My iphone 5 stopped recognizing my USB cable

In the past few nights, my phone would charge if I had the cord in exactly the right place, but as soon as I touched it in the slightest, it would stopped charging. It did one of those charge, no charge things where it recognizes it for a second, vibrates to tell you it's charging and then stop and then start over again (lots of vibrates). Every once in a while I would get a "Charging is not supported by this accessory" notifications even though I'm using my factory-produced cord and adaptor. Then last night it stopped recognizing USB cords altogether. I tried two different cords, two different adaptors, three different outlets, and plugging it into my laptop. Nothing. Does anyone have any suggestions or have encountered similar problems? I would really like to be able to charge my phone before it dies. Thanks. Jason

I have an iphone 4 and recently purchased very good golf coaching app. However being vision impaired I have trouble viewing videos in app. I got an HDMI plug n play adaptor and cable but all I get on my TV when I plug them in voice

When I plug my phone into the adaptor and connect to the TV via the HDMI cable I can hear the voice from the videos but I get no picture. Perhaps there is a special HDMI adaptor for the iphone 4. My daughter has a 4s and the adaptor works perfectly with her phone. Any suggestions?

My charger has stopped working. Wall adaptor buzzing and won't charge on laptop either iphone 5

My charger hasn't suddenly stopped working. I've tried charging via my laptop as well and no luck. The ac adaptor is also making a strange buzzing noise when I remove it from the socket. Has anyone else experienced similar problems? Or know of any quick fix?

For the second time in 2 months my chargerfor my iphone5  has stopped working. Can only charge through my computer. Don't won't t go to the apple storeas the environment is not nice. Do not like the atmosphere in the apple store at all. Shouldn't have to go through this twice. Where is your cusotmer service head at? Can I get a new one posted to me?????? 

Downloading podcasts to Podcast directory iphone 3G

Okay, here's my situation.  I was recently given a iphone 3GS that I was thinking of using an iPod touch (i.e. no cellular data -- just wifi).  My car, an audi A6, has iphone/iPod integration as well as a built-in WiFi hotspot (using a Tmobile SIM built in to the car).  I have a long commute so I listen to a lot of podcasts.  I thought it would be cool if I could subscribe to x number of podcasts and have them automatically download/udate without having to touch the 3GS -- just do all the controlling via the car's interface.  The problem it doesn't seem like podcasts are downloaded to the "Podcast" directory in the phone anymore (thank you iOS 6 and Apple's Podcast app).  Since my car's interface will only stay in the "Music" directory, is there anyway to automatically get podcasts into that directory so I control them using the car's interface?  3rd party app perhaps?  Any suggestions? Thanks!

iMessage Misery Help iphone

Ok, so I have a contract with T-mobile for an iphone. The iphone got damaged and died so I am having to claim through the insurance.  In the meantime, I have a very basic phone with the same SIM in, just with a SIM adaptor.  The problem is that people wth Iphones who have Imessage turned on are unable to send me messages unless they turn Imessage off.  I contacted T-Mobile and after a very...very.....very lengthy process...I managed to switch on Imessage on my Ipad (it was on before, but messages werent coming through)  Some messages come through on the Ipad, but not all. So basically my problem is that i cant access my iphone to switch imessage off. Is there ANY other way I can do this?? Thanks in advance!

lightning adaptor not working w iphone 5

Hello, I have a few lightning adaptors to connect my phone 5 to iHomes. Slowely the connection has been harder and harder to make for charging. I have to tilt the phone forward for it to begin charging. I have several adaptors and it happens with both. It does not happen with my wife's iphone 5, so it sounds like a hardware issue with my iphone 5. Anyone else experience this? Ideas?

