screen blacked out iPhone 5

So i was playing with my phone, put it down for a second and when i came back to it the screen was covered with black and white lines.. Ive tried to restart the phone, reset it and all but nothing seems to work. Does anyone have advice? I am overseas so going into an apple store isnt an option.

My iPhone 4S volume isn't working. No sound when playing music. No ring or text message sound. If I try to turn volume up for ringer on side, the box appears, but no bar to show volume up or down. If I do a test ring in settings it works though. Silent switch is in the correct position. I tried a hard reboot (ignored the red slider). It worked a minute ago but then stopped again. It seems like it might have the problem when I'm trying to play music. Thanks! 

my iPhone 5 has NO SOUND

My iphone was fine up until a few hours ago. Now the sound has stopped completely. It does not ring, alert me for texts, play music, or anything. I made sure that my phone is not on silent or vibrate, have restarted my phone several times, and have even reset the settings on my phone. Any tips will be greatly appreciated.

Ok so my friend got ahold of my iphone and downloaded the software from ios 7 onto it. When I went to take it off I just erased and reset the phone. While doing that it has now completely locked me out of my phone because the software she downloaded wasn't paid for. The screen is now telling me "the device is not registered as part of the iphone developer program." Does anyone have any suggestions? Turning the phone on or off, starting over as an option is not working. I'm not sure what else to do and I'm starting to freak out a little bit.

My phone volume goes down and ringer icon comes up and stays on blocking view. buttons are not stuck. Why this appending and how I fix it. iPhone

Why does my iPhone volume  ringer icon come on by itself, the volume gets turned down on its own then the icon stays on and blocks my view. It also will at any time make any screen switch to large pictures that I can only see a small portion of screen at a time. I have tried too tap screen to make it go back to normal and nothing happens. I then try to turn it off. After several tries I am successful Its hard slide power off button because only a small section is showing. What is happening? How do I fix this?

My sister and myself are getting each others text messages. Help hard Question iPhone

This whole problem started when I first got my Iphone 5 around christmas time of last year. And i did the normal activation of my new Iphone and syncing my old iphone 4 with this new phone. I synced everything and it was all good, but i started to get these random text from people in my message log. I soon found out that i was recieving every text that was sent to my sister. And if i replied to someone who was texting my sister it would show up like she texted them, not me on a seperate number. Also when i text my sister she would get the text but immidiatly after i sent her it, i would also get a text from myself saying what i sent her. I will literally get a text message from my own number to myself, (Weird ****). So its like my sisters text messaging is fused with mine. Its only messages though, no images or anything else. In the beginging i didnt care about this becasue she wasnt recieving my text i was only getting hers. But now just today she tells me she is getting my text too. And thats a problem! This problem lasted all the way up to about 2 months ago and then i stopped getting her messages. But i gave one of my friends my old iphone 4 and once they activated it for there own use it started to happen again. They use a seperate plan then i do and there number on the phone is different. Before i gave them the phone i wiped everything off of it. i took off the contacts, messages, everything. They use a different apple account and icloud account now on the phone. So idk why it started up again i need help. Here is some background. My whole family shares the same apple account with everything. We have seperate phones, numbers and data for the most part. But with dealing with Icloud and itunes anything like that, we use the same account. My sister uses a Iphone 4s btw. With my old Iphone 4 i had no probelms with this, everything was normal. But once i switched to the new iphone 5 this problem has occured. Idk what this is about, i havent heard anyone else with this problem, but i need help! btw my other family members on their phones do not have this problem. So i think it has to do something with the icloud but im not sure! This is a serious problem and i need help! Goodluck!

iPhone 4 16gb Factory reset with Other showing up question

i just factory unlocked the iphone 4 with my provider. i did a full factory reset and set up as a new device. currently it displayed 439 MB "Other" and 13.27 GB Free. i understand that a part of the 16gb is used for the ios operations. so that i should have somewhere between 13.6 - 13.8 GB of actual free space. i am wondering what the 439mb of "Other" is and if its something i can ger rid of.

