Dont want to beat a proverbial dead horse, but what about making the IPhone 4 a better receiver of calls? My 3Gs was the BEST phone I ever owned. I rarely had a dropped call, I was able to make and receive calls in places where no phone I had owned previously could. When I read that this phone had the best reception of any IPhone (according to Apple) I went and made the switch. Yes, I read many posts where folks say just that, great phone. I am on IPhone 4 number three and all have been plagued with reception issues, thought the first two were worse than this one. I go to the same locations every day and the 3Gs sent and received calls remarkably better. Just sayin..... IPhone 4 Number 3 Mac OS X (10.4.7)
I have not yet tested the face time but I know it only works with Wi-Fi, will it get an update so i can use it over 3g, since I’m not always on Wi-Fi and need to make video calls. own configuration Windows 7 phenom II 955 x 4 - 3,2Gghz, 8Gb, x2 xfx 5870 1Gb DDR5, x2 Iph 4, x2 xperia x10
I was sitting at my desk, and my iphone was completely fine, and suddenly the screen said the temperature was off and i could only make emergency calls. i rebooted it and it was fine, again, and i realized i had a missed call. could that call have triggered a glitch?i googled this but i didnt get a lot of results. id like it if my phone didnt glitch so much - does anyone know the issue?thanks! iPhone 4 iOS 4
OK, so a few days ago I finally got around to upping to iOS 4.02. The next day, I started getting an abhorrent number of dropped calls, fail to connects, no internet service, the works. Mostly while driving, making this more annoying (the little bzzzzzzzz of a dropped call in my earpiece, not so fun.I am, in fact, in possession of a clue (as well as a degree in Information Systems), so I start troubleshooting on my own. Jumping into an out of Airplane mode (force to look for network) results in a temporary fix - as in, about 3 seconds of connectivity. Resetting ALL network settings seems to result in about the same. After three or four cycles of this, the phone drops service again, but displays a message saying that it was unable to make or recieve calls, and that I needed to preform a restore.Which I did. And it worked. For thirty seconds, and then I got the same message. So I restored. Again. Reset network settings again, just to be safe.It just dropped a call on me to my mother. Im going to have a lot of fun hearing about how I hung up on her, except that I have... you guessed it, No Service. No restore message though.Im using a silicone case, the phone is sitting on my desk now, wasnt touching it, let alone the antenna when any of this happened, using my headset actually, my wifes got 5 bars of tower even using the death grip, and so does my old 3G (work pays for it, so I have 3 AT&T lines) and Im less than a mile away from a tower, and we usually get really good service here. I dont think its an AT&T problem b/c my other lines are fine.Im out of suggestions. Anyone else seeing anything like this? iPhone 4 iOS 4 ?
Hi basically i have a contract with o2 but I am going to be in US for a few months and would like to use my iphone over there, however i know international calls over there will kill me. So can i get a sim from over there and use it? iOS 4
First of all, love the new phone. I have had a strange recurring problem, though. Every 3-4 days, my phone stops sending and receiving calls and txts, even though it has a full signal. I end up restarting the phone and it again begins working fine. Any ideas?
