This is my second iphone 5 on Verizon, I had the first one swapped but this one is t any better:/I tried restoring it AS NEW but no luck, my friends on att&t is fast, has great recpetion fast on wifi and letMine inside buildings is horrible and wifi is unusable!I know my wifi is fast bcuz my 4s is fast on it.The phone is also laggy. What could be wrong? I can't swap it again
A weird rectangular, transparent, shield has appeared "above" any key selected from lock code to apps that blocks any tapping on any keys or keypad.If I tap hard and fast, it might catch but then enters the number, or whatever, multiple times (cause of rapid tapping). This has happened 6 times since March, where I've had to fully restore factory setting. First time, didn't know had to manually back up apps, dir., etc., so had to re-build it all 1st time. Since, same weird transparent shield appears, then no button will "select" or function until full restore. Because after rapid tapping, hard, one might stick, after 1, 2, 3, Dozentaps, it proves something transparent is blocking (the rectangle appears as a fine point box line hovering above anything I tap). This last time, the full restore put it back, and the problem is still there.Am back on my old 4S, which I kept, as spare (amazingly) until a fix. Will prolly have to send it in on a slow boat to China, where itwas made, which is gonna be quicker than a repair job, I'm sure. Nothing like this comes up on the forum, any advice is well appreciated.Thank you kindly.
Hey all, I have an iphone 5, obviously less than a year old, and am having a really strange problem. Two days ago, I was able to charge my phone, sync it, everything like it was normal. Yesterday, it decided it won't charge. When the phone is dead, and I plug it in it has the normal charging screen and will get to 5% like usual. But then, there is no charging battery, and my phone charges SUPER slow. For example, yesterday I plugged in my phone at 3:50pm with 1%, and when I unplugged it (never used it while charging) it was 9:15pm and 34%. Continuing to charge it from then has resulted it up to 50% now. When it's plugged into my computer (Windows 7 Professional), I get a notification that says the USB device has malfunctioned. So I know from this and the very slight charging that it shouldn't be the cord, there is still communication between the two. I haven't updated my phone to the latest settings (it's on 6.0.2) and I'm struggling to try to update it now. I also don't want to Reset all Settings due to some of my photos and videos that I need to save and I don't want those deleted. What do I do? How do I go about fixing this situation? It really shouldn't be a battery since it's a decently new phone. It's been handled great and there is no damage to it and no drops. Help!
Don´t buy a iphone 5 It simply don´´t work stabil in the bluetooth word. I can sometimes, and sometimes not connect to me Ipad 2 and PC. turn of and on, sometime i works some time i don´t work. I am waiting and Waiting because it is so slow to connect. I am very disappointed by having buying one of the perhaps the most expensive phone om market.But I can not use it in my proffessionel work life. Other phones do not have these problems.
So once I got my iphone I didn't touch it till I got a case...Anyways, I had problems with my lock button as soon as I clicked it..It wasn't easy or smooth to press down it was always hard now I have to use my teeth to press it down to turn it on...Can I get it for free??I have insurance...Should I bring that up?Or should I try to get it for free since it wasnt my issue..Plus my cable is broken and my home button is slow to respond..I didn't do anything.I was just using it.That's all!
I have been having multiple problems with my iphone 5 and ive only had it for 6 months. I have been restoring it to factory settings on a regular basis however it still has been having problems (more and more frequent. #1 Teathering. I have been having trouble teathering off of my phone. (i tried several devices to rule my macbook out of the troubleshooting, nothing works) No device picks up my wifi or bluetooth personal hotspot. My macbook does not even recognize my USB connection in network settings. #2 My wifi on the phone is also a hassle. It has been becoming more and more intermittant, but rarely works. I have tried multiple networks with the same result. #3 My phone has become generally slow especially for safari and mail. On wifi, they dont work at all. on 3G, and LTE, the phone has also become very slow and often won't load at all. As stated above, restoring used do fix everything but that fix has become very short term, and often hasn't been working at all. Can someone help me?
