Hello everyone, I bought an iphone 5 (a14r9) from an Apple store in Germany in September 2012. My problem is that: My iphone's start/wake (power) button start not working since last two weeks, actually left side of the power button continued working a couple of days but yesterday it became fully broken. It does not react when I push on it. Suprisingly there were no problem with the device, no contact with water, no damage, just nothing.. and it is not working. I live in Turkey and I don't have the opportunity to give my phone to Apple, because there is not an Apple store in Turkey, currently. But I travel a lot, what I wonder is Can I take my phone to any Apple store in any country? I mean my phone's 1 year coverage still continued. App store reviews no longer displayed in reverse chronological order iphone 3G

When I search for an app in the app store and look at its customer reviews, they are in seemingly random order.  They always used to be displayed with the newest reviews at the top (reverse chronological order).  Now when I look at the customer reviews of the Google Maps app for example, the review listed first is from March 5, 2013.  A review from March 7, 2013 is posted below it.  I am sure there must be newer reviews than that for such a widely used app.  Today is May 17, 2013.  Why aren't the newest reviews displayed first anymore?

Facebook App not connecting with other apps. Help iphone 5

I recently changed my apple I.D. to a different e-mail address because the one I had was hacked. I recently went to the Apple store because my iCloud wasn't connecting and backing up my other stuff. So, they deleted the account and connected me to the account under my new e-mail. Everything is working fine. All of my stuff is still the same and nothing has changed. However, my Facebook app isn't working when I try to connect it to other apps such as Pinterest, Twitter, and Vine. When I go to my settings, and then to Facebook, it says "There was a problem accessing your account. Please reenter the password:". I have tried to enter my password multiple times and it doesn't work. I have tried my old password too, and still nothing. I changed my Facebook e-mail and password after my e-mail got hacked. I changed my Facebook e-mail when my e-mail got hacked, and I also changed my password. So, does anyone know what to do? I'm getting very frustrated.  Thanks, Jackie

iphone 4S keeps disconnecting WIFI frequently when in use

    My iphone suddenly began disconnecting frequently from my Access point like every 4 seconds, maybe every minute. it just disconnects randamly,i have had this issue for two days now . I restored my iphone to IOS 6.1.3 and yet the issue is still preserved , so i reset my router and my access point to their default setting and still the WIFI keeps on disconnecting. I even tested my iphone to connect to my Uncle's wifi access point and still it disconnects from it frequently.My iphone has never suffered any damage. it has never fallen on the ground and not even scratched.The disconnection here is not that the iphone disconnects from the wifi when i lock the phone but it's worse it disconnects when the phone is in use even if I am downloading something from the app store or streaming a video on youtube and then it will automatically reconnect again which is pretty annoying especially if i am using a VOIP service .i tried everything now and seems nothing helps. Is this a Hardware or a software problem ?, i would be glad to hear from other users that i am not the only one affected by it. I live in Egypt, is there Apple Support in here ?, Any suggestions will Greatly help me .

iphone app updates frozen in waiting-what to try next

Hi, I tried to update 3 apps on iphone 5 about a week ago. They got 'stuck' while updating, and now are permanently frozen showing a greyed out icon, and saying the status as 'installing.'  I have tried everything and need more suggestions.This is what I have tried:Restoring - no changeLogging off iTunes account, pressing home and lock button til apple icon appears, then logging back in - this changes the status to 'waiting' but it's still frozenHolding down icon to delete - it doesn't have cross above these 3 affected appsGone into -> General -> Usage -> then selected each affected app and Deleted them - no changePlugged into PC and synced, then tried removing apps and installing again - the icons aren't removed when I remove, but when I install them again, it does kickstart the icon to change to 'loading', but then it returns to 'installing' and is still frozenAdding a new app/ installing updates for other apps to check to see if iTunes account works - yes they added/ updated fineCalling Apple tech support. The guy was really nice and helpful, but his advice didn't work (as above.)  He told me to contact the iTunes account support, and ask them to delete the apps from my purchase history and then try re-installing themContacting the ITunes account support - they emailed me back, and advised me that they checked my download queue and "updates of these three apps are not there." (?) So they gave me the advice to do as above. He also sent me to this link: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1702 which at the last step says "If you continue to experience the issue, contact the developer of the application for further assistance."  Now, my issue is: How the heck do I contact the developer, and will this help, when it seems to clearly be an iphone problem? Should I give up and take the phone into an Apple store? Any other suggestions will help.  Cheers.

