My iphone 5 freezes EVERY time I try to open contact or addedit contact and freezes up pretty much on everything I .

My iphone 5 operates at about the speed of dial-up internet.  Every time I try to do something I have to wait. My harddrive is not even close to being full and I always close out of my programs so I am confused.  It is mainly a problem with contacts (adding, editing, viewing, anything). I also occasionally hardware reset (power and home button same time) to try and help but to no avail. Is this an Apple issue that a trip to the Apple Store will take care of?  I am just sick and tired of having upgraded to an iphone 5 only to step backwards in speed and performance, plus switching over deleted over half of my contacts even though I had icloud set up on my 4 and also on my 5 so it should have been seamless.  Is my phone a lemon?

Well today i was running track and my iphone was in my bag but the rain wasnt really heavy but all my stuff still got wet and everything still works butthe sound is a little weird not much but when i play songs it dosent sound right. Please someone help

I'm planning on buying the iphone 5 because I have an upgrade available. I have never owned an iphone before, but I do have an 2gn ipod which has 8 gbs and has 2 apps and have used 5.5 of my 6.84 gbs available with songs(1175 songs). I have also have 30 photos, and have 1.5 gbs left to fill. If I do get the iphone 5 I will not put music on it, because I have my ipod. I would like to have a lot of apps though, because I like to test them out, and give reviews on them. I have a fair amount of photos in my current phone(around 400), but the camera quality is not that good, and I think because the iphone 5 have a lot more gbs than my current one that I will want to take more than I usually do(although I would probably upload them onto my computer and delete the originals off my phone). I don't have that many contacts and I have a tablet where I play my games and movies on, so that is not an issue. I know this is a bit long but I really want to make the right choice because I plan on having this phone until my next upgrade which is in 2 years. I want to know if 16gbs should be enough or if should I go with the 32gbs? OR if I should just wait for the newer version to come out, and if this is worth to buy. I would also would like to know what the perks and downsides are too. Thank you for your patience and time.

There must be something wrong with my account, because when my family and I try to download songs, apps, or updates, it at first prompts that it's installing, but then changes back into the button you press to download it (it cancels). Something I need to reset/change?

My phone will not restore properly iphone 4S

I just bought a second hand (perfect condition) iphone 4S today, the user sold it because they had upgraded to an iphone 5. The previous user did not restore the phone they just deleted all of their previous data (contacts, pictures, applacations, they left their 1,100 songs though), so I planned on restoring it later tonight to start fresh. I had it activated to my phone number at the Verizon store on my way to a family party and used it throughout today but put barely anything onto it knowing I would be restoring it tonight. I got home and plugged it into my laptop and went to iTunes found "Emily's iphone" and then hit the restore button like normal, it worked perfectly fine and went the whole 14 minutes it said it had to. Then my phone went to the "connect to iTunes" screen when it was already connected. I checked to make sure everything was plugged in correctly, and it all was perfectly fine. I tried the manual reboot (holding the home and lock buttons for a few seconds) and all it does is shut off and bring me to the same "connect to iTunes screen".. someone please tell me how I can restore my phone! Thank you,    Emily

