Muffeled audio using bluetooth headset iPhone 4

On my iPhone 4 everyone is complaining that they can barely hear me when Im using my bluetooth headset. I have a few headsets that I have tried, which never had any complaints in the past with my previous iPhone, but are all having this problem with the iPhone 4. Even using the Apple earphones I get complaints. Anyone else have this problem? No problems with iOS 4 on 3G or 3GS, only iPhone 4. iPhone 4 iOS 4

iPhone 4 Bug List-iOS 4.0.2

I just wanted to post this topic as Im curious if the Apple monster will even read this or address them. I hope I get surprised. Apple makes, hands down, the most high quality of devices, but they tend to have it there way more than ours. I guess thats what makes them Apple. Without further ado, here is my list of bugs Ive noticed and I hope youll add to it. I would just love to see Apple address these:1. Performance issues with Podcasts and multiple-tasking. Youll hear stuttering on occasion, sometimes often while playing a podcast or even music. Ive noticed this at random and also at times when the phone locks or when switching out of the iPod.2. I just noticed this one: if you take the time to write on this exact site, you will find yourself getting lost, as sometimes the text goes on, and the screen doesnt follow it. Suprising that even on the iPhones home site, it cant perform the way it ought to. Youll also notice that below here, its asking me what hardware Im using and what OS. It should be clear what hardware Im on and even what OS Im running. Brilliant, considering this is Apple.com, I selected the iPhone 4 section, and the browser can report the os version. Oh wow, I just lost my text again and had to press the expanding icon on the bottom right of this pane. Also, sometimes i lose my text permanently where I should be able to scroll down to find it but there arent scroll bars... The attention to detail of the aesthetics of the phone cant be matched on the outside, but again, leave a lot to be desired on the inside.3. Echo for the remote callers own voice when my phone is plugged into a stereo through the headphone jack. Even when my volume is so low, I cant hear it.4. While heavily texting, if I exit out to the home screen after/during the send of the text, my phone will freeze for a good 60-120 seconds. If I press too many buttons, trying to get it to respond, it will reboot itself instead of coming back to life. Again this only happens (very seldom) when Im sending texts to multiple random people and I abruptly go home while a message is being sent (or maybe received?).5. While playing music, the quality will often drop drastically when entering a game or application that has sounds. This has only happened in two places so far. While talking on the phone, if I go to play music on the iPod to hear in my headphones, and when entering Bejeweled 2 Blitz with the in-game music off and the sounds on, while iPod music is being played. I do not believe this is Bejeweled at fault. Try it, make a call and try and play some background music in your headphones. The quality drops to a very unacceptable level.Thats actually all I can think of for now! Please fix these issues Apple and I will gain a good bit of respect, knowing you heard and acknowledged this. Also, please, everyone post your findings as well, in addition to the bluetooth, and proximity bugs that have seemingly been addressed but not resolved. iPhone 4 iOS 4 4.0.2, thanks for the option above, and for not already knowing that.

Unable to connect to PC via bluetooth iPhone 4

I read several threads, but couldnt find an appropriate answer. I am doing the following to try to connect iPhone 4 to my laptop:1. On iPhone: turn BT on.2. On PC: Add new BT device. The laptop finds the iPhone.3. To pair the devices, I am asked to confirm a security code on both laptop and iPhone. Once confirmed on both devices, a message displays saying that theyre paired.4. On the iPhone, however, the little status indicator just keeps spinning; on the laptop, I get a message saying that it could not connect to the remote device.Is the iPhone only capable of connecting to a BT headset? Is it supposed to be able to connect to a PC???? iPhone 4 iOS 4

New iOS 4.1 iPhone 4

The new iOS 4.1 gives the ability to upload HD videos - a welcome improvment! Proximity sensor, bluetooth and 3gs issues are said to be fixed. A new game centre dedicated to muliplayer games will also be added. High Dynamic Range photos will also be included (the camera automatically brackets an exposure on either side of your picture then takes the best of the three for the final result). microphone level too low iPhone 4