Im using LTE and the speed 2mb/s that slow but when i go to places that not support LTE it appear 3g and the speed 10-16 mb/s im confused some says LTE is the best and better then 3g but when i do test that what happen it appear 3g better LTE or my LTE is not working well ? Informations about my device iphone 5 Ios: 6.1.3 Carrier : viva (kuwait)
3g doesn't seem to want to work, got correct network settings and full coverage but not loading.... Any suggestions? Thanks!!

Dear Friends, I hope apple is looking into the posts by customers. I was browsing through the forum and found single threads of issues. I think I am facing all in one and look forward for people who are facing similar issues. I have a iphone 4 on AT&T. everything was working great till 6.0 & problems since I upgraded to 6.1. Since then it has been quite unstable. below are some of the issues I am facing... 1. Phone sometimes goes unresponsive or very slow response for some apps [ action took..cleared all apps restarted/rebooted..no use]2. The signal strength has considerably dropped from before and sometimes says no service. Before I had atleast some good signal strength near my home.3. The battery drain issue..sometimes I feel the battery on usage makes the phone go hot. 4. As soon I unplug from the power, the phone drops couple of %'s over 10 min even without usage or very slight usage.5. The worst of all..sometimes the phone access 3g even when there is WIFI..it takes sometime to realize there is wifi..but all the time I think is using 3G to start off or completely on 3g all the times. I restarted the phone couple of times but no luck. I never had this problem before 6.1. If any one have solutions or geniuses on solving at the least the priority one's let me know. so it basically says it all up in the title, but my phone keeps freezing and whenever i open apps they freeze and then crash!i dont know if i should get a new phone like get it replaced or if i shoud reset it, or just try and get it fixed, someone help!!thanks! also, whether im connected to wifi or not, my phone is always so slow!! i dont have like any music or photos on it cause i thought that would make it work and it hasnt! i really dont wanna have to reset it!please help!!

Since I upgraded my phone to ios 6.1.2, the phone becomes slow on opening applications. Another issue is whenever the signal is searching, the phone is freezing for a moment until the signal becomes stable. This was not an issue on ios 5.1.1. This is bad..
Hi, My wifi is real slow on my iphone 5 it used to be very fast when I got the iphone i.e. 15Mbps, but after this update it dropped to 3.5mbps with exact same configuration and same router. I have other iphone4 which is still on ios5 , that still gives me 12Mbps wifi speed. What is this happening?
I am running iOS 6.1.3. Recently, and I am not sure if it is related to a recent update or not, but my download speeds have dramatically decreased. I download audio books on a regular basis and they are typically about 120mb in size. These files would typically download in a minute or so. The downloads are now taking 2 -4 hours. I installed speedtest.net to test my speed. My download speeds are ranging between .05 Mbps and .19 Mbps. My upload speeds is consistently over 5 Mbps. I thought that it might be due to my router but I connected my phone to another router with the same results. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Spencer

Anyone else having trouble with iphone 5 on Sprint Network?...I live in NC and regularly have little or no 3G service, when I am connected to 3G it is very very slow. I have contacted Sprint and done all of there trouble shooting, contacted Apple and nothing works. I have friends with Verizon and At&t with no issues, I believe there must be some type of software glitch between Apple and Sprint...very frustrating.
Any one has a fix for this?
Whatever problems the old app had, at least it allowed me to speed up or slow down the playback, as well as let me see how far along I was in listening. This new & improved Podcast app - while thankfully devoid of pointless animation - seems not to have these features any longer. I've downloaded the latest update (that makes 2 including when it lost these functions) & can find nothing in the app or in setting that restores them. I've also restarted the app, as well as the phone itself, with no change. Anyone know what's going on? Did Apple drop these features intentionally? If so, that's a huge problem for me. Thanks
I got an iphone 5 for Christmas, so around 3 months of having it, my iphone has recently been having major problems. My phone will randomly crash when doing normal things like on a phone call or on an app. The touching is really really slow and itll freeze for a couple seconds before finally realizing that I hit it. This problem was happening when I had 6.1.2 when this problem started, and now even updated with the most recent 6.1.3, its still happening. Any other 5 users expierencing this? Any ideas on what to do?