Iphone 5 searching

My iphone 5 has continually been "searching" for two days.  I had the sim card swapped twice yesterday and nothing has changed. What could be wrong and what is my next step? More info: I have reset network setting, reset my entire phone as well. It will not allow me to even go through the process of setting up the phone so I'm stuck at the beginning screen. I've tried to set it up through wifi and through itunes with no luck. Before I reset it, it wouldn't allow me to update once the searching problem began.

So I got my iPhone 5 around Christmas time, and I feel as though I need to start fresh. I want everything to be as good as new. I am absolutely getting frusturated with iCloud right about now. I already put all my pictures on my computer (not connected to iCloud), and my contacts are in a vCard folder on my desktop. I don't have music on my iPhone, and my apps I'd like to keep. How do I back up my iPhone to ONLY my computer... When I tried deleting my iCloud account, it deleted everything (including the contacts that I backed up to ONLY my computer). Long story short... I hate iCloudI want my phone good as newI want my appsI want my contactsI want my text messages if possible.I don't mind resigning into all my email accounts and app accounts. When I do have my iPhone good as new as when I got it, then I will later on ask a question on how iCloud specifically works... with such a tight schedule like mine, it is hard to go to the genius bar and ask all of these questions... How stop connect to itunes to use push notifications iPhone 3G

Hi, I held down the off and home button on my iPhone 4S 64GB and i thought it just turned off but it reset the apps and i still have photos and apps and everything but when i open any social aps it comes up with "connect to iTunes to use push notifications" and also before this event i was using iMessage all the time aswell as texting and now when i use iMessage it doesnt let me send or recieve messages anymore on my iPhone but it does on my iPad and it lets me recieve Texts. I have no clue how to fix this so please help me. Ps. I dont want to have to restore my iPhone because last time i lost the backup Thank you so much if you help me.~eva_needs_help

My Power button stuckbroken and iphone 4s wont start after reset

I reset my iphone on reset all settings and media and it just goes to the apple logo and then the buffering circle. Is there any other way than holding the home button and power button since my power buttons broken? Please and thanks.

iPhone 5 require factory reset to switch from GSM to CDMA

Before I ordered my iPhone 5 from StraightTalk I explained that I wanted to use it as a CDMA (Verizon) in the US and as a GSM (Vodafone) in Europe.I specifically asked if the phone would become a CDMA phone again when I removed the Vodafone GSM Sim after returning to the US. The answer was Yes. The CDMA function worked well in the US and the GSM function worked equally well in Europe.However, when I did remove the GSM card, the iPhone 5 stopped working. According to StraightTalk, the only way to return to the CDMA function is to have them do a factory reset, which means loosing all data and downloaded apps.Of course, nobody told me that when I asked the question.Does anybody know if this is a requirement for every iPhone 5 or just for StraightTalk phones?

4s being slow and lagging iPhone

I have noticed that my phone has started to become slow and lagging. I make sure i kill all apps that are running when i am not using them. Connected to Wifi when i can and everything else that i can tell is normal. Just need more advice on what to do. I do not want to hard reset the phone. Already had problems with Itunes before and don't want to try to figure everything out again. Thanks

Iphone 4S Wifi slider not working

Hello everyone, I've recently got my WIFI slider greyed out. I was on a lower version than 6.1.3 before I got this issue, now after trying several resets and network resets and other stuff such as using the hair-dryer trick and freezer trick it didn't work. Now as I've seen in a tutorial on Apple it says you must go to Settings --> About --> Resets and then reset the network settings, but after doing that my Wifi-Adress stays with some numbers instead of N/A which other people gets, I still have a WIFI-Adress in it no matter if I reset my whole Iphone or not. Airpot has always been off, when I'm in the menu of setting Iphone up, it most likely skips the Find wifi part where you connects to your WIFI. The Iphone it self has not even a scratch, I've not really dropped it before or anything, I've had it for some time now but not really got it damaged. So people, any ideas? It's running on IOS 6 6.1.3 now.

