I have an iphone 4 and my wife has a BlackBerry. When we send each other invites by email we can see the invite but can not open it an thus does populate our calenders. I just downloaded google calen and this takes me to the internet to my email account and using this app I can send a invite to my wifes BlackBerry and she can accept it and it will populate her calender. But how can she send me a invite from her BlackBerry so that I can accept it on my iphone. Basically with google calen I can now send an invite but I need help ACCEPTING AN INVITE FROM A BlackBerry. I recently bought an iPhone 4 through Bell in Canada. There are three different service providers in my area, and out of those, Bell is supposed to be the only one that will cover my area. After a full year of trying to get my hands on the iPhone, I frantically rushed home only to find that there was no service. I did some more research and found out that EVERY other Smart Phone in the area can get service except for the iPhone 4. I was told I would be able to get service and was disappointed. Now Im left with a phone that I have to drive to the next community (which is around 15 minutes away) to get service.I am disappointed in the product. I am also planning on contacting Bell. Hopefully Apple and Bell can arrange something to try and get service in the area, because as it stands, my phone is basically useless to me.What exactly should I do about this? Is there either email I can use to contact someone and try to get things sorted out before things get too late? And finally, why is it that iPhones cant get service in the area but yet every other model of phone (ie. BlackBerry, Android, etc.) can?Message was edited by: iMatthew27Message was edited by: iMatthew27 iMac iOS 4
Upgraded from BlackBerry last week. Received my new iphone 4 last Thursday. After 3 days of everyone I spoke to telling me they cant hear me, called Apple Support. Tech determined I needed a replacement. Paid $29.99 for an advance replacement. When I received it, it would not activate. Spent 2 hours on the phone with an Apple tech and finally he tells me its the sim card and to go call ATT. (original iphone 4 still worked fine except for the mic when I put the sim card back in it) Next day I go to the ATT store, they give me a new sim card and try to connect the phone on their computer. Same problem I was having on my computer. They say go to the Apple store. I drive an hour away to an Apple store. Genious checks it out and says you need a replacement phone, but we cant give it to you since Icare sent you this replacement. He says call icare back, give them this repair order number and theyll send you another replacement. Drive an hour home, call Icare, they keep me on the phone for another two hours and tell me they cant send me a replacement and theyll call me back the next day. 24 hours later, no call back and I have 2 iphones that dont work. The most ridiculous thing Ive ever gone through! Sony iOS 4
I am on Vodafone UK and mostly have my phone on 2G mode. I get good EDGE coverage 5 bars but I am intermittently getting Could not activate cellular data network message. The settings are correct, as it sometimes works, 3G data is fine over the same APN. A BlackBerry connected via EDGE seems to work fine.Vodafone insist its not an issue with the Network, as I work for a contractor with them I also had the radio side of things checked and all seems ok. Now it could be a core network issue, SGSN or similar, or its bug in the iPhone firmware. I never had this issue prior to iOS4.Anyone else, specifically having any problems with EDGE/GPRS? I would be interested to know. MBP 15" 2.8ghz 4gb Mac OS X (10.6.4) iPhone 3GS 16GB & iPhone 4 16GB
Im curious as to how the caller ID works on an iPhone. I noticed that before I had caller ID, all numbers would show up as unknown. Now that I have caller ID, if a number is saved, it will show whatever it is saved under, and if its not saved, it will simply display the number. One thing Ive noticed on my friends BlackBerry Bold is that regardless if he has a number saved or not, it will always display a name. Im wondering if there is a setting to have this on my iPhone. So even if a person calls me from a number I dont have saved, I still would like it to show a name if it isnt a restricted call. 27-inch, 3.06GHz, iMac Mac OS X (10.6)
BACKGROUND - Im UK based & have a T-Mo account, but as I travel regularly to Italy, I also have an Italian pay-as-you-go SIM with TIM. - I have a factory unlocked iPhone4 that Im keen to use in both countries. - Oh, Im also new to the iPhone having been on BlackBerry for longer than a care to remember (so bear with me).QUESTION - Usually, when I hit the tarmac in Italy (or the UK, I guess) I switch SIM cards. Having only just got an iPhone4, I will need to update my TIM SIM to a micro-SIM (but Im hoping this will be simple!) - Once I have the micro-SIM and do the SIM switch, will I be asked to sync the iPhone with iTunes again, or will the same apps, tunes & contact list be in place? ie Im ready to go within a few minutes?Thanks.... am not sure if my battery is right or if this is typical with the iphone. I am a convert from BlackBerry and this is my first Iphone.Yesterday I used per the measure on setting 6 hours of use, and standby for 16 hours. The battery got to under 10%.I plugged it in charged it from 10:30P to 7 Am and with 1 hour of usage and 6 hours of standby my battery is already at 81%I am using exchange for email and I text and have location services on but all apps are closed out complete.I do surf on it maybe a total of 2 hours a day and I have facebook open.Let me know what you all think.