iphone 5 seizing randomly-unable to be used

I am not the most technically inclined, so please bear with me.  About two months ago, lines began showing up in Safari every now and again. They would go away, so I didn't think too much of it. Then one night, while in a game app, the screen began "flashing" like a strobelight. It couldn't exit the app fully, was blinking half the screen in the app, part of the home screen, etc. You cannot see throught the commotion to use the phone, if the programs can even open. This happened all evening, through the night, and the entire following day. Then it stopped.  It was fine when I took it to the AT&T store (the closest Apple store is 45 minutes away, so I wanted to be sure AT&T couldn't do anything for me) but by opening and closing programs and apps, I was able to force it to act up. Of course when I left the store, it worked fine again.  It was fine for a few days, acting up only a time or two, but I drove 45 minutes to the Apple store. My Genius Bar member told me it was software based and that I should restore the phone, download the software again, and manually add my media back on. After the four+ hours of downloading and 2+ hours of adding media, it was fine again. That was about two weeks ago. Now it's back.  I looked into the diagnostics (what I can see through the noise on the screen) and I have many different errors going on. Googling these errors codes is not providing much information, and again, I am not the best with this stuff.  SO:-Is a latestcrash.plist or mediaserverd.plist the same as a panic.plist code? In turn, if they are, will Apple replace the phone as they supposedly do in the case of panic.plist crashes? -I've noticed a bunch of the issues seem related to audio and video functions on the phone. I have AudioToolbox, CoreFoundation, and CoreQuartz codes, for example. Are these things that would justify a replacement? I am sitting through another 4 hour software download right now in order to restore the phone again, but am afraid to lose that diagnostics info, but also cannot see the screen to send any diagnostics info to Apple. Is this something that is software based? Does that mean I am going to be doing this every few weeks? The phone is only 6 months old, but I don't want to let it go and loet the one year manufacturer's warranty.  I apologize for being so verbose but I really cannot find anything online that sounds similar to what my phone is doing. Any guidance would be much appreciated.

Issues after 6.1.4 update iphone 5

IS anyone else having issues after the 6.1.4 update? Here is what I have experienced in the last two days.  1- Unable to access a locked or secure network.  It asks for password initially.  When entered, it is unable to connect.  I restart and then go to Settings, find the network and click.  I never get a prompt for the password, just "Unable to Connect" 2-Bluetooth.    I can after a few attempts to connect my Bluetooth headphones, only after I get a "Failed attempt" a few times.  Then only music works, unable to make phone calls.  This happens with two different products.  A SENA SMH 10R and LG HBS 700.   3- Music play - I found this issue out when trying to figure out problem with Bluetooth.  I can start to play a song fine, but if I click on the ">>" or "<< "  it freaks the player out and then skips multiple songs or stops play and goes back to the playlist.  At first it was doing this with the Bluetooth headphones when using it to make selections.  So I deleted the devices and the iphone continued to do it when selecting functions on the screen.  Some playlists did it and some don't.  Creating a new playlist did not help.  Additional Info.Apple Store replaced my iphone on Saturday 5.4.13 because if antina issues.  The issues above came after I restored from backup and updated the OS.  I have erased the phone 2 times since getting the new phone and restored from back up and rebuilt from Itunes and neither way makes a difference above. What is going ON?   Message was edited by: Karl Kroeker  Corrected Version update

Siri won't play my playlists iphone 5

If I ask to play any of my playlists, for example "Play playlist Mix One"  or "Play playlist Five", Siri plays the first song on the playlist, and any other songs on whoever the first artist's is album, even if it's not ON that playlist!  It's as if it won't play any playlist that has different artists on it.  If I manually go in and select a playlist it works fine, but Siri won't play an entire playlist mix, just one artist.   An internet search was unhelpful.  Any ideas? Kelli

Poor battery life iphone 5

My iphone 5 has the latest ios 6.1.3 and the battery life is hit and miss. The phone has been factory wiped in itunes and re set up. It sometimes will drop 50 percent on its own in a couple hours. If i do the home button and power reset on the phone the battery will report better. Maybe its a software glitch. I was also disappointed with the fact that i bought a high end home stereo and the iphone doesnt support the new apt-x codec yet their laptops do?  Why is this. Its no wonder apple stocks are falling. I have owned every iphone since the 3gs and really have not seen any real improvements other than processors and screens. Poor customizations, lack of ability to personalize the phone and really nothing to keep me with buying another apple. This is unfortunate as the hardware is great but the feature set just hasn't improved in 5 years. In fact i think it has gotten worse. Being a communications tech i used to use wifi apps for testing signal strength on installed accesspoints and those apps got stripped be ause of apples sdk or whatever it was. The slew of apps on the android market for this is staggering. Now i see that motorola, htc and samsungs are all supporting the apt-x codec but no apple. Gps apps are poor and apple maps for our area are black and whit and half are covered in clouds from the satellite view so you cant see the streets anyways. As a business phone the iphone is looking less imoressive day by day. As a music player its also now being outdone. I hope apple takes some of this to heart and really does something impressive to IOS 7 to restore faith in its fans. And maybe some day we will be able to use one of our songs for a ring tone instead of having to pay. My old cdma phone even had this ability.