It seems like the microphone input level on my wifes iPhone 4 is too low. People have trouble hearing her during her calls. Using the headset, speakerphone, or bluetooth doesnt increase the volume, nor does covering up the noise-cancelling input on the top. Using the voice recorder app, I used the same headset the same distance from my mouth to compare the meter volume against my 1st gen iPhone, and the input comes in at least 6dB lower. Is this a defective model that needs to be returned? Or is this expected as part of the new design? My wife says she cant use it as a phone, it may have to go back. It would be great if a future iOS update allowed us to adjust the input level. iPhone 4 iOS 4

While I wanna use bluetooth from iPhone for the internet connection to MacBook under Windows 7 environment, the bluetooth between my iPhone and MacBook is not successful. I on my bluetooth for a long time, but is unable to detect any devices, however, using my other bluetooth devices, they are able to detect my iphone 4. is this a software issue or hardware issue? shd i return this phone and exchange for a new one? iOS 4

I need to replace my dearly departed Logitech FreePulse bluetooth headphones. Battery percentage issue iPhone 4

When I charge my phone to 100% overnight (wall) and unplug it, the battery literally drops to 99% within a minute of usage (email checking etc). It happened this morning and then I rebooted the phone which knocked it back to 100% for an extra 10 mins or so till it went to 99%. It also seems to drop fairly fast...I tried exiting all my background apps which helped a bit but not really. restoring the phone, etc...Ive got push email on, wifi on, push notifications on, bluetooth off. Right now Im at 88% battery usage with 1 hr 5 mins usage (browsing) and 1 hr 22 mins standby. Does this seem weird?Ive restored with backup, restored as a new phone and same problem. I was thinking it might be a rogue app but Ive exited everything - an app couldnt cause battery drain just by being installed could it? Dell Windows 7

Major Problem iphone 4. I can hear them they cannot hear me.

This has been happening for the last 3 days. I make or receive a call on my iPhone 4 and within seconds the party on the other line cannot hear me at all. I hear them perfectly but they cannot hear me. Sometimes it happens right away sometimes it takes several seconds but my voice completely drops out. This happens 50 to 80% of the time.Went to the apple store and they checked it by using the recorder app which worked fine and then by making a call which also worked fine. They did not perform any diagnostics. Im on the road all day and my business depends on my phone. I am now afraid to make calls for fear of the person on the other side losing me mid sentence or not hearing me at all. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. This happens whether Im on speaker, mic or bluetooth.I upgraded to the latest software on Sunday and to no avail. Am I alone? 32gb iPhone 4 4.0.2 software. Multitasking Music and Text iPhone

I am considering getting a iphone 4, and selling my ipod touch. Although I like to listen to music a lot and I would also like to text and talk on the phone. Does this phone allow me to listen to music and also talk on the phone at the same time, or listen to music and text at the same time? This would probably be done via bluetooth. I want to bluetooth stream music to a set of speakers (in my car or at home) and still be able to talk and text freely without disturbing my music in the car. Is this possible? Gateway Windows Vista

Canceling call from Tom Tom doesnt always cancel call on iPhone 3G

Having paired via bluetooth, and dialed a call from the Tom Tom (hands-free, in the car) we find that canceling the call (on the TomTom, and perhaps before the call was answered) sometimes leaves the iPhone working away ... anyone else getting this ? 24" Alu iMac / HiRes17" MBP + Air / PPC G4 desk + laptop / unplugged 1Tb TC / Mac OS X (10.5.4) / G4s use 10.4.0 and OS8.6 + OS9.2 for legacy stuff

iPhone 4 bluetooth and Dodge My Gig-cause it to power off

My iPhone 4 with OS 4.0.1 was working great - I did the upgrade to 4.0.2 and now whenever bluetooth is turned on it causes my My GiG car system to power cycle. It will then come on for a couple of minutes and then power off/on again. If I turn off bluetooth on the iPhone - no problems.I have deleted Pairing - tried making a new bluetooth connection - same thing. Apple bluetooth headsett doesnt sync with iphone 4 or charge

