Iphone Wifi not working after Reset Network Setting

Hello Experts,Good Day.I have a problem with my iphone, wifi cant connect to any network but my ipod touch does.Morever,I have manage to perform the Reset network setting through this path (Menu > Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings) but still wifi cant connect to any network.Does my issue has something to do with the hardware of my Iphone? Iphone stopped working after updating to iOS4

A week ago i updated my iphone to os4. After the update was finish i picked up the phone and it was very hot. Then the phone began shutting off even when it showed the battery bar as full.It would fine for a few minutes after its unplugged and then it would shut off as if the batter was dead. When you plugged the phone back up it showed that it had no battery life left even though it previously said it was fully charged.So I figured that since the phone was hot the updating process might have fried the battery some how. So i ordered a replacement battery and replaced the old battery with the new one. To my surprise it is still having the same issues.Can anyone shed some light as to what is going on right now? iOS 4

apps stay on loading iPhone 4

So running ios 4.1 is great..normally when I download an app from the appstore on the phone initially a default icon appears and it start loading..after it is done downloading the icon of the app appears. However in my case the default icon together with the label loading stays forever. It wont change to the app icon while it is downloaded as the circle indicator is running when downloading.It seems that the icon is not reffeshing while the app is downloaded. I know that as when I reset the phone the icons of the apps are there and are working fine.Any idea what might be the problem here? Iphone 4.1 Proximity Sensor NOT fixed

Im about to implode with nerd rage.I have had my phone since day one, the whole antennagate didnt bother me, as I dont hold my phone with my left hand.But this is making me want to throw my phone against a wall.Muting someone while on the phone, calling another contact or going into facetime mode. This is the bane of my iPhones life. I have done 3 restores on my phone and also updated to 4.1, yet it is still not patched. Is this still happening to others?We were told the next update would patch this, instead we get Gaming Centre and also HDR photos which is great, But I still cant use my phone properly...If so please do comment as I need to know Im not going crazy.The apple store have said to me its not my phone its software,even tried to test it and prove me wrong by using a 10 second phone call ( I know seriously what a genius ) So what can I now do to get a working iPhone 4? 3G dies during 4.1 update iPhone 3G

After over 4 hours of meticulously trying to get Wifi working on 3G after a 4.0.2 update, (post is here - http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2570679&tstart=75), this evening, after reviewing all the correct measures I took to get it working, an Apple support technician promptly told me that an update to 4.1. will fix the problem. iTunes got a quarter of the way through and then froze up completely. After two hours of inactivity (log files verify this), I gave up. I now have an iPhone that displays a progress bar, will not shut down, and wont be recognized by iTunes. It seems likely I wont have a working phone for a while - Ive wasted another evening and can say that Ive pretty much had it with Apple products and support.Any suggestions? Dell Inspiron iOS 4 3G

Text Message Alert NOT working-Iphone 4

When I get a new text message, the alert is not going off. I have checked that the sound for text message is on but still nothing. I noticed tonight that if I change the text message sound its not giving a preview of it. I thought it use to do that as well. water damaged screen but still working iPhone 4

I got my iphone 4 water damaged. now i turned it off and left it buried in rice for a couple of days. the 2 water indicators are still white. my screen has liquid, specifically, coffee marks inside it. but the speakers are working, camera is working. the only problem im having is my home button is not working so great and my battery is just plain useless now. and whenever i try to sync my ipod(music, videos) it wont work. but i was able to sync my contacts and messages back.my question now is, would apple replace it under the warranty?or am i qualified for the OOW thing? since it is still working. im not sure if you have to have your phone completely dead due to water damage to be eligible. Iphone 4 wifi connects gets ip signal icon not showing cannot browse

Hi All, Since last friday I am not able to connect to my companys wifi, but Ive been doing that with no troubles since I got my phone.Basically I setup the hidden wlan, with wpa2 security, and Im able to connect, the iphone even reponds the ping request im sending the ip from my laptop.The odd thing is that the wireless signal icon (besides the carrier signal indicator) is no longer present and if I try to use safari I get the following message: Cellular Data is Turned Off (which is ok, Im not trying to use gprs/umts) - Cannot Open Page.Can anyone tell me what I should do? Hi there, my iPhone switched itself off yesterday for no apparent reason! I took out the sim card & put it on a heater in case it had got damp - after about 30mins i put it back in & the phone came on but oly for 20mins or so. I cant switch it on since. Red light on next to earpiece iPhone 3G