Hello, I have previously used Shoutcast radio player on Android and I liked the fact that it showed the name of the song playing.  I downloaded Shoutcast for my iphone and that feature has been removed it seems.  So my question is this:  Is there a preferabley free music app that will allow me to search for my genre of music and play that station and list names of songs? My generes of music are Metallica Stations and Soundtrack Stations.  That's what I like to listen to mostly. So is there any app out there or am I stuck with Shoutcast until they update the app?   Thank you for your assistance

The other day my iphone 5 said that storage was running out. I checked and it says that i have used up most of my gigs. I was comparing all the data I had on my phone with my roommates iphone 4 and it didn't seem to add up. On my iphone 5, I have 69 songs, 32 videos, nearly 800 photos, and 14 applications. My roommate had over 300 songs, 90 videos, 2000 photos and 14 applications. Both of the phones are 16 GB. Does the iphone 5 take larger photos or something? If it does, can i reduce the photo size?

Problems deleting Voice Memo s iphone 3G

Hello!Im new to the forum but after looking through the forums relating to this issue and trying everything suggested i still have a problem with deleteing voice memo's! The problem:My iphone has no music songs, videos etc on at all only apps and photos. I recently restored from back up but chose to add my songs manually but before i even got that far the voice memo's playlist was already on my iphone and 123 voice memo's are on the phone and are also in the "music" section of the iphone, these voice notes are from last year! I have deleted all voice memos from the app itself and also deleted all voice memos from itunes itself and then sync'd but these voice memos remain! Itunes wont let me delete the voice notes from the iphone through itunes whether that be though the playlist or through the music tab and as they dont show up anywhere on the phone im out of ideas!  Has any one got a solution? its driving me insane and its over 2GB of voice notes and i think its contributing to my 3.5GB of "other"! Any help would be greatly appreciated and apologies if this has been covered before! Thanks RinaRoo

Cant find my library iphone 3G

I just got back in an iphone after being a Droid guy for a few years and I am having an embarassing noob problem, I cant seem to find my library on my phone. First my laptop that had all my music stored on it died so i went to Bestbuy and got a new one, I signed into itunes and was able to get all of my music from the cloud, as far as "the cloud" is concerned i really no nothing about it other than it knows what I have bought and seems to back them up for me. The next week i got an iphone 5, I set it up on my pc and created a huge playlist and dragged it on over. My problem is that when I open Itunes on my phone it goes straight to the store and I cant seem to find MY library, if I go to MORE it shows DOWNLOADED and PURCHASED which contains the songs from the playlist. I dont know if im having a cloud problem, phone problem, or pc problem, can someone stear me in the right direction please.

HI, Firstly i have an iphone 4S 16GB. I understand there has been many posts about this but i'm desperate for a direct answer as to why my "other" storage is at 5.20GB. I switched from an iphone 4S to a 5 yesterday.  My contacts did not all switch.  The volume keeps resetting to the lowest amount.  When I set the volume to high, it does not set Siri's to high.  I can barely hear Siri.  I used ITUNES for a backup on my 4S.  Most of my apps wouldn't transfer, it said not enough room.  All my songs are greyed out and not playable.  I am using the same ITUNES account.  This is a NIGHTMARE.  All my email settings will not stay.  The programs keep asking for the passwords, even though they have been entered multiple times.  I read the email, then the next time I open the email account it prompts for a password.   I HATE THIS PHONE.