Is there any way to change the way the lockscreen works. I just switched from BlackBerry to my first Iphone and it is driving me nuts that I can not see from the lock screen if I have new email. And I hate the way the text message bubble pops up when I am typing or working in other areas.
Been having problems with my IPhone 3G ever since i updated the software and finally went into the store today to speak with someone.Firstly, i was told that the software isnt for the iphone 3G and that it says this in the small print - my question then is why does it prompt you to install the new software?! surely apple are clever enough to make sure it doesnt install new software on phones that are not compatible!?Second, once I spoke to someone else he advised that it was a common problem and as yet they havent got a solution?! So i am just meant to carry on with a substandard product that is continually dropping calls, not allowing me to hang up calls, behaving really slow and interfering with my business?!They told me a phone restore would help and sent me away, Ive done this twice now and it didnt and it is still playing up. Dont waste your time if they have told you to do that. It doesnt work.Usually you get great service from apple but they have really dropped the ball... why would they allow for a software update to 3G phones if it slows it down and messes up your product?!My phone contract is up for renewal next month and was going to get the new iphone 4 despite the problems but may now opt for a BlackBerry... NEVER thought i would say that again! My question is - what is going on with Apple and what do they want us to do? Iphone 3G iOS 4
i have an i-phone 3g ,i foolishly downloaded the i-phone 4 software on Friday.it has totally screwed my i-phone,i have been without my i-phone now for 3 days despite 4 lenghy phone calls to Apple this issue has still not resolved. On Friday the software downloaded and my i-phone backed up,but then the i-phone page went blank and a warning flashed error 9812error in i-tunes store. i ran a diagnostic which said secure link to i-tunes failed,i can still browse the web and i-tunes store. The people at apple have had me try various things on my computer none of which has worked. this is all very frustrating i have never had any trouble before in updating my i-phone or i-pod touch. my advice to everyone is DO NOT DOWNLOAD LATEST I-PHONE SOFTWARE. my next phone will be a BlackBerry i-phone 3g
Have just restored my Iphone 3GS 16G, having spoken the service provider today they have assured me there is no barring on the phone. However the phone will not allow you to have access to anything that is for 18 year olds and above, like Grindr or Wine Club.I have restored my phone - which then allows me to see the age restricted app, however when I then sync it goes back to hiding age restricted apps. All of this started after accepting a Carrier Update that my carrier are unaware of.Please can someone help as seriously thinking of going back to BlackBerry as this is impossible and has taken 18 hours. after working fine for 18 months, with ios4 my iphone stops syncing my calendar with Outlook. ios401 does not solve the problem. genius guy cant figure it out. i need to be able to sync my calendar! no indication whether apple is working on this problem or not. new apple products get abandoned after 18 months? maybe time to start shopping for a BlackBerry! irate? yes! iPhone iOS 4 sincing with outlook 2003
It is unfortunate that a technology leader such as the iPhone is missing a significant feature that RIM and Android have, and likely losing market share accordingly.Through the Message Access Profile bluetooth profile, Ford Sync cars (1+ million sold to date) have the ability to read out your text messages via bluetooth, ensuring that the driver isnt distracted. With so many laws banning driver distractions (hand-free requirements, no text messaging initatives), this is a significant safety issue for todays iPhone owners.I have seen many posts for years from users wishing that Apple would get on board with this technology, but so far it hasnt been raised as a viable option to implement. Please reply to this thread if you are one of the 1+ million Ford Sync owners who also own an iPhone and wish this feature was implemented. I luckliy own both a BlackBerry and an iPhone, but not all people do. PC Windows 7
