Hi
I don't really know where to start.
I lost my iPhone back in February (probably around the 9th) in the back of a taxi. I had no insurance but I got this blocked by my phone network and reported it to the police. I also rang around all the taxi companies to see if this has been handed in. This was never found.
Now, I have just been on and logged a case for an arranged call back and i noticed that there were 2 repairs showing on my account, so me being curious, wondered what these where, 1 of these was for my very old nano, which I knew about. But, the second 1 related to my OLD iPhone 4 which I had LOST and was from the 9th March! It was taken into the Manchester Arndale Center store. I am based in Liverpool, so this is not too far away!!
I have never been anywhere near this store or Manchester for at least 4 months and I lost this at least 1 month before the repair date! This phone had been blocked by the imei number by Vodafone, so how can it have been repaired on the 9th March? Would apple have unblocked this? If so is there anything I can do, as this is not that persons phone to unlock & use???
Please help & any advice would be much appreciated
x
As this is a user to user support forum, what exactly do you expect from us?
If someone found the device and took it in for warranty replacement, Apple is in no way obligated or required to check with law enforcement to ensure the device has not been reported stolen.
Apple does not block or unblock IMEI numbers, ONLY the carrier does this and generally only for their network.
It's gone... life's short... move on.

I understand this is a "user-to-user" support forum, but I wrote on here for advice... If you haven't got any, don't bother commenting as your sarcasm and rudeness does not help me and is a waste of time!

Well, since it was overlooked... the advice is move on with life.
There is no technical issue here to be discussed. Apple does not block or unblock devices.
Only the carriers do IMEI blocking, IF they choose to do it on their network.
