If email has PDF attachment I cant read text portion of email iPhone 4

I noticed that if the message had a PDF attachment, then that icon is all I see. The text portion seems to have been ignored, although I can see it in the preview of the message. Very strange.RgdsKen 2.8 Dual Quad Core Mac OS X (10.5.5)

After update to OS 4.0.1 GPS not working-only trinangulation iPhone 3G

I did update of my 3G to OS4.0.1 or 0.2, after that my GPS functione gone. This is second device what Ive got from my dealer. First was with the same problem and they changed to new one. New 3G with factory settings and 3.1. worked perfectly. GPS was very precise, but now after getting 4.0 works only trinangulation. I dont want to go again to the service center. Maybe somebody has the same problem. By the way Im very angree to Apple for this. Because its not normal situation. I always trusted to Apple quality but now it seems to me its gone. iPhone3G iOS 4

I just wanted to post this topic as Im curious if the Apple monster will even read this or address them. I hope I get surprised. Apple makes, hands down, the most high quality of devices, but they tend to have it there way more than ours. I guess thats what makes them Apple. Without further ado, here is my list of bugs Ive noticed and I hope youll add to it. I would just love to see Apple address these:1. Performance issues with Podcasts and multiple-tasking. Youll hear stuttering on occasion, sometimes often while playing a podcast or even music. Ive noticed this at random and also at times when the phone locks or when switching out of the iPod.2. I just noticed this one: if you take the time to write on this exact site, you will find yourself getting lost, as sometimes the text goes on, and the screen doesnt follow it. Suprising that even on the iPhones home site, it cant perform the way it ought to. Youll also notice that below here, its asking me what hardware Im using and what OS. It should be clear what hardware Im on and even what OS Im running. Brilliant, considering this is Apple.com, I selected the iPhone 4 section, and the browser can report the os version. Oh wow, I just lost my text again and had to press the expanding icon on the bottom right of this pane. Also, sometimes i lose my text permanently where I should be able to scroll down to find it but there arent scroll bars... The attention to detail of the aesthetics of the phone cant be matched on the outside, but again, leave a lot to be desired on the inside.3. Echo for the remote callers own voice when my phone is plugged into a stereo through the headphone jack. Even when my volume is so low, I cant hear it.4. While heavily texting, if I exit out to the home screen after/during the send of the text, my phone will freeze for a good 60-120 seconds. If I press too many buttons, trying to get it to respond, it will reboot itself instead of coming back to life. Again this only happens (very seldom) when Im sending texts to multiple random people and I abruptly go home while a message is being sent (or maybe received?).5. While playing music, the quality will often drop drastically when entering a game or application that has sounds. This has only happened in two places so far. While talking on the phone, if I go to play music on the iPod to hear in my headphones, and when entering Bejeweled 2 Blitz with the in-game music off and the sounds on, while iPod music is being played. I do not believe this is Bejeweled at fault. Try it, make a call and try and play some background music in your headphones. The quality drops to a very unacceptable level.Thats actually all I can think of for now! Please fix these issues Apple and I will gain a good bit of respect, knowing you heard and acknowledged this. iphone 3g got stuck in apple logo after resetting

I tried to reset my iphone3g with the option which will delete all the datas and medias from the settings of iphone.It said it would take one hour or so to complete but its more than three hours and my iphone wont start.it gets stucked in the apple logo after restarting and the circle of working appears continuously.What should i do? New iOS 4.1 iPhone 4

The new iOS 4.1 gives the ability to upload HD videos - a welcome improvment! Proximity sensor, bluetooth and 3gs issues are said to be fixed. A new game centre dedicated to muliplayer games will also be added. High Dynamic Range photos will also be included (the camera automatically brackets an exposure on either side of your picture then takes the best of the three for the final result). iPhone 3G motherboard missing component after main antenna contact

Anyone knows what this component is on the iPhone 3G motherboard?I have an iPhone 3G motherboard I bought locally for $25. It had a broken #3 connector which I fixed successfully. By comparing to a working motherboard, I noticed that it is also missing a component connecting the contact to the main antenna on the bottom speaker module. Does anyone know what it is? It looks like a resistor, fuse, or capacitor. Turn wiped of data iPhone3 without S into iTouch for son

