My iphone 4 was replaced via apple locked to orange i upgraded replacement from 4.33 to 5.01 it then changed carriers to vodaphone apple sorted it out now orange wont unlock my phone as they state its locked to Vodafone help

iphone 4 was replaced via apple locked to orange, i upgraded the replacement from 4.33 to 5.01 it then changed carriers to vodaphone, apple sorted it out, now orange wont unlock my phone as they state its locked to Vodafone, which it isnt as im currently using an orange sim, can anyone suggest what went wrong/ is wrong with my phone? and how to go abou this?

If the device was officially unlocked by the original carrier, then any replacements by Apple would also be unlocked.

Devices do not get locked to subsequent carriers.

 

So despite all this... what is the actual issue with the device currently?

If the device was officially unlocked by the original carrier, then any replacements by Apple would also be unlocked.

i dont think you understood what i said the phone was never unlocked. orange are refusing to unlock the phone now as they state its locked to vodaphone even though it isnt and never was offcially. It changed carriers after the update then i complain to apple and they changed it back. That is the issue.

In which case take it to an Apple Retail Store with all the exchange paperwork and have them sort it out

You are sure it hasn't been hacked ?
