iphone 5 not ringing or alerting of texts calls going to voice mail

My iphone 5 recently started having problems with the ringer.  The ringer will be turned all the way up, the mute button is NOT being used and the phone will not ring for calls or alert for texts.  It is not always happening, but more so than not.  I have tried rebooting the phone, the OIS is up to date and I do not have the "Do Not Disturb" set.  I can be in the same spot with LTE and full signal have a call/text that is missed then receive a call/text and it rings.  Does not seem to matter if the call is coming from a land line, same Verizon carrier cell or different carrier cell there is no noticable reason.  Any ideas???

I left my iphone 5 on my night stand over night and when I woke up, the phone said SIM FAILURE and instead of the carrier name it said INVALID SIM.I tried re-booting and it didnt work, then I took the sim out and placed it back in again and it still didnt work, so I restored my iphone and it still doesnt work and now I cant even enter the phone since you need a working sim card to activate it HELP ME PLEASE!!

Okay so first my iphone 4s had a storage problem. So I bought an iphone 5 and restored my old settings to the iphone 5. Sadly that carried over the storage bug to my new phone. I went and reset all of the factory settings and started from scratch. I have now fixed my storage problem, but I made this a new iphone, and did not restore from a back up this time. I set it up with the same phone number of course, expecting it to take in my contacts from my cell phone number. I sync everything, and my contacts are there. But they aren't MY contacts....they're my mom's.... So how can I get rid of her contacts and import mine. I tried turning off iCloud contacts and deleting them, and turning it back on. But its the same. Help!?

my iphone 3gs had lower version of iOS and i wasnt able to download watsapp. during downloading its says update iOS 4.3 and i did connect my phone with iTunes. and i did fully update with 6.1.3 version.now I not able to activate my iPhone3GS after updated to ios6.1.3. The message said the activation server is unavailable but it has been unavailable for more than 24hours. It's abnormal, please help. HELP S card not compatible after being in Apple store iphone 5

I went to an Apple store with my 3gs as i have a few problems the girl restored my phone back to factory settings.  When i came home i conected my phone to itunes it says  only compatible sim cards from a supported carrier may be used to activate iphone.  please insert the sim card that came with your iphone or visit a supported carriers store to receive a replacement sim card. my sim card is inserted so has the girl that works at the apple store broke my phone.  can someone please help as i live quite a bit away from an apple store. Ashley

Hi there, Im scott, I dont own an iphone so know nothing whatsoever about them. this is our issue pls help :   My sister purchased an iphone 4 from a woman at her work. Her husband upgraded to iphone 5 so sold his old one to my sister. My sister currently has a blackberry on contract to virgin media here in England. She took her BB along with her new iphhone to a local phone shop They cut her simcard down to size and put it into the iphone. When we turned it on we got this message 'only compatible sim cards from a support carrier....... '  I called our current contract to exdplain what we were intending to do and swap settings from a blackberry to her new iphone... they said we needed to contact the original service provider... here lies our issue.  My sister works as a nurse.. she called her collgue to explain all this and ask what network he was on. She doesnot kno and her husband isnt home for another cpl weeks he is military. My sister doesnt want to wait a few weeks to use her new phone. Is there anyway to unlock and activate this phone giving all the detials of the phone and confirmation from his wife regarding the new user ?  Ive read on the internet about jailbraking and all that nonsense.. but i dont want to damage the phone.. It isnt stolen isnt lost sureley i dont have to 'hack' into a perfectly legitimate phone to use do i?   My sister simply wants it to work with her contracted sim .. with the benifits and features iphone offers. iphone 4s Water damage. earpods work but no speaker

I dropped it in water.. for the third time. The speakers do work, when i activate siri it works and registers my voice, and earphones work aswell. Sometimes the volume slider will show up, but goes away in seconds. I restored phone, riced it overnight, used credit card to try and clean out the ports and q-tip in headphone jack. What else is there to do to fix this?!

