I have an iPhone 3G. I am currently out of the country, so I need my cell phone pretty badly. Yesterday, I was talking on it, no problems, working like a charm. At some point last night, it told me I had no service. When I went to try a new carrier, it said for each one Restricted Network: Your selected celluar network is restricted. You can choose a different network in Settings. despite the fact that these networks all worked 10 hours ago. Then I went to look at my network, at it said not available. When I got more details, it said SIM not provisioned. WHAT? What does that mean?I have not done ANYTHING to my phone between 10 hours ago and now. Why would it work then and not now? How do I get my service back?? I need access to my cell phone. HP Windows XP
My friend is having a problem on her iPhone 3GS. Whenever she receives calls from people in the phonebook, their names appear with no problem. But if she doesnt answer the call, only the number appears in the missed calls list and not the name. This is occurring on her phone with contacts which are stored with the country code (e.g. +966XXXXXXXXX). In the missed call list, the number appears as 0XXXXXXXXX. I tried to replicate this problem on my phone but I didnt have a problem; names showed up properly on my iPhone when she called me, and even in the missed call list, and her number was also stored with the country code in my phonebook. Both our phones are officially unlocked. I bought mine from Mobily (official iPhone carrier in Saudi Arabia) and she bought hers from Etisalat (one of the official iPhone carriers in UAE, which is also Mobilys parent company) but both have the exact model number. We are both using the same carrier in Saudi Arabia; STC (we can do this because the phones are officially unlocked). We also both synced our contacts to our new iPhones via Google Sync (we both migrated from the Blackberry 8900 Curve).I checked the regional settings on both phones, and we are both using the US settings (since Saudi Arabia isnt one of the available options)The only difference that I found was that she had iPhone OS 3.1.2 and I have iPhone OS 3.1.First of all, how can she fix this issue?Second of all, will I have this problem if I upgraded to 3.1.2?I checked on-line, and it seems that most people install a region-fix via Cydia to support their countrys phone number format. However, neither of us are interested in installing Cydia or using any unofficial fix. My phone is stock and so is hers, how come the numbers show-up properly on my phone? Mostly I read about people getting unknown caller when an in-coming call is received from a person in the phone book. This problem however is strange, since the number is obviously recognized when the call is coming in, and the name is displayed fine, but if not answered, the name doesnt show in the missed calls list.Could this be caused by the SIM card, or was something left out in the latest 3.1.2 update? iPhone 3GS iPhone OS 3.1 Macbook Pro

WHenever I try to check visual voicemail on my iPhone 3G, I receive an error message that it cannot connect. I have tried the usual troubleshooting strategies - rebooting the device, turning off and on wifi, turning off and on airport mode, resetting network settings, etc. No luck. AT&T tells me my account is properly provisioned for voice mail. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks. iPhone 3G Mac OS X (10.5.6)
We know that Apples been making a big deal out of telling everyone with a FAN associated with their account that they have to purchase at an AT&T store, or have the FAN removed from their account, etc. In fact, at the Apple Store in King of Prussia, PA, when I tried to purchase an iPhone, the Concierge told me that they were going through the line and removing anyone who either currently had, or ever in the past had a FAN associated with their account, even if the FAN had been removed, because they couldnt provision the phones in the store. Ive had a 16 GB Black on order at the AT&T store in the same mall since 15 July (and of course, all thats been happening is that the status bounces between backorder and not backorder on the AT&T website).Heres what doesnt makie sense. Apple claims that its impossible for them to provision iPhones for any accounts that have, or have ever had FANs associated with them. Yet Apple and AT&T are close partners. Its probably a safe assumption that Apple has some form of corporate agreement with AT&T that includes some type of discount for Apple employees. How the heck are Apple employees (including those at the stores) getting provisioned??? Certainly THEY arent being told to march down to an AT^T store and go Direct Fulfillment!?In fact, how was Apple able to provision all their enterprise customers during the beta program (companies such as Disney?) Surely they must have noticed this problem during the Beta when they went to provision the phones loaded with the beta software?Even if thats not the case with the Beta program, I would still LOVE to know how Apple employees are getting their phones provisioned! 12" PowerBook G4 Mac OS X (10.5.4)