It seems like the microphone input level on my wifes iPhone 4 is too low. People have trouble hearing her during her calls. Using the headset, speakerphone, or Bluetooth doesnt increase the volume, nor does covering up the noise-cancelling input on the top. Using the voice recorder app, I used the same headset the same distance from my mouth to compare the meter volume against my 1st gen iPhone, and the input comes in at least 6dB lower. Is this a defective model that needs to be returned? Or is this expected as part of the new design? My wife says she cant use it as a phone, it may have to go back. It would be great if a future iOS update allowed us to adjust the input level. iPhone 4 iOS 4
My iPhone experience has been flawless! I ordered on 6/16 in the evening with no problem. Received a ship by 7/14 date and a deliver by 7/14-7/19 date. I received an email from Apple on Friday that the order had been released and tracked the package a couple of times over the holiday at my lakehouse for the holiday and received it today (7/6) in mid-afternoon. The sync process was seamless, everything came over. Using the phone around town today, taking photos, sending and receiving texts, and I have not had problem #1. No dropping calls, no damaged or colored screen, no missing iPhone when I opened the box. The process has been very well done and the iPhone is really outstanding. The screen presentation is amazing, the new form factor is much easier too handle than any of the previous versions. Given that I cant believe everyone writing in is hallucinating, or incompetent or worse, lying...I wonder how many have an excellent experience like I have? I, for one, say thanks Apple, great job and also have to extend condolences to those that seem to have less than a great experience. iPhone 4 iOS 4 iPad 32 Gb, MacBook Pro 13", Max OS X 10.6.4, Apple TV, Time Capsule

The one where you hear calls/listen to voicemail..that speaker.Okay, I got syrup in the speaker, & tried getting it out with my nail & then used a toothpick. I got all of the syrup out, but when I checked my voicemail right after that happened, you could barely hear anything. I also made a phone call, still couldnt hear. I can plug my headphones in & hear. This also happened to one of my old phones (PalmCentro) but I fixed it by pushing the speaker back out from behind. iPhone you cant do that, because theres no way to push it out. I think it got pushed back like my Centros speaker did. How do I fix this? windows iPhone OS 3.1.3
This has been happening for the last 3 days. I make or receive a call on my iPhone 4 and within seconds the party on the other line cannot hear me at all. I hear them perfectly but they cannot hear me. Sometimes it happens right away sometimes it takes several seconds but my voice completely drops out. This happens 50 to 80% of the time.Went to the apple store and they checked it by using the recorder app which worked fine and then by making a call which also worked fine. They did not perform any diagnostics. Im on the road all day and my business depends on my phone. I am now afraid to make calls for fear of the person on the other side losing me mid sentence or not hearing me at all. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. This happens whether Im on speaker, mic or bluetooth.I upgraded to the latest software on Sunday and to no avail. Am I alone? 32gb iPhone 4 4.0.2 software. I am hoping someone can help me. I have just upgraded from iphone 3G to an Iphone 4. When I am on a phone call my face will touch the screen and activate other calls or actions on my phone such as facebook and text messaging. My old 3G phone screen used to black out when on a call so this problem didnt happen. Is this what all iphone 4s do or is this a software issue?Any help would be awesome as I am loosing my mind with this. I Phone 4 iOS 4
Hi, Im new to the forums as of today. I had a 3G for a while, upgraded because of the OS4 issues (to a Samsung Galaxy) then went back and ordered an iPhone 4 instead because, well... I love the interface, apps, and my iTunes music that I was unable to port over. Not a fan of the mp3/computer interfacing of android phones, I think the sync stuff with iTunes is far more user friendly. But...onto my real issue/questionLong story short, I did like one feature from the Galaxy and that was to auto-reject a call with a filler text message such as Im driving or will call back, and I cant figure out how or if we can do this on an iPhone.Ive done some research on this and some google suggestions such as http://www.programmerfish.com/send-auto-sms-on-iphone-4/ say this feature is automatic on this phone since its an iPhone 4 but every time I double click the power button it just sends the call to voicemail with no such interface to send a reject message etc. Does anybody know what the deal is? Such a thing would be handy and I dont see why Apple wouldnt build this into these phones. Are these articles lying? iPhone 4 iOS 4
