Push notifications not working iPhone 3G

Hey guys...hopefully someone here can help me out with this.
I have been using the TEXTFREE app for a while not. Recently push notifications have not been working. I never get a notification of a new message and dont even know someone has sent me a message until I launch the app.
I have already contacted Pinger who makes the app and they responded with this...
Push Notifications are an Apple feature and service. As soon as we receive a message from one of your contacts for you, we immediately send the proper commands to the APNS (Apple Push Notification Services) so they can notify you of this event. We have visibility into our service and can tell if things are slow and make corrections, but unfortunately we dont have visibility into their service. As of now, we see nothing funky going on with our side of things and after testing it here, everything seems to be working well.
Has anyone else had problems like this and how would I go about seeing what Apple has to say about this?
Is this a Pinger problem or an Apple problem??