Thanks, iTunes! In addition to the poor performance 100% of 3G users are experiencing under iOS4, I also noticed that my Push Notifications were not functioning. Wow! So not only do I not get background wallpaper and portrait mode locking - all of which have nothing to do with multitasking - I apparently cant even use my phone in the same basic way I have enjoyed for the past 2 years! I cant tell you how absolutely ecstatic I am that my phone is not a sniveling wussy shell of its former self. I have often thought to myself, Yknow, all my friends with their shiny 3GS models and brand new BlackBerry phones dont know what theyre missing by having to wait 3 - 10 seconds to press the Send button in an SMS application. But now my dream has come true.Nevertheless, I really was starting to miss Push Notifications (after all, no multitasking, right?) So after 3 or 4 restore attempts, I finally decided to downgrade to v3.1.3. Lo and behold, PUSH WAS WORKING JUST FINE!Well great. I guess that solved that problem. Lets just stay at 3.1.3 for a while... Whats that you say, iTunes? I cant apply my fresh backup to an older version of iOS? But I need all my SMS logs and all that good stuff because, despite the blatant oversight of not time stamping SMS every message, they are still of critical importance to me on occasion.Fine. I had no choice but to upgrade to iOS4 once again. However, after the successful upgrade, I was not prompted to choose a restore point. It simply auto-selected the backup point it created at 3.1.3 a few minutes before. So I restored AGAIN and while it appears that backup points stretching back to 2009 are fully intact, my backups from this afternoon, last night and the day before are GONE! Thanks, iTunes! I am having to go back days and days now. Thankfully I sync my contacts and calendars with gmail over exchange because I can only imagine what would happen if I trusted you with them!I have still yet to see if my Push Notifications will operate back at iOS4.Apple: You had better address these issues at your conference tomorrow. You cant go around haphazardly breaking peoples hardware as some passive way to force us to upgrade to a 3GS or iPhone 4. MBP Mac OS X (10.6.4) latest everything
Hello to you all,If some of you can help me, it would be very nice!My step-son and I, are in the same situation. We can send between our two iphones, pictures (MMS) - (send and receive OK), but when we send a picture (MMS) to a conventional GSM (SonyEricson, Nokia, BlackBerry or other), the person receives a SMS instead indicating that the message is too long to be received.Info: max size settings for Mobistar MMS messages is: 307,200 Settings for Proximus : the fields must be empty (test with 300,000, inconclusive). Our parameters are the same as those that were used on iOS3 and it was working without any problems. We have already tried to reinstall the iOS4 on the 2 iphones and declare them as new iphones, but nothing helped. Thanks for your help..Perhaps a method to resize the size of pictures before sending it would help? iPhone 3G + 3GS iOS 4

I am a Mac veteran but my iPhone experience is but several days old, less than a week anyway.Just exactly how long should my battery last??? It seems to me that I loose 10 % of my battery power during a 10 minute conversation. Thus far Ive used it strictly as a phone, no gaming, video, email etc. During my 4th day of ownership it crashed, I mean it would do nothing. A two button reset restored operation but frankly I dont have a good feeling about this.A new BlackBerry battery lasted me between 2 and 3 days, Im a 1000 or over minutes a month plus email. Is this normal battery life? Is this typical of an iPhone? iPhone 4 Mac OS X (10.4.5) Mac Book Pro
Aaaaargghhhh...I bought a brand new O2-locked iPhone from eBay in March 2009. Everything was great - used it with a prepay O2 SIM until December, then switched to O2 Simplicity for iPhone. All fine, no problems. In March, O2 offered me the option to unlock, which I did.I went on holiday on June 23rd, to Egypt. To avoid the roaming charges I bought a prepay Vodafone Egypt SIM. The iPhone asked me to connect to iTunes. Not having my iMac with me, I connected via my little Windoze netbook. All was well and I could make/receive calls & texts.Got back to the UK and switched the phone on, still with the Vodafone SIM in it. Connected to Vodafone UK and sent a couple of texts. OK. Tried to make a call...to any number...it says Connection to this number is restricted on this phone. Please contact your customer care agentFine, I thought - must have run out of credit. So I put my O2 SIM back in...now heres where things get interesting. No request to be reconnected to iTunes. A bit odd but fine as O2-UK has appeared...but hang on, there is no signal at all just _ _ _ _ _.O2 and Vodafone UK say the phone is behaving as if