way to recover data was not backed up from my iPhone 5
Today I completed a software update for my iPhone 5 without backing it up because I did not receive a warning that all my data would be erased and so, did not realize it would be an issue. Upon completing the update, I realized my mistake but figured it was too late to revert the damage and continued with the restoration of my phone to its factory settings. After completing the update, I realized just how much data was lost (including important notes with financial information and images and videos of recent trips around Europe). Now I am desperate to try to recover the data deleted in the update. Is there any chance at all that I can recover something? The notes and videos are most important to me. I am also missing many Messages but that is less important to me. Can anyone please help? Any response is greatly appreciated!
Crashing and screen flickering problems. iPhone 4
I too have had the "flickering/flashing" screen problem...I received my first iPhone 4 on release day (6/24); had no display issues until 3 days later, on 6/27. First occurred while on call in car; phone continued to work but display was black; had to do the two-button "hard restart" method to reboot phone. I was away on vacation for a week (not near an Apple Store), and phone continued to have this issue at least once/day. It could be on any screen or app...had it occur on calendar, a game, the home screen, etc. It would begin flashing ~8 times, then go to a "lit up black" (not off but slightly and evenly lit up black). Sometimes it would be 75% black, w/ a whiter "band" across the top 25% of the display.I discovered that sometimes if I quickly hit the button on top while it was still flashing, I could "save it."I have videoed this (using my 3GS phone...now my wife's) a few times, and it also did it at the Genius Bar at my local Apple Store last Friday (7/9) when I returned it. They saw it in-person, and watched one of my videos, and promptly gave me a replacement phone.However, the NEXT day, 7/10, my replacement iPhone 4 has started to do a similar thing...no "flashing/flickering", just goes to the "lighter black" screen. First occurred when trying to open the calendar. I contacted Tech support and spoke to someone at Apple for ~1 hour, who said there have been NO reported display issues from others, and thought it perhaps was due to a corrupt "Restore from backup" file. She suggested that I do a regular restore (not from backup), but I have hesitated to do so yet, instead looking/waiting to see if others have had this issue, as I don't want to lose contact, texting & calendar info.She also said it was not good to perform the "hard restart" (two button) function very much... I eventually have tried the "slide to power off" across the top of the black screen, and phone turned off and could restart with just the single (upper) button. So the phone is ON...just display isn't...I am an AVID iPhone user (have had the 2G, 3GS and now 4 model) for 2 1/2 years, and this won't make me "switch"...I just want it FIXED..!

i have just had my iphone 4s lcd repaired and black spots are on screeen
i recently dropped my iphone4s,screen didnt smash or marked but wouldn't light up,made all the right sounds.took it to be repaired at local mobile shop and they sent it away to have new lcd and digitizer replaced. I got it marked and noticed home button had dropped then 5/6 days later 3 black marks/spots appeared on the bottom right hand side of screen??? returned to shop and engineer is refusing to repair as saying i damaged phone......I havent done anything apart from use it as it should be.can anyone shed some light as to why this is happening? many thanks

iTunes cannot find update server iPhone 4
After months and months of not being able to update my iPhone 4 to the new technology due to storage usage, i was finally able to. Now after two hours of waiting, my phone says it was verifying the update. My phone turned off and then turned back on and i got the plug into iTunes icon. After i plugged it in it says that the iPhone update server cannot be found.

Iphone 5 invalid S Error
I left my iphone 5 on my night stand over night and when I woke up, the phone said SIM FAILURE and instead of the carrier name it said invalid SIM.I tried re-booting and it didnt work, then I took the sim out and placed it back in again and it still didnt work, so I restored my iphone and it still doesnt work and now I cant even enter the phone since you need a working sim card to activate it HELP ME PLEASE!!

Hello everyone! I've got a problem with my iPhone 4S and I hope someone here can give me a hint on how to fix this... Last year in March I was on vacation in Las Vegas (I live in Austria/Europe) and bought a new unlocked iPhone 4S GSM in the Apple Store in the Forum Shops in Las Vegas including AppleCare+ (I just learned that iPhones can only be serviced in the Country where they are bought - my bad). Lately I was browsing through my Apple support profile and noticed that my iPhone was not registered there. So I tried to enter the serial number of the device and got this message:We're sorry, but this is a serial number for a product that has been replaced. Please check your information and re-enter your serial number. If your information is correct, you may need to contact us. I knew this could not be true so I called Apple Care here in Austria and first I was told that - according to its serial number - my iPhone has been replaced, and that it never should have been sold. I also was told that I have no chance of getting any service for this device despite the Care Protection Plan because the device is invalid due to its status as "replaced". And last but not least I was told that I could never receive any service for this device because American devices cannot be repaired in Europe (I was not aware of this fact and would have expected the salesperson in the Apple Store to tell me because I definitely told him that I am from Austria). Meanwhile I wrote an email to the store where I bought the iPhone from but it's two days now and I have not received an answer (or any indication that my email was received) yet. How I get my outgoing server to work on my Iphone 5
I bought my Iphone 5 from Apple when it was first available. I have had an ATT acount for many years along with an MSN email account. I have had issues with sending email from my IPhone 5 since I have recieved this phone. I have deleted and readded the email application numberous times(sometimes 10 times a day), I have reset my phone a number of times, I have also changed my email password a number of times and readded to both my incoming server and outgoing server passwords. I have spoken to ATT tech support, Apple Tech support and Msn tech support multiple times, they have not been able to help me. I sometimes have gotten it to work for a few minutes to a couple of hours but as soon as I try to send an email from my phone again it will no longer send an email from my phone. I use my phone for work and this is very annoying as I have to use my email for work.I need help! I have had Iphones since the first Iphone and Mac computers for over 10 years but I am now over it, at this point I would not recommend Iphones. I am now at the point of buying a phone that I can use and it will not be an Apple Iphone.

