He rinsed it immediately in fresh water and we now have it in a bag of rice. Is there a way he can retrieve the pictures off of it? We don't think he had synced with iCloud. HELP! Thanks
If they were underwater pictures I'd be interested to see how they come out.
About the only thing worse than water is salt water. Let it dry out for a few days, then plug it into iTunes and hope for the best.
If the pictures got uploaded to Photo Stream they will appear in iPhoto's Photo Stream. Good luck!

Sad but funny. John is correct, you do not want it on at all cost when it is not dry and you can only hope for the best. Salt is really corrosive, hence sometimes ppl wished they had insurance and the phone stolen.
On the positive side, my friend had dropped an old iPhone in the puddle and it worked after it dried so there is hope. And maybe the rumored next gen feature will be true.
