Hi guys,
My iphone 4s speaker phone abruptly stopped working two days after I bought it. I have tried everything in the settings and it still did not work. One thing I'm sure about is that, the problem is from a hardware malfunction. This is because I get cracking sounds at times when there seems to be a phone call or any sort of alert. This happens once in like 20-30 occurences. I have not really enjoyed talking to Siri on speaker phones, receiving calls through ringtones as it's always in vibration. Everything with the loudspeaker never seems to work. Please what do I do? Worst still is that a friend bought me the phone from the US and sent it to me in Nigeria where Apple has no authorised distributors. Guys, I'm lost. Please help

Do the basic troubleshooting steps described in the User Guide, Appendix B: Restart, Reset, Restore using a backup, Restore as new, without using a backup. If Restoring as new doesn't help, there surely is a hardware failure.
If you have a hardware failure, there is NOTHING we can suggest that will magically fix it. Taking it to an iPhone service center is your only option. The warranty is valid only in the USA and the phone has to be brought in to Apple by a person - you can't ship it directly to them and Apple won't ship it back to you out of the country.

Thanks for your quick response.
I have done the 'Restore as new' and the problem still persist. This is why I also believe it's a hardware failure.
I am resident in Nigeria, but it was bought in the US. What option do I have if I have to pay for shiping 'to and fro' back to the US, do you think it will help? If you know any other option that can help, kindly help with it. Many thanks. I am really sad about this.

Your ONLY option is to ship it to someone you know in the USA. That person will have to take it to Apple for warranty service/replacement and then ship it back to you. Apple won't accept a shipment from or ship to anyone outside the USA.