Hello all,I wanted to share a recent experience I had recently with my Iphone 4, since I have not been able to find a suitable customer service center to speak to. A letter of the situation will be sent to BBB and also Cupertino.About 2 weeks ago my Iphone 4 started malfunctioning, about 2 days after it turned off and never came back on. I went to the local ATT store and they could not help me but I had them forward my calls. They said I had to go the Apple store. The next day I went to the Apple store in Rancho Cucamonga and had a 2 hour wait. Once I finally got to the genius bar there was no attempt to fix the phone, I got the feeling they knew what was wrong and the fix was a new replacement on the spot. I was happy about that, all he did was swap the SIM cards and he said it would activate in a couple of hours.I left on a business trip, and after various calls with Apple and ATT they informed me that at the genius bar they had voided my SIM card instead of activating it. The only way to fix it was to go back to the Apple Store.Yesterday I visited the Apple Store in Brea, California. They informed me that the wait was about 24 hours to which I explained my situation and that all I needed was a new SIM card and re activation (it takes less than 5 Minutes). He said he couldnt help me and I told him that if had to wait that long it would be to return the phone, he said he would get his manager. The Manager turned out to be one of the most insensitive and unprofessional individual I have ever encountered. He did not cared to hear my situation and instructed me to take the next appointment at 6:10 pm the next day, I said I wanted to return the phone immediately. He said that the I would HAVE TO TAKE THE SAME APPOINTMENT TIME TO RETURN THE PHONE! I felt like exploding on him but my 5 year old daughter was next to me and wasnt worth it.I have an appointment tomorrow in Rancho to return the phone. Ive reactivated an old account with a previous carrier and even as I typed this on my Ipad I have such a bad taste for their customer service I feel sick to my stomach. Apple has great products but such arrogance will only make you lose more customers. IPad
I have had the iPhone 4 since the first day of availability. This phone compared to my old 3GS and the other 3GSs in my household is totally unreliable. I waited to get a bumper thinking that would help. No change. I got a Otterbox which completely isolates the phone. No change. I took the phone to AT&T and they said go to Apple. Apple said my phone was fine but offered to reload all the SW. No change. In my home I have a AT&T Micro Cell. All my 3GS phone work fine. My iPhone 4 is full of static and dropped calls. The phone is performing like a cheap knock off. I wrote Apple but no response. Apple needs to figure out what is going on and fix these phones. I am stuck with an expensive AT&T plan and a phone that is so unreliable, I find myself not even using it. When is Apple going to address these problems. This is not an antenna problem that a bumper will fix.If this has had a lot of discussion, I apologize for bring it up again, but I am frustrated. A colleague who has been an Apple advocate just told me he switched from a 3GS to a Droid. He suggested that I go to AT&T and buy a cheap phone that works. That has prompted me to realize that I should not be paying for a phone that just does not work. And when I say it does not work, if I can not count on it reliably, it is useless. Apple....Step up! iPhone 4 iOS 4
I upgraded to 4.0.2 a couple of days ago and since then I have dropped 7 calls. In the entire month and a half leading up to this I dropped 2 and 1 of those was my fault (covered up the lower left corner before I knew better). I spoke with my wife and a couple of friends and every one of them has also noticed this problem. Now I want to know if everyone else has noticed this or is it just a local thing (Jenison/Grand Rapids MI area). As a side note my batter drains a heck of a lot faster since I upgraded as well. All entries in the address book have phones with the area code prepended. Just the area code, not including the 0 before the area code to identify it.When the iPhone dials a number this way, ZXNXXXXXXX (asterisk format), the carrier replies an error message informing the number is wrong. Both TIM and Claro do that. If an 0 is dialed before the Z, then the call goes through. Adding the 0 to the number is not an option, for it will mess when roaming abroad. The Motorola, K1, V3 and DEXT (Android - Cliq in the USA), knows how to dial calls without the preceding 0.Is there a fix to this problem? Thanks iPhone 3Gs iOS 4 IOS 4.0.1 MacBook Pro OS 10.5.8

Im thinking of purchasing an Iphone 4G, but Im not old enough to apply for a contract, so theres no way of me being able to phone anyone. My question is if its possible for me to:1) Purchase an Iphone 4G with a No Term, meaning no contract.2) Then insert a Pay & Go Sim Card, which will allow me to pay a certain amount of money on it when ever i want, & then use my phone for calls, etc... until the money runs out? Will this allow me to access the internet & call other phones? Thanks!Additional DetailsOne little detail. I might buy the phone in Germany and use it in Canada... Will the Pay and go sim work?