Okay, heres the story: My friend spilt water on me and a little bit on my phone. Immediately, I tried drying it off and the phone was working fine. Later that evening, when I would try to use my phone by pressing the Wake/Sleep button, the screen would come up, but would quickly start to fade away. The phone then turned off completely. I noticed that there was a very small red light on next to the earpiece. It looked like a C with a dot in the middle. I also noticed that the area around the earpiece was very hot. After this, I tried plugging my phone into the wall. I tried taking the SIM card for a bit, I put the phone in some rice, and I plugged it into my MacBook (but the phone wouldnt even show up in my iTunes). The light has turned off and the phone is no longer hot, but the phone still wont turn on.Could anyone shed some light on what to do now?

Iphone4 wifi shows refuses to connect

Just got my phone and just got it activated- connected to my work wifi, and the phone shows the signal as full tilt, but- when I open safari it switches to 3g.Turning off 3g forces it to edge, turning off edge/cellular data (with wifi shown full strength) gives the not connected error.Have reset/rebooted/etc phone- cannot do so to internet, but have confirmed it working fine. Iphone not working after upgrade to 4.0.2

After upgrading to 4.0.2, my iphone will not connect to any device. Everything, including my cars stereo system which includes an ipod connector, says that the device is incompatible. Ive heard that the upgrade due out next week will take care of this - but will it really? iPhone4 Facebook Push Notification Not working

Im trying to figure out why this is not working. I tried deleting and reinstalling the FB app, but it still doesnt push. Mail seems to push fine, but FB just refuses to. Pictures no longer displaying in Email iPhone 4

3 days ago, pictures in email were working great, no problems in any of the 3 email accounts I have loaded (Yahoo, .me, and Google apps Premier through exchange). Now in any account, any email, the pictures are replaced with a question mark. regardless of the account. Pictures that used to be displayed now show a question mark and any new picture does as well. Even when a new picture comes in, say a 2mb picture, it gives me the option to download the whole 2mb file, and it downloads something and then the question mark is displayed. Fix for VM not received and visual voicemail not showing iPhone 4

Wanted to share this with all. Easy fix at bottom of this postIphone 4 user.My voice mail was not getting through - no tri-tone alert and no sign of the message on visual voice mail screen. Happened over the last 10 days after working properly prior.Called Apple Care rep. Lots of thought, lots of consultation (10 minutes)Advice: take Sim card out and the put it back in and/OR call ATT to address issue.OK... I didnt touch the Sim...called ATT. Rep keeps me on 10 minutes! Could almost smell the smoke of her mental processes as she kept saying OK just one minute about 30 times and lots of questions for me!Finally says she is stumped and gets me to her 2nd level tech person.This person tells me do this simple thing - delete any visual voice mails and then delete all the deleted. Simple as can be. Took 15 seconds. Problem solved.AND... she said its a known issue and that this fix has worked well every time.Worked for me and so far I dont have to keep constantly deleting the VMs to keep it working.I told her, please tell your fellow reps and please let the Apple reps know this as well. How Facetime works iPhone 4

Hi all !So Ive been wondering how Facetime was working. I heard, since it was going through Wifi, it wouldnt be charged by the carrier, regardless of what kind of contract you have. Ive checked a few tests here and there, and it seems you need to call the person via regular GSM network, and then switch to facetime. Does that mean the GSM connections still running in the background? What if I want to call someone directly via Facetime?If I go in my contacts, select a person, scroll down and clic Facteime, its the list of numbers I have stored for that person that shows up. After update to OS 4.0.1 GPS not working-only trinangulation iPhone 3G

I did update of my 3G to OS4.0.1 or 0.2, after that my GPS functione gone. This is second device what Ive got from my dealer. First was with the same problem and they changed to new one. New 3G with factory settings and 3.1. worked perfectly. GPS was very precise, but now after getting 4.0 works only trinangulation. I dont want to go again to the service center. iPhone 3G motherboard missing component after main antenna contact

