont let me do anything to it. I have tried restarting and resetting the network connections and all  settings but this has not worked. The wifi came back briefly randomly at one or two points but could not find any wifi networks. I have read on the internet it is probably a hardware problem so I will be taking it back to apple next week. Just wondered if anyone had any further ideas about the problems?

Folks, I am getting confusing information from various sources.According to the service I am using for factory unlocking my iphone 5, as soon as I unlock my phone I will be able to use it on all GSM networks, except the original ATT. This is contrary to all the previous unlocks I have ever done on any phone. What is the reason why my phone will no longer work on ATT, if true? Can APPLE or ATT help me get it back on ATT network once I no longer need to use it overseas? Thank you for your help.

Fixed my phone but display still doesn't work iphone 4S

4S got run over by a car. I changed the broken display, functionality (sound, vibration, cameras, wireless, mobile data, emails and other notifications come in, I can here SIRI, etc.) is working (tested via cylay).  Battery always low and phone turns off pretty fast after unplugging from the charger. Plugged in it turns off itself after about five minutes and restarts immediately again + display doesn't work (sometimes gets bright but there appears no clear picture only some grey tones). It worked about three times though that the display was clear and I could use the phone for about five minutes before it lost its picture again.  What could be broken?

I recently purchased an iphone 5 (Monday, May 6th) and am convinced that the battery is defective. I attempted to get the phone replaced by AT&T since it is within their 14-day Return/Exchange policy, but of course they denied me based on it being a "technical" issue and therefore a problem I need to take up with Apple. I have tried resetting and erased all data but still no luck detecting network. 3G is found briefly when powering back up. I have tried two different sims from two different providers 3 an Vodafone but whilst carrier is found neither connect. Wifi if working fine as are all other phone functions. Any ideas?

Battery Life Degraded After Restoring from Jailbreak iphone 4

I recently did a jailbreak on my phone and decided I didn't like it. I restored the phone to Apple factory settings and everything is fine except the battery. It will not hold a charge more than a few hours -- and that's on STANDBY, not actually using the phone or making calls! Is there anything else I need to do to erase all traces of the jailbreak? Or is there anything I can do to improve my battery life? I've already done the following: 1) lowered the screen brightness2) close programs when not in use3) changed auto-lock time to 1 minute (the shortest possible)

I recently upgraded from 4s to 5. I'm experiencing issues with the bluetooth transmission/receive range. When I'm running with the iphone on my arm my wireless headset quite often drops the connection. Same problem when I'm using bluetooth with My car. I can't have the phone in My pocket while driving, I must put it between My seats, otherwhise the connection drops.  Had no problem like this with My 4 or 4s, so I convinced it's something with iphone 5. Anyone else? Is it a hardware or software issue?

Hi there, Im scott, I dont own an iphone so know nothing whatsoever about them. this is our issue pls help :   My sister purchased an iphone 4 from a woman at her work. Her husband upgraded to iphone 5 so sold his old one to my sister. My sister currently has a blackberry on contract to virgin media here in England. She took her BB along with her new iphhone to a local phone shop They cut her simcard down to size and put it into the iphone. When we turned it on we got this message 'only compatible sim cards from a support carrier....... '  I called our current contract to exdplain what we were intending to do and swap settings from a blackberry to her new iphone... they said we needed to contact the original service provider... here lies our issue.  My sister works as a nurse.. she called her collgue to explain all this and ask what network he was on. She doesnot kno and her husband isnt home for another cpl weeks he is military. My sister doesnt want to wait a few weeks to use her new phone. Is there anyway to unlock and activate this phone giving all the detials of the phone and confirmation from his wife regarding the new user ?  Ive read on the internet about jailbraking and all that nonsense.. but i dont want to damage the phone.. I'm having an issue with my wifi/network internet connection. Wifi will work fine sometimes but then wont work unless I turn wifi off/on again. Also when leaving my home my phone wont switch over to my network internet unless I turn my phone on and off.

Wifi option greyed out iphone 4S

My wifi option has been grayed out for several weeks now, Apple has even replaced my phone. I've tried all the tricks from resetting network settings, heating method, and apparently there is a freezing method as well. Apple is wanting to replace it, but it will happen again. I hate how Apple ignores issues like this, since I've seen reports about it as early as April, but I'm sure has happened before then. I'm still under warranty, and lately I've been trying to downgrade to the iOS 6.1.2 since I didn't have the issue at that point, but that's not allowed by Apple and I can't do it through jailbreak since I didn't save SHSH blobs from that previous software. At this point, I'm at a loss, I don't see how they don't realize that it's a big issue for people. What I wish would happen is just for them to re-release 6.1.2 and just label it as 6.1.4 or something as a temporary fix. Hopefully another discussion about this issue will prompt Apple into working faster on a fix, or at least acknowledge it and let people that have been affected know that a fix is coming very soon.

