I need help restoring iphone3 to original settings cause the last backup today at 5:50 won't restore due to an error, help!!!!!!

You can go to Settings --> General --> Reset and then choose "Erase All Content and Settings".

 

Caution:  That action will, in fact, erase everything on your iPhone!

The phone had already had that done and the camera is gone so I wanted to backup the contacts, etc. And then restore to original on iTunes. Now it won't restore backup because an error occurred. The phone worked before this and now all it shows is the apple on the front of it and won't do anything else. Please advise!?