iPhone Autoplay doesn t start automatically

When I plug my iPhone 4s up to my Windows 7 64bit PC It is detected by the PC and iTunes, but it does not start AutoPlay. I have checked all the basics, making sure autoplay is set to "ask me everytime" the device is plugged up. yet it does not do this. I have reset to defaults on the phone as well as on my PC. AutoPlay still does not come up. This is mainlty an inconvience but still, it SHOULD just work and it doesnt. So any suggestions besides what I've already tried would be awesome. iphone 4s internet not working. my phone have singnal while using. on the left top corner have the display of "4G" and i can text or phone to someone. but i can't use my internet. it is all fine since this morning. when i tried a web page, it goes slower than before. after 1 hour, the internet totaly can't be used.my wifi part couldn't be used either. but it began at december 2012. and i don't usually use the wifi. so i didn't pay attention to it. wifi part is sometime good sometime bad. mostly after i restar it, the wifi can be used for 1 or 2 muniutes. i was not sure whether or not is the problem of att. but other members of my family plan are all fine at internet.which part of phone would be the problem? especially for the hard ware parts. i think there would be some problems in hardware. i always drop my phone unintentionally.

vodafone issues iPhone 4S

Hi all,  i will list my problems and see what you all think,,,,, i have a iphone 4s on vodafone running 6.1.3 firmware, for the first 11/12mths i would say this phone was faultless ( taking around 200 calls a day), recently the phone refuses to make calls and send txt messages, it wont even connect to the internet using 3g, it has to have wirelesss connectivity for the browsers to work. i took it to the local vodafone shop and they insisted it was the sim card at fault, even though i did try it in my other phone (nokia E50-2), so i took the replacement sim anyway. checks already done:- i have taken my vodafone contract sim from the iphone and placed it in the nokia, it works fine sending and recieving both calls and txti have taken my vodafone PAYG sim out of the nokia and placed it in the iphone, it refused to work but worked fine in the nokiai have reset the network settings, i have deleted all apps from the iphone and done a full restore, but it still refuses to workit shows full signal strength all the time where i live, as does the nokia, if i try to call it from the nokia it tells me the phone is not available even though they are sat side by side with full signal, if i try to call the nokia it comes back called failed.i have tried to send a txt message to my own phone number only for it to come back failed, yet in the nokia it sends no problem.vodafone refuse to admit it is a problem with there network and it is an iphone issue, the phone is now 13mths old and out of warranty (typical), i requested the iphone be unlocked from vodafone to check other networks, this has now been done so i put a spare O2 sim in the iphone and it sends and recieves both calls and text with no issues, yet vodafone still say it is not a network problem!!!!!!! is anyone else having similar problems to mine??? or is it something wrong with the phone???? i personnaly think when the phone was updated to the 6.1.3 firmware it has a problem with vodafone, plese tell me what you think, i am going crazy with this phone, cant believe its not kissed the wall or other hard surface yet.

(specify "Start" & "Stop" time - under "Options" – to any 30-seconds duration and click OK)-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------3) Right-click or Ctrl-Click again on same song name and select "Create AAC Version" to create an .m4a file...(when done iTunes will create a Chime)-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------4) to locate the created .m4a file easily, Ctrl-Click again on same song name and select "Show in Finder" from the pop-up list...(iTunes will automatically point the folder location of the original .mp3 & the newly created .m4a files... keep this window open for later...)-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------5) change the .m4a file to .m4r as suggested... (rename to whatever you like but you must change the extension to .m4r)-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------6) At this point, the m4r(original) file isn't a "Ringtone" file yet... which we'll need to change now...) (check under "Get Info", this .m4r(new) File's "Kind" should be "Ringtone")//to get to that "TONES" Folder : First Locate your iTunes default Music Folder in your Mac --> usually it's in your Default "MUSIC" folder --> Navigate to "iTunes Media"  --> Navigate to "Tones". !! Keep this window open to make the transfer manually !!-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------9) Once your duplicate is placed inside the "Tones" folder, double-click on that duplicate .m4r(true) file and let iTunes play, it should automatically place that ringtone file into the "Ringtone" sidebar List in the iTunes program... (check program to see) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------Somehow u needed both duplicates : 1 – inside the default initial .mp3 folder & 1 – inside the Tones Folder which we Duplicate+Drag into... and both must be "Ringtone" – Kind... for this to work.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------10) There you go. Now you can Sync / Delete / Add the whole Ringtone contents to your iPhone as you wish. //Don't forget to set SYNC ON under the iphone  "Tones" tab in your iTunes - iPhone screen... and click big SYNC button at the bottom of iTunes program & wait for the magic.( Finally you can check inside your iPhone "Sounds" settings and hopefully if all steps done correctly, the bloodycomplicatedringtone selection will be there. Hi, I have an iPhone 5 that's about 5 months old now.I bought in India.My phone died last night coz the battery finished..and i have been trying to charge it ever since and it isn't working..I did everything possible(like a hard reset : Holding the home and power buttons down with various time combinations) and nothing worked, it isnt even turning on(Not even the Apple Logo is being displayed).There has been no external damage to the phone in any aspect.I tried charging it using my computer, a wall adapter and a power bank and NOTHING SEEMS TO WORKSomeone Please HELP!