I have an iphone 5... I cannot make calls or receive calls. I reset network settings and  I have reset the SIMS card and I am still having the same problem.  My husband is on the same cell service as I am and he is not having any problems.    When I try to make a call - it goes directly to call ended - when people try to call me it goes directly to my voice mail. on the left hand side at the top all it says is seraching - my wifi is connected... i also keep getting NO Service..  Can anyone help? Thanks

This one has me stumped...My wife iphone 5 has an extreme battery drain issue, but it only happens at her workplace. If she turns off wifi and cell data the battery drain still happens, but if she puts it in airplane mode the battery doesn't drain. If she is at home, she has no problems at all with all connections turned on. Any ideas?

hello everyone i just got my mothers old iphone 4s(believe it is a 4s rather then just a 4) and i called into orange (UK carrier) and i got the sim i called an activated it all fine put sim in phone try to activate the phone, and it won't let me keeps telling me my sim is invalid anyone know how to fix this, they did say that i would get texts about the sim over the next 12 hours and it would take a little time for it change from my old phone but my old phone is already saying no service which means it's been transfered over

My phone won't activate iphone 4S

I have an iPhone4s, and earlier I decided to reset my phone back to "square one" (factory settings) to clear up some space and get rid of unwanted apps/music/etc I had on my phone... Once I 'reset' my phone, it brought me to the initial, brand new, out-of-the-box stage of the iphone. I was able to get past the first 2 'questions' (language & country) and then it gave me the option to activate via wi-fi or celluar service, I tried both (numerous, NUMEROUS times) and no matter what I do or where I go my phone will NOT activate. It's been going on 12 hours now, I need my phone back!!  Thank you to anyone who can help!

I just purchased the iphone 5 coming from a Samsung Galaxy S3. Where I work, I do not receive cell phone service so I rely heavily on the WiFi to receive emails and iMessages.  I've noticed that if the phone sits for a few minutes, the wireless will shut itself off and as soon as I press the home or power button, the wireless kicks in and I get a flood of iMessages and an e-mail chime.  On the Samsung, there was an option to keep the wireless on all the time and my question is: Is there a way to keep the phone connected to a WiFi connection all the time so I don't get a delay in messages and emails? I know battery life will suffer and that isn't an issue to me. I just need it to stay connected so I'm not replying to messages 2 hours later when I pick up the phone.  Thanks,

Bluetooth connection causing iphone not to sound ring iphone 4S

Suddenly it's gotten so that my iPhone4S (on Verizon) isn't ringing when Bluetooth is on.  It does get calls on the screen and it does make sound otherwise.  I turn Bluetooth off, and it always rings now.I suspect this may be particular with the Pansonic land-line headset/bluetooth connection I use.  It was great when working in that my land lines would ring (with the sound of my cell ringtone no less) and I could get cell calls on any headset in the house.  It used to work all the time (For several months at least and perhaps my bluetooth on this phone isn't as strong as the old 3GS?)Something to look out for if your phone stops ringing and can't otherwise be explained or fixed by resets etc.

Except for the invisible moderator who's only apparent job is to zap you if you get out of line. We're just ordinary customers with nothing better to do to while the time away. What we may think or do is of little concern to Apple (provided we continue buying the goods).

Had to restore phone. It's stuck at activate. All started with backing up told to update update told error restore told couldn't complete. iphone 4S

I went to backup phone on desktop.  Got message that I needed to update.  Back-up first.  After backup, went to update system.  As it was in process of updating, said there was an error and would have to restore.  Phone showed image of usb connected to phone.  Only alternative seemed to be to restore.  Followed directions to restore, then started reactivation process.  got as far as third step and then got error message athat " Your iphone could not be actiated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable. Try connecting your iphone to iTunes to activate it, or try again in a couple of minutes." I did try to connect with itunes but get an error message there as well.  "Your request couldn't be processed.  We are sorry but there was an error processing your request.  Please try again later." This has been going on for over an hour. How do I get the phone reactivated and restored to its programs?

i bought my ipone 4 about a month ago it was working fine then my network connection started to pay up so i reset my network settings after resetting like it does it went into recovery mode i managed to get it out of recovery mode i turned the phone off after cause it wasn't finding my service provider after turning it back on it went into recovery mode once again this time i wasn't able to get it out so i connected it to itunes done a full restore back to factory and now it won't activate ive tryed everything and it still wont work and no before anyone askes it hasn't been jail broken i have restored it a few time before cause i updated it the ios 6 then it wouldn't let me get it out and since the ios 6 update it has been in recovery mode twice and now it wont regiser even tho i have before any help would be great thanks

Problem activating iphone 4 on new network.

