podcast app not showing up on iphone

I tried to install the new Podcast app from the App store on my 32GB iPhone 4S, which otherwise appears to work fine.  But the Podcast app doesn't seem to appear on my phone, although when I search for it on the phone, the search brings me to it, but I can't find the app icon ANYWHERE on the phone.  I have tried deleting the within Settings and (1) it is there and (2) I can delete it.  But I can't find it anywhere on the phone (obviously eithe before I deleted it or even after I reinstalled it).  I have installed hundreds of apps, all without problem, but this one doesn't seem to show up.  I have more than 2 GBs of space left on the phone and can't figure it out.  I am an avid user of the iTunes U app, but I wouldn't think that would casue a problem.