Hi there, Im scott, I dont own an iphone so know nothing whatsoever about them. this is our issue pls help : My sister purchased an iphone 4 from a woman at her work. Her husband upgraded to iphone 5 so sold his old one to my sister. My sister currently has a blackberry on contract to virgin media here in England. She took her BB along with her new iphhone to a local phone shop They cut her simcard down to size and put it into the iphone. When we turned it on we got this message 'only compatible sim cards from a support carrier....... ' I called our current contract to exdplain what we were intending to do and swap settings from a blackberry to her new iphone... they said we needed to contact the original service provider... here lies our issue. My sister works as a nurse.. she called her collgue to explain all this and ask what network he was on. She doesnot kno and her husband isnt home for another cpl weeks he is military. My sister doesnt want to wait a few weeks to use her new phone. Is there anyway to unlock and activate this phone giving all the detials of the phone and confirmation from his wife regarding the new user ? Ive read on the internet about jailbraking and all that nonsense.. but i dont want to damage the phone.. It isnt stolen isnt lost sureley i dont have to 'hack' into a perfectly legitimate phone to use do i? I ordered a new unlocked iphone trough the Apple store, but it arrived damaged. The outside had everything ok, but as soon as I grabbed it I noticed that there was something loose inside the phone it also made noises. So I returned it back in to the box and mailed it back. It’s been a week since I returned it and I haven´t received any mails. Also there was no charge in my credit card. Will I get a new iphone or what will happen?

Haven't had my iPhone for long (around November for my birthday) and for about the last couple of weeks recently I have had major trouble with the battery charge. At first I thought it was the cables, so I got new one after new one and they'd work but then stop working. Until the last one I just purchased, it pretty much stopped charging the phone straight away. No lightening or sound response, no connection via computer etc. So, when my charge ran out I still had it plugged into my computer and now my phone only chargers when it's off when it's plugged into a USB port (bear in mind, it doesn't connect to iTunes-it says USB is unrecognized although it still chargers the phone when off). However, it charges fairly quickly when off but when in use the charge diminishes just as quick as it takes to charge. Not only that but now whenever I wish to turn my iPhone off, it turns itself back on. I have recently sent off my phone to the Apple store to have it checked over and it came back to me saying they couldn't reproduce the symptons I had mentioned so there was me thinking everything was fine but nope, still faulty. So a bit disappointed with paying £7.00 for delivery to have nothing been done about it (not only that, but the phone as also out of charge when returned so it just seemed like my phone wasn't looked over one bit). Also a bit disappointed and annoyed at the fact I'm still paying for my monthly contract for the phone when I am unable to use it!!! I haven't damaged the phone (it basically looks brand new) and haven't exposed it to any liquids. The USB port on my phone where I charge it seems clear too. The annoyance of having to send it back to Apple costing me more money is offputting so does anyone have any other suggestions? I'm going to my local 3 store to see if they can help me out but I'm just a bit fed up now. Can see this is a popular problem amongst other iPhone users too. Many thanks! (Oh and need to add I HAVE updated everything on my phone, restored everything, restarted etc.)

I went to bed with iphone charge at 40%. I woke up during night to see what time it was and picked iphone up and it was dead.No life...dead as dead is going to get. Need Help iPhone 4S
I have an iPhone 4S that seems to work fine until the battery runs flat to the point there is no response when I press the sleep or home butons, the screen is just blank... When I plug into a charge point it will not take a charge. I have taken it to be repaired a couple of time and the guy a he mall fixes it in just a few mins and charges me 40 bucks. So long as I charge it before it goes dead flat I have no problem recharging or recognizing the phone on iTunes.Any help would be greatly appreciated...