Hello, I have received an iphone 4 from a friend who has recently upgraded, he is on vodafone and I am on Giffgaff both in the UK. He has been in touch and been granted a factory unlock from his network for me, although when he originally retired the handset he did a full "as new" restore through iTunes. I cannot activate the phone with my sim as it's not the original carrier but therefore also cannot get beyond the activation of the handset in order to "apply" the factory unlock through iTunes.  Is there anyway around this problem or will I have to borrow/acquire a Vodafone sim to firstly activate and then update through iTunes? Or am I getting the wrong end of the stick altogether? Help much appreciated!

Hi, I ahve purchased my iphone 4 in August 2011 and it fell down from my hand and since then I am not able to connect to Apple Server and active my iphone. I went to all available Apple Techncial Support Centers here but now use. Scree, Camera and all other hardware are working but when I start my iphone and connect with iTune to activate it says your iphone is damaged. Now, I am going to visit Dallas, TX coming week, all Iwanted to know if Apple Genius bar will help me to repair this iphone there or will they replace this iphone after paying some bucks? If they would replace that then how much I mught have to pay them?

Lost iphone

Hi, Yesterday I lost my iphone 5 which I bought 3 months back... I filled a police complaint, but i am not very hopeful with them. As Indian police will never make a move to find a cell phone. Anyways, Fortunately the "find my iphone" app was there in the phone and the location services were enabled with data. I tried to find it out from icloud.com portal but cell seems to be offline. And on calling the cell it is switched off. The only thing which I did not do in my iphone was to set a passcode. I am not sure how does the app behaves if some one restarts the phone. Is it possible for the thief to erase all data despite the app being active on the phone? Is it possible for the thief to use the phone by reseting it to factory setting without me getting location of the phone? I saw in one of the youtube tutorials that the phone will switch on and it ill try to find the data network, and if it finds data then it will send me intimation and blocks the cell. however, what is the scenario if the thief dont use the data and put on the phone? Or if he uses a SIM that does not have data connection? Can they reuse my phone. Can I do anything to prevent them using my iphone. I am trying to get my phone's IMEI number on tracking but dont know if it works before they reprogram my cell.( if at all they have so much brain). Please share your comments, views and suggestions and let me know the answers to the questions which I have asked. Thanks Abhishek Sinha

After update I was getting manny issues like 1611 error, restored to factory settings, now I am not able to bypass activation screen. Phone is locked to ATT,never been unlocked, I cant find my ATT card, is there any way to activate it without using ATT sim ?

I have an iphone 4s boxed, brandnew and unopened for a year not until March 2013, for a couple of days i have used it, worked excellent but after i have unlocked it through at&t and updated it to IOS 6.1.3 it went to re-activation mode again. Tried several times to activate it but no succeess. I went to an apple store to discuss the problem of the update and consequently the result it brought to my iphone4s but denied a replacement because it was passed the warranty period. I was offered a replacement (for a fee) of $200 but i refused since i believe i havent enjoyed the iphone for years, has not even dropped, water-damaged nor scratched. The manager on duty (Mary, Fairview Mall, Ontario) insisted that my iphone 4s has a growing software problem already and i just dont know of... I reiterated to her that the unit was working as brandnew just like many of my apple products i have.  I havent called the apple support telephone support though. What should i do now? Please help guys. I cannot take it paying another $200 for an iphone that was practically brandnew and went useless after the update. I have a record of the at&t authorized unlocking request.  Should i escalate the appeal to where? Please help.. Thanks a lot guys.
