Hello,I would like to ask if there is a way to type an SMS on my Mac and then send it with my iPhone connected via bluetooth, Wifi or cable ? Many other phone manufacturer offer a software suite to do so with their phones, and since OSX and the iPhone are from the same company I thought there must be an easy way to do so, but I couldnt find anything yet. BMW bluetooth Voice Dialling iPhone 3G

Hisorry I cant search the forums to see if this topic has been raised before at present. I have a 16g 3G iPhone updated with OS 3.0. Yesterday I took delivery of a new 3 seriesBMW with factory fitted bluetooth, and voice dialling functionality through the steering wheel. Although my phone pairs with the car and the phonebook updates the car phonebook I cannot get the in car voice dialing to work. When a number is entered correctly, and called up through the system it begins the call but the iPhone display shows unknown application and a big green Dismiss box and disconnects. On my old car (a 2005 3 series BMW) again fitted with their bluetooth the voice dialling worked perfectly - at least on the 3G not on the first gen though. It did accept incoming calls. I was led to believe from 2006 model BMW the full iPhone features worked. Has anyone any knowledge of similar problems? Is there a work around? Whos issue is it BMW or Apple? Or is it just something thats occured since the OS 3.0 update? I have e en today got the BMW Apple iPhone cradle for the car. Stereo bluetooth-no support for controls and other issues iPhone 3G

I have tried 2 stereo headsets now and both have the same issue. No controls other than Vol +/- are supported. Pause/Play doesnt work and > and < dont work. Its pretty clear that the 3.0 software doesnt support these functions.One Headset is the new Sony BT100CX. The other is Insignia.Are others getting the same results?I also get some bizarre results with the Stereo Headset, like no audio in one direction on a phone call. Then when I switched to iPhone from bluetooth and hung up, the call actually stayed open! Another time I connected to the Sony BT and got constant static.I spent a long time talking to a nice but not very knowledgeable gentleman at Apple Support who consulted an specialist. The specialist did not seem to know whether these controls are supported or not. It is bizarre that Apple is paying so little attention to bluetooth. Having waited years for decent bluetooth support, you would would think they would want to get it right when they finally put it in, but they leave out VERY valuable features. And they dont even seem to know that they left out these features. A simple pause in the iPhone in Ipod mode is a PITA. With the bluetooth stereo profile it should be easy. After updating today to 3.0 on my 3G, the bluetooth and WIFI is unavailable. When I updated, there was a problem which required me to Restore. After the restore, these items became unavailable. Bad bluetooth interruptions during phone calls iPhone

While driving car I’m using my iPhone 2G hands-free via bluetooth connection to my car stereo. Since recently (update to 3.0?) this bluetooth connection interrupts very often during calls. Some seconds after disconnecting it reconnects to interrupt again after a while. This is horrible for me and the caller as well! While not having calls the bluetooth connection seems to work fine.What can I do to change this behavior? With other phones the car stereo works very well. Ive upgraded to 3.0, and I cannot get the bluetooth Stereo to work under any circumstance. I have three BT earpieces, all that work with the same iPhone for phone calls, but nothing for BT stereo. Everything Ive read online says I just upgrade, pair, and the iPod screen has an audio selection option like the phone. But mine doesnt.Ive restarted the phone several times, paired and unpaired and paired all the BT devices again, done everything except restoring the phone and updating again, but I really dont want to have to do that.Any suggestions? Unpairing iPhone 3G

Im trying to unpair my iPhone 3G from a Parrot Minikit Slim bluetooth device but when I follow the recommended process of Settings / General / bluetooth / and select the device, theres no button labelled Unpair avaialble.Is this perhaps logically because with only one bluetooth device paired at the moment, theres strictly no need to unpair as such - in which case if I pair to a second bluetooth device presumably the Unpair button will appear to enable me to pair / unpair and switch between the two?Or is there something else Im missing?Many thanks for any help and guidance iPhone 3G iPhone OS 3.0

bluetooth A2DP not working with Philips SHB6100 Headset iPhone 3G

Im using an iPhone 3G with the 3.0 OS, and trying to get music over my bluetooth headphones. The phone connects to the headset fine (theyre paired, the icon flashes when the headset connects, etc), and the headset is reported as fully A2DP compliant.However, when I open the iPod app, the bluetooth icon does not show at the bottom like I expected from the various screenshots floating around... I simply get the old volume slider, and audio still comes only via the speakers or headphone jack.I have tried all the basic solutions - re-pairing the devices, turning things on and off, powering off the phone, etc. Nothing seems to happen.Is anyone else having the same problem? My iPhone 3G will not detect my Laptop properly

