I ordered a iphone 4s 32GB from Sprint during the preorder.  I have spent the last nine days calling Sprint and Apple tech support.  I was having trouble with my phone not ringing for some calls and the calls going directly to voicemail.  The other problem was that visual voice mail showed no messages.   I was told by Sprint technical support iphone specialist that I had a defective PRL 51082. The PRL needs to start with 520 or 610 for Sprint.  You can find your PRL by going to Settings>General>About>Carrier, Then Tap carrier and it will switch to PRL.  Sprint tech support said this is a known issue and effected preorder iphones. Replacement phones are on backorder....so I need to return the phone, cancel contract, cancel applecare+.  THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE, if you are having any kind of problems with your iphone4s check your PRL.  I was told that PRL stands for Preferred Roaming List.

Sprint will not allow you to keep your current phone until the replacement arrives in store?

 

What did you end up doing here?

I was told to take the "defective" phone to a corporate store.  They had no replacement phones and had no idea when they would get any.  Since my contract grace period would be ending in a few days, I canceled the contract and applecare+.  I was put on a waiting list for a new phone.  I had my old phone put back on. 

So far no 32 GB white iphones to be had.  Apple store is 100 miles away.  I couldn't keep my phone because I was not receiving a majority of calls and texts.  My old Palm Pre is working fine. If you are receiving all yourcalls and visual voicemail is working it's probably not a problem.  Disappointed.

I too have PRL 51082, but I've never even heard of this. An you're saying that ALL 510's are defective?

 

PRL means preferred roaming license, and it changes all the time. So I'm confused as to how this is working exactly.
