As well as searching through the App Store, you could look at the websited of your local council / traffic authority / police.

They may have something.

Try INRIX Traffic, it's free and provides real time traffic conditions, traffic forecasting, and live traffic alerts that notify you of nearby traffic impacting incidents.  It also covers arterial and secondary streets, which no else covers.

The issues regarding battery drain when using Inrix Traffic are still a huge issue. While I understand, according to the information on your company website, the problem is associated with a "bug" in iOS 5, the app becomes unsuable for those of us who are affected.

I believe that not all iOS devices are affected, so it may be that only certain configurations create the issue. My device drains it's battery very quickly when Inrix's location service is enabled, while my coworker with the same device has no issue. It's for this reason I'm convinced that device configuration may be a factor.

I must say, it's a great app! I hope Apple can patch the issues that lead to the battery drain, but it would be prudent for Inrix to consider a stop-gap solution; why not provide an option to shut down the application when not in use for those of us who want to use the app, but can't leave it running?

I look forward to a resolution, one way or the other.