The Apple bluetooth Headset that used to work with my iPhone 3g does not charge or sync with the iPhone 4. Is this a known problem? In other words the usb cable that connects the headset device to the iPhone doesnt allow that headset icon to appear on the static home screen indicating a connection and a charge. bluetooth wont discover devices iPhone 3G

I recently had my iPhone exchanged under a warranty. When I try to pair to another bluetooth device, i am unable to. My iMac can see my iPhone, but my iPhone cant see my Mac or any other of the 6 or 7 bluetooth devices I have. I am running the 3.0 version and had no issue with my old iPhone on the same version. Hi, I`m new to the forum, a while ago I had my phone connected to ITunes and it got disconnected by accident, so I had to go the Apple store to have it fix, after i got all my info back in the iphone, I tried to pair it again to my /09 nissan rogue, but for some reason it won`t. iPhone 4 bluetooth Connection to Car

When I was using my 3G (with the iOS4 software) with my cars bluetooth kit, it would automatically sync up whenever I turned the ignition on. Now, with the iPhone 4, my car doesnt automatically sync. I always have to manually initiate the connection either through the phone or the car kit. Ive paired, re-paired, resetted, powered down/up, and pairing with the car on first or with the phone first and vice versa to see if it would connect automatically like the 3G but I havent had any luck. iPhone 3G 8GB-Slow as all get out

Ok, I have spent time searching the forums, and web for any answers. I have a few problems with my iPhone, and most of you will probably hate me for what I am going to say.First issue: My iPhone is ungodly slow. I mean it takes about 3-4 minutes for the app store to load sometimes, when loading an app, constantly loads while in the app, causing the app to freeze. Sometimes when I go into an app, after about 15-30 seconds it kicks me out of the app.Second issue: Sound is super low. When I go to make a call on my iPhone, I am either forced to use a bluetooth Headset or Speaker to place the call. The normal speaker works but is really really low. And yes, I do have the volume all the way turned up. When receiving a call, I can barely hear the ringtone sometimes, it is super low.Third issue: My iPhone constantly says No Simcard Installed I know part of it is probably because the sim does not fit snug inside the phone anymore, but It also does it randomly at times. I was wondering if it could be a software issue, and not the actual sim card. Last issue (For Now): Replacing the back case. I am wondering if I should replace the back case for my phone, or just finally upgrade to another iPhone. My back case has about 5 cracks on it, its loose, and my lock/power button does not work, the vibrator switch does not work, vibrate does not work, and I am missing a piece of the case that goes on the top of the phone.So should I just spare myself headache, and financial hit, and just go purchase another iPhone 3G or 3GS, I do not plan on getting the iPhone 4 as of yet, but do you think it is time for a full upgrade, or just fix the issues I am currently having. 15" Macbook Pro (2010) iPhone 3G 8G Mac OS X (10.6.4) 2.66 GHZ Core i7 500GB HD, 4GB RAM

Downgrade to version 3.1.2 iPhone 3G

Let me first mention, for the most part, I absolutely love the iPhone 4. I previously owned the 3G and 3GS. But Ive dropped more calls with the iPhone 4 that I have with the previous versions (3G & 3GS). The whole reason I switched to AT&T five years ago, is that there is a cell tower not more than one block away from me (I can look out my window and see it), I remember about a year ago there was a problem with the iphone 3G phone dropping calls when you are on 3G network, I never had that problem. And on my previous iPhones I always had full signal strength no matter where I was in the house and almost never dropped a call. I know in the version 4.0.1 it changed how it calculates the signal strength, now I only get three bars at best. As I mentioned I live next to the cell tower, seriously I should not have this problem! Of course I got numerous other problems with the new iOS 4.0.1, same problem everyone else been experiencing on this discussion board (syncing with Microsoft exchange, bluetooth, and devices not being recognized, etc). Until Apple fixes these problems, hopefully it’s a software fix. I would like to switch back to my iPhone 3G, but I upgraded it to iOS 4, and would like to go back to 3.1.2. “It worked”. Ive read various different articles on how to do it, but have been unsuccessful in doing it. Any suggestions? 3G iOS 4 Downgrade to version 3.1.2

