On Friday of last week my iphone 4S began to rapidly lose it's charge. By this I mean from 100% to 65% by 9:30 am, and completely dead by 2:30 in the afternoon. I turned off my location services and "killed" all the apps running and it did not change my rapid depletion. This morning I noticed my phone was warm to the touch and when I checked it my battery was down to 10% by 8:30 am and this was after having been at a 100% charge at 07:00 am. I turned my phone off completely at 8:30 and when I went to turn it back on I got no response, not even the picture of the battery that indicates it needs to be charged. So when I finished my work shift at 3:30 I put my phone on the charger and it has still yet to turn back on. Has any body heard or had an issue with this?
My iphone 4 powered off by itself while i was using it. I know it didnt go dead, becuause it had 40% battery left, It will not charge, and my lock button is broken. It will not come on at all when i plug in the charger. Can someone please help and tell me if there is anyway i can power it back on myself?
I just got the iphone 5 last month. I did an OS upgrade not too long ago. My phone seems to be draining very quickly. Twice I thought it was because some how, a number was called and I thought the line may have stayed open a good long time. Now I don't know. I mostly text, do no web surfing, ocassionally check my email. The past week I keep getting battery low message. Any thoughts/suggestions?
iphone battery is on 41% after 1 hour and 31 minutes usage, and 1 hour and 29 minutes standby. I've followed all of the battery saving tips, my wifi, Bluetooth, mail, siri, push notifications are off. My brightness is down, it's not a hardware problem as its been tested.
Good Afternoon, ive recently started up my own business fixing mobile phones - mostly cracked screens and chassis replacements. Just recently i thought id got a bargain on ebay regarding an iphone 4. It was described as working correctly, can make / receive calls and send texts etc but randomly locks up. Ive got the phone today, unfortunately its locked to the 3 network so ive got a micro sim on the way so I cant actually proceed further at this point. Although it did crash once on me when i tried to select language's etc - had to hold the home and power button down until it turned off. Ive read on the forums that this is a common fault, and can occur to any iphone - faulty or otherwise. And the main concensus seems to be to take it back to the store for a swap. My main question is - seeing how im likely to come across this fault again - is the fault software or hardware related? If its hardware related what circuit board is likely to be the culprit? If we could identify the problem then im sure I could just order the required part on ebay. The fact that apple havent recalled the iphone and that they will accept these faulty iphone's back and swap for new suggests to me its an easy fix - its just easier for the technicians to go in the store room and get a brand new one. Secondly ive just got another iphone 4 white - bought cheap as its totally dead. Tried a new battery and still nothing. Got a new dock / charging connector on the way - is it likely to be this at fault? Doesnt seem to be any sign of water damage, and it wasnt described as this on the ebay page. When id swapped the new battery over i tried to charge the phone ( to see if id fixed it ) and it got extremely hot - so i disconnected right away and left it to cool off. Whats likely to be the issue with that one? Thanks, and hope someone can help Adam
I've got an iphone 4 running iOS5 and I was wondering if I should upgrade to iOS6? Quite a few people seem to have had issues with lagging apps and battery drain. Has this been fixed now in subsequent updates or should I stay well clear? Finally, is there anything else I need to be aware of? Cheers!
Greetings, My i4 developed yet another problem in the series (previous issues concerned home button, power button and camera module)... Two nights ago, I had the phone plugged in the PC, in order to make backup, syncronize with iTunes, change music etc etc... It took around an hour, maybe hour and a half, and I was surprised to see that the battery (which was not even close to flat) reached only about 70%. Shortly after I unplugged the phone, the battery dropped to 50%. That night I forgot to plug it in again, and I spent the whole day yesterday saving the battery. Later that day, I got home and plugged it in immediately. 2 hours later, the battery was still on 14%. I left it "charging" for the whole night, just to find out that this morning, it was still on 14%. While checking emails and stuff, the indicator "jumped" to 16%, but then dropped to 10%. Now it shows 3% eventhough it's still connected to the computer. There is a battery indicator on the lock screen, which means that it doesn't refuse the charger, but somehow the battery refuses to be charged. The indicator in the upper right corner shows "plug in" symbol, as if it has been charged, not a "thunder" as if it's still charging. I tried cleaning both the dock connector and the cable, I tried different cables, I tried charging from the wall socket and from various PCs, but nothing seems to work. Everything else seems fine though. battery dead and needs replacing, or is it something more "fruttier"? Thank you!