iphone faulting my brand new audi iphone 4S

Hi Guys,  Back in September 2012 i picked up my brand new audi S3 Sportback.  Since day one of me driving the car the car was flashing up 'Brake Fault' and 'Stabilisation Fault'. Through further investigations by audi and myself we came to the agree that the car was faulting due to my iphone 4S being connnected via the AMI port in the glove box. ONLY when the iphone was plugged in via the AMI port was the car faulting.  When the iphone is turned to 'Aiplane Mode' and connected to the car via the AMI port the car is fine and DOES NOT fault.  audi have been trying to find a 'fix' for the issue since the 1st September 2012, 5 months later they still havent got any answers!  My iphone is now running IOS 6.1 and still faults the car. It was also faulting my car with the previous software before i updated to 6.1. I was wondering if anoyone had experienced similar problems or wether Apple would know of a logical explanation to this and what needs to be done to resolve the issue.  The faults are definitely related to the iphone!When driving the car without connecting the iphone through the AMI port not once have i experienced problems with the car.  If anyone could help it would be much appreciated  many thanks Ash

Using iMac mid 2007 (2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo) Mountain Lion fully updated iTunes and Mountain Lion  iphone 5 (brand new) stuck in recovery mode after trying to install update 6.1 via iTunes "The iphone could not be restored Error 3014" Also received message saying along the lines that the (Apple)  'update server was unavailable and to try again later.' Currently my phone is completly offline -- I just have that image on it of the usb cable pointing towards an itunes icon. Unable to make any calls on it whatsoever. Bad. Have tried resetting the phone and restarting the computer and iTunes and repaired permissions on imac. Anyone else getting this?

Mini Cooper not working with Lightning 30 pin adaptor for iphone 5

I have a 2012 Mini Cooper with a "standard" stereo.  I used to plug my iphone 4 into the cord provided by Mini and it played my music & podcasts.  Now, with the Lightning to 30 pin Adapter to connect my iPhone5, my music is now only coming out of 1 speaker and the phone information will not appear.  I do not have Mini Connect.  Anyone else having this issue? Any suggestions? Thanks.

iphone 5 dead and will not charge only black screen

my iphone 5 died last night while plugged into the charger and now will not turn back on, at first it showed the red battery with the charge symbol so i left it and went back 2 hours later and it was still the same way, unplugged it and plugged back in and same thing again, so than tried to do a reset with home button and lock button and nothing happened just stayed black as if power off, have tried this many times with it plugged in and unplugged, than i thought it was my charger adaptor or the cord so i tried different ones, than i thought maybe try to original usb and that did not work either, next tried to hook it to my computer and that also did nothing, itunes doesnt even recognize it is plugged in, have tried to do a reset once again, have been trying to do this for hours now any help would be great or any idea how how to manually make iphone sync with the new itunes on a mac OS X 10.8.2 to reset the phone to facotory settings or try to restore to last back up.

new iphone 5 charger in keeping with 2014 regulations

The new iphone 5 charger needs an adaptor which costs extra on top. Is this just a money making excercise on Apple's part? (as if they need to make anymore!) Or, will this bring the chargers in line with the new regulations due out in 2014 when all chargers for all phones need to be the same? I travel all over the world and currently with friend's, family and colleagues who also own Iphones in varying models I can charge up my phone wherever in the world I am. Having already purchased several extra normal chargers for my travel, if I do forget one I can always charge up. This is not about me being tight, just wondering what promted this sudden change, when for the last 4 generations of Iphones have been the same. I also wonder if Apple have taken the environment in consideration here, which is quite an important point. If, when the reguations do come in in 2014 will the chargers change again? What about all of the millions of discarded chargers that will end up in landfill? The regulations will come into effect in just over a year's time, so I'd like to know if the Apple chargers will have to change for the 2nd time in as many years - it's a very irresponsible way of caring for our environment being one of the biggest company's in the world. But I guess a few people complaining about this over pricing/over charging of their loyal customers will more than likely go by ignored as for every customer they lose (refusing to part with their cash on an iphone 5) there will be 10 others queuing up to buy.