Ive been experiencing dropped calls. Last night, on 3G, Wifi, and E, my calls dropped 18 times in one hour. I am beginning to think this has nothing to do with AT&T. Even when I called 611, during calls, my call drops. And the interesting thing is: this happens on full bars (reception) on all three network (3G, E, and Wifi).Anyone experiencing the same? iPhone 4 iOS 4
Apple - come on just give me the downgrade software to 3.1.3 for my 3G iphone -and stop beating about the bush!I having no end of problems with my iphone shutting down for no reason at all, cannot answer calls due to sluggish response. Its the end of a wonderful day and I just got off the phone with Apple. Evidently the window closed to get your bumper for the new iPhone4 on 23 August... frustrated to say the least. I wish I had never purchased this phone. So here we are with two $300 cell phones (and a high monthly cell phone bill) that drops calls like a hot potato... The iPhone4 bumper MC59ZM/A is a total mismatch to the iPhone. In order to sync or recharge the phone you have to remove the bumper each time an unacceptable solution to preventing dropped calls. It seems to me a redesign and new offering to iPhone4 customers is mandatory. It is like getting undressed each time you want to sync and recharge the phone. What unnecessary motions and a waste of time to carry out when a properly designed bumper would not require undressing and redressing the iPhone. iphone4 iOS 4
Hello Apple,Apple cancelled my order, without even an email. Everyday I log in my account to check the order status, suddenly they cancelled my order. I called them, the representative answered sorry we will refund you in 2 to 3 days I asked her TELL ME WHY she said in two days you will get your money and again I said SAY WHY NOT WHEN she said we have CRACKING SOME F NUTS* apple sir .. You normally receive phone calls on your IPhone 4 while driving everyday on busy roads. There might be a situation where you want to make note of a particular name/number for call back. Stopping the car or finding a pen or paper to write that particular number while driving might be all unsafe & cumbersome. Is there any way to press a key/button on your phone & you can save only that particular number for call back reference. I understand that you have a list of recent calls but imagine if you received nines or ten calls one after the other (it is not unusual for a busy businessman!) and you did not make note of that particular number to call back when you are finished with your driving, it would cause frustration. It would be even more frustrating to call back all those ten numbers from your recent list just to find out your particular number of interest. Any easy & quick solution please? Hi Support (and fellow users)I am trying to unlock on iPhone 3G which I purchased two years ago on a bill pay account with o2 Ireland. About a year ago I upgraded to an iPhone 3GS also purchased on my bill pay account with o2 Ireland - this has been successfully unlocked. Approximately a week ago I ported to Vodafone Ireland and purchased an iPhone 4 on bill pay. Just before porting to Vodafone Ireland I reqeusted that o2 Ireland unlock my iPhone 3G and received an sms message from o2 Ireland saying o2 have submitted your unlock reqeust for iPhone IMEI xxx to Apple. Apple should unlock the devide via iTunes within the next two weeks. o2. My previous unlock expreience on the 3GS took approximately 24 hours so after a few days I plugged in my 3G to see if there was any movement from Apple. However, when I plug it in it just says Awaiting activiation, this may take some time. I have tried it with a Vodafone sim card but it wont work. I am wondering if my iPhone 3G has been blocked by Apple perhaps?Any advice? Dell Inspiron 6000 Windows XP
I have a Nuvelli bluetooth stereo headset with microphone. The headset works great for listening to music on my iPhone. However, I noticed that the microphone part of it doesnt work when paired the iPhone: a caller cant hear me, and I cant record a voice memo. So, the stereo audio receiving works, but the iPhone wont recognize that the device has a microphone as well. In IPhone 4, it is possible to delete or keep a particular message in your Messages list. This function does not appear to be possible when it comes to delete a particular phone number in your Recent calls list. The only given option is to delete all recent calls. Even if you go in the Info page of a particular caller, it does not give you an option to delete that number. It is very normal and rather desirable to keep some important numbers in your recent calls list for future reference and delete the numbers you dont want. This deletion process for the individual numbers