My battery dies very fast and I have to charge it twice a day. I do not use it that much during the day.
should I drain the battery regularly?
Upgraded to new ios and my battery life has dropped 50%?
Hi everyone! I have an iphone 5 that was newly "remodeled" for tmobile. I was wondering if there was something wrong with my battery after a recent decline in performance. I am updated to the latest iOS and I recently restored all of my settings on my phone in an attempt to increase battery performance, leaving only wifi on location for weather. With my current usage and standby, do I have something to be concerned about? I know some individuals that have my usage and will have a standby time of over a day. Advice and opinions is very much appreciated.
Immediately upon "upgrading" the iOS, my phone's battery life was reduced by more than half. I restored as new and it didn't fix it. Apple then replaced it with a new phone that unfortunately is also running 6.1.4 and it's the same battery situation, possibly even worse than the last one. Seriously, if this persists, I'm going Droid when my contract is up. What good is any phone if you can't use it for more than a couple hours without having to plug in. Weak, Apple. Really, really weak. No wonder your stock is tanking. You're releasing garbage.
Hi people, I have an iphone 5 64 GB and of course all the newest software. In the recent days, it happened twice to me that the phone would suddenly switch of at around 13-15% battery! When I try to turn it on immedietaley, i will get the "empty battery"-symbol. However, after waiting for some 20-30 minutes, when i turn it on again, it will just work and display a battery of around 13-15% again. Very strange. Never had this behaviour at iphone 4 or 4s Any ideas? thanks
does apply replace battery for iphone 4 if its not under warranty and the iphone is a different color?

For the past two weeks I have been getting terrible battery life. This morning my battery charge dropped from 100% to 90% in 2 hours. I have tried double pressing and turning off apps, but that hasn't helped. How do I determine what is using up the battery?
After ios 6.1.3 my battery is getting worse!Yesterday I switched off my phone with 30-32% of battery, this mornig I switched on and the battery was 20%: during the night it lost about 10% of charge without using it!And another problem is the recharge of battery: now the battery recharge in about an hour from 5% to 100%, before the update was about 2,5-3 hours. What can I do?When will apple solve this problem with a new upgrade??
Hello! I live in Russia and love Apple very much, have many different products and never had any problems with them. And now I decided to buy a new iphone 5 and wasn't lucky. I bought it on 3.05.2013 in normal shop, then turned out that wi-fi and bluetooth are not working and the phone eats battery very fast. Shop doesn't want take it back, official services don't want to repair it for free, because it was made for USA. I really don't know what to do:( To buy android? Hope you can help me somehow, the best solution for me is to change it. Serial № of the phone: F17KF2E5DTTR; Part №: MD296LL/a; IMEI: 013428008469809. Thanks!
My iphone was completely submerged in water last night. I put it in rice. Everything seems to work properly. But there is what appears to be water under the iphone screen. In the very middle of the water, it is blue. What does thar mean? Will it go away? Can I help make it go away? Will my Apple insurance plan cover this? Please help!!
I have an iphone 5 and I love it. It can do so many great things, all except for one. The battery will lose about 20-30% charge when left idle for a while. For example: when I go to sleep at night, my charge is 50%. When I wake up, it is down to 31%. Is there a way to correct this issue besides closing all active apps?
Hello all, I did the 6.1.4 update , and ever since my battery drains SO fast.. Has anyone else been experiencing this issue commonly?
I have tried holding the 2 buttons to reset and nothing happens. The phone was on charge all night and only showed 1% battery so I turned it off and now it is non responsive. Please help!
How much will it cost to replace iphone4s battery ?