iphone Music won t allow songs from artist albums and compilation albums

I have bought and downloaded some albums off of iTunes recently. Some of these are normal 'artists albums' ie they are the offfical artists release, and some of them are compilation albums. My Music app won't let me have any songs which are duplicates. If I download the song on the artists album it removes the song from the compilation album and vice versa. Why is this and is there a way to fix it? Thanks

  Hello,In February I got a white iphone 5 32GB Verizon company. The device was purchased at Apple Store Galleria in Fort Lauderdale. The device has a light leak under the lock button, Also have a strange problem that exists only in my house, it connects to wifi whenever the mood strikes him.I currently hold two iPhones 5, one 16 GB purchased in Israel and one of Verizon - the device was bought in Israel and another two devices 4s bought in Orlando work really well on the wireless network, while the iphone's Verizon shows one bar of wifi and moves very fast to the 3g local network.I unplugged the modem and reset the network settings on the device and it did not help ): In a month and a half I'll fly to Tampa, Florida. If want to replace the device should come with the original receipt?Or they will see that it was purchased from them by its serial number? the reception is under the name of my uncle.   The most important thing about it: I have 280 songs on my iphone, if I replace the iphone they can pass the songs to the new new phone?   If I decide to replace the iphone, I will get a new device out of the box and the same model (verizon a1429 CDMA) and size (32 GB)?The iphone is brand new or refurbished? Suddenly can't sync songs from iTunes to iphone other help topics suggestions not helping me

Everytime I try to sync any of my songs onto my iphone 4, I get an error message that says: "Some of the items in the iTunes library, including "(song name)", were not copied to the iphone "iphone Name" because they could not be found." and then it stops syncing. It says there are 13 problems. Then when you expand to see the files, each one says: "(song name)"" was not copied to the iphone "iphone Name" because it could not be found." It can be any song, an old song from 7 years ago that I got off Limewire, or a song from a CD, or it can be a song I paid for from the iTunes store. Doesn't matter. Couple weeks ago, I had no problems. Purchased new songs and had them in playlists on my phone. Then a couple days ago, I plugged my iphone into the computer (to charge it), and suddenly my songs were removed off the iphone. So I tried to put them back on, kept getting this error. So I googled it. I have spent the past 4 days TRYING to get things to work. I have looked through all the other similar questions, and tried suggestions on there. Nothing is working. - There is no exclamation point beside any of my music.- I have not changed the hard drives (I don't use my computer daily, probably once a week), (Windows is up to date also).- I have tried re-adding the songs to the library.- Everything still plays in iTunes.- If I click on the file in its location, it will open it and play it in iTunes. - I tried deauthorizing my account then reauthorizing it, didnt work.- I have even removed all my music off my phone to see if that works, now I have 15 songs on it. I did find it odd that when I looked in my purchased playlist, they were not there, but they are on the computer and on the purchased list (under the iTunes store on the side menu). At least I can use my iPod for when I'm in the car, but now I have to carry that around too, I'm getting quite frustrated. Normally I'm quite computer savvy, but I'm totally stuck on this one. And like most people, I rely on my iphone WAY to much and let the little things affect my daily life. I hope SOMEONE can please help me?!? (I don't know if it may even have to do with the fact that yesterday I finally got my iphone updated to the latest IOS, (cuz I was finally able to download the update from iTunes... Unless that was a separate update) the one where it's like "do you want to cancel, download only, download and install").

Is there anyway you can 'transfer' the songs in your iTunes library to your iphone without having to connect the iphone to your Macbook? I don't see how I can use iCloud to do so, and I believe iTunes Match(?) is the only option, yet it must be paid for.   Reason I ask: I think my Port is defected and I already have problems charging my iphone 4S. 1.) To charge in the Car: I first must turn off my iphone, then connect it to the car charger. the iphone will turn on as usual, and will charge while On.  2.) To charge in the House: I must connect the iphone to the cord/charger that's already plugged in the wall outlet, then turn the iphone off; it will ONLY charge while off.3.) iphone will not connect, nor be recognized when plugged into Macbook.  I'm unsure what the issue is with that.. some say it's the battery, I haven't came across any discussions mentioning a defected port. unfortunately, there is not an Apple Care location in my area!  however in the meantime, is there ANYWAY I could get my iTunes Library music from my Macbook to my iphone without having to connect them both?