I have been having trouble with my iPhone - sudden decrease in battery life, apps not working, Wifi not working, iCloud not working (don't ask me why, but when I go to Settings>iCloud>Storage and back up, the toggle is off and greyed out, giving me no option to turn it on). I was advised to back the iPhone up on my mac, reset the iPhone to factory settings and then restore it from the Mac.  So, all my apps have come over, but none of my contacts, SMS's, nothing. I can probably live without the SMS's but it will take me a long time to re-enter all my contacts.  However, they are all still in the Mac.  But I can't work out how to get the Mac to send the addresses back to the iPhone.   As previously stated, the iCloud doesn't work, so I can't use that.  I looked through previous entries and the advice was: Open iTunes. Connect the iPhone. Select it under the Devices heading in the iTunes sidebar. Click on the Info tab in the main window. Check the Contacts box then sync. However, when I do this it say in contacts "your contacts are being synched with your iPhone over the air, over-the-air sync settings can be changed on the iPhone" But I don't want them synched over the air, because over the air (I assume this is iCloud) isn't working.  How do I set it (either iTunes or the iPhone) so that it synches, via USB cable, with the contacts on my Mac? I am totally, utterly confused and a bit cross as I am now worse off then before I reset the phone and was told that it would just back up from the computer.  And even more annoyed when I know the data I want is all still there (on the Mac in address book), I just can't drag it across.

Where are my iPhone messages in iTunes and iCloud iPhone 4S

Hey, there: I have my phone set to back-up to icloud.  I assume when it says "screen locked," that means the little toggle on the upper left. In any case, when I am in iTunes, I find my "libraries" file or whatever has all my voice messages.  But where are the text messages?  I want to both back them up and make hard copies, as I use them for things that need a record. I am of course being clueless.  Thanks. Kenneth

iphone 5 doesnt accept ID password facetime and imessage not working

Im not sure if its to do with the new update 6.1.4 but my imessage suddenly stopped working. I checked my settings and saw that my email addresses associated with it were deleted. I would do hard resets but it wouldnt solve the problem. Then imessage was only partially working, sending imessages to certain individuals and text messages to the others. When i would try to add my email it would say that my password or ID is incorrect. I was thinking, no this could not be. I signed in and out of Itunes with no problem. I even signed on appleid.com and it worked. I tried it on my ipad which worked. I was scratching my brains. so I had an idea, I proceeded to reset network settings......BIG MISTAKE!!! Now, along with my imessage and facetime problems, I cannot connect to my wifi at home. when I enter the password it says it is incorrect. I have also tried entering the wifi manually but to no avail. I connected my iphone to itunes but it wont back up my data saying an error occured but it doesnt specify the error. Iv also noticed that if i press and hold an app, and it starts shaking, the crosses next to the apps that I hav purchased whether it is free or not does not show the 'x' next to them so I cant manually delete an app. What is going on? Is so frustrating because now I have to rely on my data and its depleting fast. Iv booked an appointment with the Genius bar for next week but I am hoping I can sort this out before hand. My first iphone and I was enjoying it up to now, not happy at all!

