As I said. The iPhone is not considered user servicable. There is no legitimate source for parts.
That said, I understand plenty of people want to try and fix them themselves rather than pay the out of warranty replacement fee when they break them.
iFixit has done comprehensive teardowns and has lots of useful videos and photos to help you along if you want to try and tackle it yourself.
This topic is NOT appopriate for these forums. Apple does not condone end users opening and/or attempting to fix iPhones. Add to that the fact that the only sources for parts will get you gray market parts that have been stripped from old/damaged/possibly stolen phones, or cheap knockoff parts and... well... you get the idea.
Due to the fact that I added two lines of text and a link you are not going to help me anymore? You know what? I don't even need your reply,
How come the dots above the proximity sensor have anything with repairing an iphone? it is ***king sold like that!!!
the same thing goes with the iphone's lines on the metal bezel... it is sold like that, man!!!! come on seriosly.
I need and answer to know the differences bwteen the design of these freaking details not anything else in the first place.
As to your first picture on the bezel, that is due to different antenna design between the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s. They are not switchable. As far as the "dots" I have a black one and cannot see them but again the front faceplate of the 4 and 4s are slightly different and not swappable.
The sensor holes (dots) are the same with iPhone 4 and 4S. There are 3 types of Front Screens. 1- iPhone 4 GSM (example ATT), 2- iPhone 4 CDMA (Verizon, Sprint), 3- iPhone 4S (all carriers same).
You need to buy the entire Front Screen Assembly (front glass, digitizer, LCD) preassembled at factory for one of the three iPhones above.
You seem to be hinting at buying a White Front for ATT iPhone 4. So buy Front Screen Assembly for iPhone 4 GSM (ATT), choose the White or pick any color you like.
thank you, for replying me brad and deggie, The little dots above the proximity(sieve looking) are only on the white model, i believe they are there to make that proximity hole not so prominent.
This doesn't have anything with repairing the iphone, i'm not trying to find an aswer of what to buy how to repair or any tutorials, i'm sorry if i didn't make clear my question.
The only thing that I would like to know is if i see an iPhone in my hands I can tell straight if that's a 4 or 4s based on the lines and proximity design.
Again, my question was not solved, yet.
Like I said, "The sensor holes (dots) are the same with iPhone 4 and 4S." There is no difference between the 3 possible screens. They are identical and interchangeable. The only difference is the mounting bracket screw tabs are in different places in the 3 different screens. Also the iPhone 4S on real original Apple screens has a small 1-2mm white dot on the upper glass on the inside aspect. So with assembled iPhone 4S this internal dot is never seen. Otherwise all the 3 screens are identical except for the mounting bracket, 3 different screens - 3 different mounting brackets.