I have a new iPhone 4G & have transferred all data from the old iPhone 3G. Wiped the iPhone 3G and want to rebuild it for my son from my own iTunes account. So he can use all the games I downloaded. He only is 9 so I dont want to give him a phone SIM yet. Now the 3G is wiped clean the message on the iPhone is Insert a valid SIM with no PIN lock to activate iPhone. iTunes says the SIM is locked.I dont want to put in SIM. My old SIM is no longer working. Ported mobile number from carrier.How do I tell iTunes to forget about asking for a SIM? MacBook Mac OS X (10.6.4)

I have my first iPhone and cant figure out how to send an automatic text. When I am on a phone call and another call comes in, I am used to hitting a ignore and send text button or something similar that will send a message to the person calling me. This is a preset text that says something like I am on the phone, please leave me a message or similar that at least tells the caller that I am busy. So, the questions are:1. Wont SYNC iPhone 3G

Im trying to sync my iPhone through iTunes but its not working. First it says something about a duplicate file. Then it says an internal device error has occured. It also sometimes says the required file cannot be found (Im trying to sync a new ringtone onto it and I have NOT moved any previously synced files).I have the latest iPhone update and the latest version of iTunes. iPhone 4-painfully slow wi-fi performance

Ive been experiencing painfully slow wifi performance (about 1/4 the speed of 3G performance) while connected to Wi-Fi.I tried following the advice given in an Apple Support article which suggested resetting network settings. I then had to re-enter the password for my wi-fi and it seemed better for a few minutes while after doing that. But then its back to snails pace again.Has anyone else see this? My Wi-Fi router is a Linksys WAG325N with firmware v1.00.12. Its working fine with several macs, an iPad, an iPod Touch and an iPhone 3GS. Its only the iPhone 4 which has this problem. I can load a given web page on both my iPhone 4 and 3GS and the 3GS normally finishes before the iPhone 4 has even loaded the page title. Intermittently stops receivingsending texts and calls iPhone 4

First of all, love the new phone. I have had a strange recurring problem, though. Every 3-4 days, my phone stops sending and receiving calls and txts, even though it has a full signal. I end up restarting the phone and it again begins working fine. Any ideas?

iPhone wont turn on

I think I am fuked. My iPhone was constantly freezing today. I did a reset (holding down home and power button) I did that twice. I wanted to sync my phone into iTunes so that I could have all of my photos on my computer before my phone stopped working. Well no point. Wont sync. I try turning it on and syncing and all it does is show the apple logo then it shuts down. I am about to cry right now because all my photos from my trip and my text messages are gone. Emails deleted in Entourage still appear on iphone

I am using 3G iphone (4.0.2) and sync with Entourage 2008 on intel Mac through Exchange server. Had been working fine. Recently - messages deleted in Entourage dont delete on the iphone - very aggravating. I can send email from iphone fine, I can delete messages on iphone and they delete in entourage. Stuck in customer services returns iPhone 4

After waiting for the 3 week delivery for my iphone from the apple online store (singapore) it arrived with a damaged pixel.Customer services told me to send it back in via DHL and they would send out a replacement within 2 to 3 working days.One week later and still no replacement.To make matters worse, every time i call support it takes them about 20 minutes to actually find my case and figure out what is going on before they can even try to assist me.The latest i have heard is that i now have to wait another three weeks for a new one to be delivered for me!!!If i had known this i would have held onto the damaged unit until they sent me a replacement.Is this normal returns policy?Now i am over in Singapore for work reasons. My previous apple experience is with the UK store where you can usually just walk in and walk out with a replacement handset.I cannot believe how difference the customer experience is over here. Ok i got the iphone4 and sold my ipt and hhone 3g to a friend, his sim card is in he can recieve calls and text but for some reason no ring or text sound and volumn is all the way up and it plays the sound when u choose it but not if recieve call or text, i restored back to factory settings and updated the phone to the newest updates, he can make calls and send texts but for some reason no sound. help would be appreciated. dell Windows 7

Hi allUpdated to 4.0.2 recently, although not sure if this is the problem or just coincidence.On settings, all my sounds are on (i.e. lock sounds, ringtone to loudest, keyboard clicks) and they have been working until today.Now the keyboard clicks dont work, nor do any other sounds other than the iPod. When I go into settings and confirm my ringtone, it does ring, but not when I get a call.This all worked previously but as I say, not sure whether just a conincidence with the update. Problems syncing iPhone 4

