Crashing and screen flickering problems. iphone 4

I too have had the "flickering/flashing" screen problem...I received my first iphone 4 on release day (6/24); had no display issues until 3 days later, on 6/27. First occurred while on call in car; phone continued to work but display was black; had to do the two-button "hard restart" method to reboot phone. I was away on vacation for a week (not near an Apple Store), and phone continued to have this issue at least once/day. It could be on any screen or app...had it occur on calendar, a game, the home screen, etc. It would begin flashing ~8 times, then go to a "lit up black" (not off but slightly and evenly lit up black). Sometimes it would be 75% black, w/ a whiter "band" across the top 25% of the display.I discovered that sometimes if I quickly hit the button on top while it was still flashing, I could "save it."I have videoed this (using my 3GS phone...now my wife's) a few times, and it also did it at the Genius Bar at my local Apple Store last Friday (7/9) when I returned it. They saw it in-person, and watched one of my videos, and promptly gave me a replacement phone.However, the NEXT day, 7/10, my replacement iphone 4 has started to do a similar thing...no "flashing/flickering", just goes to the "lighter black" screen. First occurred when trying to open the calendar. I contacted Tech support and spoke to someone at Apple for ~1 hour, who said there have been NO reported display issues from others, and thought it perhaps was due to a corrupt "Restore from backup" file. She suggested that I do a regular restore (not from backup), but I have hesitated to do so yet, instead looking/waiting to see if others have had this issue, as I don't want to lose contact, texting & calendar info.She also said it was not good to perform the "hard restart" (two button) function very much... I eventually have tried the "slide to power off" across the top of the black screen, and phone turned off and could restart with just the single (upper) button. So the phone is ON...just display isn't...I am an AVID iphone user (have had the 2G, 3GS and now 4 model) for 2 1/2 years, and this won't make me "switch"...I just want it FIXED..!

Hello.  I have an i4. My calendar icon went missing after I respringed my i4 when I changed the theme. I tried with restore my home screen layout but that didn't work out. I restarted it without luck. Went on to look if I had misplaced it, but that was not the case. I have a jailbroken i4. Is there anyway I can get the calendar back?  Thanks in advance.

iOS 6.1.4 Overheating High Battery Consumption iphone 5

Having issues with iOS 6.1.4 heating up (in standby) and high battery consumption in standby. It's not consistant but I will, sporatically, notice my phone warming up, in my pocket, to pull it out, turn the screen on and then off again and it'll cool down.Battery consumption is also very high (worse than iOS 6.1 update issue) and is drained quickly. I've closed all active applications (but mail and calendar as I need for work) and still will occur.

iphone 5 Frequently Crashes to Apple Logo and Screen Lock

I have an iphone 5 64 GB running iOS 6.1.4 on AT&T. Over the past ~ three days, have noted that the iphone randomly "crashes".  Could be when I am using an app.  Could be when I am making a phone call.  Could be when it is simply connected to the power cord and haven't touched it at all. The cycle is as follows: Screen suddenly goes blankThe white Apple logo (which typicaly appears during boot-up) appears for 3 - 5 secondsI hear the "chirp" that normally sounds at the end of boot-upThe iphone lock lock screen then appears Sometimes, when the phone emerges from lock screen, the brightness is about half of what it was prior. I have not been able to isolate this behavior to a specific set of circumstances.  When it occurs during a phone call, the call is interrupted / other party is silenced, but if I swipe at lock screen, the call resumes (the other party notes that I went silent during duration). I have re-started / re-booted the iphone 15 times.  I have cleared all apps from the cache.  I have disabled all notifications and location services.  I have done a Reset All Settings on iphone and restored from iCloud.  I have done a Restore from iTunes.  The problem continues. I would say that this crash cycle occurs about every 30 - 60 minutes.  As noted, many times when I'm not even touching / using the iphone. Have also noted that when not connected to power supply, the iphone is quite warm, and battery drain is at an accelerated rate of 3x to 4x of "normal", worse than prior iOS 6 related battery issues.  Have also tried all the usual battery saving tricks - wifi is off, GPS is off, EQ is off, etc. Any thoughts before I head to the Genius Bar? Thanks! TCF

Hello apple support community.My i phone 5 that I recently bought last Sunday (May 5th) has some major issues. The battery life is TERRIBLE!! I have tried to lower brightness, turn off lte, turn off vibration, etc... But nothing is working!!! I exchanged the iphone for another black 32 gig, but event this one is pretty bad. I got 5hrs 20mins of usage, and 7hrs 16mins on standby. This is my second charge on this new phone. I drained it down to 0% when I first got it and then an overnight charge for 8hrs all the way up to 100%. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!! All answers would be greatly appreciated!- Biggie_LP