Alright APPLE.ITUNES 11 *****.STOP UPDATING YOUR STUFF BECAUSE IT'S ONLY GETTING WORSE. I was trying to add literally TWO songs to my phone from a laptop that I had authorized my account on and whatever, and I didn't know how to add stuff on without DELETEING EVERYTHING, which is THE ONLY OPTION ON ITUNES.  So I looked up some stuff on how to do so, and guess what, everything got deleted anyways, except for things I purchased. Stuff from albums, which is what my music library on my phone was 99% made up of got deleted. I pressed manually backup phone, and then everything except for 19 songs, which are songs I purchased from the iTunes on my phone disapeared, and so I'm pretty sure theres a copy of my music somewhere. Please help!

iphone 5 WiFi deadly slow

Hi, I have an iphone 5 (iOS 6.1.2) and a new iPad (third generation), and both devices are connected to my WiFi network. My AirPort Express runs firmware 7.6.3 and its wireless security is set to WPA2 Personal with radio mode 802.11n (b/g compatible). I cannot precise when I first notice the problem. Not sure if was before the AirPort Express update or some iOS firmware update. The problem is that my iphone 5 WiFi is deadly slow. It's virtually impossible to download an app from the AppStore or sync Rdio songs. My iPad's WiFi (and my wife's) is working as expected, though. Things I've tried so far: - I've changed my AirPort Express security to WEP- I've changed my AirPort Express to 802.11n- I've changed my AirPort Express to 802.11n 5GHz- I've reseted the Network Settings- I've tried to download apps using other 802.11n connection (at my parent's)- I've tried to download apps using a "unsecure" network- I've restored my iphone 5 to 6.1.2 using iTunes (setting it as a new iphone) I have no idea what to do next... EDIT: - I also did some tests with the Airplane mode ON, just to make sure the iphone was connected to and using the wifi connection to download the apps and sync Rdio songs.

How can I delete music off my phone while on my phone iphone 5

I'm almost out of space on my phone, and I only want certain music on it--not my entire iTunes library. I even bought iTunes Match so that the majority of my music could be in the cloud and I could still access it without it taking up unneeded space on my phone. Is there a way to delete specific songs, or artists, or albums, or whatever off of the iphone 5 on the phone itself? I know you used to be able to just swipe your finger length-wise along a song and it would give you the option to delete the song (and you could do this with any section in the Music app e.g. artist, album, etc.). But I seem to be unable to do this anymore. And even then when I could delete individual selections, when I synced my phone to iTunes it would just redownload the music. I want to keep only certain songs on my phone in the Music app and only put others on if I specifically mean to do so. So basically, is there any way for me to do this? to keep only the bare necessities on my phone and not have others downloaded automatically?Thanks!

Mail only working over Cellular no WiFi Networks. iphone 3G

A couple of days ago my Mail service at home stopped working. I only can receive Emails when I switch off WiFi and use my AT&T 4G. At home I am using a whole Apple enviorment and all my devices (iPad mini (6.1.1), iphone 4S (6.1.2), iPad (5.1.1), MacBook Pro (10.8.2)) can not receive Emails. When I am going to iCloud.com I can send and receive mails on my Mac, but over the OS X Mail.app and iOS Mail.app nor receiving nor sending works. I am using several Accounts on all deveices (iCloud, Yahoo!, Google and AOL) most of them are not working, only AOL received one mail yesterday. My first thought was of course the WiFi network which might have problems with the Apple Mail program, but I already tried another network with my iphone. In this other network I am getting an error on my iphone which tells me "Cannot get Mail. Connection to server failed." On my Mac at home mail.app tells me that my account are offline and that there might be a problem with iCloud, for more information visit iCloud support etc. Yes I did restart my deveices, yes I tried deleting and adding the mail account, yes I tried restarting the WiFi and yes I did that with iOS and OS X.