I installed a "free app" today, actually the first app I've ever installed since becoming an iphone customer. It required me to update to iOS6 to complete the free download, and I've been plowing through all the new settings for the past two hours. I found a setting for the free app, and inside it I find an "Acknowledgements" section. Within this I see "Google Data APIs Copyright(c) 2007-2012 Google Inc Licensed under the Apache Licence, Version 2.0". Why would a simple game download a Google API? What does this API do?

audi S4 Bluetooth Phone Issues iphone

All, Running into issues with pairing my new VZW iphone 5 with my 2010 audi S4.  While the streaming music works correctly, the bluetooth phone portion works intermittently.  Specifically, it works when you disable bluetooth, remove the phone and then re-pair, but will not work outside that.  The contacts sync and all the other information syncs, but the phone portion sounds very crackly and staic.  Swapped the phone with Apple and still an issue... Anyone else having the same issue?-Rob

My iphone 5 Battery Experience sad face

I have an iphone 4 and iphone 5, both running iOS6. One night last week, I went to bed around midnight (with my iphone 5 charged at 100%), and woke up 8 hours later to find it had lost all charge.  No apps were running. There is also no LTE coverage where I live.  After recharging it, I kept it on my desk, no apps running, wi-fi on, and didn't text or use the phone.  I kept an eye on the battery percentage and noticed it was losing roughly 20% of it's charge an hour.    While at work, we cannpot have wi-fi turn on, so I've always set my iphone to Airplane Mode.  Today I brought both my iphone 4 and iphone 5 to work.  The iphone 4 was at 100% at 7am.  The iphone 5 was at 85% - it lost 15% during my morning commute.  I kept the iphone 5 on, with no apps running, in airplane mode.  I listend to the iPod on the iphone 4 all day. Even though it's airplane mode, I have about 10 apps running on the iphone 4.   Currently (2pm) the iphone 4 is at 87% battery, while the iphone 5 has already lost all its charge.   In my case, the battery drain does not seem to be an iOS6 issue.   I've had some verion of the iphone since 2007, and used every software version as well.  I've never had an issue with battery life.  Aside from the iphone 5 battery life, my only other issue is, everytime it loses its charge, once it powers back on, it cannot find the SIM card, and I have to restart it again to get a signal.  I'm happy with everything else, but the battery issue is very close to being a deal breaker.  I still have my iphone 4, so putting service back on that may be my best option, but I'd really like to use the 5 with a properly functioning battery.

iphone 4 no longer changing audio source to make call via in car bluetooth.

Hi, I have an audi A4, my iphone 4 connects to it, you can look at the directory's, calls made, missed etc, When you want to make a call or receive a call, the audio source from the phone is not put through the car, its only goes through the phone. Checking the iphone, it used to show a list of audio sources i.e. the car's bluetooth connection, the speaker or the phone. No it doesn't show the car's bluetooth. My HTC Desire S has no such issues and voice can be heard through the car's bluetooth, so I assume that the car's bluetooth is not at fault. Thanks for any help

hi  i am after some help ive put the new nano sim in my iphone 4 with an adaptor that i was giving by 02, i now cant get my sim out of my phone it opens, its open a small amount but wont move anymore i did put the sim in my  phone in the adaptor, and in 100% sure i did it correct, i have apple care on my phone but i guess it wont be covered by it? or am i incorrect here?  i rang o2 tonight and they said take it into a store tomorrow to see what that can do! but im not holding out much hope   how much would it cost for apple to fix?

Restored iphone 4 backup to 4S and SMS disappears

I received my iphone 4S in the mail yesterday and immediately connected it to my iTunes and restored from the backup of my iphone 4 (iOS 4.3.2). During the restore I had all sorts of issues, including the phone freezing or not transferring apps. The biggest issue, I lose all my SMS/Texts that I've had since 2007! Several restores later I figured out all the other issues by connecting my iphone 4 to iTunes, removing all Apps/Music/Books/etc. and then backing it up again. I used this restore point to restore back onto the iphone 4S. Everything is great! I look at Messages and my SMSes is all there. Then a couple of minutes later, the phone freezes. I had to do a soft reset and when I went back into the Messages app. I see my SMSes and then they all disappear and the Messages app acts like there is nothing there and gives me a new text message to send. I've tried countless things. Called Apple. I have done almost 30 restores. Per Apple's customer service rep I upgraded my iphone 4's iOS to 5, backed it up and restored it onto my iphone 4S and I ended up losing my SMSes on the iphone 4 as well so it's definitely an iOS issue. I still have a backup in iTunes, but how do I fix this?! Thanks for your help! TL;DR I restored my backed up iphone 4 settings to my iphone 4S and even though I see my historical SMSes transfer, the iphone freezes and after a reboot my SMSes all disappear.