How I restore my Outlook calendar after it got deleted when I synchronized it with my iphone

I synchronized my iphone with iTunes and my Outlook calendar.  By doing so, I deleted all of my Outlook calendar events in Outlook and on my iphone.  How do I reverse that action?  I tried restoring my iphone with the backup.  When I do this, my calendar events come back on my iphone but as soon as I plug it into my computer, it syncs with iTunes and deletes everything all over again.  I have tried changing the sync settings to not sync the calendar but it still synchronizes and deletes everything.  PLEASE HELP!

iphone 4s Software Update fail from 5.1.1 to 6.1.3

Hey everyone I have been holding back from updating my iOS on my iphone 4s (I know - not a smart move) I am currently still on 5.1.1 and trying to update to 6.1.3 (finally) from the phone itself (not via iTunes) I am trying to downlaod and install the update using Wi-Fi connectivity, but it just wouldn't let me? Kept saying An Error occured while downloading... It didn't give me any error code or any other explanation. It just simply won't update  I know it was silly of me to begin with for not updating for so long, but I don't understand why my phone is rejecting the update? If this is even what is happening..  Also I sent my iMac for repair recently, came back with a Lion (which was what I had on there previously anyway) but it wasn't updated? So I couldn't just open iTunes and restore all my contacts..  AND I am still currently in the process of downloading the updates - but something always happens as well, an error occured that I have to re-download the update, internet drops on and off, etc.  -- The reason I wanted to update was (this is a whole separate problem) my 4s kept crashing the apps, not doing anything out of ordinary - it just crashes everytime i start or a open an app. So I would hard reset my phone (turning it off and on again) and then I would find all my contacts gone. No other entries are gone, just my contact names! All messages and calendar entries are all still there - just no contact names in my address book. ***? After sleuthing here and there, and found no real solution to this problem. I decided to update my iOS because one of the discussion thread I found told me to try that. Heck, why not.  SO I tried uploading and this is where I end up..    Does ANYONE have any idea what the **** is going on? Does anyone else out tehre have the same problem? Surely this is not just me!!

My third attempt to fix my iphone 4s. I've gone through two phones calls, three associates, and one Tech. support supervisor. The only thing said to me was "I cant do anything". That would be all 300+ connected Facebook contacts. Going through one by one would be madness and I really do not want to disconnect FB from my phone. Is there honestly no way to turn off calendar notifications for birthdays alone?

Dropped iphone in water

I was in the bathroom and my phone fell into a bucket that had a bit of water in it. I immediately took it out and my sister blew in a few areas and I dried some holes with tissue and tested to see if anything wasn't working (sound basically. everything was working fine, though the sound was a bit low) and then I turned it off. After maybe 2 minutes we put it in a bag of rice. Throughout this whole event the LED light in the back has been on and it still is. It's been an hour since it happened. Why isn't the light turning off and do you think my phone will be fine in a couple of days? The thing is I literally just went to the Apple store today to replace the iphone I had that didn't let me turn my phone off and on (the power button was basically stuck).

Reminders app no longer works. iphone 3G

I am new to iphone but have used this built-in app before with no problems. Now the + button has disappeared from top RH corner and I therefore cannot create any reminders. Can choose any day from the 7 day calendar showing at bottom of screen but still cannot enter any text on any day.  Can select List view but cannot do anything there either (only 'Done' to return to main screen).  I know that I cannot delete this built-in app but how do I 'refresh'  it so that it can be used?  Must I reset apps to their original locations?  Thanks.

Windows 7 crash Bluescreen when connecting iphone 5 personal Hotspot

Hi every body!  Recently i have noticed that when i want to connect my iphone 5 personal hotspot to my laptop, the moment i plug in the USB cable while the Hotspot is already running on my phone, immidiatly windows crashes. with a bluescreen error. I switched off the hotspot and then connect to my laptop nothing happens and every thing seems normal, but turning on the hotspot is a problem. every time i need to use my personal hotspot i have to reboot my laptop and while its rebooting i connect the USB cable in order to use my personal Hotspot while its ON on the phone. Please Help!