blocked, but they have not blocked it. Apple say its showing as an officially unlocked iPhone on their systems and no-one has tried to block it.I have tried a restore from backup, restore as a new phone using 3.1.3 software, and finally I have tried upgrading to OS4, all walked-through with Apple. Nothing changes. When I restore the firmware I get the _ _ _ _ _ O2-UK in the top-left corner and Waiting for activation - this may take some time message. I have tried swapping in my partners standard O2 SIM. No difference. My iPhone SIM works OK in my partners Nokia 5800.I tried an Orange SIM from my daughters BlackBerry, it just says No Service with no request/attempt to activate the phone through iTunes. Finally I have tried putting the Vodafone Egypt SIM back in. The iPhone immediately says iPhone is activated and I get signal and vodafone UK in the top left corner. I am unable to send texts or make calls (I get that same message) but I can receive calls & texts to the Egyptian number.Apple are pointing the finger at O2 saying my account is somehow out of order, as a different SIM works OK. O2 are pointing the finger at Apple saying the iPhone must be faulty as their SIM works in a different phone.I am pretty peed off at this point and if anyone can suggest anything, please, please, please do!!ThanksMessage was edited by: MysticEddie iMac G5, 1.6Ghz, 512Mb, 80Gb Mac OS X (10.5.8)
I am deeply thinking to get a BlackBerry. My iphone is not anymore a smartphone with a great interface, NOW IS A BRICK.APPLE MUST FIX THIS URGENTLY OR ALOW AN OFFICIAL DONWGRADE.All i know is i was close to get the ipad and another notebook, but now APPLE LOST AN APPLE USER FAN iphone and Mac iOS 4
I used the link below to set up gmail through exchange. It worked like a charm and finally felt ok leaving a BlackBerry. A few hours ago after about 14 hours it just stopped working. I am getting no emmails on the devise even if I refresh the account. I turn off the account and turn on the old gmail fetch account and it gets the emails fine. I go back to the Exchange account and nothing. Any ideas. Link used for Exchange set up. http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=138740 iPhone 4 iOS 4

I use a permanent email forwarding service from my university for all my email. All my contacts know only this address which never changes regardless of who my ISP is. I want the messages I send from my iPhone to show this address as my sending address, not the actual ISP address. How can I set up my iPhone to do this? I was able to do it on my old BlackBerry. I am a loyal mac convert that is stuck with a BlackBerry due to having to be on Verizon. My contract is up in a few months and I will be upgrading phones. Im tired of the limitations Im having with BlackBerry, but I may have to go with either another BB or look at HTC. That means another 2 yr commitment without an iphone. This is frustrating. If I knew it was going to be 3 mos, 6 mos or whatever, I would hang on with my current phone and try to make it last. Perhaps its never going to happen? Hi, Im not switching away from my beloved iPhone - needed to get that out of the way 1st!After using a BB for years, and made the switch to iPhone 2 years ago, I find myself with another BB through a new job.I want to copy all of my contacts from my iPhone to the BB but the contacts that I have stored under company vcards will not transfer over. In other words, single contact entries are ok but names, numbers, emails etc within a designated company wont. I would LOVE to move from my BlackBerry to the newest iPhone 4, however, I will be moving to Sweden but I will be traveling quite extensively between there and the US, so I want to use local carriers and possibly Pay as you go plans so that I dont have the RIDICULOUS roaming fees. But, obviously the phones are locked. So is there a way around it? Would I be able to purchase the iPhone 4 in an European country as factory unlocked?Im not trying to breaking any rules, I have an honest question and I hope theres a solution without resorting to jail breaking because I dont want to tamper with my electronic hardware (or software) since Im digitally ********.Thanks. Im just curious is there will be a type of text messaging where we will be able to talk to multiple people in one conversation like thread form but more instant. Steve Jobs said today that they might not always be the first to the table but they are the best well if those fools over at BlackBerry could make BBM why cant we have an Iphone equivalent? If it is not already a feature I strongly suggest that it gets added. WE ALL WANT IT!
