I recently restored my iphone 4 to factory settings to fix a seperate issue, but since my phone has been saying 'only compatible sim cards fron a supported carrier may be used to activate iPhone' My sim card is an english o2 sim which has always worked previously. I am unable to set upthe phone or restore using itunes so my phone is completely not functioning. any ideas on what i could try next? My last resort is the genius bar

It sounds like your iPhone was hacked to unlock it and updating

has locked it back to the original carrier .It is now relocked  to that carrier
