I was so hoping to get to update my apps without having to first delete and re-install. I have had 3 apps that I was waiting to update until 2.1 and 8.0 came out. Now that it is out, I am still getting the 0xe800002e message after downloading the update in iTunes and then trying to sync the iPhone. Bummer.Who else or better yet, has anyone gotten their UPDATE of APPS to work and how if so?Thanks.--Mickey Macbook Pro 2.2 GHz 4GB Mac OS X (10.5.4) 3G iPhone 2.1
and now all of the applications I have downloaded on my old iPhone 3g cannot retrieve the updates put out by iTunes. I restored my new 3g to my old 3gs last backup point and everything seems to work but the updating of applications. iTunes gives me the following error code.... unknown error 0xE800002EI have already de-authorized my computer and re-authorized it and am hoping to find some more options. I have also tried updating from just the iPhone itself, but it did not work...Has anyone else run across this problem?? dell Windows XP
A few days ago i put iFooty on my iPhone 3g, and it worked great.Today i see that there is an update for it, so i try to update it from my phone. It tells me that it will update next time i sync it.When i sync my phone i get an error saying (something similar to)...The application iFooty wont install, an unknown error has occured (0xe800002e).I have tried to completely reload it, deleted it off the phone, reset my phone, tried to re-sync the phone numerous times, but still get the same message.I have now lost interest, and would like to get rid of the app off both my phone and itunes. I still have the red (1) on my application store updates on my phone, thats annoying me because i cant update it at all.I can tick or untick the application on itunes, but dont know how to remove it from the applications list.Any ideas? Windows Vista
GOOD NEWSI just updated my original iPhone from 2.0.1 to 2.0.2 in 11 minutes, compared to the 2.0.1 update that took 6 hours. I credit the decreased time to tips posted on this forum, namely:1. Restarted my computer running 10.4.11 with System 9 shut off before updating.2. Downloaded the update the night before and installed the update the next day (today).3. My tip: Backed up the phone yesterday (took 2 hours because hadnt been backed up in a while) so the backup this morning went fast.4. My tip: Updated early morning EDT while West Coast was sleeping.BAD NEWSStill cannot download updates on my iPhone in 2.0.2 unless I delete the software on the iPhone before updating. I get a message that the software will be available when I sync in iTunes, but when I sync, I get the dreaded 0xe800002e error. Problem is my iXpenseIt 1.1 has 750 records that I do not want to delete, but the new 1.2 version has a lot more features that I would like to use. This also happens to other software with no records that I do not delete from the phone before attempting to update. Any suggestions? PowerBook G4 Mac OS X (10.4.11) 60gb hd, 1.5gig ram
I just applied the update to 2.0.2 and then allowed iTunes to update my 1Password app. The download went fine but the synch still resulted in the usual 0xe800002e error. I really dont want to delete the app from the iPhone as I will have to re-do the setup in 1Password. Oh well - here I go.