7 different faults-it hardware failure iphone 4S

I've had my 4S since January 2012.  All was well for about a year, and then the fun began.1) When the weather got colder (Less than five or six degrees), the phone would suddenly claim to have a flat battery, and turned itself off.  Plugging in an external battery pack brought it back to life.  Taking it back inside a warm building would bring it back to life again.  2) About twice a month, it crashes, and wipes all my contacts/calendar data.  I started backing up to iCloud, so then it would restore from there, but muddle my contacts' photos up.3) It refuses to sync with iTunes.  It says there's not enough memory.  Sometimes on the phone, sometimes on my PC.4) At least once a day, it loses the ability to join any mobile network.  Turning it off and on again usually allows it to rejoin my network (T Mobile).5) Instead of T Mobile, it randomly likes to show my operator name as 000-0000.6) It helpfully closes all my Safari tabs if I minimise Safari and use another app.7) The GPS is failing, which is a real nuisance because I use Nike+ for my daily jog. T Mobile's tech help were not very much help as soon as they realised I'd had the phone for over a year, and was therefore no longer covered by their warranty.  They reckoned it was a hardware failure.  I've purchased Apple Care today, and booked a Genius Bar appointment for Friday.  Does anyone have experience of any of these problems?

iphone 4s calendar App not Working

Hi, All of a sudden my calendar App is not working.Other apps appear to be OK. When I select the calendar app the screen goes white with a grey bar at the top and bottom (as though it is going to work) and then after about 1 second it just returns to my home page. Any ideas please? Thanks Pete

After the newest update my email app keeps crashing. When I deleted the account and tried to log back in it would crash and I couldn't log back in. So I tried to restore my iphone and it fixed some of the other problems I was having however not the email problem. And now it has created a new one, my battery life is bing eaten away far too quickly! If anyone can help please try!!

crash-I updated my Apps on my iphone 3GS IOS6.1.3

Hi, I clicked on "update all" apps on my iphone and since then I am unable to access all the potentially "updated" ones.Normally I would do a restart and update them from my computer, but this time it doesn't help. Even if I delete the app and reinstall it from the computer or iphone it reapears as "installing" and it doesn't work. Restored backup didn't work either. Does anyone has a suggestion how to reset what ever is preventing the iphone from reinstalling the apps from scratch? Thank you so much,Ludwig

My iphone 5 crashing

I got an iphone 5 for Christmas, so around 3 months of having it, my iphone has recently been having major problems. My phone will randomly crash when doing normal things like on a phone call or on an app. The touching is really really slow and itll freeze for a couple seconds before finally realizing that I hit it. This problem was happening when I had 6.1.2 when this problem started, and now even updated with the most recent 6.1.3, its still happening. Any other 5 users expierencing this? Any ideas on what to do?

how can I keep old appointments from deleting in my iphone calendar

It seems iphone's calendar automatically deletes past appointments.  It won't even let me make an appointment for something that happened in the past.  I need to reference old appointments though so is there some way to make the iphone save old appointments or at least ask me?  It has nothing to do with syncing to my computer as I rarely do that.  This is really annoying.  My old Palm would save everything and it was great since I could go back and see the last time I went to the dentist, etc.  Is there a fix to this?

iphone 4s deleted notes calendar items

Why does iphone delete notes or calender items?  More importantly, how would I accidently delete them and is there a way to restore them? This happened with my calander items a month ago.  All of a sudden my appointments for the future and past were gone.  I got them back by restoring it (I THINK.)  After the fact I realized icloud was free and now use that as a back up for my phone. Then again today I was going to delete an item on my note and ALL my notes were gone.  I don't understand how it could of been my fault though.  When you open the Note app I had 9 different 'threads' I will call them.  Within each thread I had more 'notes'.  I was deleting one note from a thread and all of a sudden all my threads were missing by two. I am not sure how I accomlished this, but Notes was not set up in my iClould and I don't know how to get it back.  My issue I know, but any help would be appreciated.   Thanks!

I just started to get a SIM Failure Pop up on my iphone 5on Thursday while traveling and using Maps fornavigation. I cannot seem to remove or repair this error.I have gone to yoru support page and followedinstructions on how to reset network.I first tried to send a text and failure came up. Then resetnetwork and text went through, but pop up still came upwith Sim Failure every time I turn my phone on.I also followed instructions to remove Sim Card whenturned off and Reinserted it and that did not work either.What do I do? I have powered off, updated phone andanything on yoru site I couldl handle myself to do.Can you fix this? Or is it a Verizon Wireless issue?