Hello, i purchased my iphone 5 about three months ago. I keep it in tip top shape with a top of the line case. Just yesterday my sleep/wake button quit working. It will push down but nothing happens when i do so. Apple's troubleshooting said to turn my phone off then on or to try restarting it. However, I can't do either of these things because the button doesnt work! Do i really have to go all the way to the apple store to get it fixed? And if so will they replace it for free? Thenk you!

iphone 4 randomly freezes-what hardware to swap

Good Afternoon, ive recently started up my own business fixing mobile phones - mostly cracked screens and chassis replacements. Just recently i thought id got a bargain on ebay regarding an iphone 4. It was described as working correctly, can make / receive calls and send texts etc but randomly locks up. Ive got the phone today, unfortunately its locked to the 3 network so ive got a micro sim on the way so I cant actually proceed further at this point.  Although it did crash once on me when i tried to select language's etc - had to hold the home and power button down until it turned off. Ive read on the forums that this is a common fault, and can occur to any iphone - faulty or otherwise.  And the main concensus seems to be to take it back to the store for a swap. My main question is - seeing how im likely to come across this fault again - is the fault software or hardware related? If its hardware related what circuit board is likely to be the culprit?  If we could identify the problem then im sure I could just order the required part on ebay. The fact that apple havent recalled the iphone and that they will accept these faulty iphone's back and swap for new suggests to me its an easy fix - its just easier for the technicians to go in the store room and get a brand new one. Secondly ive just got another iphone 4 white - bought cheap as its totally dead.  Tried a new battery and still nothing.  Got a new dock / charging connector on the way - is it likely to be this at fault?  Doesnt seem to be any sign of water damage, and it wasnt described as this on the ebay page. When id swapped the new battery over i tried to charge the phone ( to see if id fixed it ) and it got extremely hot - so i disconnected right away and left it to cool off. Whats likely to be the issue with that one? Thanks, and hope someone can help Adam

Long story short - went on a 15 mile bike ride with my iphone 4 stuck into my sportsbra - took it out to wipe it every so often, but moisture did get trapped in the case. Anyways, after the bike ride I went to Starbucks, phone was working fine. Pull phone out 2 minutes later - it has shut off. Nothing. Held home screen and lock button together, etc, nothing. Plugged into charger, nothing. I immediately ran to CVS, got rice, phone is in a cup of rice submerged as we speak. Am I screwed/should i go order a refurbished iphone at the Apple store tomorrow? Or will I maybe be in luck with leaving it in the rice overnight/until Friday? Any tips would be appreciated, thanks!!!

I can not hear music or hear ringing through it.When I turned to my carrier, in order that they will help me replace the malfunctioning speaker (device is still under the one year manufacturer's warranty) they told me that since this model is not sold in Israel, they can not fix it for me, and because we don't have an apple-store in Israel, I can't do nothing  I'd be happy if you could advise me what to do ( I want to use the manufacturer warranty that I deserve)  Thanks for the help Itay.s

Unfortunately, I could not find a discussion title about that topic. The subject is that I want to change my broken iphone 5 with a new one paying $220 and giving back to you mine. And my question is what am I required to do that in any apple store in US. Could you give me the details about like do I need to give back my iphone as the way I bought it I mean with all iphone stuff like charger and headphone.. etc. And the additional and important question is here, I need an official paper written by Apple, which says that the old iphone is changed with the new one (indicating the IMEI numbers of both) to use it in my country legally, because I have already payed tax amount for the old one and I registered with the old one so to make the new one active.In my country,then legislations say that each person has a right to register only one mobile phone in 2 years; so  I need to prove that the old one is given to back to  your side. Is that possible? If you can answer my all questions as soon as possible I will be glad becuase I will be in New York in a few weeks so I need to learn all details about the topic to be prepared. Thank you.

warranty after fall iphone 5

Dear All, I dropped my iphone a few months back and ever since it's been in a support case (I bought it 1 day after dropping the iphone 5 to the floor... how cruel can life be). I'm not worried about the dent in the upper right corner (power button). I'm more concerned about sound it makes when you shake it (it had this since day 4 already)... + the fact that the power button is not working anymore (even that I can overcome if needed).Nevertheless I'm worried about the warranty. I live in Europe (Belgium) and have to say that I'm completely disappointed in the service of the store where I bought my phone (an official apple reseller but not an apple store). With that said I rather know my options in terms of warranty other than asking it in the shop (cause they'll argue anyway). It's an official iphone, done nothing fishy with it (only shouldn't have dropped it )

