Loud static when connected to car through aux cable iPhone 4

Ive got my iPhone4 connected to my Mini Cooper through an aux cable and the static is unbearable. At first, it would hiss for 2-3 seconds before going away but now its all the way through songs and super sensitive to touch (especially I touch the iPhone4 on the edges). This happening to anyone else?
Didnt happen with my 3g or Nano. Bought the Belkin Cable in the Apple store a year or two ago. Wondering if a bumper (which Im planning on buying anyway) will limit some of the interference thats possibly moving through the antennae and into the aux cable?
Thoughts?

Mine is quiet. Are you getting stereo audio ? If not, maybe the plug isnt seating properly.

Yeah, its stereo, just really terrible, unstable quality. I think its the Belkin cable actually -- it has this metal bezel that wraps around and makes contact with the iPhone antennae. I tried a buddys cable that makes contact with the antennae with plastic and didnt have the same effect.

hi - theres a griffin cable that worked for me.... specifically made for this issue - for some reason its worse with the ip4, I also have a mini and it drove me crazy until i got this.....

just came back to this thread as id been putting up with the hiss -- im in a mini cooper and apparently it and bmws have this issue.
this is exactly what i need but i see on the belkin site its been discontinued

go to walmart and buy a cable that has plastic on the ends instead of metal and the problem will go away