Weird touchscreen response while charging iphone 4.

Hi, I used to charge my iphone 4 via USB Chord using my laptop only. But recently I shifted to charging it through the power adaptor which comes along the Apple iphone 4. But during charging, my touchscreen acts weirdly, I touch somthing and some other app opens.. I cant even unlock it during charging..   I am using the Official Apple Power adaptor and the Official Apple iphone 4 USB Chord which comes inside the box along with Apple iphone 4.I even tried charging my iphone 4 with Official Apple Power adaptor BUT WITH the USB Chord of Apple iPod Classic also. But the problem still persists..  I have tried charging my iphone with its cover on and even without its cover on.. But no relief..  Please help me out.  Thanks in advance.

Disorganized recent calls list Recents iphone

I'm writing this because I have been frustrated since 2007 with the iphone's Recents or recent calls list. I have had other smartphones and dumbphones and they have all had better organized recent calls lists. It's incredible to me that Apple hasn't changed this and their own employees can't possibly be satisfied with how it works! If you agree please take a moment to put in a request on the feedback page. Thank you. The main problem is that calls to and from the same number will appear on different lines in the list. ALL calls from and to the same number should be consolidated! The most recent call is the one you should see, whether it be a missed call or the one you made. THEN when you tap on the arrow, you should see the entire history of the calls to and from that number. I am a heavy phone user at times depending on business and personal events. If I am calling and receiving calls from a particular person or persons multiple times during the day, then soon my recent calls list is full of entries from just those few numbers! Then that one new number that I call or receive gets buried and lost among all these repeated entries to/from the same frequently dialed numbers. The MAIN PURPOSE of a Recents list is to QUICKLY find and access a recent phone number. The way iphone works does not accomplish this! Another frustrating aspect is that when I delete some repeated entries, it will be combined (added to the history) with another entry of the same number. Ok great, but this doesn't always happen. PLUS, I shouldn't have to perform manual maintenance on this list to keep it clear and concise anyway - it should be automatic!! Thank you. I am going to have a cookie (NOT an Apple) to help calm down. Arrgh.

My iphone 4 will not charge unless on USB port to my computer.

For the past month or so i have been having to charge my iphone 4 from my USB port in my computer. I have bought new wall chargers and car chargers, and even tried a few friends chargers and they will not work on my phone what so ever. I can use the same cord from the wall adaptor that will not work, and plug it into my computer and it works perfectly.. I have been trying to find answers and it seems as if nobody else has had this occur to them. I am really just needing to find out why it is doing this, and if it is something I can fix. I have a 2007 audi A4. The iphone 4S bluetoothe still works, I can speak voice commands to the audi Navigation Plus and the phone dials, but once connected the call no longer comes through the car speakers. This did work until about one week ago, and I can;t recall changing anything.

Hello everybody. I'm actually encountering an issue with my iphone and my PC.I'm working on Windows 7 Professionnal 64 Bits with Service Pack 1.If I try to match my iphone to my computer via Bluetooth, my PC shows a problem with the installation of a bluetooth driver relating to my iphone.Consequently I cannot use my iphone to listen music stored in it on my computer.The device still in error and I haven't found anything on Internet. I'd like to precise that my bluetooth adaptor is up-to-date and others peripherics connected by Bluetooth don't have this issue. So could you help me for this case ? Best regards, Judicael