A post on the site http://binarytoad.com in the TECH category works if you're getting slow Wifi. It's not a true fix as that can only come from Apple, but it is a helpful workaround.
Hi, I have an iphone 5 (iOS 6.1.2) and a new iPad (third generation), and both devices are connected to my WiFi network. My AirPort Express runs firmware 7.6.3 and its wireless security is set to WPA2 Personal with radio mode 802.11n (b/g compatible). I cannot precise when I first notice the problem. Not sure if was before the AirPort Express update or some iOS firmware update. The problem is that my iphone 5 WiFi is deadly slow. It's virtually impossible to download an app from the AppStore or sync Rdio songs. My iPad's WiFi (and my wife's) is working as expected, though. Things I've tried so far: - I've changed my AirPort Express security to WEP- I've changed my AirPort Express to 802.11n- I've changed my AirPort Express to 802.11n 5GHz- I've reseted the Network Settings- I've tried to download apps using other 802.11n connection (at my parent's)- I've tried to download apps using a "unsecure" network- I've restored my iphone 5 to 6.1.2 using iTunes (setting it as a new iphone) I have no idea what to do next... EDIT: - I also did some tests with the Airplane mode ON, just to make sure the iphone was connected to and using the wifi connection to download the apps and sync Rdio songs.
Ever since upgrading to iOS 6.1.2 my iphone 4 has been laggy to the point of being unusable. Any app is slow n chunky, typing is painfully slow. Battery drains much faster.
Hello, My son had borrowed my iphone4 to play a game. As he had my cell he tried sync'ing it to his itunes account. His ipod touch 5th gen is jailbroken and he syn'd his of course to his itunes account all the time. After him trying to sync my iphone and me getting it back. Now it will charge on the wall charge block slowly but the sound when plugged in does not sound and the battery symbol on the display will not show or lightning bolt it's like it is not plugged in but still charges. Then when you plug it into the usb on any computer it will not sound or show it's connected and can not be found on the hard drive or itunes it will not sync, be noticed, like it's not plugged in at all. If I turn the iphone4 off at night and plug into the computer or wall charger it will charge 100% but even though the computer charges the cell it still can not be found by me in the hard drive or itunes...PLEASE HELP I have cleaned the connections, restarted, deleted and re-installed itunes & email acct's, complete delete of all and started from freash, Lots more I have done anything you can do without being able to connect it to a computer. I would not mind the slow battery re-charge I really just want to be able to connect to a computer again PLEASE HELP ME!!!
I need a calendar app that has a quick add for appointments and events, i need a way to pick a date in calendar view, then add a event or reminder or todo and even add a note with checkmarks or numbered such as 1,2,3, etc. And. One with geo location alerts for reminders about stuff as i am near the location of the area where i need to go. i have tried just about every notepad and reminder app out there some do offer the things I am looking for such as (checkmark ) or some from (appigo) but like spring-pad or life topics they have so many options and really too many choices it takes ten steps to set a reminder on those. I realize there have been many similar questions to mine, but I have not been able to find an answer to my particular situation. My iphone 4 can charge, but the lightning bolt does not show and it charges VERY slow. My phone also does not get detected by computers so I am not able to do iphone restore. This is very inconvenient and I am debating whether or not to buy a new phone. If I do it most likely will not be an iphone. All these problems began occurring after I updated from iOS 5 to iOS 6.1.2. I know iOS 6.1.2 has caused a lot of problems for people, but I have not heard anyone experiencing my problems. Is anyone else experiencing this problem or found a solution? P.S..I lost 10% battery just typing this post from my iphone :(.