If you can tell who the carrier is, turn it in to them. They should be able to get it returned to them. If you can't, you can try and take the SIM out and see who the carrier is that way. If all else fails, turn it in to the local police.

Earlier today my iphone said that I needed to restore it. Went on to itunes to do a back up and restore but not it is saying that it can not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable. Now have no phone. On wi-fi so no problem connecting.

iPhone photo recovery iPhone 5
Please help. I've just returned from overseas having taken a lot of photos on my new iPhone 5. I've stupidly moved to upgrade the software on the device without saving these. Now the phone is promoting me to plug into iTunes and when I do it says the phone is detected in recovery mode and has to be restored. Is there any way I can get to these images without losing them?! :( I think I have additional storage however can't be sure images were selected to back up.

Unable to open iPhone 5 S slot US bought phone
I bought an iPhone5 from the US, on AT&T carrier. I have now returned to Europe, and wish to change the SIM card. However the SIM card slot is there, but will not open. I have used the key / paperclip methods to try and open, and have taken to an Apple reseller for advice/assistance, but they were too unable to help. I understand there may be a reason why the phone may be SIM locked electronically, but can anyone advise if the hardware may itself be locked to prevent SIM removal? It appears strange that the slot is there but cannot not be opened. I am hoping it is a hardware fault - if so I expect I will need to return for repair in the US? Or can I take to my nearest Apple store (Amsterdam) for warranty repair? Any advice would be appreciated.
Just got new iPhone 5 and bluetooth dosent work
I got my new Iphone 5. And the same day I started using it, the bluetooth dident work, so I went to the store and returned it. Since they were sold out of the iphone 5 I had to wait a bit to get the new one. Now I got the my new Iphone 5 and on this one the bluetooth dosent work either!! to cut a long story short. I was interested in an i-phone... got the details..checked them all.. on the phone and with the provider, VODAPHONE... told unlocked, not stolen etc etc. proceeded to buy the phone...new sim topped up £10 only to find it wouldn't work... Went into vodaphone store..been running around following thier advice..(they said I need a friend who is a customer on vodaphone to get passed the unlocking with a vodaphone code.. and they would do it for free given the circumstances...so i run errands go back and forth doing as they asked...got nowhere) SO IT IS NOW A MONTH LATER..and after complaining and complaining to thier email site and repeatedly asking for help in store..I am stumped as what to do and just have a glorified ipod. I WILL NOT BE FORCED TO REMAIN ON THE VODAPHONE NETWORK given the situation they have put me in and thier unwillingness to help so i refuse to use the phone with vodaphone... BUT WHAT can i do PLEASEEEEEEE? all they keep on suggesting is that I get the original owners details but he is not answering anything...and the phone is not registered as stolen etc so what is the problem!? As you can imagine I am really peeved by the whole thing as I actually carried out all the necessary checks, and whilst the phone was not bought directly from vodaphone, I went to them as the provider, to find otu about unlocking etc as it is always advised to do so..and it was them that gave me the wrong information but they still will not resolve the issue. I have even sent them phone records to confirm when I rung and the name of the invalid who told me the phone was unlocked in the first place. I really would much appreciate any help as they are ignoring my emails now.

hello everyone i just got my mothers old Iphone 4s(believe it is a 4s rather then just a 4) and i called into orange (UK carrier) and i got the sim i called an activated it all fine put sim in phone try to activate the phone, and it won't let me keeps telling me my sim is invalid anyone know how to fix this, they did say that i would get texts about the sim over the next 12 hours and it would take a little time for it change from my old phone but my old phone is already saying no service which means it's been transfered over

