Hi,

I figured why messages used to crash: I had the Skype app installed, and after deleting it (following a friend's advice having the same problem) it got better. it's still taking it very long to launch, but at least it launches at all.

I think the best way is to buy an iPhone 5 when it release.To the present problem, I suggest you to back up your data and reinstall the iOS 5.1.

try to restore its on original settings through itunes ...when you are opening itunes there is restore option try that ...pls note that your phone should be factory unlocked or you must get it from authorized dealer before restore

"iPhone 5" - you mean the 6th generation iPhone, right? Why in the world would Apple call it iPhone 5?? That name was speculated before anyone knew that the 5th generation model would be called the 4S.
