Im in the middle of my AT&T contract for my iPhone 3G and I may be moving overseas. When I spoke with someone at AT&T about this, she said that it would be possible to terminate my contract on account of the move but that my iPhone would remain locked, period. End of story. Despite the fact that Ill be living outside of AT&Ts service area. What makes this particularly frustrating is that I just learned that Apple does have an official unlock (Cf.
http://theappleblog.com/2009/08/20/apples-official-iphone-3g-unlock/), but this seems to be unavailable in my situation. Aside from the unauthorized methods for unlocking a phone, does anyone (include you folks at Apple) know of an approved/official/legitimate way to do this for my circumstance?
