Hi, I am new to this forum so i apologise in advance for not following any rules thats set. I have a Iphone 5, 16 GB for 6 months and for the past month or so i've been having issues with the microphone. 1. During a call if i want to use loudspeaker the mic cuts out so the person on the other end can not hear what i am saying, yet while during a call off loudspeaker they can hear me fine. 2. Siri can not detect anything i say or any noise what so ever when i try to use siri, but can when using a headset. 3. When trying to use voice to text in messages no speech is detected. When using a headset under all three of these, they work fine, calling someone works fine aslong as i don't use loudspeaker.i have tried to restore the phone to see if this corrects the problems but no luck. The firmware version is 6.1.4, on EE 4G. Any help with this is appriciated. Tyler.
I did got a update, witch were ment to improve the loudspeaker functions. After installing that, there were no more sound in internal speaker!I have to use loadspeaker, headset or bluetooth headset, to hear when talking anybody on phone. There was no problem with this before the update!!How can I get the Iphone to work normal again?
I recently upgraded from 4s to 5. I'm experiencing issues with the bluetooth transmission/receive range. When I'm running with the iphone on my arm my wireless headset quite often drops the connection. Same problem when I'm using bluetooth with My car. I can't have the phone in My pocket while driving, I must put it between My seats, otherwhise the connection drops. Had no problem like this with My 4 or 4s, so I convinced it's something with iPhone 5. Anyone else? Is it a hardware or software issue?
My iPhone5 has touchscreen problem, it's started around 2 weeks ago, tortured me, even I can't use it now. Every day, around 7:00-10:00am (sometime it occurred at noon), the touchscreen totallly no reaction, even can't unlock it. I only can chat wit siri -_-''', take phone with headset. I did what I can do to fix it, but doesn't works.. Forced Reset (Hold Home + Power)Restore iPhone via ituneRestore iPhone via itune with FirmwareClear touchscreen -_-'''Del all appsWipe all dataTurn off it, couple hours later, turn on phone (Some time, it is works. But when I can't turn off power usually.)... This problem occurred randomly, when I going to visit apple store, the phone works fine. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? So, I can't exchange a new one back. Anyone has idea how to fix it? or anyone could give me some instruction? Or anyone faced same problem but solved it finally? I have vedio record when the problem happened, so can i show Genius the vedio when i go to apple store? Thanks for all.
I use iPhone 4 32GB. I upgrade the iOS from 5.1.1 to 6.1.3. On the previous iOS, i don't have any problem. But after i upgrade my phone, my right headset doesn't work. I've clean the jack, plug, etc; I've tried to change the sound settings, music setting, etc, but it doesn't change anything. My headset still mute, exactly the right side. The left one is still okay. I've tried to plug another jack and nothing change. Anybody help :'(
Is there a way to bypass Siri when using a bluetooth headset to make a call? I press the call button on my headset (Plantronics M50), but I still must touch the Siri mike icon on the iPhone 4S to verbally make the call.
My Iphone 5 for some reason will not locate via Bluetooth my IPAD 2 or my Bluetooth headset,My previous Iphone 4 had not issues with this, My Iphone 5 seems to locate devices but nothing of which I own
Suddenly it's gotten so that my iPhone4S (on Verizon) isn't ringing when Bluetooth is on. It does get calls on the screen and it does make sound otherwise. I turn Bluetooth off, and it always rings now.I suspect this may be particular with the Pansonic land-line headset/bluetooth connection I use. It was great when working in that my land lines would ring (with the sound of my cell ringtone no less) and I could get cell calls on any headset in the house. It used to work all the time (For several months at least and perhaps my bluetooth on this phone isn't as strong as the old 3GS?)Something to look out for if your phone stops ringing and can't otherwise be explained or fixed by resets etc.
What is the best stereo bluetooth headset for the iPhone5 ? Thanks for advice !
Having troubles with the iPhone 4 and (re)pairing a Motorola H3 bluetooth headset. These two worked beautifully just last week in 2010.Bluetooth on phone working fine with another headset, so next step:1. Select Motorola H3 in Bluetooth menu2. Forget this DeviceThen, power-down the Motorola H3, and turn on while holding the phone button down until the led is continuously lit (pairing mode)The Motorola H3 appears in the Bluetooth Devices list with the status "Not Paired" and when selecting - produces the error:Connection UnsuccessfulMake sure "Motorola H3" is turned on and in rangeWhat's missing is the pairing passcode entry - weird! Thought it may be related to leftover data, so reset the iPhone (home button and power button) to clear the memory and remove any residue.Did not solve.