Had to restore phone. It's stuck at activate. All started with backing up told to update update told error restore told couldn't complete. iPhone 4S
I went to backup phone on desktop. Got message that I needed to update. Back-up first. After backup, went to update system. As it was in process of updating, said there was an error and would have to restore. Phone showed image of usb connected to phone. Only alternative seemed to be to restore. Followed directions to restore, then started reactivation process. got as far as third step and then got error message athat " Your iPhone could not be actiated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable. Try connecting your iPhone to iTunes to activate it, or try again in a couple of minutes." I did try to connect with itunes but get an error message there as well. "Your request couldn't be processed. We are sorry but there was an error processing your request. Please try again later." This has been going on for over an hour. How do I get the phone reactivated and restored to its programs?
My iPhone 5 will not start up all way.
My iPhone5 was working perfectly fine one day. Then I try to reboot my phone, and for some reason it couldn't get past the apple logo. If it did get past the apple logo, one of four things would happen. A.) The apple logo will fade to blue, and reboot over and over again. B.) The apple logo will disappear and the entire screen will turn completely red. C.) The apple logo will just appear and reappear over and over again.D.) The apple logo will dim and the following text will pop up at the top of the screen [NAND] _FindFlashMediaAndKeepout:600 Physical nand block offset 1 [NAND] Start:335 this 0x938e2c0 Provider=0x938efc00 [NAND] WMR_Start:149 Apple PPN NAND Driver, Read/Write [NAND] WMR_Start:174 FIL_Init[OK] (I'm not sure if all the spacing is precise, but it was all that mumbo-jumbo) As much as I didn't want to, I restored my phone. I didn't have a lot of my things backed up, so I lost a lot of things I had on there. My phone seemed to be perfectly fine, no errors. It ran smoothly for about 12 hours. Then the same thing happened again. I don't understand why this happened again. I mean I restored my phone completely and all. It just makes no logical sense to me. I just wanted to know what I could do about this. I have Applecare, but I would still have to spend 200 dollars if I need to get a new phone. I don't feel that is right if the phone has factory errors or something. If I could get a clear response on what this is, why it's happening, and how it could be fixed, I will be a very happy young lady. Thank you!
I am unable to delete app from iphone 5 suggestions.
If I try delete app then they all shake as we know but cannot delete. The USB DISK PRO app is blank when opened and no response. All other apps still work though. It was suggested that the app mentioned was a "jailbreak" well I don't know what that means but I am sure that is not applicable. I have Tried to 1. Reboot phone2. Reset app in settings as suggested by app developer3. Switching phone on and off. None of above work. The developer suggests that this is a problem for apple to resolve ?ThanksGauteng
Iphone 4 IOS 6.1.3 multiple problems. need help
Dear Friends, I hope apple is looking into the posts by customers. I was browsing through the forum and found single threads of issues. I think I am facing all in one and look forward for people who are facing similar issues. I have a iphone 4 on AT&T. everything was working great till 6.0 & problems since I upgraded to 6.1. Since then it has been quite unstable. below are some of the issues I am facing... 1. Phone sometimes goes unresponsive or very slow response for some apps [ action took..cleared all apps restarted/rebooted..no use]2. The signal strength has considerably dropped from before and sometimes says no service. Before I had atleast some good signal strength near my home.3. The battery drain issue..sometimes I feel the battery on usage makes the phone go hot. 4. As soon I unplug from the power, the phone drops couple of %'s over 10 min even without usage or very slight usage.5. The worst of all..sometimes the phone access 3g even when there is WIFI..it takes sometime to realize there is wifi..but all the time I think is using 3G to start off or completely on 3g all the times. I restarted the phone couple of times but no luck. I never had this problem before 6.1. If any one have solutions or geniuses on solving at the least the priority one's let me know. iPhone repair at Genius Bar in USA while Purchased in KSA
Hi, I ahve purchased my iPhone 4 in August 2011 and it fell down from my hand and since then I am not able to connect to Apple server and active my iPhone. I went to all available Apple Techncial Support Centers here but now use. Scree, Camera and all other hardware are working but when I start my iPhone and connect with iTune to activate it says your iPhone is damaged. Now, I am going to visit Dallas, TX coming week, all Iwanted to know if Apple Genius bar will help me to repair this iPhone there or will they replace this iPhone after paying some bucks? If they would replace that then how much I mught have to pay them?

Hi All, My brother had gifted me an iphone 6 months back. He had bought this phone from Dubai. It was unlock phone when he bought it from shop.Recently there was some problem so i have asked my brother to show this phone in apple service center. They said there is some problem and they have replace it. My brother got a new replacement iphone 4s. However when he sent that phone to India and i tried activating it for 1st time, it's saying invalid sim data and itunes shows that this phone is unlock and can not be activated. When my dad bought the phone he didn't ask questions he just gave it to me. Being a blackberry user he didn't know that there was a one year warranty and being my first iPhone I didn't know either - and rogers didn't tell us. I found out recently that after getting my phone fixed elsewhere twice due to a broken screen that I actually have the warranty. And the recent screen I got fixed is faulty, will Apple still fix it if I sent it to them even if some else fixed it.

I have tried several times in 7 hours to turn my phone off and on again to see if the screen will repond but it hasn't done yet. I have even left it switched off for 15 - 20mins. Has anyone got any suggestions that could rectify this problem. I have currently got it plugged in to the laptop via usb and it has 100% battery life.

There are four possible causes of the activation error: The activation server is unavailable. Rare, but it happens. Usually fixed within minutes. Your antivirus or firewall (or your router's firewall) is blocking access to the domain gs.apple.com on ports 80 and 443. Your phone is jailbroken. Your phone isn't jailbroken, but the computer you are connected to during the restore or update was used to hack or jailbreak some other iOS device, and its network database was corrupted in the process. Perhaps this will provide you some clues as to how to proceed. I have tried all of these issues and it still refuses to contact update server. My phone useless right now iPhone 4
I can not restore my iphone which is currently stuck in a reboot loop because the update server can not be contacted. I have tried all the remedies suggested.