My iphone 5 is one month old and I cannot talk for 2 hours without my battery dying. It wasn't like this when I got the phone last month but in the last week - it won't hold any charge. My OLD iphone that is 2 years old has a longer battery life than this with tons of use. I have been turning ALL of the apps off (which i should not have to do with a one month old phone) and I still can;t get 2 hours of use without the battery dying on me. tI's starting to annoy me and if my battery is bad I just want to go get a new phone. Is anyone else having this issue or does anyone know how to check to see if my battery is bad? Any ideas is this can fixed? Thanks in advance for the help
how long should an I iphone battery last ? i just did a long bike ride with the gps on and it died in 6hours
Hello, Which mode uses most battery when the phone is on standby and on a wifi network and has 2G (EDGE) coverage.. 2G+wifi or just wifi? I believe it is 2G+wifi because when you put your phone to sleep, it turns off wifi leaving push connected through 2G which consumes very low power. If I have only wifi enabled, the phone can't turn off wifi otherwise it'd lose the push connection. Thanks.
Anyone? Seems like it doesn't stay charged as long as the iphone 4 did
I had a story about not charging iphone. PHcharge my iPhoneI insterday evening (Philippine Time). But it charged less than 1 second. It running out. I plug it anywhere but it not worked. I had to check the battery bar, i found that my iphone is depleted fast. I checked the LCI but it white. I tried anything:A. Charged for at least 15 minutesB. Turn on and off the iphone.C. Restart the iphone.D. Plug it to the computer. But it failed. I will need to seek repair on repair shops? I don't attempt to repair this iphone. I'm scared about this iphone is not charging. What I'm going to do? Sincerely,Treshan
Why does my battery die so quickly on my iphone 4?
I go on vacation tomorrow, to Egypt for a week. According to the weather it's currently 40 degree's! I will most likely listen to spoitfy (offline-mode) while lying in the sun, i will cover my iphone to keep it out of direct sunlight, however will it be safe? It's a brand new iphone and i'm worried i will destory the battery life or hardware or anything in general. Thanks.
Iam using iphone5 with ios 6.1.4. Iam in a little bit of tension that it consumes battery power a lot. While iam charging the application "battery Doctor" is being used. Iam very sad please help me to improve the battery usage
Something inside my phone moves and it is loud. I was told it was something with the hardware and it could be a lose battery. Has anyone else had this problem. This phone was replaced a month ago for another type of problem so there should be nothing wrong with it since the new phone came from an apple store.
I have lost count of how many times I have been away from my office, looked down at my phone, saw anywhere between 10-30% battery life, and then a few minutes later have my phone go into shutdown mode. This is absolutely RIDICULOUS and it needs to be fixed now! Has anyone from Apple responded to this? Any kind of timeline in place for 6.1.5? Any help or information would be greatly appreciated. This is driving me crazy! I'm tethered to my charger!!! Thanks!@dolfer
Is it safe to charge my iphone 5 on 40%? what i mean is, even though it is not on 20% below is it safe or good for the phone ? and is it safe if i unplug the iphone without being 100% on battery percentage?
what is the battery power of iphone 4s?
My iPhone5 has not updated to 6.1.4 and i wonder if this edition can stop the battery from drainning?
does wnyone know why my iphone 4S will not vibrate? it just stopped yesterday while i was in school!!
My iphone 5 battery drains a lot. After 42 minutes of usage, and 5 hours of standby it drops to 89%. I'm just wondering if thats normal. I was wondering, if theres a way I can completely restore my iphone. Like restore nothing back onto it, only my text messages and imessages cause those are really important.
Having issues with iOS 6.1.4 heating up (in standby) and high battery consumption in standby. It's not consistant but I will, sporatically, notice my phone warming up, in my pocket, to pull it out, turn the screen on and then off again and it'll cool down.battery consumption is also very high (worse than iOS 6.1 update issue) and is drained quickly. I've closed all active applications (but mail and calendar as I need for work) and still will occur.
My iphone 4s getting turns off, when I open camera and start taking snaps. This happens when my phone battery is below 50%. Can any one tell me what would be fix for this ?
My 4S iphone would not sync although it would charge when i connected it to my computer. I got help from an apple representative who walked me through syncing with icloud to get back my contacts. My phone wil not hold a charge since then. Apple diagnostic said the battery was perfect??