Hello all!Im looking for an app that would work like the IM feature of the BlackBerry, and be billed the same way. Currently, if you have the international feature turned on with your BB service (at least through tmobile), the IM charges you as if you are just using data. For example, a weeks worth of pretty heavy chatting with the wife while I was out of the country hit me for all of .37!! No per text fee, no roaming cause I already have an international plan, just the data per character of text.Has anyone found any way to do anything like this with an iPhone? It is the last hurdle for us to switch over to iPhones. Thanks!!
iPhone 3G problem.Bought a new Kenwood deck with Bluetooth and built in phone and it wont download my address book. Went to the store and tried four or five different decks from different companies with the same results. Some decks wouldnt even Pair with me. Others paired but wouldnt download the addresses. One said I had to send the address book Manually which cant be done that I know of.Anyone had this problem? Is this typical of the 3G or should I complain to Apple? A guy with a BlackBerry had no problems Pairing and downloading his address book to the same deck that wouldnt download mine. Thanks for any advice you can give! iMac 9.1 iPhone OS 3.1.3
There are a lot of reasons to hate the iPhone...Everything from ATT terrible service, to $99 charge to replace the batter... the 3.0 crashes on the 3G, the dealing with iTunes as an interface; I could go on and one, but I wont. What I want to know is when will Apple wake up and provide one of the most obvious and simple improvements to there phone? Im talking about custom text tones, push notifications, and voice mails. Im so tired of hearing the same tones, pulling out my phone when someone else has the same voice mail, or text tone as me; its a bit ironic Apple and Mr. Jobs think different attitude, and dont be a conformist or give in to Windows (the big brother), yet they produce this very one-dimensional stylized junk. I had a BlackBerry curve I could plug in and it show up like an external drive... I could drop any tone (NO MATTER WHAT LENGTH) and it would play. I didnt need to add it to iTunes, or sort it, or re author it, or get another program (sharetones) to convert it and trick it.... it just worked. I regret the day I purchased this... thing, and will love the day I can get another phone that believes in users usability, and freedom, rather than...this. I purchased an apple alright; a rotten one.Message was edited by: munnman84 CR320-E Windows Vista custom ringtones

Does anyone know if there is an iPhone App which is compatible with the BlackBerry chat system and can use the BlackBerry users pin no to identify them and chat? You would have thought BlackBerry or RIM or whoever the company is would cease the opportunity to write an app to do this. I would pay for such an app. Im sure many many iPhone users would pay good money for such an app to be able to talk to their die hard BlackBerry colleagues, friends, families and co- workers. Would be a good income stream for them. iMac intel Mac OS X (10.6.2) iPhone 3GS 16GB, macbook
