try a reset of all settings by going to settings> general> reset>reset all settings You won't lose your stuff

Is your phone jailbroken? That's about the only way an iPhone can send text messages without your sending them.

Did you recently install an app named "Find and Call"? It does exactly what you describe. It is malware that steals your contact list, then sends spam to all of your contacts. It is the first reported maiware in the App Store, and has since been removed.
