Somehow despite having Passcode enabled, my Gmail email account on my iPhone was accessed. Has anyone seen this??? How???? I have 2.2 firmware and cant figure out how this could have happened. A message was received from Gmail server (fetch 15min). The new msg tone was heard and the home screen button was pressed which popped up the Gmail account inbox.
Sorry not many details and this does not make any sense at all.
autolock = 1 minute
Password lock on
SMS preview off

Locking iPhone turns off the display to save your battery and to prevent unintended operation of iPhone. It doesnt turn it off. Your mail is set to fetch every 15 minutes. It did that.
If your passcode lock interval had not passed, you would not need to enter the passcode.