Hi all,I need some help. Im stuck Ive been working on this for days. Ive reloaded my bluetooth drivers and just dont know what to do. Ive got a Dell Studio 15 running Vista with SP2 installed. My iPhone is up to date and Im trying to hook up my iPhone via bluetooth to my computer.I am able to pair the two but Windows asks me for a bluetooth Peripheral Device Driver when hooking up my iPhone. Nothing I do will make it work, Ive tried searching my computer, the internet, updating my bluetooth drivers from Dells site (for the record I have a Dell Wireless 370 mini card for my bluetooth connection.) If I ignore the request (which I could do in the past) my pc and my iphone see one another in their list of bluetooth devices but if I go to my iphone and tap my PC to connect I get the pinwheel for a minute or two and then it just goes back to unconnected.This all started after updating to SP2 and iPhones version 3 software. I did both around the same time so I dont know what caused it. I found this to work VERY well, regardless of the This device was not designed to work with the iPhone message when u attach the dongle...A. MISSING FUNCTIONS1. The headset Next & Previous buttons no longer workBEFORE: I could move to the next/prev song by pressing the appropriate button on the Headset... didnt even have to touch the iphone. NOW: I have to activate the iphone screen, unlock the phone and then touch the next/prev button on the screen.2. Fast- forward/rewind no longer workBEFORE: Using the same buttons as above, you could get the song to play in 2X fast mode - great if you wanted to scan ahead, back to a place in a podcast or song.NOW: Not available at all.BUGTheres a VERY noticeable delay/gap in the music every so often now. Reverting Back Iphone From 3.0 3G

I am sure this has been posted many times but has anyone sucessfully reverted back to the old version. I have tried many times with different versions of iTunes, even tried Windows 7 RC 64-Bit to see if i could get back to the old version. Reason for this is that now when you go to the settings BOTH Wi-Fi and bluetooth are grayed about and cannot be used at all. Is anyone having to the same issues with this because I am pretty sure this was because i updated to 3.0 ?

iPhone 3G 3.0 lose wifi when using bluetooth

OK, I updated to the 3.0 software yesterday and now Im having a weird problem with my wifi when I use by bluetooth headset. Whenever I use my bluetooth headset on a call my wifi signal dies to the point where it wont connect anymore to the AP anymore. This only happens when the phone is using the bluetooth headset, once I change the audio source back to the phone or speaker the wifi signal comes right back to full bars. I have try hard rebooting and resetting the network setting but nothing has helped. Any thoughts? Custom Built PC

I know sometimes people come to forum to see feed back on everyones experience on updating to new firmware. I know I do. But typically only folks with bad experience post, so I thought I would post how my update went (Good - No Problems). 1st let me say that when I do updates thought iTunes, I do Download only, I dont Download and install. I then do the Install when it is finished.Here is my experience, which I posted on Facebook:My iPhone 3.0 update review (on a iPhone 3G) Im always a bit worried that something will go wrong when doing a major update like this, but all went well. Ill start with my complaint, and its more for AT&T. Please turn on the MMS. Cut/copy/paste - Oh thank you, thank you. And finally we have it. It works great. Spotlight Search - As far as I can tell, works as designed Voice Memos - Cool app, works as designed, You can do tweak the start and end points, but dont think you could cut out a middle section. I wish the update included the Voice Control that the 3GS had. Oh well Calendar improvements - looks good Stereo bluetooth - Not tested Auto Wifi login - Worked great this morning at Starbucks, downtown Houston in the Tunnel. Yes, Yes Notes Sync - I may need help on this one, I think you have to have Outlook, or Outlook Express to sync to a PC, which I dont use at home. Emailing Multiple pics - Yes, finally, no more emailing one pic at a time from my iPhone. I think there is a max. of five at a time. Dont know if I would try this on EDGE. I am having a problem with setting up my iPhone 3G with the bluetooth on my Mac Pro. When I finalize everything is show as paired but not connected. When I push the Mac Pro device name on my phone, it connects for 2 seconds (green light) then it turns red again. How I get .MOV movies off of iPhone onto my computer

Lightroom sees the iPhone and allows me to import iPhone photos to my computer no problem and very nice indeed. It does also give me a message that the .MOV movie files are not recognized as photographs and will not be imported. That is fine, I do not want movies in my still shots library.How do I get the movie files off of the iPhone and onto the computer. Can bluetooth do it? What is the process? Undesired tethering while syncing iPhone 3G

