Recovering conversations or Sending full conversations to another iPhone

When texting with the iPhone, one way to look back at the conversation to refer to a previous text is to hit the edit button. Trouble is, this option gives you the ability to delete or clear an entire text conversation with the push of one button. If someone (not me of course!) has accidentally deleted 5 months worth of texts, which are chock-full of important correspondance, is there any way for:
a) this person to recover these texts?
b) for the other party who still has these texts to email or send the full five months of back and forth to this other iPhone user?