Jabra Cruiser-bluetooth car speaker compatibility iPhone 4

The Jabra Cruiser is a popular bluetooth car speaker that works with iPhone. One of the features of the speaker is that it will announce the callers name, using the phones address book. However, users are not able to get the feature to work with iPhone. Jabra says its using bluetooth PBAP (Phone Book Access Protocol) so it should work as the iPhone supports that protocol (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3647).The speaker does successfully use voice dial with the iPhone, so you can say a name and the speaker announces the name and calls that number, so it seems like it should work.Has anyone gotten the announce feature to work, or have any insight into why it wont? iPhone 4 iOS 4

Cannot hear anything when making or recieving calls iPhone 4

A very strange issue has started happening randomly on my new Iphone 4.it seems that randomly when making or recieving a call i cannot hear the other person and they cant hear me, this is coupled with the speaker button being automatically enabled when making an outgoing call, i can depress the button but i still cannot hear anything, i also notice that i cant repress the button it will just turn the speaker off straight away.Also i cannot hear it ring when making a call.Normals sounds are ok and the phone rings fine when someone calls me, the problem is also present when paired up through bluetooth headset.The phone has full reception and the other and I have reset the phone to factory defaults multiple times and without restoring any settings or apps the problems was still present.The problem seems to come and go randomly, very strange.Anyone know of a fix?Cheers!Message was edited by: Spasiba PC Windows 7 IOS 4.01

3G blue tooth use with ford Sync after OS upgrade to 4.0.2 iPhone 3G

I just upgraded to OS4.0.2 and have lost some of the functionality I had with my ford Sync system with the previous OS. Specifically, now my phone book will not download to Sync so I cant call a contact by voice command through Sync as I did with previous SW.If I call the contact via the iphone, then I can talk using the Sync system and I can answer new calls or end a call, etc. I can call a number as long as I know the number, I just cannot call using the contact name in my phone book. The phone book will just not download and sync tells me my phone doesnt support that function. Is this another Apple improvement to get us to buy the IPhone 4? Desktop PC iOS 4

I have a motorola bluetooth h710/h715 and as soon as I got the iphone 4, everyone is telling my I sound muffled when using it, compared to my 3gs. Anyone else have this issue? Windows XP

How I solved my iPhone 3G IOS 4 issues

The main problem with my own iPhone 3G after the upgrade to IOS 4 was constant black screen freezing (at least five times per day if not more) and a little bit of a lag when running apps. These are the things I tried:Providing enough space on the hard drive (3GB spare) - Didn’t work.Turned off wifi - Didn’t work.Turned off location services - Didn’t work.Turned off bluetooth - Didn’t work.Turned off all Push Data - Didn’t work.Full restore - Didn’t work.Full restore on brand new account followed by another restore on my account - Didn’t work.Using a ‘memory free-up’ App - Had a marginal effect on the lag but didn’t stop the freezing up.Turned off all spotlight options - Didn’t work.I contacted Apple twice throughout this process. The first one told me to download the firmware for 3.1.3 from a third party website and restore using this. I tried it but got caught in the loop on recovery mode insisting that I upgrade to 4.0.1 before I can exit recovery.I contacted Apple again to ask them how to get out of recovery after downgrading to 3.1.3 and they basically told me that I should never have been told to do this and the only way out of recovery is to upgrade to 4.0.1. I think my previous advisor got into a bit of trouble for that one.I told them their upgrade had basically broken my phone and that it was becoming as good as useless, bearing in mind I’d had no problems with it when running 3.1.3. They refused to accept that IOS 4 was the problem as it had been ‘thoroughly tested’. They told me to try restoring it on a new account, then going back to my own. Something about corrupt files. Still didnt work.Anyway, I was reluctant to use a third party program to ‘force exit’ my phone from recovery but in the end Apple gave me no choice and the freezing up was becoming intolerable.I bit the bullet at five days ago, downgraded to 3.1.3, used a program to help me exit recovery and that was that. My phone is now back on 3.1.3 and working fine again.How many freeze ups since the downgrade? Zero, and no lagging either.How many freeze ups when running on 4.0? At least five a day, every day.I feel like Ive got my phone back, and I wont be upgrading it again. iMac Mac OS X (10.5.8)