in your Recent List would help to remove the clutter of unnecessary calls & therefore extra burden on the phone resources. Anyone else having issues with the phone constantly (yet, intermittently) trying to tether? I keep seeing the spinning wheel in the General>Network settings next to the button that you normally would press to Enable Tethering. I cant help but feel this is a software issue. It seems to be affecting battery life, to the extent that I had the phone with me all day and managed to bring the battery to 65% between 7am and 5:30 pm despite only 2 minutes of calls, 20 minutes with apps that I would expect could drain a battery, no facetime, 3 photos taken, 10 minutes viewing photos, and approximately 5MB of data use (mainly e-mail and a few manual facebook updates). Also, I had the 3G turned off most of the day. Doesnt seem like stellar results to me given my light usage.Any shared experiences? MacBook C2D 2GHz (White), Titanium G4 1GHz, iBook Rev. I live in Sydney, Australia.Just received an iPhone 4 16GB on Friday by courier from Optus (Australia).Set it up earlier this evening, and started testing it. Have had some immediate problems, whether making or receiving a call, I am not able to hear the person at the other end. They can hear my voice clearly, but I can’t hear theirs. As if the ear piece is completely dead. This happened on about 5 test calls from my iPhone 4 to another iPhone 3G with Optus, and to a landline number.Suddenly, however the ear piece started working on the 6th test call, and I could hear the person on the other end - TOTALLY RANDOM!Can anyone please comment if they have had a similar experience.I will definitely return the phone if this problem continues and take up the 10 day cooling off period that Optus offers. So far I rate the iPhone 4 a ZERO… worst product Apple have ever released. Fingers crossed if this is a bug, and can be easily fixed with a software update.Message was edited by: outsideworld MBP 13" Mac OS X (10.6.2)
I have been thinking about upgrading to the iPhone 4. I currently have a 3G. My question is will I still be able to use my 3G not in the capacity making calls but turning it into a glorified iPod Touch? Nothing is currently wrong with the phone, just think its time to upgrade? My other question, has anyone tried this yet? I would like to know if it is worth the $199 upgrade. Yesterday I had a problem dialing. My calls appeared to dial correctly, but NO connection resulted after trying 3 or 4 different numbers. No ringing tone was heard even though the phone said it was dialing. I was starting to think there was a network problem. Finally in desperation, I did a reboot (not the reset with the home button AND the top button.) Just the top button to shut the phone down completely and then an immediate restart. After that the phone dialed correctly. Im going to stick with present phone unless this becomes a frequent deal, but this new IP4 is starting to torque me off a bit. I would think this problem is strictly Apple and has NOTHING to do with ATT. MB Pro 15-21.5 iMac Mac OS X (10.6) IT 8GB--IP 4 32GB--Nano 16GB
Good morning fellow Apple Discussion Users,I would like to know if anyone else has had the same problem with getting help from Apple on the iPhone 4 antenna issue, and if so what was it that you were able to do to get the problem fixed. Please read my situation below and let me know if there is anything you think that might help.Thank you.On Friday the 13th of August 2010 I drove an hour to the nearest Apple retail store that had the iPhone 4 32 GB in stock and purchased my first iPhone. Although it isnt too significant to my experience please keep in mind that in the past four to five years I have been a loyal customer to Apple by purchasing three MacBook Pros, two iPod Touches, one iPod Video, and subscribing to MobileMe.When I arrived at the Apple retail store I spoke with an Apple iPhone specialist and asked him if the iPhone 4 antenna problem been resolved yet. He replied that it has and that Apple has started a free iPhone 4 case program as the solution. I asked him to show me what cases I would have to choose from and he replied saying that they do not carry any cases at all in the store because corporate needed all the case inventory to distribute to those that need it. The iPhone specialist then explained to me that I would need to download the free case App. from the App. store and follow the directions. So, after spending thirty dollars more than what I had already projected to purchase the iPhone for, I went home and synced my new iPhone with my iTunes account and updated my iPhone to ISO 4.0.2. I then proceeded to load the free iPhone case program. I then chose the case I wanted and completed