My blooth's I phone 5 does not conect with Bose® A20® Aviation headset How can I manage ??
I am looking to purchase the Nike Fuel Band, but I currently am using a Bluetooth Audio Radio with my iPhone. It is a Pioneer XBH-5500 2013 model that handels my audio and my bluetooth handsfree calling in my car. At the same time, I sometimes use a pair of bluetooth stero over-the-head headset to listen to music. I am wanting to know if there will be any issue with the performance of the Nike Fuelband tracking my performance, showing me time and/or anything else if I have another device paired with my iPhone 5?
the speaker on my Iphone doesn't work. I can't play music externally. I can listen on a headset. I can talk on the phone, just cant listen to it any suggestions Thanks Marc
Since yesterday my iPhone4 speaker does not work anymore. If I use the volume buttons the regular volume overlay does appear but the actual volume bar is missing. There is no sound in apps, key sounds etc. If I put in my headset it does work fine over the headset. Telephon does work fine. Only the speakers seem to be broken. Is this a software issue or do I have to send my iPhone to apple?
Dears, i was using my iphone5 normally and suddnly speakers start to noise and its not working well headset and normal calls are fine i am just facing this issue on the speakers when ringing or if recived messege i am sure that no water got in in and i didnt hit it. it was working normally and i got this issue after i updated the software to 6.1.3firmware 3.04.25
Updated my I phone 5 with iOS 6.1.3 now it's stuck in headset mode????
I have just purchased an iPhone 5 specifically for business calls and intend to use a Bluetooth headset. However I continually read on the web of comments to the effect that Apple's Bluetooth Software has drop out faults. Is this true and if so when will it be solved?
I see a lot of people have this issue. What are the answers from Apple when you complain about this? I was one of the first ones to get one. It is a white 64GB and it has been in my purse or in a flat surface all of the time, unless in my hands. It hasn't dropped. Reading on the web has made me realize that this really is a problem with the phone. It is bent on the side where the volume buttons are located. I returned it to the store I bought it today, curious what they will say. Either they will blame me for causing it, or actually admit it is a problem with iphone % in general.I used the phone shortly before buying a bumper. I put the bumper on (this was yesterday, bought the phone in october) and an hour later I could not hear what people calling me were saying. They heard me juts fine, and also when using the headset I can hear..
Tried the headest shutter release in camera on the Iphone 5 and it does not seem to be working. Is anyone else having the same issue? This with the new headset model. Thanks
I've tried inserting and removing a headset, but it didn't fix the problem. I have never used a headset on this phone, so not sure how it got into headset mode. Any suggestions?
i got my iphone 5 just two months agoi notes that the internal headset which mean the mean headset in the phone it self stop working with no reason usually that is happening when i try to place a call , i cannot hear the other side . to solve the issue i use the speaker phone ..but i cannot keep doing thati thought in the beginning that is maybe because the ear-set are not ejected properly .. but it seems not the case .. so what should i do . and i don't have the apple care
i have updated my iphone 4S to iOS 6.1.1 update but noticed no sound is coming out from the external speaker after the update (ringer / music / sounds). Tried toggling mute buttons, clean dock connector, plug/unplug headset but no luck. Yesterday, I have updated to latest update IOS 6.1.2 but still no luck. Did hard reset / restore.... restore and another series of hard resets but still no luck. It seems like its a software problem since I never had this issue prior to updating my iphone. Appreciate advice/suggestion. Thanks
i tried other earphones but the right earpiece is also not working, then i tried another earphone but it has the same result so i suspect that its not the headset but the phone itself help please
I have found several threads about the microphone not working right but none like as follows. When i place or recieve a call on my iphone 4s in typical operation (no bluetooth / speakerphone etc) the other end of the call is treated to a large amount of high pitch noise and whistling sounds. If I put it on speakerphone everything works correctly, or if i plug in a headset everything works correctly. I saw a thread about blasting out the noise cancelling mic hole by the headphone jack and i blasted the bejezus out of it using compressed air for several minutes to no avail. The phone has had no big drops or water damage and is usually chillin in its case. The other thing i noticed is if i call my desk phone and i tap the top of the phone i can hear the tapping but if i tap the bottom of the phone i dont. So the noise cancelling mic is fucntional. It basically sounds like a screaching horrible sound when have it in normal mode on the other end. I can hear people fine.