Hi I have a 2007 Landrover Freelander that worked fine with my iPhone 3G until I upgraded the phone to iOS4. Does anybody have any ideas how I can get them to pair again? Switching from bluetooth to iPhone on call not working

When I answer a call and my bluetooth earpiece is activated, if I want to talk on the iPhone (i.e. because my earpiece is upstairs or something), I cannot switch from bluetooth to iPhone. I can switch from bluetooth to Speaker and vice versa, though.Anybody else have this problem? Happened after I upgraded to 4.0.1. I havent done 4.0.2 yet. iPhone 4 iOS 4 4.0.1

Volkswagen fiscon car kit iPhone 3G

Hi there,I have just updated to OS4 on 3gs 16GB, when connecting my bluetoth to my fiscon car kit it no longer sync my contacts to the car. There are so many problems with 4.01 that you would think that Apple would be trying to reassure their customer that there was a fix coming for bluetooth, speed, over heating etc, or, could they make a step back to 3.3 possible. Arghhh-new vehicle cant sync Iphone-grrrr 3G

I have a 2010 ford Flex as of last week. I have read the ford book, watched online videos and cant get past the point where it will sync-I have got the SIM pin given to me on vehicle display- put it in my phone using steps as directed- and now it has shut me out- maxed out my tries- (3) after the last time it said I now need a PUK number- which I have no clue what it is-I want to sync it!!! I do not have a NAV package but have all the buttons it asks me to access-I can get voice recognition but it doesnt listen!I followed all the steps-my iphone is 9 months old- so of course I am paying for help if I call them-Any tricks?? bluetooth not working like before Ios 4.0 on 3GS iPhone

Since i have the update from soft 3.x to 4.0 i have problems in my car to connect to the Car bluetooth Car-Kit.I have a original BMW bluetooth Car-Kit wich was working perfect.Since the update to version 4.0 most of the times it would not connect automaticly with the Car. so the connection is not always there.After a little bit of pressing settings (bluetooth) on the phone the connection is made.I am affraid to update again to the newer one 4.01 because maybeit will not working anymore.Before the update to 4.0 there was no problem at all , everytime when in the car the connection was made automaticly without any problems. Now it is 2/10 auto connected.Already removed the connection and paired it . but the result is the same. No stable automatic connection. Now her iphone sources list works with her bluetooth, but doesnt work as it has for 2 years. It wont receive phone calls unless the bluetooth is plugged in. We reset all settings and did a hard reset as well but still not working correctly. Any ideas? G5 iOS 4