Home button lagging up to hours iPhone 5

Last night my Home button just stopped working. So i started using the AssistiveTouch, then when i was sending a text, then my phone started to use the home button by itself. Like all my clicks had been queued up. I'm talking hours afterwards. Then for a bit, the button worked like it should. But after i put it to sleepmode, the same thing happened.And just now, i playing Candy crush(lol!) it just started again. I couldn't play because it kept going using the home button by itself. Starting voice control etc etc.. I have tried resetting rebooting the phone, I have tried to reset the phone and I have tried to recalibrate the home button. I mean, I could live with a  few seconds delays, but 10 hours? Nope  Any advice is appreciated, otherwise i'll guess I have to go to the closest store.

iphone disabled iPhone 5

Iphone 5 ios 6.1.4 password was entered incorrectly too many times. Now the iphone is disabled, state it needs connected to iTunes. Itunes state the iphone password must be entered on the iphone before it can connect to Itues. I can't do a firmware restore since the power button apparently is also disabled on 6.1.4 once the iphone is disabled. Looks like a loop and I can't get into the iphone.

Wifi Greyed on 4S no Panorama option on camera

I purchased a 4s for the Mrs in February 13 and ever since she has had it the wifi option is greyed and no option of the Panorama in camera options although the 'grid' and 'hdr' options are there. I have restored the phone from new, reset all settings, hard reset etc but nothing helps.  Does anyone have a definitive resolution to this frustrating problem or is it a matter for Apple to replace the handset? can i wipe my phone without connecting to computer iPhone

My phone will not connect to itunes long enough to get it to reset.  Is there any special key combination that I can use to brick the phone so that I can start from scratch, but without connecting to itunes?   The phone will not restart and stay on.  It just continues to go on and off on and off.  I get the apple logo, then to the home screen, but the slide to open bar does not glow, and then it just shuts off and starts over.  It never is on long enough to register with the computer.   I have tried both reset techniques.  neither works.  (holding down home key and on/off key until i see the apple logo, or holding down just the on/off key(never see the power bar).   I have an appointment, but would rather not go into the store.  If there is another way to brick the phone, I could then restore from backup.   Thanks!

Erasing data from iphone 4 and installing new data from iphone 3gs

A friend has given me her iphone 4.  It still has all her data on it.  I want to install my data and erase hers.  How can I do this and make sure my data is safe.  I connected her phone to my computer thinking that I could reset it back to factory settings but it seemed that my computer wanted to save the data off the phone first.  I don't want to do this.  What's the easiest way of wiping her phone clean and then installing the data from mine? There are a couple of game apps on her computer that I'm happy to keep.  Is it easy to save these?  I'm prepared to erase them with the rest of the data from her phone if it's a problem.

Apple ID problem iPhone 3G

When setting up my apple ID i put in the wrong email address initially, I typed it wrong. I resolved this by correcting it with the right email address then popping in the correct password. Everything seemed fine initially. But now I keep getting Apple ID popping up with the wrong email address asking for the password (which doesnt exsist). It doesn't affect anything as when it matters, eg app store iCloud etc, it always asks for the password for the correct email address. But this window will pop up constantly, whether I'm in settings, App Store, iMessage.  I've tried looking for a way to stop it from popping up but can't seem to see anything. I really don't want to have to reset my phone so hoping someone out there has some useful advice for me...

I was using my iphone 4 with no problems, when my 3G stop working cause PDP network setting. I go on "reset Network Settings", the iphone shut down to reboot, but never reboot! It stop working, i even try to repair it from iTunes, but it cannot, says he's broken and he cannot power on for assistance and to go to an apple store.Some tips?

Iphone 4 wifi problems

hey my iphone 4 has recently had wifi problems. i cant fidn any networks at all. the router is fine because every other device i own runs on wifi and its working. but the wierd part is that if my phone is 1 inch away from the router it will find it and connect! but tghen if i move my phone 2 feet away from the router cannot find any networks again.  i have reset the phone all the wifi settings the lot! i have also restored the phone still not working! i have also manually tried connecting too.  someone please help!

My lock button broken. iPhone 4

My iPhone 4 lock/sleep button has been fine for the past year and was working fine earlier this morning but this afternoon I was having trouble pressing it. The lock button is very hard to press on if I want to lock or turn my phone off now. I have no idea how this happened to my phone or if it can be fixed at an Apple store because I don't think that I have a warranty on my phone. At the moment I am using assistive touch to lock the phone but it is extremely unconvienent for me since I am constantly texting and on social networking sites which result in me constantly locking my phone.