My iphone 4 acting weird Will i get free replacement

I dropped it under a running sink 3 weeks ago. Its been in rice since. Ive tried turing it on but it just stays on an apple logo. Now there a pieace of rice stuck in the charger hole so i can't connect to anything. I took it to apple the guy said since its water damaged $150 for a replacement. But ive heard that if i just say it wont turn on and not mention the water they'll replace it for free. Also the liquid indicators in the adaptor and headphone jack both havent turned red well it still looks white so... also it still under warranty. ^^^Please READ first^^^Will they be able to find out that its water damaged? I wont tell and the indicators are still white?For a free one what should i say? should i say in wont turn on? what they think its just outta charge and i cant charge it because that pieace of rice is impossible to take out.Will they be able to take the rice out? If not would the rice be a reason for a free replacement?Do you think they'll give me a free one? Will they give me an unlocked iphone? I dont have at&t phone service anymore after this incident my dad canceled the service and is thinking of getting t-mobile.And lastly just for my curiosity. For what reasons would apple replace iPhones for free? My friend just had a cracked screen and got hers replaced for free so im just guessing it depends on the technition. Thank You Guys So Much

Ford MySync iphone Not Good

Apple Users beware, Have had my brand new 2011 Ford Explorer into the Ford Dealer 4/5 times, as the Ford MySync system is AWFUL at best.... .....GPS is WORSE than the 2007 Ford Explorer I turned in, takes 5-10 minutes to activate when returning to home/original destination :-( ....Bluetooth connecttion to iphone is spotty at best ...SD card is faulty and cannot be read (killing system) at least once a week ....AM radio is AWFUL if not unlistenable ....My Ford Dealer Confirms that is a very bad system .....Ford My Sync Tech support staff who are very, very good also confirm the many issues...with Ford MySync.. I love Ford and have been buying Ford for 30 years, but Ford MySync S---ks!! Please, Please. Please Ford listen to us and fix this NOW!

iphone 4 no match in Contacts for international callers

The Phone/Contacts application seems to have a problem matching up international numbers for incoming calls.For example, I have a UK number in my contacts, formatted in standard form like this:+44 1234 123456When I receive a call from that number, it is provided by Caller ID like this:441234123456However, the iphone does not match the incoming number with the contact. If I put "441234123456" in Contacts exactly like that, then it is matched, but obviously that is not how I want it.I have found references to such problems going back to 2007, but no clear solution. Surely Apple should have fixed it by now?Does anyone have any clues? Is this just something I have to live with?

iphone 4s error 1611

hello yesterday morning every thing was fine my iphone alarm rang normally at 7:10 am and i turned it off then at 7:25 am the second alarm rang and i also turned it off while i was still in my bed after  a while i wanted to look to see what time is it and here comes the surprise :O my iphone was at the apple logo and a white line crossed the screen from the left to the right and it rebooted again and again and again and after a hard reset my iphone was stuck at aplle logo which was shivering like she had cold i turned it off and came to the office tried so many ways and tried to restore my iphone with several ways but still no luck i keep getting error 1611 and after a search online they say to change the battery i took it to the local shop cause no apple store in lebanon and they changed the battery but after i went to get my phone and i started it it was still the white usb cable + itunes on the screen so they tried to install the ios 5.0.1 (9A406) and the 4S is factory unlocked, but same error 1611 so they changed back to my old battery and they told me no solution and by the way its the same shop i baught the iphone from and they dont give warranty on it and now am back to the office trying again and again before i smash my iphone into the wall so am now extravagently angry to a way no one can imagine i just lost 750 dollars in the air as they never existed so i dont know what to do even though i am not new to iphones and i started using apple devices since the fist iphone was released in 2007 and i always got them factory unlocked and all is legal no jailbreak or any thing other  is there any apple store in lebanon or any way to repair my iphone 4s or its just lost for ever with no sloution to itwhat if i sent it to any friend of mine in usa or london to take it to apple store would that helpcan they exchange my phone or even try to solve the problem does apple support here devices sold outside here apple store cause i said its in beirut lebanon in the middle east and no apple store in the whole area any help would be appriciated from apple support or any one who can assist me in that