Anyone knows what this component is on the iPhone 3G motherboard?I have an iPhone 3G motherboard I bought locally for $25. It had a broken #3 connector which I fixed successfully. By comparing to a working motherboard, I noticed that it is also missing a component connecting the contact to the main antenna on the bottom speaker module. Does anyone know what it is? It looks like a resistor, fuse, or capacitor. If I know what it is, I can probably install a new one there. Turn wiped of data iPhone3 without S into iTouch for son

I have a new iPhone 4G & have transferred all data from the old iPhone 3G. Wiped the iPhone 3G and want to rebuild it for my son from my own iTunes account. So he can use all the games I downloaded. He only is 9 so I dont want to give him a phone SIM yet. Now the 3G is wiped clean the message on the iPhone is Insert a valid SIM with no PIN lock to activate iPhone. iTunes says the SIM is locked.I dont want to put in SIM. Wont SYNC iPhone 3G

Im trying to sync my iPhone through iTunes but its not working. First it says something about a duplicate file. Then it says an internal device error has occured. iPhone 4-painfully slow wi-fi performance

Ive been experiencing painfully slow wifi performance (about 1/4 the speed of 3G performance) while connected to Wi-Fi.I tried following the advice given in an Apple Support article which suggested resetting network settings. I then had to re-enter the password for my wi-fi and it seemed better for a few minutes while after doing that. But then its back to snails pace again.Has anyone else see this? My Wi-Fi router is a Linksys WAG325N with firmware v1.00.12. Its working fine with several macs, an iPad, an iPod Touch and an iPhone 3GS. Its only the iPhone 4 which has this problem. I can load a given web page on both my iPhone 4 and 3GS and the 3GS normally finishes before the iPhone 4 has even loaded the page title. Intermittently stops receivingsending texts and calls iPhone 4

First of all, love the new phone. I have had a strange recurring problem, though. Every 3-4 days, my phone stops sending and receiving calls and txts, even though it has a full signal. I end up restarting the phone and it again begins working fine. Any ideas?

iPhone wont turn on

I think I am fuked. My iPhone was constantly freezing today. I did a reset (holding down home and power button) I did that twice. I wanted to sync my phone into iTunes so that I could have all of my photos on my computer before my phone stopped working. Well no point. Wont sync. I try turning it on and syncing and all it does is show the apple logo then it shuts down. I am about to cry right now because all my photos from my trip and my text messages are gone. Emails deleted in Entourage still appear on iphone

I am using 3G iphone (4.0.2) and sync with Entourage 2008 on intel Mac through Exchange server. Had been working fine. Recently - messages deleted in Entourage dont delete on the iphone - very aggravating. I can send email from iphone fine, I can delete messages on iphone and they delete in entourage. Stuck in customer services returns iPhone 4

After waiting for the 3 week delivery for my iphone from the apple online store (singapore) it arrived with a damaged pixel.Customer services told me to send it back in via DHL and they would send out a replacement within 2 to 3 working days.One week later and still no replacement.To make matters worse, every time i call support it takes them about 20 minutes to actually find my case and figure out what is going on before they can even try to assist me.The latest i have heard is that i now have to wait another three weeks for a new one to be delivered for me!!!If i had known this i would have held onto the damaged unit until they sent me a replacement.Is this normal returns policy?Now i am over in Singapore for work reasons. My previous apple experience is with the UK store where you can usually just walk in and walk out with a replacement handset.I cannot believe how difference the customer experience is over here. Am i over-reacting in complaining about this? Should i just cancel my phone order - after all it will now turn out to be six weeks from initial order until i finally get to use one. No sounds iPhone 4

Hi allUpdated to 4.0.2 recently, although not sure if this is the problem or just coincidence.On settings, all my sounds are on (i.e. lock sounds, ringtone to loudest, keyboard clicks) and they have been working until today.Now the keyboard clicks dont work, nor do any other sounds other than the iPod. When I go into settings and confirm my ringtone, it does ring, but not when I get a call.This all worked previously but as I say, not sure whether just a conincidence with the update. Are there any other settings that I may have inadvertently changed.All the best