my order. I then received my order confirmation by email, which said that the case wouldnt be shipped until September 14, 2010. This didnt bother me because the case was free and I had already put screen protectors on my iPhone and didnt really see the need for a case right now anyways. However, after using the iPhone Saturday and today and experiencing bad reception and dropped calls I became quite irritated, as I never experienced this with my previous wireless carriers that I have used in my same current coverage area. I even checked AT&Ts coverage map and it listed my area of having full support and coverage of both data and voice. It was then made clear to me that the issues I was having was related to Apples iPhone 4 antenna problem, so I decided to call them about this and to see what they can do about getting this resolved because there is no way that I should have to wait close to a month for a case to resolve the issue while spending money on my service plan for crappy service due to an Apple defect.I spent over an hour speaking with two different Apple customer service agents and I had three dropped calls during this period. I asked them if there was anyway to just give me a credit of the retail value for the case I picked and then cancel my free case order, so that I may go purchase a case at AT&T now and fix the problem I am having with my iPhone. After the second time of having my phone call dropped I had to call them back myself and ended up talking to someone different than before. This gentleman had informed me that they had cancelled my free case order, but can not give me any type of credit or rebate for a case, so that I can go purchase one. He then had his supervisor get on the line with us.As you can imagine, this really ticked me off! So, not only did they cancel my order for the free case without my consent, but now they are telling me that there is nothing they can do to help me except to restart my original order and to wait until it is delivered to me to fix the iPhone antenna problem. I explained to them how unprofessional and inappropriate it is to have to make a customer of theirs let a lone a very loyal one have to wait for almost a month for a case in order to fix a defect that is their fault, but yet there are stores that have iPhone 4 cases in stock that could fix the problem right away. They of course didnt care and continued to tell me that there isnt anything they can do to help. I then proceeded to ask them if a $25.00 case/credit/rebate is worth losing a loyal customer and $360.00, as I will be returning the iPhone 4 if they are unwilling to fix the problem thus making me have to go out and spend my own money to fix the issue myself in order to have a functioning iPhone. Their response was more of the same that they offer a free case and that I would just have to wait and what I decide to do is my decision to make. So, it seems to me that Apple really doesnt care if they lose a customer or a loyal one for that matter. I then proceeded to call and speak with an Apple Care agent and of course there wasnt anything that the gentleman I talked to could do, but at least he was understanding of reason and also agreed that the whole iPhone case program is flawed and adds to the problem more so than it does to fix it. After speaking with the Apple Care agent we agreed that once Apple realized the solution to the antenna defect that anyone who was to buy an iPhone 4 should have been given a bumper or case at the same time as they purchased their iPhone. Ok, so you may not have a choice in what model you get or color, but if its free and it fixes the defect immediately then who cares, I know I dont.I would much rather sport a hot pink band of rubber around my iPhone if that meant I would not have dropped calls or bad call reception when I am in a fully covered area. Then when I had the ability to do so I would buy a replacement of my choice. Its not like Apple is offering any free cases that I would personally buy for my iPhone if I had the choice to do so anyways. Well, I decided it would be in my best interest to first go out and spend my own money for a case to see if that in fact solves the problem before spending the gas and time to drive back to the Apple store to return the iPhone, which I would then have to wait for the credit to post on my credit card account. Not to mention cancel my new account with AT&T and be without both a phone and service until I received my credit to buy a new phone.I would like to know what everyone else feels about what I had to say about my experience with Apple today. I personally think Apple needs to get their act together and priorities straight.Thanx,AMMOCAN MacBook Pro 5,3-2.8, 4 GB RAM MacBook Pro 4,1-2.5, 4 GB RAM Mac OS X (10.6.4) Black Satin MBP Speck Cover; 23" Dell SP2309W LCD Flat Panel IPhone 4