Seems simple - to sync your phone, but I have had issues since purchase. After 3 hrs tech time and then time face to face in store, they gave me a new phone. It syncd right away, everything fine. Now having problem with the second phone.I did not sync the phone for a couple weeks, and went to sync it because my apps were not working (push the app on phone and nothing happens). When I tried to sync, I get errors again, some of which include:Internal device errorTiming outUnknown errorI have attempted to restore from back-up, and it errors out and wont let me do this. I have done the complete restore as well. Then when I attempt to sync, the errors are gone, but the sync does not occur. Itunes states it is syncing, and phone shows nothing. It never syncs.Also, anytime I connect the phone to computer itunes pops up with the set up your iphone page, which tells me it is never really recognizing the phone. Also note: I was told to take the time management off the USB hubs, as this might be creating a problem. This has not solved the problem.I am going back to the store today, but figured I would see what advice I could find here. HP dv6t 64 bit

Iphone 4 calling issues. screen wont blank out when on call

I am hoping someone can help me. I have just upgraded from iphone 3G to an Iphone 4. When I am on a phone call my face will touch the screen and activate other calls or actions on my phone such as facebook and text messaging. My old 3G phone screen used to black out when on a call so this problem didnt happen. Okey, here is the deal.I just got a Iphone 3G and was totally extatic about it and couldnt take my hands off it from about a day (lol). And then i plugged it into itunes today and it told me to upgrade to 4.0.2, so i did... now it takes about 5 seconds to open a text and another 3-4 to get the keyboard up... iv had it less then a day and its already sh*t... iv scanned the forum and im not the only unhappy person, is there any solid way to fix this and downgrade back to 3.1.3? I want my blinking phone to work after iv payed such alot for it =/. Hi, Im new to the forums as of today. I had a 3G for a while, upgraded because of the OS4 issues (to a Samsung Galaxy) then went back and ordered an iPhone 4 instead because, well... I love the interface, apps, and my iTunes music that I was unable to port over. Not a fan of the mp3/computer interfacing of android phones, I think the sync stuff with iTunes is far more user friendly. But...onto my real issue/questionLong story short, I did like one feature from the Galaxy and that was to auto-reject a call with a filler text message such as Im driving or will call back, and I cant figure out how or if we can do this on an iPhone.Ive done some research on this and some google suggestions such as http://www.programmerfish.com/send-auto-sms-on-iphone-4/ say this feature is automatic on this phone since its an iPhone 4 but every time I double click the power button it just sends the call to voicemail with no such interface to send a reject message etc. Does anybody know what the deal is? Weird glitch. Everytime I open Photos app it instantly creates new email iPhone 4

Empty address bar and what isnt even the newest picture in the roll. I even deleted all instances of the picture it is using and it still does it. As soon as I open up Photos, I just tries to email that same picture everytime. Its annoying having to click cancel, then delete draft every-time. I checked my drafts folder too, empty. Iphone 3g shows apple logo after restore

I replaced my screen because it was cracked. Phone still functioned fully. I updated to 4.02 or latest update with success so that I could restore to that point later. My problem is that I have success in getting the connect to itunes recovery screen and the computer has offered to restore and then begins its process. According to the Phone updater log, the restore succeeded. However as Itunes restores (or during the process), the phone returns to the apple logo screen and itunes no longer sees it. The phone will then endlessly loop to try and reboot every 5 mins or so with the apple logo until the battery goes dead. Two attempts thus far.I have a valid contract with AT&T and the phone is not jailbroken. Although yes, I replaced the screen myself. (A cost of $20 shipped to my house over $200+ with apple) The phone is a little more than 2 years old.The frustration is it seems that everything should be working but cant get past apple log screen. I believe since i took the phone to an itunes store to inquire about glass replacement, the tech would had noted the cracked screen, leading anyone to believe the possibility of the phone screen being replaced otherwise, in otherwords, I dont expect Apple to help at all despite the fact of having 2 phones now, but they could surprise me. Multitasking Music and text iPhone

I am considering getting a iphone 4, and selling my ipod touch. Although I like to listen to music a lot and I would also like to text and talk on the phone. Does this phone allow me to listen to music and also talk on the phone at the same time, or listen to music and text at the same time? This would probably be done via bluetooth. I want to bluetooth stream music to a set of speakers (in my car or at home) and still be able to talk and text freely without disturbing my music in the car. Is this possible? Gateway Windows Vista

