should've set a passcode now the thief can look thru your phone.
If you enabled Find my iPhone BEFORE it was stolen, and the phone is powered on, and the thief did not remove them SIM, and the thief did not restore the phone, and the thief did not wrap the phone in aluminum foil or put it in a metal container then you can log in to iCloud, click on Find my iPhone, and erase it.
If the phone has a passcode lock AND you enabled erase after 10 tries then that's what will happen.
If you have a corporate MS Exchange account on it your IT department can erase it.
That covers pretty much all of the options.
Note that the OP said there WAS a passcode on the phone.
Oops good eye Lawrence... I guess I read to fast.
My bad OP.