Problems syncing iPhone 4

Seems simple - to sync your phone, but I have had issues since purchase. After 3 hrs tech time and then time face to face in store, they gave me a new phone. It syncd right away, everything fine. Now having problem with the second phone.I did not sync the phone for a couple weeks, and went to sync it because my apps were not working (push the app on phone and nothing happens). When I tried to sync, I get errors again, some of which include:Internal device errorTiming outUnknown errorI have attempted to restore from back-up, and it errors out and wont let me do this. I have done the complete restore as well. Then when I attempt to sync, the errors are gone, but the sync does not occur. Itunes states it is syncing, and phone shows nothing. It never syncs.Also, anytime I connect the phone to computer itunes pops up with the set up your iphone page, which tells me it is never really recognizing the phone. Also note: I was told to take the time management off the USB hubs, as this might be creating a problem. This has not solved the problem.I am going back to the store today, but figured I would see what advice I could find here. HP dv6t 64 bit

I have to use the top button. Ive tried recovery, turning off all network services, lots of things. if i hit the HOME button, nada. what can i tell you to fix this again. only happened after 4.0.2 upgrade. Iphone 3g shows apple logo after restore

I replaced my screen because it was cracked. Phone still functioned fully. I updated to 4.02 or latest update with success so that I could restore to that point later. My problem is that I have success in getting the connect to itunes recovery screen and the computer has offered to restore and then begins its process. According to the Phone updater log, the restore succeeded. However as Itunes restores (or during the process), the phone returns to the apple logo screen and itunes no longer sees it. The phone will then endlessly loop to try and reboot every 5 mins or so with the apple logo until the battery goes dead. Two attempts thus far.I have a valid contract with AT&T and the phone is not jailbroken. Although yes, I replaced the screen myself. (A cost of $20 shipped to my house over $200+ with apple) The phone is a little more than 2 years old.The frustration is it seems that everything should be working but cant get past apple log screen. I believe since i took the phone to an itunes store to inquire about glass replacement, the tech would had noted the cracked screen, leading anyone to believe the possibility of the phone screen being replaced otherwise, in otherwords, I dont expect Apple to help at all despite the fact of having 2 phones now, but they could surprise me. Canceling call from Tom Tom doesnt always cancel call on iPhone 3G

Hi all,I bought an iphone 4 from three mobile from their online site. Last Thursday I received the iphone, but it is faulty. No sound at all, no dial tone , no ring tone, etc.Then I went to 3 and they told me it is faulty , need 2 weeks to get new one for me, while I still need to pay for the plan even though I cannot make a call. The other solution is go to apple store, so they can give me a new phone faster. So I go to apple store, one of the guy check my phone and say it is faulty but I need to make appointment in order to get new phone. I make sure with him that I can get a new phone on next appointment, he say yes. So appointment on Monday (3 days later). Which I thought not too bad.Some important thing happen on Monday, I cannot go to apple. So I gave them a call to change my appointment. But they told me they cannot change my appointment online, ask me to make new appointment online. And the guy over the phone seem so busy that he does not bother to help me make reservation online while i in front of my computer.So I go to their site, next thing I found out is there are so many appointment type, so not sure which to book. I just book one of them at Wednesday. Then on Wednesday I go to apple again, this time they tell me I make wrong appointment so I cannot meet the person who need to check my phone(only need 5 mins). Ok seem that partly my fault this time, I accept it. So he make another appointment for me on Friday.Friday, go to apple store again. Finally they manage to check the phone and said it is faulty. Can replace new one for me. Guess what happen? No stock. Wow, and tell me I need to wait another week. What is the different with 3? You guys still need 2 weeks and wasting all my precious time for it. So I need to keep paying my bill for 2 weeks while I cannot make a phone call? 3 times went to apple and still cannot get a new phone? It is my fault that I bought a $1k dollar phone and it is not working? Am I so free that I can keep going to your store?I am so **** off. IPhone 4 iOS 4

Travelling abroad with iPhone

Hello. Going to Japan in the fall for 3 weeks and am looking into to travel packs through Rogers (Canada). They seem expensive! May or may not not bother - not sure yet. Just wondering, if you turn off data roaming and disable 3g, you should be able to use WiFi still...I tried it out in my house and it worked. I notice however, when i disable 3G and data roaming the Rogers logo STILL shows. im thinking because it must be working on Edge. Sooooo, if you turned off roaming and disabled 3G, used wifi, would you STILL get roaming charges as it appears you cant turn off edge networks. iMac Mac OS X (10.6.4) iPhone 3G