My iphone 5 is sometimes slow and sometimes fast?sometimes when im using LTE on my iphone 5, my iphone 5 would slow down all of the sudden but then when i turn it off for a day its really fast. I just want to make clear I did following, I follow all articles regarding error (-1) in apple support.Updated itunes, Turn off windows firewall, Paused my antivirus, Checked host file,itunes diagnostic test,LAN connections, andTried whole process in 2 different Windows 7 pc. Restore process:Before I update to the new iOS 6.1.2, I tried using my wifi connection and it's pretty slow and not able to do it, so I downloaded iOS 6.1.2.After connect my iphone 5 to my pc, I put it on DFU mode by pressing home and power button together and it appears in recovery mode. I already downloaded iOS 6.1.2, so just holding Shift key and Browse iOS 6.1.2 start restoring my iphone 5. But at the very end it shows error (-1) and interrupt and my iphone again shows iTunes logo. Now I can't go out of DFU mode or update to the latest iOS. It's a brand new phone. It just showing itunes logo. Please help me to fix this issue.While I did the Network Connectivity Tests, I found:Secure link to iTunes Store failed. Summary:Windows Firewall is off.Connection attempt to Apple web site was successful.Connection attempt to browsing iTunes Store was successful.Connection attempt to purchasing from iTunes Store was successful.Connection attempt to iphone activation server was successful.Connection attempt to firmware update server was unsuccessful.The network connection timed out.Connection attempt to Gracenote server was successful. I tried everything but those two error got never fixed.
I just got a new iphone 5 from AT&T and it will not connect to my AT&T home wireless network. I keep getting "unable to join network "SSIDNAME". It has connected before but briefly before dropping the connection. When it does connect, the access is extremely slow. I see a thread on this issue and hope there is a fix soon.
Updated my phone yesterday to the iOS 6.1.2 & now my phone what's to run all slow.... It's really frustrating because my phone was perfectly fine til this stupid update....will like to know if I can remove it and go back to my last update....APPLE needs fix this SOON "/

When I go to work I tend to put my phone on airplane mode that way if in any case it's searching for signal it doesn't drain my battery. When I come out and turn it back on it goes to 3G but the signal doesn't work. Even though that's not the problem I give it a minute or two to "come back to life" and it works. But when I open an app it goes from having full 3G to the little circle which has super slow data speeds and doesn't load anything and then it goes back to 3G. Sometimes the phone has 3G and it won't even load anything. The battey is also an issue from what I see. Is anyone else expericing the same problem? Tips?
Help please. I have an iphone 5 that experiences slow streaming over Wi-Fi. I would say it’s started from day one and never got better. I currently own an iphone 3GS, 4S and iPad2 that don’t experience this problem. When I connect to any Wi-Fi network including Apple’s store network, after 5 mins videos played in YouTube no longer buffer or buffer very slow with jerky playback. When I switch to 3G it loads with no problems and I am not with the fastest telco. My current download speed at home is 20Mbs and I am not loading HD content. I have don’t heaps of research and tried the following:Re-set my router 2.4g and 5gTired a new router 2.4g and 5gVarious security settings on the routerRe-set my phone and restored (took 4 days)Re-set my phone and tested while in out of box stateRe-set network settings on my phoneTest it at the apple store Finally Apple replaced my phone and that too is doing the same thing, plus I think the battery has capacity issues now. Just taken another step back. As anybody got any ideas as to why I am having this issue with streaming? Is there a fix? Regards,Michael
My iphone 4 is become very slow and sluggish. Whilst typing it takes a few seconds for the characters to appear on the screen. Applications are slow. Also notice that simple taks such as taking a picture is slow. Also noticed tge battery charge is lasting long either. This has been going on for about 1 week now

