My Iphone 3gs has a mind of its own. It will work fine for a day then after I make a call it might starts doing things. Itmight go through menus  takes pictures, record on the video camera ,types messages and notes that don't make sense (jibberish) , and makes calls when it feels like! All of my internet is off because I'm worried about getting a huge phone bill.  Only download was to itunes when putting my new sim in the phone after buying it from another person who assures me there was no problems prior to me buying it.

 

The Firmware is as of the 24.3.2012. Phone was recently legally unlocked from a phone service provider. Is this a hardware or software issue? I'm really dissapointed!

 

it is a white edition 32gb model.

Exactly how was it unlocked?  If it wasn't done by your carrier, then your phone was jail broken, which can lead to all kinds of problems. (your post doesn't specifically say who unlocked it, just that it "was recently legally unlocked **from** a phone service provider", not **by**). .

The phone was with the Vodafone network In Australia and was factory unlocked . The iphone IMEI number was submitted to apple for unlocking.