Upgrading iPhone 3g to iPhone 4

My question has probably been asked before but after searching the forum for a few days, I am unable to get a clear picture so I hope someone can help me.I just bought an iPhone 4 and would like to know what is the correct way to migrate my iPhone 3g backup onto it.I completely understand the part where i need to do a backup of the old one and then restore from this backup onto the new phone.My concern though is I have not upgraded my iPhone 3g OS to iOS4, it is still running on 3.1.2. And after reading the stories of how other iPhone 3g users have experienced having really slow phones after the upgrade, I am hesitant to do so.So finally here are my questions: 1. Can I restore my iPhone 3g OS 3.1.2 backup directly onto my iPhone 4? 2. Or is it essential to upgrade my iPhone 3g to iOS4.01 first to have a compatible backup to restore from? I have read somewhere that a user had to wait 72 hours when they tried it(?).3. And does anyone know when iOS4.1 or iOS4.02 with hopefully the fix for the 3g laggy issue is coming out?Please help! Canceling call from Tom Tom doesnt always cancel call on iPhone 3G

Bad Experience with Apple iPhone 4

Hi all,I bought an iphone 4 from three mobile from their online site. Last Thursday I received the iphone, but it is faulty. No sound at all, no dial tone , no ring tone, etc.Then I went to 3 and they told me it is faulty , need 2 weeks to get new one for me, while I still need to pay for the plan even though I cannot make a call. The other solution is go to apple store, so they can give me a new phone faster. So I go to apple store, one of the guy check my phone and say it is faulty but I need to make appointment in order to get new phone. I make sure with him that I can get a new phone on next appointment, he say yes. So appointment on Monday (3 days later). Which I thought not too bad.Some important thing happen on Monday, I cannot go to apple. So I gave them a call to change my appointment. But they told me they cannot change my appointment online, ask me to make new appointment online. And the guy over the phone seem so busy that he does not bother to help me make reservation online while i in front of my computer.So I go to their site, next thing I found out is there are so many appointment type, so not sure which to book. I just book one of them at Wednesday. Then on Wednesday I go to apple again, this time they tell me I make wrong appointment so I cannot meet the person who need to check my phone(only need 5 mins). Ok seem that partly my fault this time, I accept it. So he make another appointment for me on Friday.Friday, go to apple store again. Finally they manage to check the phone and said it is faulty. Can replace new one for me. Guess what happen? No stock. Wow, and tell me I need to wait another week. What is the different with 3? You guys still need 2 weeks and wasting all my precious time for it. So I need to keep paying my bill for 2 weeks while I cannot make a phone call? 3 times went to apple and still cannot get a new phone? It is my fault that I bought a $1k dollar phone and it is not working? Am I so free that I can keep going to your store?I am so **** off. IPhone 4 iOS 4

Travelling abroad with iPhone

Hello. Going to Japan in the fall for 3 weeks and am looking into to travel packs through Rogers (Canada). They seem expensive! May or may not not bother - not sure yet. Just wondering, if you turn off data roaming and disable 3g, you should be able to use WiFi still...I tried it out in my house and it worked. I notice however, when i disable 3G and data roaming the Rogers logo STILL shows. im thinking because it must be working on Edge. Sooooo, if you turned off roaming and disabled 3G, used wifi, would you STILL get roaming charges as it appears you cant turn off edge networks. iMac Mac OS X (10.6.4) iPhone 3G

Hi, my iPhone was working perfectly up until 3 weeks after ios 4 came out. My phone started acting up. The touch screen started controlling itself and the touch screen stopped working. I downgraded back to ios 3.0 thinking it was a software problem, but its still happening. HELP!!!!!!!!!! iPhone 3G 16 GB iOS 4

Error Safari Could not install profle due to an unknown error iPhone 3G

Hello everyone, Wondering if anyone else is having issue installing iPhone config profiles. I have an iPhone 3G with iOS4. Also downloaded and installed the latest (2.2) iPhone config utility and created a new settings profile, and uploaded it to my server.when i hit the link and attempt to download/install the profile, Safari errors out with Safari Could not install a profle due to an unknown error.(tested with two different 3G phones running iOS 4.0. same issue) That same newly created profile, was installed/tested on a 3.1.3 3G phone and it works fine. Any help would be greatly apperciated, as this is our corporate profile, and we need to get it working before we can allow any upgrades. MBA rev1 Mac OS X (10.6.1)

4.0.2-wheres my camera gone iPhone 4

Loaded up 4.0.2 like a good boy. I was having mms issues where the phone wouldnt remember the settings. Still have the same problem now but my camera has stopped working. It initialise, but the shutter doesnt open so I can only guess at hardware/ firmware issue??I can access camera pictures from it within the app, and if I choose take picture from within contacts, it just gives me the closed shutter as well. Before you ask, a month old and always in a case, never dropped or left in direct sunlight in a car mount for long. Worked fine just before update as well??