iphone 5 won't wake up from sleepstandby

Hello, I am having a really strange problem with my iphone 5 for last 3-4 months. Sometime when i want to use my iphone from standby/sleep mode it dosent do anything! sleep/wake button, home button even silent/sound button dosent work. I know the silent/sound button dosen't work cause normally it vibrate when I turn it on. So the problem is my phone wont wake up from sleep/standby mode. The screen stays black and nothing works. If i press the home button and power button for 10-15 time very quickly, then it takes a screen shot and wakes up!! Sometime it stays in this stage for 5-10min. So here is what i did to solve the problem.1. I restore the phone from phone and ituens.2. I delete all icloud backup and started as a new phone3. I went to apple store and replace the phone with a new one!!4. I jailbreak it at last to see if it solve the problem!5. turn off the icloud to see if it works And sadly nothing of all this solved my problem! Now im not sure any specific app causing the problem but it almost impossible to find it out. So if anyone have any similar problem or any suggestion to solve it, then it will be really helpful.

My iphone 5 freezes EVERY time I try to open contact or addedit contact and freezes up pretty much on everything I .

My iphone 5 operates at about the speed of dial-up internet.  Every time I try to do something I have to wait. My harddrive is not even close to being full and I always close out of my programs so I am confused.  It is mainly a problem with contacts (adding, editing, viewing, anything). I also occasionally hardware reset (power and home button same time) to try and help but to no avail. Is this an Apple issue that a trip to the Apple store will take care of?  I am just sick and tired of having upgraded to an iphone 5 only to step backwards in speed and performance, plus switching over deleted over half of my contacts even though I had icloud set up on my 4 and also on my 5 so it should have been seamless.  Is my phone a lemon?

i have an iphone 4s , of course the warranty expired a little over a month ago. The slider mechanism does not work. I've tried turning the phone on and off, restored to factory settings. nothing seems to work. I've never dropped the phone or had any kind of water damage. I've  taken the phone to the Apple store. SO here's what happened,  I was texting a friend and listening to music on my iphone... Then all of a sudden I get this pop up notification that says "This adaptor is not supported" I didnt have my phone plugged in and then all of a sudden it turned off and will not start back up. Water Damage iphone 4S

On May 18, 2013: Yesterday my cousin and I tipped our canoe while on a river. We had our electronics in a ziploc bag which included my iphone 4S. We managed to save almost everything including the ziploc bag. We were stuck floating down the fast moving rapids for atleast 30 minutes keeping firm grip on everything. Once our fellow canoe group caught up with us we put everything in their canoe and made a pit stop. There we put the electronics out to dry (only a little bit of water got it). I managed to send one quick text out and tried hard to shut off the phone but it kept rebooting. When we got back to my grandma's house I investigated the iphone. It was on and working BUT the flash was stuck on and the power button didn't always work, water behind the lower part of the screen  I tried hard to turn it off but it just kept rebooting. With no rice I just layed it out in the sun for an hour.  About 2 hours later we rushed to the mall and went to the Apple store. They checked the status of the warranty and it just expired 5 days ago. Ugh.. So they just told us there was little they can do and they will replace it for $200.00. At this point I didn't want to give up. At the Apple store the iphone was having such a melt down. The Apple employee struggled to keep it on as it kept turning itself off (power button issue). Everything else was functional besides the back camera full of water vapour and LED light. About 3 hours after that I got home I put the phone in rice. I noticed the phone some how got into recovery mode.  Over night and about 24 hours later I took the phone out of the rice plugged into iTunes on my iMac. It was just on recovery mode asking me to recover it on iTunes. It wouldn't work because it kept going into UNKNOWN ERROR 2001 and UNKNOWN ERROR 2006. I read somewhere a fix can be putting it from recovery mode into DFU mode. But remember the power button isn't still working so it is impossible to go into that mode. I think I got it once but still had the same errors. I am not ready to give up. I know there is no such thing as minor water damage but it really does seem minor because everything was functional just the phone put itself into recovery mode with a messed up power button.  I'm asking what I should do now. I really don't want to spend $200 for another iphone 4S when the next generation iphone will come at what ever time. It seems pointless getting an old phone than a new one. I just want to be able to use this one until then. Thanks for reading my rants. Brady

I have lost my built in apps and do not know how to reinstall them on my phone.  The Safari and App store icons are gone.  I can no longer surf the net on my phone and the little "microphone" key has also disappeared when I send text messages etc.  I now have to actually type the message instead of speaking into my phone.  Siri has also vanished.  Any advice?