iAds in system 4..... whats that all about then? iAds will allow applications developers to use advertisements in their apps, pocketing 60 percent of the revenue. Apple will sell and host the ads.Thats according to Reuters. Does this mean therell be all sorts of adverts popping up when youre using an app? so i dont know if its just me or the only cool thing for BlackBerry is their BBM. i think it would be cool if apple came out with a factory app for the iPhone that was just like the bbm. what are the chances that apple would actually do that in an update after 4.0? and do you guys think that would be a good idea or a waste? iPhone 3GS iPhone OS 3.1.3
I have an ordinary LG cell phone which i can hardly wait for the contract to expire. Furthermore, I hate BlackBerry phones. I want an iPhone to be my next phone. However, is there any apps that work like blackberries pinging each other? I the BlackBerry world, this is instantaneous messaging --->as opposed to regular texting whereby a text can take up to twenty minutes for the recipient to get a text sent from, say, my lousy LG cell phone. mac Mac OS X (10.6.2)
Okay. So a few months ago my friend bought a BlackBerry (I probably shouldnt say that word on this forum. Hahahah!) and they gave me their iPhone 3G.I understand that AppleCare is transferable, but I had them check on the status of it, and it appears to have expired. Well. Heres my two problems:When I plug the phone into my PC, or the included wall charger, it just sits there for a minute or two before it makes the noise or starts to charge. I dont know if its just the power coming over the wire or it having to wait for it to recognize being plugged in...? I dont know. Its just a little irritating... Does anyone else have this problem? The other problem is with the vibrate. It vibrates SO loud! I dont know if it was dropped and now its broken or something. The phone is in pretty good condition, its just scratched. But the vibrate is so loud I cant set it on a table or use it at school. Its not like any other iPhone Ive heard. Its a buzzing, grinding sound. And it doesnt matter where the phone is, in my hand, in a pocket, sitting on a desk, regardless it makes a horrid noise. Does anyone have this problem? And could it be fixed? I dont know what to do. :/Thanks. (: Dell Dimension E521 Windows Vista
Is Apple ever going to develope an update which provides an in email true dictionary based spell check like BlackBerry? iPhone is the most advanced phone in the world but lacks the ability to spell check. Yes there are apps on the market but switching between the email and app to reread an email and respond is not effective and is quite the pain. 3gs iPhone OS 3.1.3

Quick summary: Work for a large company who has a contract with AT&&T. Since they are not partners with Apple they don't want their employees using the Iphone. Has to be a "windows" phone. I however have an Iphone and want to use it on their plan. I am currently on their plan right now with my iphone. They pay for everything (Phone, Text, Data etc.) However i was told every few months they do a pull from AT&T to see what people are using. If they see an Iphone data plan they will cancel your service (Same goes for BlackBerry). When they do a "pull" of information, they want to see that everyone with data plans are using the AT&T coded data plan "windows" and not "Apple"(Iphone) or "other" used by blackberrys. I have been told it can be done and people have done it. I would like to know if an APN changer will tell this "pull" that comes from AT&T that I have a windows data plan or no data plan at all. I also would not like to lose the lists of voicemails feature on my iphone. How can I keep my iphone on my companies plan?
