I have an Iphone 4. As the spaces got filled, some of my apps were moved from the screen. I can still find them in search iphone and the app store says they are installed but i want to replace the icons back on the screen. Does anyone know how to do this?

Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout will restore the home screen to it's orignal app configuration, moving other apps around as necessary to accomplish this.

There isn't a way to locate where on the phone they are from Spotlight (the search screen).  Reset Home Screen Layout will resore your built-in apps to their original locations, but may not relocate other apps.  All you can do is look on all your screens and inside all your folders.  Another option, if you don't mind losing your app data for the missing app, is locate it using Spotlight, then delete the app and redownload it.  To delete an app, tap and hold its icon until it wiggles, the tap the black "X", when done, tap the home button.  Note: you may want to be sure the app is still available in the app store before deleting it; if it isn't you won't be able to redownload it.

You're right, my mistake.  (Never tried it before but assumed it would allow this; guess it will only launch the app.)  In that case, you can go uncheck the app in iTunes on your computer on the Apps tab of your iTunes sync settings and sync, which will remove it from your phone.  Then redownload it on your phone as a past purchase (Apps Store>Updates>Purchased>Not on This iPhone.  (Note: you will have to be signed into the Apple ID used to purchase the app in Settings>Store for it to appear on this list, and as mentioned before, it also has to still be available in the app store.)