Best apps for productivity iphone 3G

I need a calendar app that has a quick add for appointments and events, i need a way to pick a date in calendar  view, then add a event or reminder or todo and even add a note with checkmarks or numbered such as 1,2,3, etc.  And. One with geo location alerts for reminders about stuff as i am near the location of the area where i need to go. i have tried just about every notepad  and reminder app out there some do offer the things I am looking for such as (checkmark ) or some from (Appigo)  but like spring-pad or life topics they have so many options and  really too many choices it takes ten steps to set a reminder on those.  If anyone has any suggestions or ideas please let me know. hi, everyone, I'm from China. I'm using an iphone 4s 16G black with a Trexta shell. I bought it in the Sanlitun Apple store, Beijing. Last night I wanted to change another shell. After I took off the Trexta shell, I found there was a sunken part which felt smooth by fingers on the back cover(the adge is not sunken). I've never dropped my iphone on the floor and there is no collision track you could see in the first picture. I thought it's like this when I bought it.  so I posted these on the biggest apple communities of China, but no one had seen this kind of problem before. Someone thought it's a plastic forming problem. In my opinion, the Apple products represent the best and perfect. If it's really a plastic forming problem, I can't believe it would happen on the iphone. someone said "go to the Apple store and change a new one", but Apple customer service said, after 14 days, Appearance problems is not in the warranty scope. someone suggested me to keep it as a souvenir, cause it's a small probability event.someone joked that I can put my iphone on Ebay, it's an Apple with a bite, maybe someone want to buy it. Have anyone seen the same problem before?  I hope you can understand what i'm saying, and forgive my poor English. Can I still update to ios 6 even after ios 6.1.2 is on my phone. I never updated to ios 6 and now even with the ios 6.1.2 software it doesn't change my calendar or update anything else? What can I do? Please help.

I must be missing something. I backed up my old phone on itunes and then restored it to my new phone. I got my calendar and my contacts and my pictures but that's it. How do I get the apps from my old phone with all the same settings?

after update os 6.1.2 my wifi and certain apps not work iphone 4S

i updated the operating system 3 days ago. Since the update the wifi does not work. when you try to turn it on , there is no possibility since the cursor is light grey. then 4 of my applications can no longer be opened , they crash.I called the apple service and i was told that sice my warrenty had expired by 20 days they could no longer help me.!!!!what the f...k.... i install your update and it sends my iphone haywire and now its my fault.The guy did agree with me so he told me to force a new installation and i installed the factory settings. Nothing has changed.... no wifi and the 4 apps crash.Can someone help me or at least give me an explication.My OS is 6.1.2Thanks

My iphone 4s running IOS 6.1.1 facebook app always crashes when trying to open events. How can I resolve this problem? Moreover there is no sound in the facebook notifications. Anyone else has this problem please ??

Can t turn off Facebook birthdays iphone 3G

I have an iphone 4s running iOS 6.1.2.  I have synced Facebook contacts with phone contacts, I also have the Facebook App. I have disabled Facebook in notifications (no banners, off on every option), I go into calendar and disable the "Birthdays" under "Facebook", I have even diabled Birthdays for phone contacts. Once another birthday comes along the option in Facebook Birthdays for calendar is enabled as if by magic and up pops a notification.  I disable it again and once another birthday comes along, hey presto it enables itself again with another message. The phone contacts birthdays does not re-enable itself, just the Facebook Birthdays. Seems like either a bad Facebook "bug" which is legally a privacy infringment, or an iphone bug.

iphone 5 battery drains

All of a sudden, yesterday, my battery began draining at about 1% per minute even while locked.  I have IOS 6.1.2 and this had not happened before I updated to that software.  I have turned off loction services, most of my mail and calendar push, bluetooth and a number of other functions and the battery still drains. Is this a know problem?  Is there a fix available or in the works?

Ive had my 4s for over a year with great battery life. No new apps in last few weeks. I am active sync to an exchange server and deleted my calendar. Ive turned down or off almost every option i can with 0% improvement. This all started the night i downloaded 6.1 Anyone hear of any fixes i havent mentioned?

iphone 5 appplayer crash

Hello, My new iphone 5 for verizon is having some issues. 1. App crash - Almost every app I open, excluding pre loaded will not function. I have to re open the app several times to get it up. after updating to the new IOS last night I have noticed the frequency increase2. Music will not play - for the last week or so, my music players will not function. Pandora or apple music specifically. I load the app, select music and it starts to play and immediatly pauses. I have done soft resets, turned phone on and off and reloaded pandora to test. I am wondering if this is a hardware or software related issue. Any advice on possible fixes would be appriciated. I am thinking I might need to go into apple, but would like to avoid this if possible.

How can I remove individual facebook events from my calendar on my iphone with iOS6

I have successfully integrated my Facebook calender with the calendar on my iphone with iOS6, but I would like to be able to remove individual events from the calendar on my iphone so it's less cluttered. I have tried declining the invite on facebook, but it makes no difference. I also don't want to simply un-sync events. Any ideas?