I know the apps store will not give me an old version,that is why i do not use my Mac or iMac to replace the application however this has also been updated on my Macs. I reiterated in my message yesterday that,it is not that what you asked me to do is not working or i did not follow your instructions into details. I did follow every steps you stated. The end result is that, WHEN IT REACHES DATA MIGRATION,THE SCREEN WILL BE BLACK OR LIGHT BLUE BLACK,WITH A WHITE SCROLLING LINE THREAD ON THE DEVICE SCREEN,MEANING MIGRATION IS ABOUT TO TAKE PLACE. THIS WILL MOVE FOR ABOUT 2 or 3SECONDS,AND IT WILL CRASH. I have tried this several time,i do not mind starting all over again,i just want it to work with iCloud. We can give you feedback,and i praise your effort for not getting tired to respond. This is a good and real customer service assistance of which i really appreciate. My devices are up-to-date,and the application i download is the latest version. Please let's makes this application work,there is non like it on The Apps Store. Wait a few minutes before trying to enable iCloud again.- After it's done transferring the information to iCloud, wait a few minutes, then connect your 2nd device to iCloud and let it connect with the existing iCloud data. I have heard that if you don't kill the apps running in the background, they will drain your battery, slow your other apps down, and could be using your data without any warning. I've looked all over the place for a definitive answer to this, but different people and websites provide conflicting responses and I haven't found any useful information regarding this issue directly from Apple. If anyone knows whether or not having apps constantly running in the background is harmful in anyway (and has a credible resource to back up their claim) let me know and provide a link to the answer if possible.
Hello, My iphone 3GS takes an extremely long time to charge. Is there a reason for this?
My Home Key quit working again and I am using the floating button from the Accessibility options. This happened once before for a few months, then was remedied when I did a software upgrade. In addition to this, a new aberation is that the Voice Control function has run amok and is self-activating. It's calling numbers from my contacts, looking for music, cycling through screens, and photographing my Desktop over and over. I spent 3 hours on a slow connection resetting the phone and re-installing the iOS - it didn't work. Voice Control is still rampaging and the Home Key doesn't work. Any suggestions? Steve
Hi All,I used to be an Apple Genius, so have tried most routes to check this but just wanted to know if anyone else has seen this, and that it could be a problem with this version of the OS? I updated the phone to 6.1 (no damage to phone, working perfectly before update), since then it takes 3 attempts to put phone to wake of put to sleep using sleep/wake button. I have since tried a full restore (6.1) with and without restoring from back-up and the problem is still there. Anyone else seeing this? Joe
I've been using appigo's todo for several years now. It's elegant, fast, intuitive, and feature packed. One of the best things it has is the ability to drag todos around manually and their due dates change.There is one thing, however, that I wish it did. I would like the new todos to appear at the top of the todo list instead of the bottom, so I do not have to scroll through a long list to check if anything new has shown up.Are there any todo apps that do things this way?
Yesterday, I realized that my iphone 4s was running slow on our home Wi-Fi (AT&T U-Verse with a Motorola Gateway NVG510). I have the 12 Mbps plan and typically get around 11.0-11.5 Mbps on my MacBook, MacBook Air, iPad, iPad 2, etc. But, I used Speedtest yesterday after my phone felt slow and it is getting 1.5-3.0 Mbps at the most. The weird thing is that, up until now, my iphone has tested at the same 11.0-11.5 that all my other devices get. I also checked my girlfriend's 4s and hers is going slow as well (1.5-3.0 Mbps). Why are the two iPhones the only things that are going slow on Wi-Fi? I haven't changed any settings on the phone or to our home network (nor do I even know how to!). Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. I have restarted the wireless gateway and restarted both phones with no change to Wi-Fi speed.

My internet is going slow/ not working. Is it iPhones problem? i live in a town with no 3g coverage, but i do have at&t with like 2 or 3 bars right now. I get singal but no 3g. so its just internet with no 3g...is it suppose to be really raellyy slow or not work at all?

I got my iphone 4 (GSM) a couple of years back, and had never had any trouble with it. As soon as the new updates came out (this past summer), the phone has been glitching out (randomly screen going black, or closing an app by itself, super slow functioning, screen not responding to touch and home button not working anymore).Help anyone? Makes no sense why it would just stop working.. ??