I hear a lot of static noise on iPhone5 during calls, the sound quality the peer hears is okay. The static noise is always regardless of whether I am using the built in speaker, blue tooth headset, etc.I live in Israel, and purchased the phone in the USA (on online Apple Store), if need to replace the HW then how can I replace it?
The headset and audio jack hardware of iphone 4/4s is different from iphone5?
When using a bluetooth headset, music will start playing after hangin up the phone call. It is the last song listened to on my iPhone (usually from the Nike fitness app). Pretty annoying. Any solutions?
I got a tiny acrilic ball inside the place where you put the headset of the Iphone 4! How can I retrieve it???
I have now tried my 3rd BT headset on my iphone 5(two of which were working perfect with my iphone 4) and a new one today(Plantronics Marque2, latest and greatest) and randomly during a call, get a loud glich in my ear and the connection drops and the call goes back to the iphone. This happens numerous times per day. I thought it was the headset going dead at first till I switched to a second one, same problem, then we today and got a new one and 2/3 calls, same problem. Its really making me angry. You can't get the call back on the headset after it drops, have to reboot headset. Anyone else having this problem. IOS is up to date.
Having problem with iphone 4s, trying to get the Beats by Dr Dre headset to work correectly. Does anyone know what needs to be done to get the headset to work with the iphone 4s?
My phone works fine normally. Occasionally calls connect and neither party can hear one another but on the whole it's normally okay. I have dropped my phone a few times, once causing a small crack on the top left hand corner. The problem I'm now having is that whenever I use a headset the microphone on my phone doesn't work. To begin with I thought it was the headset but I've tried a few now and have the same problem. I tested this using the voice memo function on my phone. My voice was picked up better when holding the phone to my ear (with headset still plugged in) and was quieter when speaking into the headset. I couldn't hear myself at all when covering the mic on the bottom of the phone and speaking into the headset. I'm not sure if it's a hardware or software problem or how I can go about getting it fixed. Help please!
Everyone I talk to on my iPhone 5 say the back ground noise is very loud and it is worse on the apple headset. I see the commercial says the new 5 is designed to cancel background noise. Is there a microphone adjustment?
When I am using my iPhone 5 with the headset, the person I am talking with hears all the backgound noise. Additionally, many words of the person I am talking with get cut off. This is particularly bad when I am talking in a noisy environment. Without the headset, everythng is fine. This is a huge problem for me, and this did not happen using my iphone 4 with headset. I have called Verizon and they said Apple is aware of the problem and that Apple sent Verizon an inernal memo on 12/12/12 that they are aware of the problem and that it will be fixed in the next Software update according to Verizon and that it's a software issue. They do not have a date for the Software Update and I am debating whether I should return the iphone 5 while I still have the thrirty day return policy
I am not able to hear from my headset on iPhone 4S (earphones unplugged), but only able to hear on speaker for all the phone calls, please help if this can be resolved by changing any settings from iPhone 4S?
I received an iPhone 5 for Christmas and today I noticed one dead pixel near the top/middle of the screen. It is hardly noticeable if you are glancing at the phone, but now that I know it is there, my eye automatically goes to it. I take very good care of my devices and hate when they get a scratch, so this is really irritating me! My sister bought the phone from AT&T, but I was curious if Apple would replace the phone at a store? I called them today and it seems like they will replace it for me, but I am worried once I meet with a "genius" tomorrow they will tell me something different. Anyone else ever have this issue and have it resolved without any headaches? I think the worst part is that my nearest Apple store is in a mall. Not looking forward to it! Also, should I bring everything that came with the phone (headset, USB, Wal Adapter), or just the phone?
My iPhone 4S will not play sound either through the speakers or the headset. I have tried the obvious solutions no volume control will even show when I attempt to adjust it and the volume bar has now disappeared from the music application. Can anyone advise on a fix for this issue? Is it something I can fix or would I be better off getting a repair?
I purchased an iPhone5 not knowing that there is an issues with the bluetooth connecting to my headset/computer. With the computer I get an error message that this "device is not supported". I would like to be able to connect my headset with my phone to when I am driving. Any ideas?
I am trying to pair an X3 micro Bluetooth headset with my new iPhone 5. I can't get past the "Searching- Now Discoverable" screen. This worked on my iPhone 4. Any suggestions?
During phone conversation, using the i-Phone 5 and headset, the audio is fading in and out. It is not possible to understand. The other side is understanding my voice without problem. After removing the headset, the phone works fine. Any suggestion what the problem might be or how to fix this. Thanks
Everything I try and make a call I have to use the headset or speakerphone. Otherwise it won't work. Is there anything I can do?