So it seems like im one of the lucky ones. Virgin mobile in Australia (on the Optus network) allow tethering and at no extra cost. It worked straight after my 3.0 update with a trivial amount of effort. Yay!My problem is that whenever i sync my phone with my Macbook Air tethering automatically starts (since i need to use the cable), even when i dont want it to. The only way i can see to stop this behaviour is to first turn tethering off in Settings, but that requires diving down through 3 layers of menu options, which is somewhat annoying.Anyone know how to quickly cancel tethering while connected to your computer via the cable without having to menu-dive?It would be nice if Apple provided some quick switches from the springboard for such things (im also thinking of Location Services here).Thanks in advance.note: i have no interest in using bluetooth tethering here for a number of reasons iPhone 3G iPhone OS 3.0

I was on Eastern Parkway and Buffalo Ave. Near the park, when I was talkin to my gf. The bluetooth connected fine and I cud hear everything. All of a sudden, the signal seemed to get crossed. I have the S9 headset and works well with the ipod on bluetooth. But for some reason, the signal got crossed and I couldnt hear her. I hung up and called again. It happened three times in that area. I had the S9 since it came out, right after the HT820 headset. I never had an issue and used it on more than 5 phones without problems. All I can think is, it interacts with the NYC radios, but not my Motorola HT1250 radio for my police dispatcher. Anyone had an issue? Someone hear other signals while on the phone or that overrided their phone and bluetooth reception? Mind everyone, the phone was in my pocket about 2 to 3 feet away. With the changes to the bluetooth profiles I think a lot of companies are going to be marketing their headsets to iPhone users.Right now the one set I am looking into is the Jabra Halo. It is nice looking, has numerus features and decent run time of 8 hours when listening to music or on a call. Just got brand new 09 dodge caliber with uconnect- bluetooth feature that us in the car. This was one of the reasons i bought 2 of these cars (one for hubby). I have read many posts and frustrations from various car owners with uconnect that after upgrading 3g os to 2.2, u can no longee use uonnect. It cycles over and over trying to download your contacts thru bluetooth and when it cant it shuts off the program. Can anyone tell me for sure if os 3.0 fixes this? Im curious to know, will the new Radio bluetooth work with any bluetooth device or are there specific requirements? A friend of mine somehow manage to get the 3.0 developers update. We tried to see if the bluetooth functionality would work with my cars bluetooth, to play music through. From my understanding, a selection button is suppose to appear to allow you to select a paired bluetooth device as your audio output. Well i never saw any kind of selection button. We checked to see if the phone was paired at all and it was. In the past while using my my own iphone there have been times where music would accidentally play through the bluetooth after hanging up on a call. HI,I just want to know, if it will be possible to connect an external GPS module via bluetooth (OS 3.0) to my iPhone!?Since TomTom announced that it will finish its navigation software, I would be happy to know if it can also connect to an alternative (external) GPS module.Back in the old days, with an Nokia mobile phone (on SymbianOS), it was possible to connect an external bluetooth module and to use it directly within TomTom mobile.This could be also interesting for iPhone 2G or iPod Touch users!Thank you PC Windows Vista

Order Failure iPhone

It took me about 15 minutes online to try and order a new 3GS phone.I entered all my personal info...name, address, social security number, dob...and entered my service plan and hardware choice.It told me to wait a while...and after about 5 minutes it came back with a server error. I tried re-cueing my order...re-entering the info ..and it dumped into a page to enter my Apple ID, to save my settings, which I did. It sent me another page to order a phone thru an Apple Store...but the New 3GS phone wasnt even listed!As unhappy as I am wasting time to order a phone I couldnt order..what happened to all my personal info?Also there was no privacy policy, as required by Federal Law, explaining how they protect my personal information. Parrot Minikit Object Push Profile and iPhone 3G-this work

Ive just discovered that the compatibility of my new Parrot Minikit with my iPhone 3G does not extend to sending my contacts to the Minikit or to setting up voice dialling. Apparently the phone needs to support bluetooth Object Push Profile (OPP).I did find this on the Apple original iPhone support forums and wondered if anyone here has successfully used this method with the iPhone 3G. .... I was told by parrot that if you have a second phone handy ( one that has OPP) go into the menu of the parrot while connected to the iphone then when you select add voicetags use the other phone to push the #. The trick is it thinks the iphone pushed it because it always disconnects from iphone before taking in the # from the bluetooth device. I was told you must be connected with the iphone first so it will remember the profile for the iphone.....I can obtain access to another phone that has OPP (its an O2 XDA IIs), so would like to give it a try.Thanks. iMac 20" Aluminium and Mac Pro 2008 Mac OS X (10.5.7)

IPhone 3G and number of bluetooth devices

Cant locate the answer, howm many bluetooth devices can the iphone be paired withat one time? I just upgraded from a blackberry and was able to have the MS Sync in my car paired for hands free in the car and a normal Plantronics bluetooth headset for outside the car. I have the Sync paired for the car, but cannot get the Plantronics paired IPHONE Other OS