This has never happened to me before and I have had my iphone for a couple years now. Just today I bought a couple albums on my mac through iTunes and they downloaded just fine. I have iCloud so they were automatically transferred to my phone. When I go to listen to the songs I found that they won't play. There is a gray box on the far right next to the song title. It won't play and after a little while it just skips to the next song. The weird thing is some songs did download all the way and work just fine. Please help!!!!

apple maps and google maps not working on 3GE Cellular Network iphone 3G

I am getting around 8mbps speeds on my (T-Mobile) 3G network on my iphone 5 (A1429)  Browsing internet on safari is very fast as well.  songs are streaming well on spotify. But the APPLE MAPS & GOOGLE MAPS never load directions (cannot reach server ) they work perfectly fine when on Wi-Fi  I tried all the tweaks in the discussion  "https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1598582?start=30&tstart=0"    NO LUCK Anyone has the same issue or know the fix ?

After iOS6 upgrade bluetooth function limited iphone 4S

Hi After upgrading to iOS6 my iphone 4S has problems with my car stereo.  Alpine CDE135BT Before upgrade (5.1.1) I could easily pair my phone with the car stereo. The stereo started playing music as soon as it was connected, and I could pause and change songs trough the car stereo. After update I can only send the sound to my car stereo trough bluetooth. But the ability to change songs and play/pause on the stereo has been lost. What gives? DoAe

what you if an app won t launch iphone 3G

I may have messed up my wife's iphone. I connected it to my computer and it synched on my iTunes, adding a number of apps from my iphone to hers. Now her Facebook app won't launch. You touch it, and the phone thinks for a second, then just returns to the home screen. Is there a way to deal with this other than deleting the app and reinstalling it?

Why my storage so low iphone 3G

Okay, I have a iPhone4 8GB, and a little while ago my storage got full on my phone (no shocker as i had had about 700 pictures, a dozen apps, and about 200-300 songs) so i downloaded my current photos to my computer and deleted them from my phone. That was fine for a while, and then my phone was quickly full again. So this time, I deleted a few apps but it cleared up little space so then I deleted my now 200 pictures. eventually, I was down to 170 pictures, 4 apps, and 150 songs. Still full, i deleted a few albums and songs and i was down to 100 and my storage was still full, so i deleted all but 20 pictures (ones that I need/use on a daily basis) and it's still full. All of my apps are essential to my daily life (no I don't even have any social media apps or games) so I don't want to delete them as they hold storage from eight or more months ago. But i'm going on vacation next weekend and would like room on my phone to take pictures. I don't know what to do as I'm down to my minimum (what I use everyday) in pictures, apps, and music. So, if anyone has a diagnosis to this problem it would be much appreciates (I don't have time to make it to the apple store this week while I have school, work, and get ready to go away)

iphone 5 alarm clock pop-up

I have the iphone 5 and I keep getting a pop-up when I change my alarm times. It keeps asking me if I want to download over cellular network. I do use songs from my library, but I don't understand why I need to download or what exactly I'm downloading.

I updated my iphone 5 to iOS 6.1.2 and now my music won't play. It just skips through all my songs and doesn't make a sound. How do I fix this?

Old podcasts not getting deleted iphone 3G

Why is it on all my iOS devices when ising the Podcast APP I chose in the setting to keep only unlistened podcasts but what happens is they remain on my device but only get removed from the unplayed list in the Podcast APP itself. You can plainly see how much content is stored on the device when I connect to itunes it shows that I have hardly any space left. Also when I connect via USB to my car  the radio displays that I have 343 songs on the device when I actually have only about 30 songs and the rest are old podcasts left hidden by the Podcast App that should have been deleted. Please make a fix available in the next update...