Hi,I am wondering if anyone else has seen this issue & can provide a fix or offer advice on why this is happening? I have an iphone 4s & very happy with is. However. when the battery % lever reaches 20% the phone 'switches' off - if I connect the charge cable the battery indicator says 1% & charging. Yet if I then hold the power button to swich the iphone on, it says 21% & charging. Any idea why this is happening & how I get the battery to show correct value. On an aside - it charges fine to 100% and iphone is overwise fine. Thanks, T
My iphone even won't response when i connect it to my computer even Itunes can not find him and i'm sure it's my iphone that has a problem and nog my usb charger

Hi Ive had iphone 5 since it came out, and recently this year, its been turning itself off with plenty of battery life and wont allow me to turn it back on until I have plugged it into wall charger to 'charge' it back up. When its plugged in, it returns to the battery level it was originaly at....30%, 50% for example. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Im going to do a iCloud and computer back up and restore firmware see if that helps?Chris
4S got run over by a car. I changed the broken display, functionality (sound, vibration, cameras, wireless, mobile data, emails and other notifications come in, I can here SIRI, etc.) is working (tested via cylay). battery always low and phone turns off pretty fast after unplugging from the charger. Plugged in it turns off itself after about five minutes and restarts immediately again + display doesn't work (sometimes gets bright but there appears no clear picture only some grey tones). It worked about three times though that the display was clear and I could use the phone for about five minutes before it lost its picture again. What could be broken?
FIX MY battery!!!!!! I had WIFI location services off, LTE , everything, didnt listen to music., had it in my pocket at work and it drained to 64 % with me doing NOTHING to it. I used to beOK with the whole battery dra. in talk cause it didnt happen to me. NOW ITS AWFUL!!!!! IPHONE5......LATEST UPDATE HORRIBLE battery LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!
Lately I've been turning off my phone and when I turn it back on battery is drained. Yesterday I turned it off at 80% and when I turned it back on 3 hours later it was at 62%. Then today I turned it off at 50% and when I turned it back on it was at 32%! Does anyone know why my iphone is losing battery even when it's completely powered off? I feel like it shouldn't be losing any battery at all
Hey guys, my iphone 5 was bought in December at Bestbuy. I just made an appointment at the Genius Bar and I wanted to ask some questions about the one year warranty included with the phone. My phone had been working fine for the past six months and it's never been treated harshly ( I've always kept a good case on it and a screen protector ) however yesterday my lock button stopped working... whenever I click it the phone does not respond to it. The phone is basically new when taken out of the case and the only reasonable explanation for this, in my opinion is a defect of manufacture that recently showed up. I'm wondering what will apple do when I take my phone in? Will they replace it for another? Attempt to fix it? Will any charges be present? And what should I bring just incase they decide to replace it ( ex. headphones, charger?) Thank you.
I have an iphone 5 64 GB running iOS 6.1.4 on AT&T. Over the past ~ three days, have noted that the iphone randomly "crashes". Could be when I am using an app. Could be when I am making a phone call. Could be when it is simply connected to the power cord and haven't touched it at all. The cycle is as follows: Screen suddenly goes blankThe white Apple logo (which typicaly appears during boot-up) appears for 3 - 5 secondsI hear the "chirp" that normally sounds at the end of boot-upThe iphone lock lock screen then appears Sometimes, when the phone emerges from lock screen, the brightness is about half of what it was prior. I have not been able to isolate this behavior to a specific set of circumstances. When it occurs during a phone call, the call is interrupted / other party is silenced, but if I swipe at lock screen, the call resumes (the other party notes that I went silent during duration). I have re-started / re-booted the iphone 15 times. I have cleared all apps from the cache. I have disabled all notifications and location services. I have done a Reset All Settings on iphone and restored from iCloud. I have done a Restore from iTunes. The problem continues. I would say that this crash cycle occurs about every 30 - 60 minutes. As noted, many times when I'm not even touching / using the iphone. Have also noted that when not connected to power supply, the iphone is quite warm, and battery drain is at an accelerated rate of 3x to 4x of "normal", worse than prior iOS 6 related battery issues. Have also tried all the usual battery saving tricks - wifi is off, GPS is off, EQ is off, etc. Any thoughts before I head to the Genius Bar? Thanks! TCF