So yesterday, my original, now nearly 20-month old iPhone 3Gs home button ceased working. No pressure difference, just complete stoppage. I tried to power off and restored it with no fix.I took it the the Apple Store today and the Genius gave me two options: 1) Drop $200 on a replacement (No AppleCare, thats my fault that I wont make again) 2) See if my plan is eligible for a 3GS upgrade at AT&T.Well, I told the Genius I wasnt keen on dropping the cash or moving to the 3GS when the new iPhone is months around the corner. To which he replied, There isnt any reason for Apple to upgrade the iPhone anytime soon. Sure.So Im just asking if this is a common hardware dilemma, what I can do from here, how do I go about getting another temporary phone (Gasp! BlackBerry) and replacing the SIM (eBay?), just for the few months before the new iPhone rolls out.Any help would be appreciated as I run a business and my phone is of paramount importance. Thanks guys! iPhone 3G iPhone OS 3.1.3
How do you enter a phone number and its associated extension into an iPhone? I have personal extension numbers for colleagues where you dial the main company phone number first. The extensions are in the form x123, but when they come over onto the iPhone it wont dial them (it won;t even dial the main company number). My old BlackBerry would. Dell Windows XP Pro
OK.Im new to this forum and not sure if this is even the appropriate place for this topic but here goes....Ive had a BlackBerry Bold 9000 for a year now and love it. But a longtime friend and colleague has had an iphone since their inception. He tried to convince me when I got the BB but i resisted. My wife recently got an ipod touch and I like it. All its missing is a phone.(at least seemingly on the surface) I use the BB for work and personal. I understand that there are trade-offs in both directions but want more details. Can you really NOT multitask(restart an app after ending a call that interrupted the app) Is the bluetooth truly stereo?(I stream to the car stereo) I also understand that i will no longer be able to purchase $5/month phone insurance on my cell plan(AT&T)Any other thoughts from anybody with a similar experience? I had a BlackBerry until a couple months ago. The button in the upper right hand corner of a BlackBerry is a sleep button but on a call it is a mute button. The button in the upper right hand of a iPhone is the sleep button...except when youre on a call it is the hang up button. When Im listening to conference calls and I want to go to mute real quick I tend to hit this button...and ta da! Im out of the call. Even after a couple months I just cant get used to not having this as a mute button. And really I kinda prefer having that button there because I can quickly mute to cough, ****, etc With the iPhone if the phone is up to my face I have to wait for it to sense Im not by the phone, turn the screen back on and then push mute. This is probably the only thing I miss about my BB is the mute button. Is there anyway to configure this button to be a mute button and not a hang up button??? Or an app that does it? iPhone Windows 7 iPhone 3GS
Question is:How to set up a contact profile that enable the iphone to automatically dial and extension number just after the main telephone number? (ex. +1 734 7022324 extension 1234 - format in outlook will be +17347022324 X 1234)This function is easily executed using a BlackBerry and contact book from outlook. My iphone is already sync with outlook, but do not recognize the extension number when I dial automaticaly. On my iPhone 3GS I received an MMS earlier from a Sprint BlackBerry user. Showed up in my emails as an email, picture attached. (after fetching via sprints mail service)Later received an MMS from another Sprint BlackBerry user (different person) and it came through in my messages window as a text would. What gives? On a side note, didnt think iPhones could get MMS. 3GS 16gig
I am sure that I have found a post on this topic but now it is beyond my meagre powers to locate it.My iphone goes through the motions of sending an email - it shows the progress bar advancing and it makes the swoosh sound. However, when I check the sent folder it isnt there - it is sitting in the drafts folder. This is really beginning to annoy me not least because of the recent firmware upgrade which did not fix the issue - it happens with 1 in 5 email and it means that I cannot rely on the iphone to complete my communications causing me to consider changing to a BlackBerry....with all its downsides! iPhone connects without problem to car (handsfree). It iwll not connect with my BlackBerry 8700 headset. It also will not connect with my computer, despite the fact that my computer successfully paired with the iPhone....I entered the numeric code on the phone, etc, but still will not connect. Actually, the phone doesnt even see the Mac nor the headset. Thanks for any help!!!!! 2006 MacBook Pro Mac OS X (10.6.2) New 3G 8GB iPhone
All,As you all know, on the main screen the Phone App icon displays the number of missed calls in a little red circle. This is the total of missed calls whether or not they left a message. To find out the number of voicemails, you need to enter the Phone App. I would like to see the number of voicemails at a glance on the main screen for at-a-glance convenience. It seems so ergonomically critical -- to know if youve got a message waiting instantly! I cant imagine this isnt in high demand.I know if the BlackBerry {BOO!} can do it, so must the iPhone. But a call to Apple tech support says officially this cant be done. I need a mod, hack, third party app, something! Help and thanks. Im a programmer and IT Consultant (without iPhone programming experience) so I dont mind getting my hands dirty.