My iphone 4 shutdown till I'm calling. And it's unable to boot up without connect with iTunes with boot loop or power adaptor with emergency call. Also I got error 21 too when I try to restore its. Issue with iCloud and PC Outlook 2007 Contacts iphone 4

Hey,   So I finally managed to update to iOS 5, and it's fun playing around and learning the new things, but I already got issues.  Minor, but still a nuissance.   Once synced, My Outlook Calendar became duplicated, and with the slide down tab started showing double notifications.     My bigger issue is with how it's syncing with the Contacts.  It emptied the Main Contact folder into an iCloud Contact folder; fine.  However, the Contact Cards would sync perfectly with the original Outlook Calendar, insterting birthdays and everything.  Now, any NEW birthday that I try to add to a new contact, it won't show up on the iCloud calendar, without selecting "show birthdays".  I find this redundant since it now makes double birthday reminders when for those already saved from before the iOS upgrade.   Why is this happening?  Why can't I just continue using the Outlook Contact cards the same way, and have them load the same way?  Why can't I just add them to the iphone contact slot, and have them show up WITHOUT selecting the birthday calendar?   Thanks.

HelloI have an iphone 4 and audi Q5 with MMI 3G+ with factory Bluetooth Phone preparation.My phone paired with my car and when I start engine it connect automatically to car.But after iOS 5 (and 5.01) sometimes (one time per 2-3 days) connection not establish automatically - I need to make a phone restart for a connection with car.I tried to make a MMI restart, but it is not a solution - only phone restart helps, so I think this is a problem in iOS 5.0 and 5.01 Does anybody have the same issue?ThanksAndrey

I've just had my iphone charging port fixed and it seemed fine when charging, but all of a sudden since updating theres a problem, I keep getting the message, 'charging not supported with this accessory' is this the IOS5's fault or the leads fault? How can i fix this? Ps i also get this problem when i use the plug adaptor as well as my laptop USB port, i can still transfer music and videos etc when it is plugged in, just no charge.

iphone 4S back panel coming off

I got the 4S on launch day. Aside from being plagued by poor battery performance, last night I noticed the back panel seems to be loose. I was cleaning my phone and noticed a ticking sound everytime i squeeze it in the lower left corner. this also happens when i set it down on a flat surface. Clearly the glass panel is loose because when i squeeze the side of my phone it makes that sound everytime and i can see the panel moving down into the side of the phone.  The bad battery is one thing but poor assembley is even worse. I would go to an Apple store but the nearest one is 2 /12 hours away. So I called Customer support and was informed that there is a 14 day return period but I would have to wait for that to expire before they could send me a new phone. What kind of sense does that make? I have been a very loyal Apple user for 15 years and owned every iphone version since 2007. But I am seriously beginning to wonder if Apple even cares about quality anymore.

Bluetooth pairing contact issues iphone 4S

My iphone 4s bluetooth pairs with both my 2007 and 2011 Mercedes Benz's, but it will not import my contacts into the Mercedes Command center address book in my 2011.  Any suggestions?

iphone 4 and audi MMI Bluetooth not showing directory.

I have an iphone 4 and use it with Bluetooth MMI audi car kit. It used to work perfectly but now it doesn't synchronize my contacts, missed calls etc. It still pairs and I an use it but I can not access the directory! Can anybody help?

I'm having the same problem - my audi Bluetooth won't sync with my phone anymore. This is ONLY since the iOS5 update.  Apple had better fix this.

Done all that but still comes up as unknown on the screen when receiving calls which are already stored in my phone book . Unless I use recent calls to dial even that comes up as unknown on the screen too of I hit dial directly from my phone Any ideas ?

on your phone go settings,general,bluetooth,under devices touch arrow in box {mine says audi mmi}new screen appears  turn on sync contacts,phone favourites phone recents ,all contacts. this shoul solve the problem ,let me know how you get on.