Hi, I have a Iphone 4I cannot hear people through the speakerwhen they call me. I can hear music through the speaker but no sound through the phone speaker. Also, when i plug in a headset i can then hear the personI have tried the volume and switched the phone on and off. Any suggestions.
When I have a headset plugged into my iPhone 5 the incoming audio is cutting out every few words. I tried using a different headset that I know works properly it does the same thing. I've tried resetting my phone and tried using it in different environments, but got the same results. Curiously, music and podcasts come through perfectly. Is anyone else running into this issue with their iPhone 5?
Hi, I thought id ask around here if somebody could help me. I have an iphone4 and recently ive been having problems while im on a call with somebody. I can hear the person on the other side fine but they cant hear me properly. It isnt something that just happens with one person, it happens with alot of people i call. As part of my job, i have to call clients alot and so this is a big problem. Ive tried using a bluetooth headset, same problem. The problem comes and goes, It might me fine for a good part of the day, but then all of sudden i start experiancing it. My service provider suggested i restore the phone, so i did that and also upgraded software. however nothing was solved. any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks
4s brand new but the voice call is bad quality
My IPhone's volume is not working. I have checked and tried everything. When I use my headset I can hear when phone rings or receive text msg when I pull the jack out I have no sound on anything
Cannot use airplay on my iPhone 5. Also it does pair with my Bluetooth headset.
I haven't been using headset for a couple of months, but it is fully charged and paired. I started using it again recently, and as close as the phone on left hip, and headset in right ear, it gets choppy, or drops out. It even disconnects when I lay on my couch. The phone is on my chest, headset in right ear. I turn my head to the right so only my head is between the two devices. Last I checked, I didnt have a metal plate in my head! I have iOS 5.01. ProPlantronics headset (for phone calls). And Philips SHB6100 (for music). I have noticed cutout on the Philips headset while at the gym as well. Just an observation: I didn't have this problem prior to iOs5.0.1
I just updated my iPhone 5 to iOS 6. I am now having issues with this update. Voice control comes on at random times. When I use my headset the volume buttons are not working. Siri comes on when I have not pressed the home button or raised my phone to ear. It is also running slower than before I updated. Is there any fixes for these issues? If I reset will it reset to the previous iOS?
I recently upgraded from an iPhone 4s to an iPhone 5. I have a Motorola HX550 Bluetooth headset which worked flawlessly with the iPhone 4s. However, since upgrading to the iPhone 5, I frequently lose audio when in the middle of a call. I am not certain whether it is a full disconnect or just an audio loss. The person on the other end reports still being able to hear me, however, I suppose they could hear me speaking over another source even if bluetooth disconnected. The loss of audio is always preceded by a quick shrill noise, so I can easily tell when it happens. All I have to do to fix the problem is to select Audio Source on the call screen, temporarily switch audio back to the iPhone, and then switch back to the headset, and then it starts working again. Is is important to note that I am not the only one experiencing this issue: This is a link to someone using the Motorola H19txt headset experiencing the same issuehttps://forums.motorola.com/posts/94ac15ad7c If you go to the Plantronics website and look at the "Ratings and Reviews" on the Voyager Legend you will see the same issue reported: http://www.plantronics.com/us/product/voyager-legend (next paragraph is taken from the review since there is no direct link to the review. Really nice headset unless you own an Iphone 5. I own several Plantronics headsets and have always loved the quality/ performance. This headset seems not to be compatible with the new Iphone 5. In the middle of a conversation it will lose all incoming audio. This leaves you trying to switch audio sources really fast in order not to lose your phone call. Ive tried 3 legend headsets and they all do the same thing. Hopefully this gets fixed soon because the headset is really nice Since this issue appears to affect multiple headsets from multiple vendors, I think it is fair to conclude that it is an issue with the iPhone5 bluetooth itself. I am posting this as a new discussion as I don't see any other posts specific to this iPhone 5 Bluetooth issue. I would have reported this as a problem to Apple, but don't seem to be able to find a way to do this on the web. Hopefully they are already aware, but if not, maybe they will see i here. If anyone else has experienced this issue, or has recommendations on how to prevent this from happening, I would appreciate your feedback / additions to this post.
I take a great number of conf calls and use either a wired headset or bluetooth headset. On my iphone 4s and ios5 the screen would not lock while talking - so I could easily mute and unmute the phone. Now on ios6 and iphone5 the phone locks and it takes a few seconds to get to be able to un-mute or do anything on the phone. Is there a method to stop this behavior? I want the old normal back.