Crashing and screen flickering problems. iphone 4

I too have had the "flickering/flashing" screen problem...I received my first iphone 4 on release day (6/24); had no display issues until 3 days later, on 6/27. First occurred while on call in car; phone continued to work but display was black; had to do the two-button "hard restart" method to reboot phone. I was away on vacation for a week (not near an Apple store), and phone continued to have this issue at least once/day. It could be on any screen or app...had it occur on calendar, a game, the home screen, etc. It would begin flashing ~8 times, then go to a "lit up black" (not off but slightly and evenly lit up black). Sometimes it would be 75% black, w/ a whiter "band" across the top 25% of the display.I discovered that sometimes if I quickly hit the button on top while it was still flashing, I could "save it."I have videoed this (using my 3GS phone...now my wife's) a few times, and it also did it at the Genius Bar at my local Apple store last Friday (7/9) when I returned it. They saw it in-person, and watched one of my videos, and promptly gave me a replacement phone.However, the NEXT day, 7/10, my replacement iphone 4 has started to do a similar thing...no "flashing/flickering", just goes to the "lighter black" screen. First occurred when trying to open the calendar. I contacted Tech support and spoke to someone at Apple for ~1 hour, who said there have been NO reported display issues from others, and thought it perhaps was due to a corrupt "Restore from backup" file. She suggested that I do a regular restore (not from backup), but I have hesitated to do so yet, instead looking/waiting to see if others have had this issue, as I don't want to lose contact, texting & calendar info.She also said it was not good to perform the "hard restart" (two button) function very much... I eventually have tried the "slide to power off" across the top of the black screen, and phone turned off and could restart with just the single (upper) button. So the phone is ON...just display isn't...I am an AVID iphone user (have had the 2G, 3GS and now 4 model) for 2 1/2 years, and this won't make me "switch"...I just want it FIXED..!

Canadian iphone 5 in UK

Hello, I bought an iphone 5 from the Canadian Apple store a few months back. I have just got back to the UK and inserted my UK sim card. I'm on Giff Gaff (O2) I can still make and recieve calls and texts. But most of my apps aren't working. 299.00 damage fee b.s. iphone 4

I received a refurbished iphone 4 under the 1year apple warranty. My home/power button became stuck, so I went to the vzw store and was told that it was a manufacture defect. I received refurbished phone and sent other phone back. I got my bill and now they charging 299.00 for a damage fee, WHY???My phone has never been out of its case and I know it's not my fault that the button got stuck. iphone 5 home button issue.

Back in November, I got my iphone 5, and the day got it without even touching the home button, it was slightly pushed in, and by that I mean the home button slightly sinks in & It really bothers me. It was new brand out of the package, do you think if I will to the Apple store they would be able to help me? iphone 5 home button

A family member and I swapped iphone 5's a few days ago, and even before we switched I noticed that their home button was creaking when you applied some pressure to it. Not necessarily pressing down on it to wake up the screen or anything like that. Also, when i do fully press down on it, it feels inconsistent and makes those creaking noises. The phone was purchased in January so it's well within the standard 1 year warranty. Is this a problem any of you have experienced? I would like to know if this is worth going to the apple store for or just learning to live with. Thank you!

iphone 5 Dissatisfied

Bought an iphone 5 & after 13days the home button stopped responding. Got a replacement (probably a refurbished one) from Apple store. Now exactly 13days later the home button has started playing up again.

How to cla replacement for faulty phone iphone 5

I bought my iphone 5 from dubai. Now i am in India , and suddenly since yesterday the lock button of my phone is not working. I went to an apple authorized store and was told i can claim replacement only from the country i bought my phone from ! now what do i do ? i can't go back to dubai. Is there any other way i can replacement or fix this issue ?

Something rattling in my iphone 5 else have this problem

Something inside my phone moves and it is loud. I was told it was something with the hardware and it could be a lose battery. Has anyone else had this problem. This phone was replaced a month ago for another type of problem so there should be nothing wrong with it since the new phone came from an apple store.

iphone 5 Auto Brightness Switch Not Working

So I just upgraded my iphone 4 to an iphone 5 literally yesterday. Strange lil bugs I get, but... This is just freaking me out.  The phone had NO charge whatsoever when I opened it yesterday and tried to turn it on. Usually I get an iphone and its at almost full charge. Then the Brightness was already dimmed to almost nothing rather than being in the middle. I adjust the slider to light it up more and then hit the switch for Auto-Adjust Brightness... Nothing changed. At all. There's no brightness difference whether I have Auto-Adjust set to On or Off, and it's kinda hurting my eyes. Pleeeease tell me I didn't get sold a Refurbished iphone 5 as a New one at the Apple store?!