Hey Guys, I am experiencing this problem from 2 months now.. My 3G is on to me and I can use apps but if someone calls or texts, my iPhone doenst show it untill unless it is resetted.. When that happens, I cannot text anyone and neither my internet works.. Anyone else eith this problem and any solutions? I am running 3.1.2.. 3G iPhone OS 3.1.2
I recently upgrade software on my iPhone 3G to the new version 4 software. iTunes says its software version 4.0.2. Im so frustrated. I think its the software because immediately after I installed it is when I started noticing the problem. The problem lies with answering the phone or making calls. Im sure everyone knows that when you make a call, you can pull the phone away from your face and you have 6 buttons, i.e. mute, contacts, keypad, speaker, etc. And of course the hang up button on the bottom. Well I just did some experiments with it so I can better explain and maybe someone has experienced this or can help to solve it.I make a phone call to someone and as long as I hold the phone in front of my face so I can visibly see it, the screen stays visible. I see the background image and the 6 buttons as well as the red hang up button. As soon as I put the phone up to my ear to talk, the screen backlight goes off and the screen is black (which is normal). The only problem is that when I pull the phone away from me ear anytime after the backlight has went off, the screen will NOT come back on. So I cant pull the phone away from my ear to turn on the speaker. I cant access my contacts to give someone a number. I cant even pull the phone away to be able to hang up the call. All I can do is just push the lock key on the top of the phone to end the call. It is really frustrating, especially when you need to use the keypad, like if you call your credit card company or something and you have to enter numbers. Its just very frustrating. Is anyone else having this problem? Are there any more flaws that others are finding with this new software on the 3G? Does anyone know a fix for this? iPhone 3G iOS 4 8GB, Model MB046LL; Serial 880080P3Y7H
I have 3G Ver 3.1.3. I have a password on my phone. When someone calls, the phone will ring, I can answer and it starts showing the call duration, but either I cant hear the party who called, they cant hear me, or both. This doesnt happen all the time, but more often now then not. I believe it only happens when the phone is locked. If someone calls when Im using it, then I can answer calls without any problems. Any ideas what would cause this? iPhone 3G iPhone OS 3.1.3
Hi,Am I missing something? It seems like the only way to get incoming text messages to vibrate (without a tone) is to turn the entire phone to silent mode. What Id like is incoming calls to be vibrate + tone, and incoming SMS to be only vibrate.Surely this has to be possible? Thanks,Dave iPhone 4 iOS 4
Let me first mention, for the most part, I absolutely love the iPhone 4. I previously owned the 3G and 3GS. But Ive dropped more calls with the iPhone 4 that I have with the previous versions (3G & 3GS). The whole reason I switched to AT&T five years ago, is that there is a cell tower not more than one block away from me (I can look out my window and see it), I remember about a year ago there was a problem with the iphone 3G phone dropping calls when you are on 3G network, I never had that problem. And on my previous iPhones I always had full signal strength no matter where I was in the house and almost never dropped a call. I know in the version 4.0.1 it changed how it calculates the signal strength, now I only get three bars at best. As I mentioned I live next to the cell tower, seriously I should not have this problem! Of course I got numerous other problems with the new iOS 4.0.1, same problem everyone else been experiencing on this discussion board (syncing with Microsoft exchange, Bluetooth, and devices not being recognized, etc). Until Apple fixes these problems, hopefully it’s a software fix. I would like to switch back to my iPhone 3G, but I upgraded it to iOS 4, and would like to go back to 3.1.2. “It worked”. Ive read various different articles on how to do it, but have been unsuccessful in doing it. Any suggestions? 3G iOS 4 Downgrade to version 3.1.2
My wife has an iPhone 3g on o2, it has started to act on its own (opening applications and making phone calls). If for instance it open the calculator on its own you can actually see it type the numbers, has anyone had this problem. It started doing this before I upgraded to OS4, I thought this might cure it but it hasnt. Please can anyone help? MacBook Pro Mac OS X (10.6.4)