iphone 4s 6.1.3 problems with 3g In and Outgoing Calls

Hi Everybody!I got a factory unlocked (originally was Vodafon locked) iphone 4s with firmware 6.1.3.When I insert my sim (Hungarian Telenor) when only EDGE is on it founds the signal and seems like everything is working.After a few hours or sometimes even a day passes by a phone stays on full signal with Carrier logo and Edge on, but my friends reporting that they cant call me(like im offline) and i cant make calls either.The interresting stuff is that the Edge connection is fully working during that im offline for my friends via Calls and i can send and recieve imessages and viber messages.When i switch 3g on it disconnects from service drops the EDGE and never finds the way back and stays 'searching' or 'no service' at all.. I thought that its my Carrier's fault so i went to spoke with them and tried 5different micro Sims( cause i wrote that 4s-s are sensitive to SIM card types).. this thing not worked either, Then i tried the phone with a T-mobile SIM card.. it does the same..connects to the services,but with 3g switched on not finding service..so totally like with my sim. Here Comes the bumm... i Tried the phone with vodafone sim and everything works.. simple connectivity to 3g with full internet usage,can make and recieve calls...I spoked with all of the Carriers and also Apple and no body can give me nothing..the phone is off varranty so changed to a new one isnt an option..Anybody? I know that its most likely a hardward issue as stated in the forum. Now here is the problem.  I bought the iphone from a local (philippines) online reseller http://lazada.com.ph.  Lazada would only give the the apple 1-800-1441-0234 number and will not accept any repairs and service.  I would never purchase anything from lazada specially electronics because of how they handled my case. Absolutely no support and repair /service channels for iphones bought from them.  As per lazadas advice, I called the 1800 number and was again adviced to call the local carriers.  I was adviced by the apple chat support to contact my local carriers. Local carriers like smart and globe would only accept repairs and service for iphones bought from them. I visited several local apple reseller stores and they decline to render service because the unit was not bought from them. I cant seem to get technical support and have the iphone checked by an authorized service center. What and where is the proper channel for me to get support and have the unit repaired or replaced? Thank you in advance.

my iphone 4s is not able to connect to any wireless networks for some reason. It used to work fine, but now it just shows that spinny circle and pretends like its trying to find me some wifi, but its not. then I try and do it manually and it says it cant scan for wireless networks.

Issues after 6.1.4 update iphone 5

IS anyone else having issues after the 6.1.4 update? Here is what I have experienced in the last two days.  1- Unable to access a locked or secure network.  It asks for password initially.  When entered, it is unable to connect.  I restart and then go to Settings, find the network and click.  I never get a prompt for the password, just "Unable to Connect" 2-Bluetooth.    I can after a few attempts to connect my Bluetooth headphones, only after I get a "Failed attempt" a few times.  Then only music works, unable to make phone calls.  This happens with two different products.  A SENA SMH 10R and LG HBS 700.   3- Music play - I found this issue out when trying to figure out problem with Bluetooth.  I can start to play a song fine, but if I click on the ">>" or "<< "  it freaks the player out and then skips multiple songs or stops play and goes back to the playlist.  At first it was doing this with the Bluetooth headphones when using it to make selections.  So I deleted the devices and the iphone continued to do it when selecting functions on the screen.  Some playlists did it and some don't.  Creating a new playlist did not help.  Additional Info.Apple Store replaced my iphone on Saturday 5.4.13 because if antina issues.  The issues above came after I restored from backup and updated the OS.  I have erased the phone 2 times since getting the new phone and restored from back up and rebuilt from Itunes and neither way makes a difference above. What is going ON?   Message was edited by: Karl Kroeker  Corrected Version update

I reset network settings and  I have reset the SIMS card and I am still having the same problem.  My husband is on the same cell service as I am and he is not having any problems.    When I try to make a call - it goes directly to call ended - when people try to call me it goes directly to my voice mail. on the left hand side at the top all it says is seraching - my wifi is connected... i also keep getting NO Service..  Can anyone help? Thanks

My iphone 4S can't work under 2100MHz bands frequency

I'm using iphone 4S in Thailand.  Generally, my 4S went well under AIS (local carrier) 1800MHz but 2 weeks ago AIS has upgraded to be 2100MHz for faster network then my 4S turned locked. However, i tried putting my sim card to another 4S, it worked. I sent to an authorized dealer, they disregarded and blamed the carrier.  I bought from Apple Store in Thailand but was claimed once in Singapore.  What should i do ? Thank you in advance.

Turn off everything except GPS iphone 5

I have a CDMA iphone (Verizon), and I frequently hike using an app that tracks my route with GPS. However, the battery drains completely in 3-4 hours partly because the phone is looking for a cellular network. I tried turning on Airplane Mode, but that also disables the GPS. Of course, I have turned off cellular data and bluetooth, but the phone keeps looking for a cellular (voice) network. I have checked forums and people with GSM phones simply remove the SIM card, but I can't do that since I have a Verizon phone. Is there any way to turn off the battery-draining search for a cellular network when I am in remote areas?