Iphone 3g-WiFi problem upgrade possibility

Hi guysI recently updated my 3g to iOS4 and 4.0.1. After sometime of usage my wi-fi become really weak and by the time I lost completely signal of that. I tried everything from software side, by downgrading resetting and all of this tricks without any luck. My wifi icon inside settings is not yet gray but I expect it to become after some time. I lost completely usage of the phone because accessing network was on of the main use of the phone. I went to genius bar in order to get it fixed but surprisingly I found out that they refused to change anything. They said that the only thing that they repair is the screen otherwise they change the phone for 269CHF. Thats completely crazy because I asked also for my silent switch to be changed and they refused!!!!! Then I though about changing the antenna on my own, so I bought a spare part from the internet which didnt improve the situation at all. I guess my wifi-bluetooth chip is broken and I am not willing to replace it..I dont know how to complain on that. I am a mac developer since 5 years and really addicted to their products but now its they first time that I hate this situation and how apple is handling this. I know that are posts of iphone 3g users (more than 400 replies) complaining about this and in parallel apple seems not to care at all for this.. I already submitted feedback for this.So since my option is only to change my phone does anyone knows that instead of paying some money to get a new 3g is there any option available to exchange it with some additional cost with an 3gs or 4? Battery Issues After Upgrade iPhone 3G

I have noticed that after iOS4. Battery life is horrible on my phone it doesnt even last half day before it dies completely.I turned off gps, bluetooth . What else can I do to get a decent battery life. IMAC Mac OS X (10.5.4)

iPhone 3G-power supply after iOS4 upgrade

after upgrade of iOS4 on my iPhone 3G the battery perfomance decraeses dramatically.I use the 3G-mode and bluetooth, but no location id service and no wifi, but the battery runs empty within 4 hours. As far as I know, multitasking is not available for my 3G.with the previous OS my iPhone runs nearly 2 days with the same settings und usage.What should I do? iPhone3G iOS 4

bluetooth Unavailable after IOS4 iPhone 3G

My wife and I both have iPhone 3Gs. We upgraded both phones to IOS4. After the upgrade my iPhones bluetooth works ok. My wifes iPhone bluetooth is dead. When we look at the general settings page on her phone bluetooth is listed as off. It occasionally flashes up the word unavailable. iOS 4 bluetooth and Wifi iPhone

Like many others, my iPhone (3GS) has been rendered useless with the iOS 4.01 update. The wifi only works when placed directly on the router, my bluetooth headphones only work when the phone is placed directly next to the headphones. I have seen many, many complaints about this, though no solutions. Anyone have a suggestion, before I toss this phone and buy an Android? Iphone 3GS iOS 4

Hanging up with bluetooth locks phone iPhone

My wife and I both have iPhone 4s running iOS 4.0.1We have different type bluetooth models. Mine is Jawbone hers is Motorola.Every 5th call or so we notice that if we end a call using the bluetooth button and not the phone (End Call) then the phone shows us the typical caller screen but the callers name is blank and pressing the End Call button does nothing. 3g tether wifi facetime iPhone

I dont have an iphone 4, but as soon as it hits the HK shelves, im gonna be all over that sit. question for today is: if i tether via bluetooth to my mbp, then create a wireless network, accessible by my iphone, can i then use that wireless network to use facetime? I understand the speed issue, i just want to know if anyone has tried it, and if not, if someone could try first then let us all know the result. As i said, im getting my ip4 in a week but i wanted to pop this question out there before i forgot 17" iMac Mac OS X (10.6.4)

Iphone 3GS adds random numbers to end of my phone numbers

Hi allHad this problem before and after upgrading to latest software.When the phone is connected to my bluetooth car system if I make or receive a call it appears in my recents with extra numbers added to the end of the original number. Also when it does this instead of the contact name appearing it is replace by their number with the extra ones added.The problem with this happening is because the their numbers have the extra digits added the caller id no longer displays.Any thought or help greatly appreciated!

difficulties when pairing Jabran BT200 freespeak with iPhone IOS 4.01 3G

Hi,I have an old bluetooth headset, Jabra BT200 (about the year 2003 I think) and for hands free calling I would like to pair it with my iPhone 3G IOS 4.01 (last SW).I looked into the technical specifications and see they both support the BT profile HFP. Only there is one difference, on the Apple site is written, the IOS 4.01 is supporting HFP 1.5.Are HFP (=headset) and HFP 1.5 (=iPhone) -backwards- compatible?When I try so pair the devices, notthing happens.
